Rogue didn't want it to be awkward between them that night, but it was, for her at least. Sitting up in bed, Rogue watched as the bathroom door opened and Gambit walked out in his sweat pants. He smiled at her as he ran his fingers through his wet hair before he walked over to the other side of the bed and sat down. Making sure the alarm was off, put his legs under the covers and turned to Rogue.

"Night, chere." He said, leaning in to kiss her.

"Remy?" She asked, causing him to stop.

"Mm hmm?" He asked, lips still slightly puckering for a kiss.

She smiled at his goofy face and leaned in, fulfilling his desire before she pulled away and leaned against her right hand. "How many times have ya gone out thieving durin' tha night?" She asked.

He raised an eyebrow. "B'fore o' after we got toget'er?" He asked, running the back of his fingers up her arm.

"Both?" She asked, looking into his eyes.

Leaning back against the headboard, he sighed and shook his head. "Dozens o' times?" He guessed, shrugging his shoulders. "Mos'ly before us, t'ough." He said, returning to run the back of his fingers up her arm. "Why?"

She shook her head. "Just curious." giving him a big smile, she placed her hand on the side of his face. "Ah love ya." She said, leaning in and kissing him before she pulled away. "Goodnight."

Turning her back to him, she lied on her left side. "Dat's it?" He asked, leaning over and looking at her face.

Looking to her right, she saw his face and chuckled. "What?" She asked.

Kissing her shoulder, he ran his hand over her stomach before cupping her right breast. "T'ought y' was in de mood fo' mo' dan kissin'." He said, kissing her neck.

She giggled at the sensation of his lips on her neck before she gently pushed him up and looked into his eyes. "Listen, we have sex every night, ah'm gonna be exhausted and useless on missions." She said, making him smile.

"How else I suppose t' keep my abs lookin' like dis?" He asked, making her laugh out loud.

"Shut tha hell up." She laughed, playfully slapping his face. "Goodnight, Remy."

"Night." He said, kissing her shoulder one last time before he cuddled close.

Waking up in the middle of the night, he was suddenly extremely thirsty and needed some water. Getting out of bed carefully, he quietly made his way into the hall and down stairs where he walked into the kitchen and turned the light on. Opening the fridge, he grabbed two bottled waters before closing the door.

"Why y' stalkin' me?" He asked, looking at the entrance of the kitchen to see Wolverine leaning against the frame with his arms crossed.

"What are you doin' up?" He asked.

Raising an eyebrow, Gambit lifted the bottles. "Gettin' water." He said. "Wha' are you doin' up?"

"Heard a noise outside and figured it was you." He said, pushing off the frame.

Gambit smirked. "I ain' dat sloppy,." He said, seeing Wolverine smirk back.

"Most of the time I can't hear you, but I can sure smell that cheap ass cologne you wear." He said.

"Dat cheap ass cologne is wha' Anna got me fo' Christmas." Gambit said, seeing Wolverine chuckle.

"True." He said. "So, how long you two suspended?"

Gambit shrugged. "Don' know." He said. "I guess until papa say we's ungrounded."

They shared a chuckle. "Cyke is too high strung." Wolverine said. "Needs to learn to fucking relax."

"Y' can say dat again." Gambit said, seeing Rogue come around the corner.

"There ya are." Rogue said, a relieved look on her face.

"Désolé." Gambit said, holding the bottles up. "Jus' gettin' some water. Den we started talkin'."

"Civilly?" She asked, smiling at Wolverine and adding a wink. "My, my. Miracles do happen."

Wolverine chuckled. "I heard a noise outside and thought it was Gumbo sneaking out again." He said as Rogue hugged herself and walked over to Gambit.

"Well ah hate ta break up tha conversation but ah woke up 'cause ah'm cold." She said as she looked up at Gambit. "Get ya ass back in bed." She said, making them laugh.

"Yes ma'am." He said, wrapping his left arm around her as he lifted the bottles to Wolverine. "Night."

"Night." He answered as they head upstairs.

Dropping the cigarette butt to the roof, Gambit put out the glowing embers with his shoe before he released the smoke from his lungs and climbed back into the window. Rogue was propped up on her right side and watching him with a smile. Closing the window, he turned to her before kicking his shoes off and climbing back in bed.

She couldn't help but take in a deep breath of his scent. Cigarette and cologne clashed together to make his unique smell. It was something she had grown to love and it was comforting, calming her as she closed her eyes and rest her head on his chest. Sitting there for several minutes, Rogue finally pulled away and smiled up at him as she got out of bed.

"Ah'm gonna get cleaned up." She said as she head into the bathroom where she started up the shower.

