Chapter 2

The sun was high in the sky.

Wolfram winced. He tried not to let it show, but it did.

Giliana sat in front of him. She was carefully, and as gently as possible, she wrapped bandages around his stomach. Hopefully that would mean the wound would stop bleeding now.

"How is that?" she said.

Wolfram looked down at the bandage. It wasn't too tight, nor was it loose. It was perfect.

"It's alright," he said with a nod of the head, "Thank you."

Giliana smiled, "I will apply more salve on your stomach later. The pressure of the ribbon will help it heal," she said while tying the ribbon up.

Wolfram nodded. He wore similar clothes to Giliana. He had came to learn it as 'priestess' clothes. White and red. He hardly wore red, normally blue…He shook his head to clear his thoughts and looked through the open door.

"What are they doing?" He asked.

Giliana glanced at the villagers rushing back and forth, "They're building the huts destroyed by Mrs Centipede," she explained.

"Was she really after my blood?" Wolfram frowned, "I mean did my blood really make her stronger?"

Giliana put away her medical pot. She hummed softly, "It would seem so. I believe you may have something called Shikon blood."

"Shikon blood?" Wolfram repeated, "I've…I've never heard of that before…"

"It is rare but I'm surprised you've never heard of it before," Giliana said, "Everyone knows of it and yes, some believe Shikon blood is nothing but stories, legends and myths. Or it was until Lady Kikyo."

Wolfram blinked. Lady Kikyo? He wanted to ask who that was but decided not to.

"Some says Shikon blood can make a mere mortal a god," Giliana chuckled.

Wolfram frowned. He bites his bottom lip, if Shikon blood was that powerful then why was it running through his veins?

"Demons and human alike will come for you. They will want Shikon blood to fill their sickened, twisted, and greedy fantasies," Giliana stated.

Wolfram gulped. He nervously looked down, and shivered. Why did this happen to him? He was dealing with life, why did it have to throw something like this into his face. He wanted to curl up and let the world swallow him full.

"If I have, er, Shikon blood…then does that mean my family does as well? My mother and father?" he asked.

"No," a familiar voice grumbled, "It doesn't work like that."

Wolfram felt his eyes twitch, "Shut up. I'm not talking to you," he hissed.

Yuuri's look alike rolled over to look at Wolfram. His dark eyes wide, sweet and so-so innocent. Much like Yuuri's own eyes. It was the look. The look Yuuri used on Wolfram to get what he wanted.

It took Wolfram's whole will power not to tremble. Those eyes, they was his biggest weakness.

Yuuri knew that too.

"You know, being petty is so exhausting," he chimed with a casual shrug.

Wolfram blinked once then twice, "I am not being petty!" he snapped in annoyance, "How dare you mark me, without my permission."

Wolfram's hand reached up to cover the bite mark on his neck.

"I don't want to be engaged," he added with a frown, "I don't want to marry somebody I don't know…"

The dark haired boy frowned, "We'll get to know eachother, then you won't be marrying somebody you don't know. Besides, what do you mean without permission? If I recall you slapped me," he said.

"I slapped you because you was hurting me," Wolfram huffed, "How was I suppose to know it meant I was accepting a marriage proposal…"

He winced. How ironic was his words. They was almost exactly the same words Yuuri said about their engagement. It was an accident.

Wolfram wondered if this was how Yuuri felt…guilt. It crawled around in the pit of his stomach. It must have been awful. Wolfram must have been terrible to stand…

The look alike 'tusked' and rolled his eyes. His tail lazed behind him as he stared at Wolfram.

"Oh and that's my fault?" he asked, "I'm sorry you didn't know about marriage proposals, but it's too late. You accepted my proposal, and it is now impossible to break it."

Wolfram frowned deeply. He raised an eyebrow, "Impossible? Nothing is impossible. Especially an engagement," he said.

There had to be a way to break it. He couldn't handle another engagement. Not so soon, and specially to somebody who looks identical to his ex-fiancé. It is not something he wishes to experience.

Giliana awkwardly glanced around, "Well, the only other way to break an mated engagement is if both parties agree to break it. The one who produced the mark has to be the one to remove it," she explained.

Wolfram looked at Giliana thoughtfully, "So then, once the demon takes the mark back, I'm free?" he asked.

"In all sense, yes," Giliana said.

Wolfram felt a small burst of hope fill him. He, admittingly, looked over to the demon that had marked him with excitement.

"No," the demon said.

Wolfram blinked, "What?"

Giliana sighed, "Unfortunately both parties need to want to break the engagement," she said.

"I don't want to break it," Yuuri's look alike said.

Wolfram stared at the demon boy. He felt his lips part, and his jaw almost dropped.

"Why!" he cried.

The dark haired cat demon shrugged. He turned away with a soft hum.

Wolfram felt his blood boil. Anger filled him. He wanted nothing more then to summon a fire ball or two and throw it into that stupid cat's face.

"There is one way other way to break an engagement to a demon," Giliana said, "But it's a lot of pain, and some say it can result in death."

"In death?" Wolfram asked.

How can breaking an engagement result in death? Wolfram doesn't understand. He had a feeling this place wasn't as near civil as Shin Makoku.

"There really isn't another way out?" Wolfram said.

Giliana smiled weakly. She gently patted Wolfram on the shoulder as she stood, "Sadly no," she said.

Wolfram groaned. He huffed and stubbornly crossed his arms. His lip twisted into a displeased pout.

"How painful could the other method be?" he wondered out loud, "Surely it can't be that bad…"

It was then that the look alike suddenly moved. Within a blink of an eye, he had crossed the small distant between the two and was practically in Wolfram's personal space. He was crouching down with his tail almost touching Wolfram's cheek.

"Why do you want to break it so badly?" he asked quietly, "Maybe I can make you happy?"

Wolfram stared in surprise. His eyes widened, and he tried not to stare to long into the black eyes. They was so very similar that it made his heart skip a beat.

"I don't know you," Wolfram said quietly.

The cat demon boy tilted his head, "But you can get to know me," he said.

Wolfram stared. What was Yuuri's look alike suggesting? His hands shook, did he even know what he was saying? Did he know what those words sounded like?

"I'm not terrible," the boy added, "I'm sure you'll like me even if given a chance."

Wolfram let out a shaky breathe. Was this a dream?

It was everything Wolfram had always wanted to hear. He had always wanted to hear Yuuri say that, say something like that. His chest hurt at the thought of it.

He went to open his mouth but nothing came out. Instead he inhaled sharply and looked away. He lightly slapped Yuuri's lookalike's hand away from his face.

It hurt.

"Do not touch me," Wolfram found himself saying instead.

The boy narrowed his eyes. He frowned deeply. Instead of moving away, he grabbed ahold of Wolfram's wrist. He pulled Wolfram close to him and then bites into the familiar soft skin of Wolfram's throat.

His teeth bites into the already visible bite mark.

Wolfram froze. His face flushed and he felt his body heat rise. Dare he even say it felt…no. No. He wasn't going to go that way. Instead he tried to push the other boy off him.

"G-Get off me," he gasped.

The Yuuri lookalike somehow was able to fight back. Wolfram tried to push him off, so the cat boy held on tighter until the two was rolling across the floor.

Wolfram was out of breathe when he finally was able to push the demon off him. He was panting heavily, with his hands shaking and stomach aching. He blinked his tired eyes.

"If all you wanted was to be on top, you should have just said so," Yuuri's lookalike hummed.

