Immortal

A universe of wonder far above,
Explored by men and women down below;
A secret team, close bound by broken love
To save the world from time's unceasing foes.

The doctor, with his hands that bless and bind;
The genius, with her tech and clever maths;
The heart, with eyes that see and yet are blind;
The support, with endless sorrow in his past.

The hero, deathless, dying for his cause,
Leading them through each and every fight;
Always loving, suffering such loss,
As each one too soon passes into night.

Friends and lovers, all now dead and gone,
And only he forever carries on.
