*Well, this is it! Final chapter,

and I want you guys to know

I had a lot of fun writing this!

Thank you to all my viewers

this may be the last chapter, but definitely

not the last story! I'll more than keep writing

for Steven Universe though...*

Eight months have passed, and Pearl was due anytime now. She was happy, but Jade was still going through a bit of depression. Every Sunday, she would leave, and just sit on the beach. She would not eat, sleep, or do anything until it was Monday morning. Pearl was a little worried, but Amethyst would help out, she would keep an eye on Jade. Just in case she tried to end it all.

At the house...

Pearl rummaged through the cabinets looking for cookies. Her cravings weren't too weird, but she ate a lot more junk food, especially sweets! 'Finally!' She pulled down the jar and got a couple out. As she was walking to the fridge, Garnet and Amethyst came into the house. "Hey, Pearl!" Amethyst ran up to her stomach, she loved to make the baby kick. Pearl asked her to stop, she was trying to eat. Amethyst shrugged then ran to the door, "Crap, I gotta go! I have to go pick up Steven! I'll be back!"

Garnet walked up behind Pearl while she was pouring a glass of milk. Garnet wrapped her hands around Pearl's stomach, and instantly the baby moved towards Garnet's hands. As soon as the baby was able to move and kick, anytime Garnet was around, the baby would moved to Garnet's voice or touch. And when Pearl and Garnet slept together, the baby loved to sleep next to Garnet. "I love you." Pearl turned and kissed the taller girl, "I love you, too."

Jade came in, "Hey guys!" She seemed very happy today, "I'm glad to see you're happy today!" Jade smiled back at Pearl, "I just have a good feeling, that's all!" She walked merrily to her room.

"I wonder what she means?" Pearl walked to the counter, and sat down. Then she started cramping. "Oh God!"

"What?!" Garnet ran to her wife, "What's wrong?"

"I think I'm going into labor!" Pearl was panicking a little, but tried to keep calm. Garnet picked her up and rushed her to the room. Jade was already there, "I knew it!"

Pearl's room...

"What do you mean, you 'knew it'?" Garnet teleported through, and laid her on the bed. Although she didn't show it, Garnet was freaking out! Last time this happened, they didn't get their friend back. She tried calming her nerves, but it didn't work too well.

"I had a good feeling that the baby was gonna be here today!" Garnet still looked confused, Jade just smiled and shrugged, "It was just a feeling."

"Uh, Jade... I don't how to do this." Garnet was even more worried, 'I'm a terrible wife!'

"That's okay, I got this. I helped Pearl with Rose." Jade got ready. Pearl was in a LOT of pain. "I do need you to get me some pain killer though, she's gonna be hurting for a while!" Garnet rushed out of the room.

Once they were alone, Jade tried to calm Pearl down. "It's okay, it'll be over soon." And she giggled, "W-what are you laughing about?" Pearl cringed in pain, Jade answered, "I never thought this would happen again, and especially with it being you!" Pearl tried to smile, but the pain was awful. "I didn't think it would hurt so bad! I knew it hurt, but still!"

'I wish Garnet would hurry!' Jade started thinking, "You know what? I bet you all this pain will be worth it. Honestly, I do, you will have your kid, and the time you spend with your child, will be priceless. Think of Steven,
I bet Rose would love to be here, to see him grow up, and to know all the pain she felt was DEFINITELY worth it."

Pearl smiled, Jade was right. "Thanks, Jade. For being here, and helping me."

"Aw, no need to thank me. Trust me, this is making up for what I've done."

At the pharmacy...

'UGH! Hurry up, people!' Garnet waited impatiently in line, 'I've been here for over 15 minutes, and haven't moved!' The line moved up, two more people to go! She counted down the minutes: 1, 2, 5, 10! Yes! It's her turn finally!

"Okay, that'll be five dollars, and 27 cents!" The perky cashier didn't see Garnet's death stare (her glasses were on, so nobody saw it.) "Here, now I need to go!" She took off out the door, and headed home.

At the house...

"Hey, Garnet!" She ran in and was greeted by Steven. "Hi, Steven. I need to get back to the temple. I have no time for chatting." She opened the temple door and rushed to Pearl's aid. "What's with her?" Steven shrugged, "I don't know."

"What if Pearl is having the baby?!" Amethyst eyes grew, "What was Garnet carrying in the bag?"

"Uh, pain killer I think..." Steven and Amethyst looked at each other in shock. Then Garnet came back out of the temple.

"What's going, Garnet?" Amethyst took a seat next to Garnet on the couch, "Pearl's in labor."

"Why aren't you in there?" Garnet looked at Steven, with sadness. "Steven, there are just some things I can't do. And right now, I can't do anything to help, so I am to stay out here."

"Oh..."

Amethyst tried to think of a way to lighten up the mood, but she couldn't think of anything. She sighed, this was gonna be one hell of a wait!

In the temple...