Wolfram frowned. His cheeks was still painted pink, "You're not funny," he said.

The demon boy smiled that smile. The smile that made Wolfram weak. Made him want to give in and do whatever Yuuri had asked.

"I wasn't trying to be," the boy said.

Wolfram snorted, "Could have fooled me," he said.

The other smiled wider. He hummed sweet, and when he decided he had stayed still long enough, he leaned forward to lick Wolfram's nose.

It had happen all of a sudden that Wolfram stilled. He froze above him. His eyes wide and unmoving. It was almost like his brain had short-circuited and was taking sometime to reboot.

After a full minute, Wolfram let out a high pitched squeal and threw himself backward. He scrambled away from the cat demon boy until his back touched the wooden wall. His left hand then flung up to cover his face.

"W-Why did you do that!" he yelled.

The boy, still smiling so innocently, shrugged casually, "Because I felt like it," he said.

"W-Well don't do it ever again!" Wolfram said.

"I can't make any promises," the other shot back.

Wolfram felt the annoyance fill him. He glared at the demon boy, and clenched his hands. It had always been him. Wolfram was the one calling upon the none-existing relationship and here, it was the other way around.

"Oi, why did you want my blood? Aren't you strong enough?" Wolfram decided ask.

From what he had seen, the Yuuri-lookalike was very powerful. He wondered if he was just as powerful as Yuuri was…

"It doesn't hurt being stronger," the boy said.

Giliana clicked her tongue, "And he is only half. I'm sure there are stronger demons around," she said.

The dark haired boy nodded, "That too," he hummed.

Wolfram nodded his head. He remembered Mrs Centipede calling him an 'half-demon'. She even made fun of him for being half.

"Now what?" Wolfram said softly.

He wanted to go home. Wanted to return to Shin Makoku. He was still hoping this was all a dream. He was hoping he would just wake up in his old bed back in the castle. Maybe it was his crazy mind forming this dream as a way to cope…

"Well," the cat demon boy said, "I don't know about you but I have to go and water a tree."

Wolfram blinked. He looked up at the boy and watched as he stretched his arms above his head. Yuuri's look alike even groaned, and as he stretched out his arms, his shirt raised a little to show some skin.

Wolfram tried not to stare at said skin.

"What do you mean?" he found himself asking instead.

The boy peered down at Wolfram. A black eyebrow raised, and his soft, cat like ears twitched upward. That smile was back again.

"If you must know, I gotta go take a leak," he said cheerfully.

Wolfram's face darkened. He gapped as the other boy exited the hut.

"I, er, what?" he mumbled in embarrassment.

Giliana put a hand to her head. She eased herself up and once again took ahold of her staff, "I'm afraid I have to leave you for now. It would seem my villagers need my guide," she smiled wistfully.

"I will see you later," she added.

Wolfram frowned. She was so much like Gisela, that it unnerved him. A freckled covered Gisela.

This world was just so…strange.

"Well I'm not going to sit around here doing nothing all day," Wolfram said softly, "I might as well explore the village and maybe find my way back to the well…"

Wolfram got to his feet. He slowly stepped outside the hut and looked around himself. It was as he remembered. The fast fields, large trees…with the destroyed buildings.

"Maybe…if I find the well, I can go home…" he breathed out.

The quicker he gets away from this…dream, the better.

He slowly stepped forward. Wolfram began to walk along the village trail, and his hand reached up to gently touch the bite mark. His lips twitched into a small pout.

Why did the clone like to bite him so much?

"No, he is drinking my blood," Wolfram whispered, "My blood is Shikon blood, it makes demons stronger…"

Wolfram sighed deeply. He closed his eyes, and just let himself to enjoy the brief summer breeze. It felt good. He didn't want to admit it, but it felt so much better then the breezes back in Shin Makoku.

It still smelled so much better.

"He's got what?"

Wolfram's eyes sprung opened.

"You sure? The last person to have that was High Priestess Kikyo."

"Hmm. It's what Lady Giliana said. Perhaps he is the High Priestess Kikyo's reincarnation?"

"…Now you've mention it, they kind of look similar, give him black hair and brown eyes, he'd look just like Kikyo..."

"Watch your language. It's Lady Kikyo for those who respect her!"

"Do you really think he is her reincarnation…?..."

Wolfram's heart skipped a beat. His eyebrows pulled together, and he glanced to the side. His lips twisted into a line. He peered off to the side to find a small crowd of villagers watching him, whispering to one another.

It was Kikyo again.

First Giliana, and now the villagers. Why was everyone comparing him to somebody he had never seen before. Shinou, Rufus, his mother…Wolfram understood how he could look like them…but apparently he looked like Kikyo as well.

Kikyo who has black hair and brown eyes. How…only the King could have black hair, so there was no way…right?

It was then that he realized the whispering had stopped. Wolfram blinked in surprise, and turned his head to look at the villagers again.

"W-What?" he gapped.

Now, Wolfram was Lady Cecilie's youngest child. He was a prince at one point, and then was supposed to be the royal consort to the Demon King. He was used to people always looking at him, commenting on his good looks and such.

He was used to people doing everything they can to get into his good books. Used to people trying to use him to get what they want.

He was use to being nothing.

Wolfram was not used to being worshiped.

He turned to look at the villagers to find them all lined up on the ground. All of them was in a line on their knees and hands. They was bowing their heads to him.

"I, er, you don't need to do that!" he squealed loudly, "I, um, get up-get up from the ground…"

'I'm not worth it.'

Wolfram shook his head. None of the villagers seemed to be listening to him. He could not stand watching them any longer. He turned around and blindly rushed off with his back straight.

He walked down another village trail. He stopped to watch woman and children working together to bring in food and water.

"E-Excuse me," a small voice whispered.

Wolfram felt a little small hand tug on his sleeve.

"Oh. Hello," Wolfram smiled.

It was the little boy from the night before. The small child that Mrs Centipede had almost killed. Wolfram was relived to see him looking healthy and happy.

"H-Hi," the child said, "I, um, thank you for saving me."

Wolfram chuckled. He crouched down to the small boy's height, "It's alright. I'm happy you're safe now," he said.

The little boy flushed, "I, um, p-please accept this token," he said.

Wolfram looked at the basket the boy was offering. It had fruit, and flowers. All of which looked nicely grown.

"T-They're from our-our farm patch," the little boy added.

Wolfram smiled. He didn't really want to take so much food from a child that clearly needed it more, but the little boy looked so hopeful. He ended up taking the basket carefully.

"Thank you," he said, "Thank you very much."

The small child smiled. His cheeks darkened and bowed, "You're welcome," he said proudly.

"Do you want an…apple?" Wolfram offered.

Or at least what he thought was an apple. The fruit and vegetables in the basket was all different colours from what he knew. Either way, he took what he thought was an apple. It had the same shape, but it was an orangish colour. It was different to the pink and purple apples back in Shin Makoku.

"O-Oh!" the little boy shyly smiled and happily took the apple.

Wolfram let out a soft chuckle. He smiled as he watched the little boy eagerly stumble away while biting into the apple.

"Excuse me!"

Wolfram almost jumped at the sudden voice. He turned around and felt his face pale. There was a rather large crowd of woman and children behind him. They all had baskets filled with all different types of goodies. All different kinds of fruits and vegetables.

He felt his jaw drop.

…and that was how Wolfram ended up way to many baskets to count.

Wolfram grunted softly. He was somehow balancing all the baskets in his arms. He had to get away from the villagers before they gave him even more stuff that he couldn't hold. He was able to somehow avoid running into any other villager, and found himself in the farmer fields.