Stripping from her tank top and shorts, she felt the water before the got in the shower. Doing her daily shower routine, she finished up a while later and got out after killing the water. Drying off, she head into the bedroom to see Gambit dressed and sitting on the bed playing some kind of card game. He looked up and smiled at her as she walked over to her dresser and opened the top drawer. Getting clothes on, she walked back into the bathroom to dry her hair. Letting it do its own thing, she placed a small amount of gel in her hair to make sure it wouldn't frizz out on her.

Gambit noticed her pause while she looked in the mirror. "Somet'in' wrong?" He asked.

Rogue turned around. "Jean wants us in tha War Room." She said, looking him in the eyes.

"So, we's ungrounded?" He asked, gathering the cards and standing, placing the deck in his front right pocket.

"Ah don't know, but we need ta get down there. She used our code names." She said, motioning for him to follow her. "Let's go, hun."

They walked into the War Room and found they were the first ones there, aside from Jean and Cyclops. "Thanks for hustling." Cyclops said as they took a seat at the far end.

"Of course." Rogue said as she got comfortable in the chair and crossed her right leg over her left.

It wasn't but a few minutes later that everyone started to pour in. Once the last of them arrived, Cyclops stood up straight and cleared his throat to get everyone's attention.

"Good morning." He started and then cracked a smile. "I've called you all here, because we got our new uniforms in."

"Even me?" Jubilee asked wide-eyed.

"Yep." Cyclops said. "You're apart of the team, right? So you get a uniform."

"Awesome!" Jubilee said with excitement.

"I'm going to pass them out." Jean said as she walked over to a box and started to take out the uniforms that were folded up and air locked inside a bag.

Rogue reached over and took Gambit's left hand. "Ah'm excited ta see them." She said softly.

Glancing at her Gambit slightly frowned. "Don' like change. 'Specially when it come t' m' unifo'm." He said, feeling Rogue give his hand a light squeeze.

"Ah know, but they ain't gonna steer ya wrong, sugah." She said.

"We aren't sabotaging you in any way." Cyclops said. "I know you had a special armor on your old suit and we've taken that into consideration. I hope you're happy with what we've done with your's."

Cyclops grin caused Gambit to raise an eyebrow and smirk. "Now I be curious." He said as Jean walked over and handed him his.

Looking at the front and back of the package, he saw that you couldn't see anything through the white bag. Shrugging lightly, he sat it in his lap.

"Open it." Rogue said, getting his attention. "Ya said ya were curious."

"Yeah, Gambit. Let's see it!" Jubilee said with a smile on her face.

He let go of Rogue's hand and ripped open the bag. "Qu'avons-nous ici?" He said as he unfolded it and held it up.

"Ooh." Rogue said as he reached out and took the dark gray sleeve. "Ah love that." She said.

He looked over the deep purple chest that came to a point at the abdomen. Looking closer, he could see the armor at the most vital parts of the front. Checking the arms and thighs, he found pockets and smirked when he remembered he told Jean about them.

"It'll do." He said, folding it down into his lap. "No mo' head gear, I take it?"

Jean shook her head. "We needed to get you up to date with everyone else." She said, giving him a playful wink.

He chuckled as he watched Jean hand Rogue her uniform. "Lord, ah'm kinda nervous." She said as she ripped open the bag.

Placing his hand on the bag to stop her, Gambit looked at Jean. "If it ain' green, I'm leavin'." He joked.

"You'll be pleasantly surprised." Cyclops said with a smile.

Rogue laughed. "Get ya hands off." She said as she took the uniform out and held it up.

"Sexy." He said, taking the right sleeve. "Dis I wanna see on y', chere."

Looking over the new uniform, Rogue gave him a smirk. "Well, maybe we can have a go in tha Danger Room later." She said.

"Rematch!" Jubilee said from across the table. "Let's do it!"

"I would like to see how these perform." Cyclops said, crossing his arms. "How about a team training this evening? Anyone opposed?"

Everyone shook their heads.

"Great. Seven o'clock." He said as Jean handed him his uniform.

"Speakin' of." Rogue said, setting the uniform in her lap and looking at Cyclops. "When are we unsuspended? Ah'm gettin' stir crazy and it's only been a couple days."

"Well, you two were suppose to be on patrol." Cyclops said. "So, after we're done here I want you both to make sure the students are where they're suppose to be. Once that's done, come see me in Jean's office."

Rogue sighed. "Alright." She said, looking down at her uniform.

Gambit nudged her with a smirk. "We make it fun, eh?"

"Just make sure you get the job done in a reasonable amount of time." Cyclops said.

"Are we allowed at tha training this evening?" Rogue asked.

"Of course." Cyclops said. "I said team training. Not Team, except Rogue and Gambit."

Rogue gave him a sassy grin. "Ah look forward ta it, sugah." She said, seeing him smile back.

"Alright, dismissed." Cyclops said as they all head out and toward the elevator.

