Sorry this is kinda late guys, it's been a crazy couple of weeks.
Before I get started, THANK YOU SO MUCH to everybody who has supported this story all the way to this point. I know I say that every time, but I mean it. Your support means the world to me, and I am just so glad you all enjoyed the story so much—I had a really fun time writing it!
I don't own NCIS LA.
And as usual, enjoy!
Epilogue
1 year later…
Deeks groaned, rolling over in bed. He blinked his eyes several times, using the back of his hand to rub the sleep out of them. Once his vision had cleared, he looked over at the other—normally occupied—side of the bed.
"Kens?" he called out, clambering out of bed and pulling on a pair of sweats.
"In here," her voice called back form down the hall.
He padded barefoot towards the bathroom door, assuming that's where she was. He reached out for the knob when the door swung open and his wife of two months was revealed, standing in the doorway, wearing nothing but a white tank-top and black underwear. His face lit up at the sight of her. She looked beautiful—granted, she always looked beautiful, but this morning especially so. With her hair down in dark waves, smile playing on her lips, mismatched eyes sparkling, she practically glowed.
"You're in a particularly good mood this morning," he grinned cheekily. "One of the perks of being married to me, I suppose,"
Kensi rolled her eyes, but the smile stayed plastered on her face.
"No snarky comeback?" he raised his brows, surprised. "Wow, you really are in a good mood. You gonna tell me what it is that's got you so chipper, or I am gonna have to guess?"
Kensi opened her mouth to speak, but Deeks held up a hand to stop her.
"Wait, I got it," he said, ignoring Kensi's mildly irritated look as she put her hands on her hips. "You found the stash of Twinkies I hid away,"
She shook her head. "Not even close."
"You bought donuts. I hope you're gonna share with me. I am actually a little hungry,"
"Deeks—"
"Does it involve food in any way?"
"Deeks!" Kensi gasped in exasperation. "Are you gonna shut up so I can tell you?"
He scratched his jaw, giving her an innocent look. "I dunno…guessing is more fun."
Kensi gave him a look and he knew he should probably let her speak before she went and got her gun.
"Okay, what is it?" he relented.
Kensi took a deep breath, the smile she'd been wearing earlier lighting up her features again. "I'm pregnant."
It took Deeks a good minute to process those two words. Kensi just looked at him, her smile slowly fading as he continued not to say anything.
She took a step towards him, her joy being replaced with concern. "Deeks—?"
Her question was cut off as Deeks closed the remaining space between them, wrapping his arms around her and spinning her around. She laughed and the sound was almost as musical as the two words she'd said a minute before. When he set Kensi down, Deeks didn't even give her time to speak before he kissed her.
"You're pregnant?" he smiled, touching his forehead to hers.
"Yeah," Kensi smiled back. "A little better than it being donuts, right?"
He kissed her softly again. "So much better than donuts," he whispered.
And that is the end, my friends! I know this was really short, but I hope you guys liked it nonetheless =)
Now I'm sure many of you will be wondering about a sequel of some sorts…honestly, I'm not sure yet if I will do one, but it's always a possibility. I will post another Author's Note to this story with any news that I have about a sequel or a different story, so just keep on a look out for that =)
Please review! It really does mean a lot, and I can't say that enough! Thank you everybody for the support, whether you read this from the beginning or are just discovering it today, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