He made his way to the tree on top of the hill.

"They're really are strange looking," he hummed.

He'd never seen goodies like this before, but he'd seen the villagers eating them. Red apples with yellow cloud markings, purple carrots, light pink radishes, dark blue bananas, and many, many more.

Wolfram picked up a light pink and blue radish. He turned it over in his hand. He wondered if it would taste good.

He suddenly heard a snort above him.

Yuuri's lookalike was sitting on the branch above him. It didn't seem like he had noticed Wolfram. He was sitting with his back to Wolfram.

Wolfram's eyes flickered with interesting idea. He had thought about trying to find Giliana, but he couldn't. He wasn't planning on finding the clone, but he just happened to come across him.

Might as well use it.

Wolfram throw the radish at the demon. Just as it looked like it was about hit him in the back of the head, a clawed hand suddenly caught the radish.

Wolfram puffed his cheeks out in frustration. How could the boy catch the vegetable without seeing it coming?

"Hey, where did you get all the food?" the demon asked, "You didn't steal it, did you?"

Wolfram glared up at him, "Of cause not! The villagers just gave it to me," he shrugged, "Anyway, I was going to ask if you wanted to eat with me?"

"I thought you didn't want anything to do with me," the dark haired boy asked.

Wolfram hummed softly. He shrugged, and sat down at the base of the tree. He decided not comment on that.

"Well, are you coming down or not?" he asked.

Wolfram almost thought the dark haired demon wasn't going to jump down and join him. He almost felt stupid. How many times had Wolfram begged Yuuri to have a simple lunch with him and how many times had Yuuri rejected it?

Only when Greta was involved would Yuuri do anything with Wolfram.

Greta…he had promised he would never leave her alone…but Wolfram is more then sure she would be happy with a real mother. A woman. Yuuri was going to marry a woman now. It was what Greta had always wanted.

A mother and a father.

Woman and man.

"Anything for you my beloved," the teasing voice chimed.

Woman blinked. He broke out of his thoughts and let out a soft gasp when the cat demon gracefully leaped down. He had landed without any problem in front of Wolfram.

"Hey, what's with that face?" he added, "I'm doing what you asked."

Wolfram shook his head, "It's not you," he mumbled.

Yuuri's lookalike frowned. His eyes narrowed and his fluffy ears twitched, "Then it's you?" he questioned, "Did something happen? Is that why you're so skittish?"

"It's nothing," Wolfram grumbled.

"It is clearly not nothing," the cat demon pouted. He leaned forward with his long tail flickering, "You're upset. Something's on your mind, tell me about it. It might help?"

Wolfram glared. His hand jerked with the urge to somehow burn the other, but he knew it was hopeless. He didn't have his fire anymore.

"Look, I don't want to talk to you of all people about this," he said.

The dark haired boy glared in return, "Me of all people? You have to accept we're tied together, weather you like it or not. You might as well try to work with me here," he hissed.

"Expect we're not tied together. This can be all over if you just take back the bite mark," Wolfram shot back, "But you won't. So no, I don't need to accept it. Just drop it okay."

The other boy sneered. He opened his mouth as if to shot back but decided against it. Instead he crossed his arms and just stared at Wolfram.

"What?" Wolfram snapped, "Oh my Shinou, I was just trying to be nice."

Yuuri's lookalike rolled his dark eyes, "Yeah, you was trying alright. I can't say you succeed in it," he grumbled.

Wolfram narrowed his eyes. He felt like he was about to explode, but didn't. He inhaled sharply and looked away from the clone. He couldn't stand this. He just wanted to be away from it all, not thrown into some kind of mirror reality.

But it really wasn't this…person's fault. Wolfram tried to see it from his perception.

"I'm sorry," Wolfram mumbled, "I know it isn't your fault. I'm just…taking my frustration out on you, and I shouldn't."

The demon boy blinked in surprise, "Ah. Oh. It's okay, I understand. I'm sorry too," he smiled.

Wolfram sighed softly. He nodded his head slowly and looked down at the basket of food closest to him.

"Let's just…try to tolerate one another," he said quietly.

He ten picked up a strange pink and blue looking vegetable. He held it to the other with a weak, and stain smile.

"My name is Wolfram," he added softly, "Um. Wolfram von Bielefeld."

The demon boy looked down at the vegetable with a small smile. He gently took the vegetable with a hum.

"What is a Bielefeld?" he questioned, "Why is it next to your name?"

Wolfram looked at the other in surprise, "It's my second name. My family name…?"

"A second name?" Yuuri's lookalike hummed as he bit into the vegetable, "Another name that people use to know you by?"

"Yeah, exactly," Wolfram smiled, "Bielefeld is actually land. My family named themselves after the, um, land."

The demon boy nodded his head. It was strange to watch Yuuri's mirror image soak up the information like a sponge. It was completely different to Yuuri, himself, who would sneak out and avoid learning.

"Yuu," the boy said quietly.

Wolfram blinked once and then twice, "I, um, what?" he said.

The demon boy clocked his head to the side. He peered at Wolfram with his dark eyes, "My name. I'm Yuu. Just Yuu, I have no…second name," he explained.

"…Yuu?" Wolfram repeated softly.

Yuu. It was so similar to Yuuri. Just hearing the name made his body tremble. His chest tightened, and his heart skipped a beat.

It was nice. He liked it.

"Ah. Yuu," Wolfram smiled shyly, "I like it. It…reminds me of somebody I used to know."

Yuu smiled in return. His fluffy cat ears twitched with happiness, "Wolfram. Wolf. I like your name too, it's cute," he said.

Wolfram felt his cheek burn.

"Give me a month," Yuu said.

Wolfram stared at Yuu in confusion. His heart was skipping a beat, and his cheeks darkened as he stared into Yuu's swirling pretty black eyes.

"Give me one month," Yuu repeated.

Wolfram breathed out, "One month?" he whispered, "For what?"

Yuu licked his top lip. His ears folded a little, and he looked up at the bright sky, "One month to…to make you love me, I guess. One month to show you that I can be a good mate," he said.

Wolfram's eyes widened.

"Once the month is up, and you still don't want to be mated to me…I'll take back the mark," Yuu said.

"R-Really?" Wolfram whispered.

Yuu nodded his head, "Yeah, I promise. Just one month is all I ask for Wolf," he said.

One month? Wolfram felt a bit light headed. Yuu was really asking for a month. One month and then he would take back the mate mark…he'll set Wolfram free.

"Alright," Wolfram smiled meekly.

Yuu looked over at Wolfram, "Yeah?" he asked.

Wolfram nodded and it made Yuu smile that smile. The smile that always made Wolfram weak to his knees.

"Just one month," Wolfram said, "I will give you one month, wimp."

The smile on Yuu's face immediately dropped. A cute pout took it's place, and his tail wrapped around his waste as he pouted at Wolfram.

"I'm not a wimp!" he cried.

Wolfram laughed. It was good! So good! Yuu was so like Yuuri, but yet wasn't. He honestly didn't mean to call him that, it just came out and Wolfram didn't really want to take it back.

He missed saying the word.

"Only a wimp would make that response," Wolfram grinned.

Yuu whined. He shifted closer to Wolfram's side, "I'm really not a wimp! I did save you from being mated to Mrs Centipede, remember!" he whimpered.

"Then tried to kill me after," Wolfram rolled his eyes, "Or at least attack me."