"How 'bout we go model these fo' each ot'er, eh?" Gambit suggested, standing beside Rogue in the elevator.

Rogue looked up at him and smirked. "Ya heard what Scott said." She said.

"Yeah, Romeo." Jubilee said looking behind her. "You'll see the uniform on her this evening. Sheesh!"

Rogue chuckled and looked up at Gambit with a 'take that' expression before facing the door of the elevator. Giving a smirk, Gambit dropped his hand and firmly squeezed her right buttock causing her to slightly jump at the unexpected touch.

"Dammit, Remy." She said with a playful grin as she lightly shoved him against the elevator wall as it opened.

He chuckled as they exited the elevator and head up to their room to drop the suits off before they went to do their patrol. Walking towards Jean's office, Rogue saw Gambit leaning against the door frame waiting for her.

She smirked as she walked closer. "Did ya even do what ya were asked?" She asked.

He smirked back as he stood up straight when she finally got to the door. "O' course. Ever'one where dey s'posse t' be." He said, motioning for her to enter. "After y', mon amour."

As they entered, they saw Cyclops and Jean at her desk. "That didn't take you two long." Cyclops said as he smiled. "Alright, I need the jet washed and the windows of the mansion cleaned."

Rogue looked up at Gambit. "Which one do ya want?" She asked, placing her hands on her hips.

He shrugged. "Don' matter t' me." He said, looking down into her green eyes.

"Here." Cyclops said, pointing at Rogue. "Since you can fly, you take the windows. Gambit will wash the jet. Once you're done, come find me."

"Alright." Rogue said as they head out of Jean's office and toward the garage. "Ah'm gonna fill up my bucket in there first before ah head out."

"Sounds good." Gambit said as he opened the garage door and let her enter first.

Walking over to the cleaning supplies, she grabbed a large bucket and filled it with water. Making sure to add a bit of the window cleaner inside, she then grabbed the large squeegee before she turned and winked at Gambit. He watched as she head out and flew up out of his sight before filling his own bucket. Grabbing the cleaner and wax, he threw the towels over his shoulder and head down to the lower levels where the hangar was.

"Done." Gambit said, causing Cyclops to look up from talking with Jean.

"Great." Cyclops walked closer to him, grabbing a large nine by twelve envelope off of the desk. "I want to to deliver the deposit."

"Did I just hear that right?" Wolverine grunted behind them in the hallway. "You want this thief to deposit Charles' money? You're out of your goddamn mind."

"Logan," Jean began as she met then at the doorway. "He's apart of this team and can be trusted."

"I don' gotta prove nothin' to you, homme." Gambit said, taking the envelope from Cyclops and turning to face him. "Can come wit' me if y' want. Make sure I be on m' bes' behavior."

"Ah'll go with ya, hun." Rogue said loud enough for them to look at her as she walked up to them. "Ah'm all done and besides, ah think it'll be safer."

"Great." Jean said with a smile as Rogue hooked her arm around Gambit's. "Here's the deposit key. Just use the night drop."

"Y' got it." Gambit took the key and put it in the pocket of his pants. "Be back in a bit."

Walking to the garage, they got inside the convertible, dropped the top and head toward the bank. Turning on to the main road, Rogue dropped her left hand to rest on Gambit's thigh. He glanced at her and smirked as he turned into the plaza where the bank was. Pulling up to the business window, he opened the night deposit box and dropped the envelope in before locking it and pulling away. Parking at the far end of the plaza under a large tree, he put the top up before he killed the engine.

"What tha hell could be on ya mind now?" She asked, seeing him smirk as he turned to her.

"Was t'inkin' we could have a li'l fun b'fore we head back." He reached over and gently ran his left hand over the side of her face. "Wha' y' say?"

She closed her eyes as his thumb raked over her bottom lip. "They'll know something's up if we aren't back in a reasonable amount of time." Her eyes opened once he removed his hand.

"We tell 'em we stopped t' get ice cream." He said, leaning closer and kissing her left cheek.

"We're in public." Rogue giggled as she gently pushed him away.

"Ain' no body gonna see us." He said, leaning in again. "Jus' a li'l makin' out, eh?"

Her eyes dipped down to his lips as she raked her teeth against her bottom lip. "Just a little." She said, leaning in and pressing her lips against his.

Cupping his face, she smiled when she felt him lean in closer to her. Trailing off to her right cheek and then her jaw, he started to kiss on her neck.

"Damn." She softly said as she ran her fingers through his hair.

He chuckled as he pulled away and looked into her eyes. "Y' like dat?" He asked, that smirk on his face.

"Ah think we should take it back ta our room." She said, placing her hand on the side of his face and guiding him in for another kiss. "We've got plenty of time before tha training this evening."

"T'ink we can sneak in without them seein' us?" He asked, taking her hand and kissing her fingertips.