"Are they helping?" Jade had given Pearl the medicine about 30 minutes ago, but they didn't seem to help. "N-no, not really. I-AH!" She screamed in pain before she could even finish the sentence. "It's alright! It's gonna be okay, just breathe. "

"I-I want Garnet here." Pearl looked at Jade with tears in her eyes. "Okay, I'll go get her." And she left

In the house...

"Come on, G. Lighten up! It'll all be over soon anyways, and you'll have a new baby!" Amethyst tried her hardest to cheer Garnet up, but it wasn't working. Garnet still had that fear of losing Pearl the same way she lost Rose.

"Garnet." Jade stepped out from behind the couch. "Oh no! Is there something wrong?! Is she alright?!"

"Yes, well, sh e's still in a lot of pain. But, she wants you to be there. I don't blame, I would want my wife there too."

Garnet gave a sigh of relief, "Okay." And they both left for the temple.

"Amethyst, I'm scared." Amethyst gave Steven a confused look, "Why?"

"What if Jade is wrong? What if we lose Pearl forever?!"

"Steven, we won't lose Pearl. I promise." She knew that Pearl wouldn't give up her physical form. The baby is going to be a new gem. But that little fear, left from Rose's departure, still lingered in her mind.

In the temple...

Another shriek went through the temple. The pain was unbearable! Pearl squeezed Garnet's hand with every contraction. The contractions were becoming more and more frequent. "Breathe, Pearl, breathe." Pearl was trying to keep her breathing under control.

Hours upon hours went by, then finally it happened. She screamed louder. "Push, Pearl!" Jade told Garnet to keep her calm.

"Pearl." Pearl looked up at Garnet, tears still running down her cheeks, "It is going to be okay. Just focus on me." Pearl nodded her head, "Now, breathe, just like Jade told you to do." Pearl breathed in heavily, then out. "Good, now does it feel a little better?" Pearl smiled a little and nodded her head again. She screamed again, but it was softer.

"I see a head!" Jade exclaimed happily. 'Yes, it's gonna be over soon!' Even though she was happy for Pearl, this experience had been tiring, maybe more exhausting than Rose's!

Then it was FINALLY over! Jade stood up with the infant in her hands. She wrapped a towel around the baby and handed he/she to Pearl.

Pearl cried tears of joy, her baby, she looked at Garnet, 'Our baby.' Even Garnet had tears in her eyes. "Well?"

"Well what?" Pearl focused her attention to Jade, "Is the baby a boy or a girl?" As Pearl unwrapped the infant she noticed the eudialyte gem on his, heart? Yes, a gem was on his heart, in the shape of a heart! "Oh my goodness! Garnet, look!" Garnet looked at the gem, "That's strange. I never seen a gem in the shape of a heart. I seen many different shapes, but a heart? This is the first."

Pearl looked a little lower, "It's a boy! Oh, won't Steven be happy!" She wrapped him back up and held him a little closer. Then she handed him to Garnet. The first thing she did was check his eyes, 'Thank God he doesn't have three!' When Garnet was younger, she was often picked on about her third eye, so she always wore shades.

"So what is his name?" Garnet thought about this a moment, "I think we should name him Jonah Eudialyte. It would make it easier to say his first name. But, eudialyte should be in there, I remember hearing something about eudialytes be associated with love. Which probably explains the heart-shaped gem."

Pearl smiled, she loved the name Jonah. It just stuck out to her, "I love it!" Garnet handed Jonah back to Pearl and said, "I'll be right back." She teleported down to the door, and invited Amethyst and Steven to come see the baby.

Garnet picked up Steven, because he teleport on his own.

"Oh my gosh! Look how cute he is!" Amethyst thought he was cutest thing ever! "Do you want to hold him?" At first Amethyst was shocked, but quickly said yes.

She sat down on the bed, and Garnet handed her the small infant. Steven was just as happy, not only did he still have Pearl, but he now had a baby brother! Steven sat on the bed next to Amethyst, he didn't care if he didn't get to hold the baby yet. Pearl sat up, she was still a little sore, but that didn't matter right now. "My turn!" Jade smiled, "I only got to hold him a little but before Pearl took him!" Pearl giggled a little, "Okay."

When Garnet decided that it was time for the baby to rest she said, "Alright, let's leave Pearl and Jonah to rest. They both have had a tiring day, so has Jade. Which I believe you need to take a shower?" Jade nodded and left with Amethyst and Steven.

Garnet laid Pearl down, and kissed her forehead. "Garnet, will you please stay with us?" Garnet smiled and said, "Of course I will." Pearl smiled, and laid Jonah down next to her. Garnet joined them with both girls on either side of Jonah, he fell into a deep slumber, without a care in the world.

Unknown location...

"Oh how cute! They think it's just a happy ending don't they!? HA! They think they can get rid of me that easy!? They have another thing coming! Perhaps I can use someone they love dearly, someone... easily persuaded, someone like... Jonah!" Peri fixed his prosthetic arm, making it more useful as he went over plan after plan to steal the baby, and make it his own. "Ah, finally. Now, to get to work!" He laughed evilly.