Yuu flushed himself. His ears twitched and awkwardly scratched at his cheek, "Mild calibration issue."

Wolfram scuffed but still smiled.

"Sure wimp," he said, "Keep telling yourself that."

Yuu huffed. He kept his mouth shut but Wolfram could clearly see he was still annoyed at being called wimp.

Maybe…just maybe Wolfram could handle this.

"Hey," he said after a long moment of silence, "Do you know anything about a High Priestess Kikyo?"

Yuu, who was munching on a large potato, looked at Wolfram, "Kikyo? I don't think so. Why?"

"People was saying…I'm her reincarnation," Wolfram said, "Even Giliana said I share the same likeness of her."

Yuu clicked his tongue, "Oh. Well I haven't really been around long enough to know anybody by the name of Kikyo, and that was before I was pinned," he said.

Wolfram nodded. He weakly looked at Yuu in wonder, "Why was you pinned to the tree?" he asked.

"That's…another story for another time," Yuu mumbled. He reached up to gently rub his chest. His clawed hand over the spot where the arrow must have been.

Wolfram opened his mouth, he wanted to know more. Why was Yuu pinned to a tree by an arrow? An arrow that burned Yuu if he tried to pull the arrow out. He had so many questions and just as he was about to ask, he changed his mind.

"Apparently Kikyo had Shikon blood as well," Wolfram found himself saying instead.

Yuu blinked in surprise, "She did?" he gapped, "That's surprising. To be frank, you're the first person I have really met with Shikon blood. I guess it might have been what woke me up."

"I don't really know anything about Shikon blood, or why it's in me of all people," Wolfram added, "Is it really that rare?"

Yuu nodded his head, "Rumours of Shikon blood has been around for…well much longer then I've been alive I suppose. There are so many myths and legends that it's difficult to know what is true and what isn't," he said, "To be honest I don't really know much about it."

"But I do know it's strong. It can change ones form, power and mind," Yuu said, "You are proof of that."

Wolfram nodded. He was a bit surprised that Yuu didn't know much about Shikon blood.

"Oh," Yuu suddenly said, "I do have an idea that might be able to help with the Shikon blood, but I can't really guarantee it will help. It's just stories but it is better than nothing."

Wolfram raised an eyebrow. He turned fully to Yuu, "What is it?" he asked.

"So, from what I remember, most of the rumours and stories originate from a village. I guess we can travel to the village and see if they can help?" Yuu suggested cutely. His long tail slowly wiggling lazily.

"Oh. That is a pretty good idea," Wolfram hummed with a hand to his chin, "What village is it?"

"Ah. The village calls themselves Hidden Green. It's one of the few Demon slaying villages around," Yuu said happily. He seemed pretty happy that Wolfram had said it was a good idea.

Wolfram almost wondered what Yuu would do if he petted him. He wondered if Yuu's hair was just as soft as a cat's fur?

"If it is a demon slaying village, won't they attack you?" Wolfram asked worriedly. He didn't want Yuu to be hurt.

Yuu blushed a little. He clearly heard the concern in Wolfram's voice, "Ah. Probably, but…we can cross that bridge when we get to it," he said bashfully.

Wolfram frowned. His stomach clenched at the thought of Yuu being hurt because of him. He awkwardly shifted.

"Well I don't want you to get hurt," Wolfram mumbled softly, "I mean, if they're a demon slaying village, I think it might be pretty dangerous…"

Also, he was pretty useless. Wolfram couldn't do anything to help either. Well, he was still rather good with a sword, maybe he could fine one somewhere? He had protected Yuuri to many times to count with just a sword…but Wolfram isn't sure how this world works.

Would a sword do anything against the demons of this world?

And this Shikon Blood thing he has. Wolfram had no idea how to use it. It comes and it goes.

"I'll be fine!" Yuu squealed with a wide smile, "I'm strong enough to handle them, and I can protect you if you're worried!"

Wolfram blinked at him. How ironic that Yuu was saying he would protect him when Wolfram always protected Yuuri. It was pretty strange.

However Wolfram found himself amused with how happy Yuu was with the fact Wolfram was worried.

He almost found it cute. Almost.

Yuu really did look so much like Yuuri.

Wolfram moved without thinking. He reached a hand out, and gently petted Yuu on the head.

Yuu stiffed. His eyes widened before his body slowly relaxed. He leaned into Wolfram's hand and a soft rumble sound came from the back of his throat.

"Are…" Wolfram began, "Are you purring?"

Yuu flushed brightly, "Um, no," he said as the sound got louder.

Wolfram smiled. He couldn't help it. He let out a soft laugh.

Yuu was definitely purring.

He didn't know how long they had been sitting there or when Wolfram had dozed off, but when Wolfram woke up, he knew it might have been longer than it should. At least the sun was still up.

Wolfram groaned softly. He stretched his back out and heard a soft crack. He rubbed his tired eyes. He felt something warm but heavy up against his side.

He turned his head to find soft black hair against his cheek. He blinked furiously in surprise. Wolfram slowly reached up and gently touched one of Yuu's black cat ears. He gasped softly when it fluttered between his fingers.

"You look exactly like Yuuri," he mumbled quietly, "I'm even in another engagement."

Wolfram sighed. He bet everyone was so worried about him. He had been gone for almost two days…he is sure they have noticed his disappearances by now. Gwendal at least should have as Wolfram had left the documents on his desk.

He felt his heart sink.

Poor Greta. His mother. Even his brothers. They all must be so confused.

"The well," Wolfram said, "I was pulled here by Mrs Centipede through the well…logically I should be able to get back home through the well."

If there was even a small chance of him getting home, Wolfram had to try it.

Wolfram looked at the forest named 'The Forest of the Demon'. The very same forest Yuu was pinned to the tree.

Yuu must have been there for sometime for the forest to be called after him.

If he recalled right, the well was inside the forest too. But first he had to wiggle out from underneath Yuu without waking him up. Wolfram thought about waking him up and taking Yuu with him, but well…how was he supposed to explain everything to Yuu?

He had promised a month but if he was able to get home…

Wolfram shook his head. He didn't want to think about it, instead, he gently eased himself out from under the cat demon.

"If I cant get home, no harm done…right?" he said to himself.

Wolfram started up to the forest. He carefully avoided tripping on any roots or branches, well, he tried anyway. He will never admit it, but he did in fact trip and fall face first.

Thankfully nobody was around to see him.

It was then that four strangely dressed men jumped from behind the tree line.

Wolfram's eyes widened as he was grabbed by the arms. He grunted, and struggled to pull himself free from the men's tight grip. He cursed his luck. This should not be happening. If he was back in Shin Makoku, Wolfram would have scared them away with just his sword…and then his fire.

How could he have become so useless?

"Oi! Stop moving!" one of the men growled, "Feisty thing, ain't he?"

Wolfram sneered through clenched teeth. Especially when the men laughed.

"Let's just hurry," another man said, "Boss is waiting."

The men all nodded in agreement. Wolfram was dragged against his will through the forest to a small shack hidden underneath two large trees.

Wolfram yelped as he was shoved down. He winced as he barely was unable to catch himself.

"Hey boss?" one of the men chimed, "We caught the boy, just like you said we should."

"It's a boy?" another man mumbled.

The other man shrugged, "I thought it was a woman but apparently it's a he."

Wolfram flushed with anger.

A sudden hand grabbed onto his shorts and tug. A man giggle, "Look. That's the shortest miko shorts I've ever seen. You're going to catch a cold like that," He gaggled.