"Sure as hell try to." She said as they buckled up and head back toward the mansion.

Parking in the garage, they got out and quickly head inside. Hand in hand, they made their way down the hall and toward the stairs.

"Remy." They turned around to see Jean walking toward them. "Mind if I borrow your lady for a bit?"

Raising an eyebrow, he gave a smirk at Rogue before he looked back at Jean. "Long as y' have her back b'fore dark." He said.

"Don't worry. She'll be back way before then." Jean said.

"Ah'll see ya later." Rogue said, planting a kiss on Gambit's lips before turning and walking down the hall with Jean. "What's this about?"

"Well, I need you to run with me to the storage building. I've got to take a lot of stuff over there." She explained as they head into her office.

"Ah'm missin' out on some hot lovin' for this." Rogue winked as she saw the boxes stacked at the far right.

"I'll make sure we're quick, then." Jean said as she stopped in the middle of the office. "Interesting that you two were going to run off instead of check in to see if there was anything else needed by Scott."

"Remy's very persuasive." Rogue chuckled. "Ah'm sure there's a lot more Scott could have for us ta do." She said, walking over and stacking the first couple of boxes. "It's a beautiful day out."

Jean smiled. "It is." She said as they took several boxes to the garage and loaded up the van. "I've been thinking about having a student versus faculty basket ball game. We need something for the students to do."

"That would be fun." Rogue said as she closed the side door to the van. "Maybe this weekend we can do that."

"I'll get the kinks worked out and make the announcement." Jean said, walking into her office and gathering more boxes with her powers. "Do you think Logan and Remy could play nicely together?"

Smacking her teeth, Rogue picked up another stack of boxes. "There's no telling." She said as they walked back down to the garage. "Ah mean, last night ah found 'em chattin' it up in tha kitchen. They were even smiling."

"Sounds like a miracle." Jean joked.

"That's exactly what ah said." She chuckled. "As much as Remy loves to get on Logan's last nerve, he can act like an adult. More so than Logan, that's for damn sure."

Jean chuckled as they head back to her office for the last bit of boxes. "Well, we'll see how they work together on a basketball team."

Taking a long drag, Gambit blew the smoke slowly out of his lungs as he watched several students play basketball. He had needed this cigarette badly and it was his second of the day, so he figured it was deserved. Flicking the ashes off the end, he crouched down by the tree he was standing under and took another slow drag before looking back at the mansion. How long was Jean gonna keep Rogue from him?

Letting out a sigh, along with the smoke he just inhaled, he looked up at the leaves that were moving with the slight wind. It was a beautiful day out and nothing was scheduled until later that evening. He was actually looking forward to the training session. He was kind of excited to see how the new uniform performed and he couldn't wait to see Rogue's on her. That looked sexy as hell right out of the bag. Once it was hugging her body, he didn't know if he'd be able to concentrate on their training. Especially if they were on the same team.

His thoughts were disrupted as he heard someone approaching from behind. Glancing over his left shoulder, he saw Kitty heading closer to him. Sighing, he let out the smoke he had just inhaled before hearing her right behind him.

"Hey." She said in her cheery voice.

"Hey." He said back, slightly turning to her.

"I'm surprised you aren't out there playing ball." Kitty said, crossing her arms.

"Eh," He started, placing the cigarette between his lips and let it hang. "I ain' inta playin' wit' de kids."

Kitty rolled her eyes. "They aren't kids. They're teenagers. Some are even adults." She said.

Taking a puff, he turned his head and blew the smoke away from her. "Maybe nex' time." He said, looking down at the petite woman. "Once Anna's done with Jean, we gonna be busy fo' a while."

Kitty lightly laughed and rolled her eyes. "Well, have fun. I'll see you two tonight at the training, then. Don't wear yourselves out." She said, giving him a wave before she head back toward the mansion.

Why did she even come around to chat with him? That was very unlike her. Kitty never talked to him. Then again, he never reached out to anyone. Maybe Rogue was right. Maybe he did need to be more open about the people here and let them in.

"Eh." He said to himself as he placed the cigarette back between his lips, letting it hang as he watched the students continue their basketball game.

"Lost in thought?" Rogue asked as she walked up behind him.

Looking over his shoulder, Gambit gave her a smirk. "There she is." He said, turning to her and holding out his hand for her to take.

"What have you been doing?" Rogue asked, taking his hand and walking closer to him.

"Jus' killin' time, waitin' for you." He said, pulling her close before taking the cigarette out of his mouth and nestling his lips against her forehead.

"Still wanting sex aren't ya?" She asked, looking up at him with a playful smile.

Giving her a playful grin back, he brushed some hair out of her face. "When do I not?" He asked.

"Good point." She said, moving closer and pressing herself against him. "Let's say we head up stairs as soon as possible and unseen so we can have a few hours to ourselves."
