This is a relatively quick chapter, it's a whole bunch of shorts. It's the last chapter of the second year. The next chapter for the third year will start with each of the main characters (Lily, Demi, and each of the Marauders) like the second year. The first chapter for the third year will be out by the end of Sunday night. Not much else happens for the rest of the second year. Please don't think I'm just rushing to end this year.
"So, you are going out with him?" asked Sirius.
"For Merlin's sake, I am" said Demi banging her head onto the table. They were sitting in Charms, attempting to review the major parts of the course. It was early June, and although Demi and Lockhart were still going strong, many girls (and Sirius) were attempting to ruin their relationship. So far, girls have been throwing themselves at Lockhart, attempting to make Demi jealous, yet their plans never worked. Sirius, who had been nearby on all occasions, would swoop in, and ask the young girl out. Many, to Demi's surprise, took one look at the dark-haired, grey-eyed boy and immediately say yes. "So, Katie Melcam was chatting up Lockhart this morning, I heard she agreed to go out with you 2 minutes later," said Demi as they walked out of class, with everyone (except Lily, who was with Severus).
"Yeah," Sirius said, "I asked her and she said yes."
"I thought things went downhill after the Valentines thing" she slipped in.
"Oh, she's gotten over it" he said, waving the comment aside.
"She's the 25th girl you've been out with in the last two months," Demi observed.
"Been keeping count love?" Sirius smiled.
"No, just seeing what one of my best mates is up to" she said nonchalantly, pushing open the doors to the Great Hall for dinner.
"Yeah, the ladies cannot resist my charm and god looks" he said raking a hand through his hair.
"Okay there, I'll catch up with you lot later," she walked over to the Ravenclaw table, and settled down next to Lockhart, who promptly kissed her on the cheek.
"They looks so cute" said Lily meeting up with the others.
"We would to, you know" said James, winking at her, and ruffling his hair.
"Yeah, if you were invisible and nowhere near me" said Lily, walking further down the table, Kiaria and Alice trailing along.
"So you agree to let her live with you?' asked Professor Dumbledore. He was in his office, sitting by his desk eyeing the couple on the other side. "You know the risks, I presume?"
"Yes sir" said Mr. Potter, smiling. "You've explained what the 'issue' is here, and I can assure you that I have no problem with letting Demitria live with us."
"She's a lovely with, intelligent too. Hopefully it'll rub off on James" Mrs. Potter laughed.
"Alright then" said Professor Dumbledore, giving them a smile. "should I invite the two of them in?" he asked, gesturing to the door. The couple nodded eagerly as the door swung open. Demi and James walked in and saw the Potters sitting at the table.
"Mum, Dad, what are you doing here?" asked James.
"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Potter" said Demi, walking over to stand by Professor Dumbledore.
"Albus invited us here, James" said his mother, ruffling his hair.
"I didn't do it" the boy said automatically, making the four of them all laugh. "No, but really, what's going on?"
"Well, it concerns Demitria here," said Mrs. Potter, smiling down at the girl who looked confused. "She needs a place to stay, and well, seeing as you consider her your sister, we offered her a place in our home."
"Really?" said James, running over to Demi whose mouth hung open in a comical 'o.' We're going to be family."
"Aren't you excited?" asked Mr. Potter walking over to the two children.
"I'm confused. I hope you don't mind me living with you, and I don't mind. But why am I leaving Professor?" asked Demi.
"Well, you're getting older, and I personally think you will need some female guidance, not provided from Professor McGonagall," he smiled. "You need someone, who is a mother that is where the Potters step in."
"Okay" said Demi, "I guess I'm your new sister, James." She ran over to the Potter's and gave them a huge hug, "thank you."
"Anytime, sweetheart" said Mrs. Potter.
"One question, can I keep my last name Dumbledore?" she asked.
"Yep" said Professor Dumbledore, smiling at the girl over his half-moon spectacles.
"Is there anything else I should know?" she asked, hoping Professor Dumbledore understood the context of the question.
"They know, and make sure you take all your belongings home when you leave this time round" he replied.
Demi looked into Mr. and Mrs. Potter's eyes, they don't seem to give a damn, she thought. Without further ado, they departed the office, all a hell of a lot happier.
The last day
"Are you all packed?" asked Alice in a motherly sort of way.
"Yes mum" said Kiara, throwing pillow across the room, hitting Alice in the face. "So what are you lot doing for the summer?"
"Eh, not much" said Demi. She and James had rushed to tell the others about the new arrangements. They were all overly excited, even Lily, although she disliked James. "Just settling in with the family."
"Hope it all works out," said Lily. "I'm going to France. My grandmother lives there and she's been dying for me to visit since she found out about me being a witch."
"She knows?" asked the others
"Yeah, my dad told her. She's swore not to say a word about it though. She's really excited about the whole thing. Always believed in magic," Lily explained.
"Guess who's wedding I'm going to" asked Alice. Everyone shrugged. "Molly Prewitt! Fabian's sister! She's getting married to Arthur Weasley. Always knew it would happen. My mum knows the Weasleys very well, and they invited us."
Everyone who had met Molly and Arthur knew that it was only a matter of time before they graduated from Hogwarts and got married. "I'm just staying home, like a bum" said Kiaria laughing.
They swept around the room, picking up the last couple of items, stuffing them in bags. With one backwards glance they headed down to the front of the school to the carriages.
"Well that's another year done, only four more to go" said Sirius as they clambered into the train. Lily had gone off with Severus, and the others were sitting in one compartment, relaxing. For Sirius, mentally preparing himself for battle with his family.
"You can come visit us if you want. Remember what my dad said at Christmas?" said James. "All of you can come, god knows we've enough room." Everyone laughed. James turned to Demi and said, "You're going to love it. It's got a huge garden, and a big comfy living room, and. . . . . ."