"Don't do that. You'll rip it!" Wolfram gasped.

The men laughed, "What's the matter princess? Our hands too dirty for yah?"

Wolfram glared at them. He tried to back up but his back bumped something hard. Wolfram froze and slowly peered behind himself.

A rather large man towered over him. Dark eyes stared down at Wolfram with a twisted smirk.

Wolfram felt sick just by looking at them. Something was very-very wrong with this man. He even smelled half dead and Wolfram had been around a few dead things in his life.

The man took a slow step. His full body dipping backward before forward. His arm flopping high above his head with an old rusty looking sword in his grip.

"Boss! Boss! Where are you aiming? He's the one you want!" One of the men screamed in horror.

Boss without so much as a blink, brought down the sword. Instead of slicing through Wolfram's body, just as it was about to hit one of Boss's own men, Wolfram shoved the man out of the way.

Wolfram gasped, "Wait!" he growled with anger.

"Can't you tell there's something wrong with your boss? Now get your butts in gear or next it'll be you. Now do I have to tell you everything?!" He hissed.

Wolfram then did his best to avoid Boss's sword.

"I can't believe I'm playing duck-duck-duck goose with a eight foot troll!" Wolfram groaned.

Boss tumbled forward. His large body loosing balance and slamming into one of the pillars.

Wolfram panted. He turned towards one of the men trapped underneath the wooden pillar. Poor sab, he didn't even see Boss crash into another pillar.

"Are you alright?" Wolfram said.

The man wheezed, "I'll be alright, thanks," he said in pain.

Wolfram snorted. He really doubted that. He had seen many horrible wounds in his time. The injury the man had wasn't going to heal easily.

He was somehow able to dragged the injured man out the way when Boss charged at them again. This time Boss slammed his shoulder into one of the walls and created a large crack.

Boss didn't stay put of course. He was up again within seconds and charging at them again.

"The wall! Push it out, all at once!" Wolfram yelled.

"Got it!" the men yelled loudly. "Sorry Boss, no good!"

Wolfram felt his eyes twitch. He was honestly surprised the men wasn't strong enough to push the wall out.

"What did you call me? I'm not your Boss," he growled.

Thought, Wolfram tried to hid the small pinch of pleasure he got from it. He did have his own team back home but Wolfram knew Gwendal gave the team to him to distract him.

Just something to keep him out of Gwendal's hair…Wolfram's team wasn't taken seriously because it wasn't a serious team.

"Boss! Look out!"

Wolfram snapped out of his thoughts. He felt all his hair stand on end, and he turned around. His heart fell to his stomach.

Boss was standing behind him. His large form towering over Wolfram with his sword held directly above Wolfram.

"Wolfram!"

Yuu crashed through the cracked wall effortless. He landed on his feet like a cat.

"Something smells off…" Wolfram mumbled after a moment of silence.

Yuu grunted. He turned around, and easily dodged the man's attack. He cracked his clawed hand before striking Boss across the head. It was enough to send Boss to the ground with a loud thud.

Boss did not get back up again.

Wolfram slowly stepped up to the man, "He smells…bad," he said.

Yuu blinked. His cat ears twitched before he sniffed, "It's rotting flesh," he said.

Yuu snarled. His lips twisted together and he reached out to grab onto the armour around Boss chest. He yanked it off Boss's body and revealed the most disgusting thing Wolfram had ever seen.

A large gapping whole. Blood was gushing around Boss chest from the wound. The whole is where the heart should have been. Hidden inside the shadows of the whole was two beady red eyes glaring at Yuu and Wolfram.

"What is that?" Wolfram asked.

Yuu hummed, "How do you want to bet the bird ripped his living heart out and made itself a nice, cosy nest?" he questioned.

"I'll never look a birds the same way again…" Wolfram whispered, "So the bird made him a puppet."

Yuu nodded his head, "Pretty much. It is a Death Bird Demon. They like to use corpses to hide or attack other prey. They're not tough, but hell are they nasty!" Yuu growled.

In a blink of eye, Yuu moved so fast and impaled Boss's chest with his claw. As soon as he shoved forward, the bird demon let out a loud shriek and fled out the back.

Wolfram watched as the Death Bird Demon escaped through the opening that Yuu had made. It disappeared through the whole and out into the forest.

"Where did you go?" Yuu said, "I woke up and you was gone! Do you have any idea how worried I was?"

Wolfram was taken back. He had never had Yuuri react like this. Yuuri had almost seemed to not really care. He cared about everyone but Wolfram.

"I…" Wolfram opened his mouth, "I didn't realize I had to let you know if I was going somewhere."

Yuu narrowed his eyes, "Yes you do!" he snapped, "Wolfram! Oh my god! Do you not understand how dangerous it is for you? You have Shikon blood!"

Wolfram clenched his hands. He could feel himself boiling again, boiling with anger and frustration. He clenched his teeth together and growled.

"I am not some demersal in distress! I can take care of myself, I can protect myself," he said.

Yuu puffed out his cheeks. He looked like he was going to say something, most likely disagree with Wolfram but he didn't.

Maybe when Wolfram's head was clear, he could understand Yuu's perception. Maybe…but right now, he was fuming.

"Clearly not," Yuu muttered.

Wolfram glared, "What did you say?" he snapped.

Yuu shrugged casually. He clicked his tongue and decided to start ahead of Wolfram. He climbed out through the whole without another word.

Wolfram stared after him. He clenched his hands and sighed deeply. His stomach twisted as he slowly calmed himself. It really wasn't Yuu's fault. Yuu didn't know how cable Wolfram was, he did not know Wolfram had grown up training to be soldier.

Yuu didn't know anything about Wolfram or Shin Makoku.

Wolfram winced. His lips twisted and he looked down. Guilt slowly began to crawl to the surface.

Maybe he had over reacted?

"Yuu was just trying to protect me," Wolfram mumbled quietly, "Yuuri never…."

Yuu wasn't Yuuri thought…

He shook his head, "Maybe…Yuu and I can understand one another better if…if I tell him about Shin Makoku?" he said to himself.

That seemed like a good idea…maybe Yuu would even understand Wolfram needing to get home. But then…what of that month thing they had agreed too?

Would Yuu let Wolfram go home?

Wolfram didn't know but he still wanted to tell Yuu the truth. He felt like he had to.

With that thought in mind, Wolfram followed after the demon. He carefully climbed through the ruined wall and stepped outside. It felt good to be out under the sun again, even the nice breeze was enjoyable.

"Yuu," Wolfram called out.

Yuu was a few steps ahead. He seemed to be waiting anxiously and tensed up when Wolfram said his name.

"I'm-" Wolfram began.

The Bird Demon was perched on top of the tree above them. As soon as Wolfram stepped out from the shack, the bird let out a high pitched shriek. It spread out its long black wings and leaped off the branch.

Wolfram turned his head when he felt like something was vastly approaching him.

He barely had any time to realize what was happening. This small black thing with wings latched onto his arm, and shoved a sharp point through his hand. Pain itched through his hand and Wolfram let out a cry.

"Wolfram?" Yuu gapped.

Yuu moved over to Wolfram. He wrapped his left arm around his shoulders while with his right hand, he grabbed the damn bird and yanked it out.

Immediately the bird began to wiggle and jerk around in Yuu's hand. It desperately edged itself out of Yuu's clawed hand and escaped back to the tree tops.

Yuu glared after the bird.

Wolfram shook. He stared at the gapping whole in the middle of palm. Blood was gushing over his skin from the way the bird had impaled him.

"It hurts," he whispered.

He had been cut, and bruised so many times as he trained. Even on the adventures Yuuri had dragged him too, Wolfram had been injured so many…but this burned like a bitch! It hurt.

Wolfram wasn't expecting it to hurt so much.

He didn't realize he was sinking until his knees hit the ground. Yuu crouched down on one knee along with him while holding his shoulders. Yuu's dark eyes looked down at the wound with a hard expression.

"It's okay," Yuu said, "It's not that deep."

Yuu reached over and ripped the bottom of his shirt. He then processed to bandage the wound up, tying it as tightly as he could.

"It'll be alright," he added softly, "But you have to get up."

Wolfram blinked. He looked up at Yuu and allowed himself to gently eased to his feet.

"The Bird Demon crank your blood. Look, it's already doubling in size," he said, "We have to stop it before it reaches the village. It'll get even worse, it'll get even bigger…"

Wolfram gulped, "Even bigger?" he breathed out, "How are we going to beat it back to the village? It's already getting faster…"

Yuu peered back up at the bird. He sighed deeply, and then turned around. He walked back to the shack and reached down. He grabbed an old worn out looking bow and arrow. He turned back to Wolfram and shoved them into his unexpecting hands.

The bird was moving faster and faster every second. He inhaled sharply and crouched over.

"Climb on," he said.

Wolfram stared at Yuu. He blinked once, then twice, before he put a hand to his forehead. He repeated 'climb on' over and over, trying to figure out what Yuu meant. Did he mean climb onto his back?

"What? Climb onto what exactly?" Wolfram asked wearily. Almost in fear.

Yuu looked back at him blankly, "Wolfram. Climb onto my back already, we have to hurry. We do not have time standing around to argue about this," he said.

Wolfram blinked again. He gulped and slowly nodded his head. He slowly stepped forward and pressed his hands against Yuu's shoulder. He winced as his injured hand throbbed. He struggled to balance the bow and arrows in his arm as he carefully climbed on.

He was a bit worried of putting to much weight onto Yuu.

And then, Wolfram found himself piggy-backed onto Yuu's back.

Yuu then shot off. He moved faster then anything Wolfram had ever experienced. Faster then any horse Wolfram had rode. Yuu ran with ease, and easily moved between the tree until they was directly underneath the bird.

"Shoot it," Yuu called out.

Wolfram gasped. His eyes widened. He looked between the bird and the bow.

"You want me to shoot it down? Are you serious?" Wolfram cried out, "I don't know how to use an bow! I was trained to use a sword!"

Yuu snorted, "Ha, that's not going to do much! Listen, the crow eats rotting flesh. There is a buffet just down there."

Wolfram gulped. He shakily reached for the bow over his shoulder, and pull it free. He looked back up at the bird and immediately thought of the sweet small boy he had saved last night.

If he could prevent the child from being attacked, Wolfram will.

"A-Alright," he said, "Alright. I'll try to shoot the bird…"

"Thank you."

Wolfram twitched. He didn't like Yuu's tone, but shut his mouth. He didn't want to start another argument.

He ignored the throbbing of his hand the best he could. He held the arrow shakily, and aimed it up at the bird.

Wolfram would have fallen off if it wasn't for the two clawed arms wrapped around his legs. He clenched his teeth together as Yuu leaped into the air.

He held his bow out.

Now!

The arrow charged through the air. Just as it was about to hit the bird it... fell.

The arrow plopped to the ground.

"What was that?" Yuu gasped.

Wolfram flushed, "Hey. I-It's my first try. I said I wasn't trained with an bow and arrow," he huffed.

Yuu nodded, "Right, okay, try again!"

Wolfram sighed. He wanted to ask 'if a sword won't do much, then what can a measly arrow do?' but he held back.

'It's so big now…I have to hit it,' Wolfram thought.

He breathed in deeply, and held another arrow out. He pulled it back with the bow and did his very best to line it up with the bird.

He watched with hope as the arrow launched off and once again it missed. It was a mile off in fact.

"Yuu! I can't do this!" Wolfram whined, "I'm never going to hit it!"

Yuu grunted. He pushed them off a thick tree branch and landed on his feet. He then removed his arms and allowed Wolfram to drop to the ground with a loud thud.

"Okay," Yuu said, "It will be safer for you to stay here. I'll go sort out the chicken myself instead."

Yuu then disappeared through the trees.

Wolfram sighed. He couldn't even use stupid flying sticks. Just what good is he? His magic doesn't even work. He looked down at the bow and arrows in his hands with a deep frown.

"Why can't I do anything right?" he whispered.

Wolfram could feel his eyes swelling up with heat. He could almost feel like he was about to break down. Shame just ate at him. He shook his head furiously, and then turned to walk along the trail back to the village.

It was then that he heard somebody sobbing.

Wolfram pushed his way through the branches and found himself at a lake. He blinked as he looked around the lake bank, searching for the owner of the sobs.

The Demon Bird had its claws on a young child and was trying to fly away with the child.

The poor child was sobbing loudly. It was a little girl who was kicking her legs and trying to desperately claw at the bird's legs. The bird had the girl in the middle of the lake, so if it did decide to drop her, she would land in the water.

"Help! Help!" the girl screamed, "Help!"

There was voices gasping, and murmuring, muttering and whimpering. When Wolfram looked, he found a small crowd of villagers standing on the lake bank.

Wolfram gasped. What could he do? He only had this bow and arrow, but he couldn't use it. Wolfram was scared he would accidently hit the girl. He didn't want that to happen.

"What do I do?" he mumbled nervously.

He didn't want to throw a rock or anything. He didn't want to do anything that could bring harm to the poor child.

Then, before Wolfram could even blink, an arrow came shooting past.

Wolfram blinked furiously in surprise and found a village had tried to shot the bird down. Somehow it had hit the bird, slicing off one of the bird's feet and successfully dropping the little girl.

The little girl let out a terror filled scream. She plummeted into the water like a sack of potatoes.

"Can nobody swim?" Wolfram mumbled quietly.

He looked at the villagers to see nobody was running into the lake to save the girl. They was only coming to the edge of the river, screaming. Wolfram shook his head and rushed to the lake.

He wasn't an amazing swimmer. He disliked swimming honestly.

Wolfram got sea-sick on a boat. He stayed away from water unless it was a bath. Until Yuuri practically dragged him to a pool and tried to teach him to swim…it didn't end well but Wolfram learnt how to swim a bit.

"Hang on," he called out.

It didn't take him long to get to the small flaring girl. He carefully wrapped his arms around her to keep her floated. He then began to backpaddled to the lake bank. Wolfram did his best to ignore the water.

The little girl then let out a cry. Her body jerked back, and she sobbed even louder.

Wolfram frowned when he saw the bird's clawed foot hanging onto the back of the child's shirt. He reached out and grabbed it, held it tightly and pulled it off the child. The thing flared about, and Wolfram couldn't believe the foot was still moving.

"The Demon Bird," one of the villager gasped, "It's still alive."

True to villeger's word, the bird was alive. It was sparking, flapping around with a trail of blood leaking from its missing foot. It's long feather seemed to be falling off with every second.

The bird was massive.

"Where's…" Wolfram began.

He looked around himself in hopes of spotting Yuu. Didn't he go on ahead? Wolfram thought he would see Yuu around here. The Demon Bird is here.

Wolfram looked back up at the bird worriedly. What could they do? What could he do? He grimaced, and then dropped the wiggling bird foot. He then kicked it into the lake with a snort.

"I-It's coming!"

Wolfram blinked. He snapped his head up to look at the bird.

The crow let out a load, high pitch, shriek. It flapped it's wings and then curled them tightly to it's sides. It then arched forward and shot forward.

The Demon Bird directed it's sharp beck towards Wolfram.

It was advancing rather quickly.

Wolfram's heart skipped a beat. He could hear it bounding loudly in his ears. He looked around himself anxiously, looking for anything he could use to defend himself. A sword hopefully.

There was nothing.

There was no way a flimsy arrow wouldn't be able to block that demon.

Wolfram's eyes widened. He looked back up at the crow. There was nothing he could do but to wait.

Suddenly an arm wrapped around Wolfram's waist. He was swiftly pulled to the side, and crow slammed into the rocks where Wolfram had just been.

Wolfram let out a soft cry. He struggled to breath, his body was trembling and his hand immediately shot up to grasp ahold of that black martial. He clenched it tightly as he stared at the wiggling demon bird.

"Wolfram?" a familiar soft voice said.

Wolfram gapped. He tilted his head back to find dark black eyes gazing down at him.

"Y-Yuuri?" he breathed out.

Yuu's dark eyebrows pulled together in confusion. He opened his mouth as if to speak, but then closed them. His dark cat ears twitched. He then shook his head and eased Wolfram behind him.

"Hey, Wolf. It's alright," he cooed while trying to ease Wolfram's hand off his shirt.

Wolfram gulped. He pulled away, and felt his legs give out. He landed on his knees with a wince.

Yuu twisted himself. He leaped at the bird, and slashed his clawed hand through the demon. Immediately the bird erupted in chunks of flesh and blood.

Yuu clenched his hand. He peered back at the lump of dead demon bird with a sneer. He stretched his back out, and finally turned back around to Wolfram. His eyes immediately softened with worry, and he quickly advanced to the blonde.

"Wolfram?" he called out.

Wolfram inhaled sharply. He wasn't sure why he suddenly felt so afraid. The blood was rushing to his ears, and felt dizzy. He was a soldier for crises sake. He should have been use to things like that…

But…that wasn't something he had ever witnessed before.

First Mrs Centipede and now a Demon Bird Crow…what could be next?

He really needed to get home.

Wolfram snapped his head up when he felt gently hands touch his shoulders. He felt his heart freeze upon looking into concerned black eyes.

"Yuu?" Wolfram said after a long moment of silence.

It wasn't Yuuri.

Yuu frowned. He cupped Wolfram's face and leaned in close, their noses almost touching, "Wolfram? Hey, it's alright. Everything is okay. Breath, you're in shock," he said.

"Shock?" Wolfram swallowed.

So this is what it felt to be in shock. It took a lot for Wolfram to be in shock. Hardly anything shocked him anymore.

Wolfram raised trembling hands, and grabbed a hold of Yuu shift again. He let out a low whine and then pressed his head into Yuu's chest. He breathed in sharply. He could hear the soft murmuring, and whispering of the other villagers.

"W-Why are they always coming for me?" Wolfram whispered under his breath.

Why did the demons always want him? Could it get worse? Yes. Yes it will.

Yuu gently placed his arms around Wolfram. He tried to give him comfort with a hug. It was awkward, but he tried his very best.

"I want to go home," Wolfram whimpered.

~#~#~#~#~

It was much later. The day had transformed into a lighter time, the evening with the sun just beginning to set.

Wolfram breathed softly as he opened his eyes. He was back in Giliana's hut. He laid still for a few more seconds before he sat up with the warned out blanket falling around his waist. His hands was still shaking, and he tried to grip them together to stop them from shaking.

"Wolfram?"

He glanced up to the old wooden sliding door. He blinked as Giliana ended the small room.

"You're up," Giliana said, "How are you feeling?"

She came to sit down next to him while holding a wooden bowl. It was half full with water. In her other hand was a small piece of martial.

"Yuu was in a bit of a pickle when he returned with you," she hummed, "You gave a bit of scare there."

Wolfram flushed, "Oh. I'm sorry…"

Giliana shrugged. She gently began to dap the damp martial across Wolfram's face, "We understand your situation, but I am curious."

"Curious about what?" Wolfram mumbled.

"When Mrs Centipede was attacking our village, you said something about climbing out of the cursed well," Giliana questioned, "The well is called cursed for a reason. It brings such bad luck, and it's a big omen."

"He's not from our world," Yuu suddenly said.

Wolfram glanced at him in surprise. He didn't notice the cat demon sitting in the corner. He couldn't help but feel a bit more safe.

Giliana nodded her head, "I came to the same conclusion," she said while pushing a short green hair behind her ear.

Wolfram opened and then shut his mouth. He felt his heart skip a beat. He glanced between the two people nervously.

"I have heard stories of the well somehow connecting to another world, but I have never seen prove of that until now," Giliana added.

Yuu clicked his tongue, he bowed his head, "I'm assuming you don't have…demons there? That's why you was so surprised and scared, right?" he asked.

Wolfram clenched his hands, "I…Yes. I'm from another world…" he mumbled.

"Fascinating," Giliana mumbled softly.

"It's…it's not that amazing," Wolfram sighed, "Back in my world…there is a fountain that is normal used as a bridge to another world as well…not this one, but another one named Ea-rth."

Yuu slowly got to his feet. Wolfram thought at first the dark haired boy was going to leave, but instead, he came and sat at Wolfram's side. He carefully took Wolfram's hands.

"You…You said you wanted to go home, I'll take you to the well," he said.

Wolfram blinked, "But…what about that month I…I-I promised…" he whimpered.

Yuu's cat ears folded, "I…" he sighed, "I think…I it's the right thing to do. You don't want to be here, you don't belong here and-and I, as your mate, have to think about your best interest."

"If your best interest is to go home, then that is what I will do. I'll help you get home," he said.

Wolfram stared at the cat demon. He felt his ears burning with every passing second.

"Even-Even if I can't…" Yuu frowned, "Even if we can't be mates anymore. You don't belong in this world."

Giliana smiled sadly, "You're not safe here," she added.

Wolfram couldn't help it. He felt himself burst into tears. He sobbed, and looked down. He felt so pressured but relieved. His hands clenched Yuu's tightly.

"Wolfram, it's alright," Yuu whispered with a sad smile.

Yuu then wrapped his arms around Wolfram's shoulders. He pulled him closely and hugged him tightly. Wolfram couldn't help but cry. He cried loudly into Yuu shoulder. Even Giliana leant forward and gently rubbed Wolfram's back.

They waited until Wolfram had calmed down.

"I'm," Wolfram hiccupped, "Thank you."

Yuu smiled, "I'm your mate, for now at least, it's what you want after all," he said.

Wolfram sniffed. He held Yuu's hand as he stood up. He couldn't get his head around the fact he was going home. Back to Shin Makoku, back to his family…back to Yuuri. His chest tightened as he thought about Yuuri.

Yuuri…Yuu. They treat him so differently.

Wolfram looked at Yuu. Yuu was…nice to him.

"I have only known you for a little time," Giliana smiled, "But I have taken you as one of my friends."

Wolfram looked at the woman that looked so much like his dear friend. He hiccupped again, and tried to smile. However he couldn't. There was something so bitter about this. He felt strange. He was going home, but yet there was a stone in the pit of his stomach.

He took Giliana hand, "T-Thank you for taking me in, for being so kind to me Giliana. I really appreciate it," he smiled weakly.

"I'm very thankful for everything you've done for me," he added softly.

Giliana chuckled. She bowed, "It was my pleasure. I am pleased to have met you, Wolfram," she said, "I hope you have a safe journey home."

Wolfram rubbed his red eyes. He bowed his head in return, "I am just as happy to met you," he said.

And then…Yuu was leading him away.

They walked slowly, in silence. They walked through the village and then long the rice fields. Wolfram stared at everything. He took in everything and willed himself to remember everything. He didn't want to forget a single thing.

"Who is Yuuri?" Yuu suddenly asked.

Wolfram blinked. His heart leaped into his throat, and he turned around to look at the back of Yuu's head. He tried to see Yuu's face but couldn't.

"You…You called me Yuuri," Yuu added quietly, "He must mean a lot to you…"

Wolfram bites his bottom lip. His shoulders hunched and he looked down.

"…Yuuri…" Wolfram whispered, "He was…was my ex-fiancé. My ex-mate I suppose…he…he didn't…I mean, we wasn't supposed to be together. He wanted out, but I-I…"

Wolfram whimpered. He couldn't speak. He tried, but nothing came out.

"It's alright," Yuu suddenly said, "You don't have to say anything. I can tell, you care for him a lot but he hurt you."

Wolfram sniffed. His chest hurt. He didn't want to cry again, but he could feel it again.

"I always thought you smelled odd," Yuu said, "You're not a human, but not a demon either. I am assuming you're something we don't have here, but you have lots of in your…world?"

Wolfram clicked his dry lips, "Makaou," he whispered.

Yuu hummed, "Makaou?" he repeated.

"Hmm," Wolfram nodded his head, "I am a Makaou. We…We are known as demons."

Wolfram chuckled. Demons. They're not demons. They're nothing compared to the demons of this world.

"In our world, the demons of this world is nothing but stories. Makaou is a demon for us. We…we can control the elements," Wolfram explained, "We age slower then humans and are stronger and faster…"

Yuu was silent for a good minute.

"What element was yours?" he asked.

Wolfram smiled. He looked down as he walked, "Fire. I had fire…but here…it's like I'm no longer connected to it…"

"Fire?" Yuu chuckled, "That makes sense. You're a lot like fire. You don't have Shikon blood over there?"

Wolfram shook his head, "No, I've never heard of Shikon blood before now," he said, "Even the things I can do…because of it…I can't do over there…"

"So it's like you switched your fire for Shikon blood?" Yuu commented softly.

"Yeah…I thought that too," Wolfram mumbled sadly.

Yuu was quiet. He lead Wolfram through the forest and then stopped at the edge of a small clearing.

"That's the well," he said.

Wolfram looked at it. It was exactly the same as he recalled. He felt a shiver run up his spin.

Was this it? Was he going home?

"Y-Yeah," Wolfram mumbled, "Mrs Centipede pulled me through the well, and I ended here…"

Yuu nodded. His tail slowly moved side to side as he stared at the well. After a good long minute, Yuu began to lead Wolfram towards the well. He only stopped when he was at the well edge. He slowly raised a hand to touch the well side.

Wolfram watched quietly, before he too touched the well. His fingers pressing over to the wood, and frowned. The wood was warm. It felt strange underneath his fingers as well. He bites his bottom lip awkwardly.

"So…" Yuu began, "Do you just…drop down?"

Wolfram looked at Yuu thoughtfully. Was it just like that? Just climb over and drop down? Would he automatically land back in Shin Makaou?

Was it that easy?

"I-I guess so…" Wolfram whispered.

Yuu inhaled sharply. His cat ears twitched and he fully turned around to look at him. His expression was sad. It made Wolfram's chest ache. He didn't like seeing that expression on Yuu.

Yuu had been so…gentle….kind, not sad.

"I guess this is it," Yuu breathed out quietly. A weak smile appeared across his lips.

Wolfram blinked. He looked down at his feet. Why was this so hard? Why did it feel so…it was awful. He felt terrible. He almost didn't want to go but he had too. Wolfram had to see his family, had to deal with the mess he left over there.

"Yuu, I'm happy I got to met you," Wolfram finally sad.

Yuu's eyes widened. His ears stood up, "R-Really? I got the impression you wasn't very happy at all…" he said.

Wolfram sheepishly smiled, "I was overwhelmed by everything honestly. Demons, mates…it's so much," he said.

Yuu nodded. He looked down the well and then back at Wolfram. There was something about his eyes that made Wolfram flushed shyly.

"I am happy to have met you too," Yuu finally said.

That smile was back. The smile that made Wolfram weak to his knees.

Yuu shyly looked down, "I hope I get to met somebody like you in the future," he said softly.

Wolfram felt his cheeks darken. His hands twitched with the urge to touch the cat demon but held back, and settled for holding Yuu's hand. He squeezed it.

"I kind of don't want to let you go," Yuu chuckled quietly, "But…I can't keep you here when you don't belong here. When there is a possibility of you going home."

Wolfram let out a soft breathe. He felt his lips twitch, and he peered at Yuu. His heart skipped a beat.

"I…You're so much like Yuuri…my ex-mate, he…he never wanted me, and I was normally ignored, pushed to the side…" Wolfram said quietly, "Yuuri wasn't mean to me, he was kind as well but he didn't want to be around me…."

"So why are you going home?" Yuu frowned, "If Yuuri is like that, why don't you just stay here? W-With me? I can protect you, a-and after a month, if you still don't want to be with me…"

"Yuu," Wolfram smiled.

Yuu blushed. His dark ears fold, and stared down the well, "It was worth a try," he mumbled sadly.

Wolfram hummed quietly, "You are really sweet, Yuu," he said, "I'll miss you."

With that, Wolfram carefully climbed over the edge of well. He breathed in sharply, and peered down into the well once more. His stomach flopped nervously.

"Bye…" Yuu whispered.

Wolfram smiled, "B-Bye," he whispered in return.

He wondered what had been happening in Shin Makoku while he had been gone.

Have people noticed he was gone? Had his mother come running home after the news? What had Gwendal done when he charged into his room that morning to find it empty? What about Conrad?

…What about Yuuri? Had he even noticed?

Wolfram felt himself shake. Yuuri probably had not noticed. He didn't even notice when Wolfram went back to Bielefeld for that week. This is only been a couple of days, less then a week, Wolfram had no doubt Yuuri didn't notice…

Would have any of them really notice?

The thought made Wolfram want to climb back up and stay. Stay with Yuu but he didn't. He kept climbing down.

He climbed until his feet touch the bottom of the well. As soon as he lowered himself, he felt something run up his spine.

The pounding of heart echoed through his head.

"…Am…am I home?" Wolfram wondered.

Was he back in Shin Makoku?

Wolfram looked back up. He wasn't sure what he would see. Maybe the top of the hut the well was inside back in Shin Makoku. He stared up, he couldn't tell if he was back in Shin Makoku…it was night when he climbed down…or at least the sun had just began to set.

"Is this Shin Makoku?" he breathed out awkwardly.

There was only one way to find out.

Wolfram began to climb back up. It was a bit harder then climbing down. He dug his fingers into the stone walls as he climbed, only when he was close to the top did he unfortunately slipped.

A hand caught his wrist.

Wolfram blinked. He looked up and felt his heart leap into his throat.

"W-Wolfram?"

Wolfram's eyes widened.

"It didn't work?"
