A/N: Final chapter! This was a lot of fun to write and really opened me up for AUs. I'm sorry this last one took so long, I hope it's worth the wait.

When dreams came true they sure as hell left you sore in the morning. That's the main conclusion Emma drew upon waking up. She never got that part in books where you woke up and supposedly needed a moment to remember what had happened last night. What had happened last night had swiftly followed her into dreamland and the second consciousness shone into her mind she knew who she would be waking up next to.

Except that when she reached over Killian wasn't there. Now Emma thought she had her fair share of issues and insecurities, most of them neatly tied up with abandonment but her heart didn't skip a beat when she didn't find her captain (oh, yeah, he was hers alright now) next to her in the narrow bed. She didn't get that particular book or tv trope (damn, she was a geek) or whatever it was either. How can you feel like you can simply fly with the amount of passion and happiness and love in your sails one night and then doubt the person that brought all that to you on the very next morning. Emma Swan was not the type to give random people the benefit of the doubt but Killian Jones-

Came through her door as if on queue. A brown bag and two cups of what smelled like life itself (also known as coffee) in his hands and a silly happy grin that immediately pulled at the corners of her lips too. But his smile fell the second he saw she was awake.

"Oh, I'm sorry, luv. I thought I'd be back before you woke up."

He abandoned his treasures on her desk and dropped on the bed, tangling his hand in her hair to pull her closer.

"How could I ever make it up to you?" he murmured against her lips.

"Mmm. The coffee is a step in the right direction," she hummed, biting lightly on his lower lip and trying to suppress her grin at the sight of the impressive hickey on his neck.

"And muffins. I have- Fuck, Swan!" he groaned as her lips attached themselves to the already tender area.

"Muffins?" her head snapped up and in a second she was off the bed and digging in the bag on her desk.

"Well," Killian chuckled at the sight, making himself comfortable among the rumpled sheets. "It's good for me to know that I cannot compete with pastry."

Emma turned around to face him again, running a hand over her crumbs-smeared lips.

"It's pastry and chocolate in one. No mere man can compete with that, honey," she said as she took another bite of the sweet in her hand.

It was Killian's silly grin that gave her pause.

"What?"she asked suspiciously, looking down at herself to make sure half her food wasn't all over her white top.

"Nothin'," he replied, grin not faltering.

"Yeah, that's not nothing face," she said, coming back to the bed and straddling him. "Why are you so pleased with yourself?"

"Because you're cute?"

"Nice try," she fired back, raising an eyebrow.

"Emmaaa," Killian sighed. "If I tell you, you're gonna stop."

"Stop what? Eating? Hate to disappoint but nothing is stopping me from devouring all the sugar you have bought."

"Not that," he said, looking at her as if he was calculating the chances of getting himself punched in the face. "You called me 'honey'."

"Oh," Emma looked down at the half-eaten muffin in her hands. "So?"

"I just… thought I was gonna be doing all the pet-naming."

"Well," she looked up, breaking of a generous piece of her food. "Do you mind sharing the burden?"

Killian grinned up at her, hands going around her waist and pulling her closer.

"Not at all, lass."

"Good. Open up, honey," she grinned, reaching out to pop the piece of sugary goodness in his mouth.

"Not bad," Killian hummed in appreciation. "So, Miss Swan, what are your wicked plans for the day?"

"To get out of this tiny box," Emma explained.

Ridiculous as it sounded, she felt like her dorm room had suddenly become too small to contain her. Too small to contain her happiness.

Killian frowned a little. His plans had been leaning more towards staying in and spending a not so quiet and peaceful afternoon.

"Alright," he said, trying to sound enthusiastic and hoping Emma's idea didn't include them saying goodbye anytime soon. "What did you have in mind, luv?"

"Well…" Emma scrunched up her nose which Killian promptly reached up to kiss, making her roll her eyes at him. "I don't know. I don't feel like staying here but I do feel like…"

Instead of finishing her sentence she ground her hips down on his, making Killian moan in the back of his throat.

"Ah, that's what you should have started with. I believe my parents won't be home for the next," he glanced at the clock on her nightstand. "six hours."

"Is that so?"

"Indeed," he grinned at her. "Do you think you can put up with me for six more hours, Swan?"

Emma sighed over dramatically.

"If I must," she said, looking towards the ceiling in mock exasperation.

"You're a little minx. Have I told you that?" replied Killian, sitting up and attacking her lips.

"Yeah," she giggled between his sloppy hungry kisses. "Several times last night."

"Well, it bares repeating."

"Make yourself at home, luv," said Killian as he unlocked the door for her an hour later.

"Won't be too hard," murmured Emma beneath her breath, looking around the hall she had entered almost every week for the last two years.

If she had to point to a place and call it home… well, for a long time she had thought she couldn't do that. But this house. This house was the closest she had come to it, thanks to Ruby's unwavering persistence in becoming friends with her (which Emma knew wasn't an easy task), the immediate connection she had felt with Killian (and the challenge he seemed to issue her just by breathing) and their wonderful parents.

Feeling the quarterback helping her out of her leather jacket and turning around to watch him hang it next to his own, she was pretty sure she had never understood how home was supposed to feel better than in this moment.

"Let's grab something to drink and we ca-" Killian stopped short his hand on her lower back leading her into the living room where Ruby and Victor were engaged into what was going way beyond a make-out session.

"Killian!" Ruby screeched, pulling her shirt over her red bra, which by now nicely matched her cheeks. "Don't you knock?!"

"No, Ruby!" Killian yelled back. "I do not knock upon entering the bloody living room."

"Well, yo- Oh, hey, Ems," Ruby's eyes suddenly widened with something other than embarrassment. "You two hooked up!"

Killian rolled his eyes at his sister.

"We got together," he corrected her tersely before frowning and glancing at Emma. "Right?"

The blonde smiled up at him, contemplating teasing him a bit, but the insecurity creeping among the blues of his eyes stopped her.

"Yeah," she grinned, catching his hand and squeezing it.

"Ew. You are totally gonna be one of those sickeningly cute couples, aren't you?" Ruby scrunched her face and shook her head. "Well, I'm just glad I won't have to suffer the sexually frustrated versions of both of you anymore."

Emma gave the brunette a look.

"Come on, Ruby. You are happy for us," she said teasingly.

Ruby rolled her eyes but there was a smile on her lips that warmed Emma's heart.

"I'm happy for me. I most definitely will NOT be asking you for 'all the details' because ewwww?" she said, glancing at her brother who promptly rolled his eyes at her and then went back to glaring at Victor who was doing his best to keep himself behind Ruby. "But you both owe me now for like… eternity!"

Now was Emma's turn to roll her eyes before Ruby's next words made her freeze.

"And the first thing you are gonna do to pay me back is get the hell out of here," she grinned triumphantly.

Killian opened his mouth to protest but his sister cut him off.

"Unless of course you want to stick around and take some pointers from me and Vic," she grinned evilly at him.

The captain made a move forward but Emma was fast enough to grab his arm and hold him back from reaching behind Ruby and maiming her boyfriend.

"Killian. They were here first. Let's go," she said, giving Ruby a look that let her know she will be writing her next term paper alone.

"But she-"

"I know, I know. But if we stay, you will have to stop living in denial and face the fact that your little sister has sex. A lot. Probably more than you do."

Killian's head snapped back towards Emma, betrayal written all over his face.

"But," she said placatingly, moving closer and running her hand over his arm. "If we get out of here, we can start rectifying that injustice."

The desire in the captain's eyes flared up immediately. Still he glanced back at his sister to see that Victor had dared to put his arms back around her. Killian literally growled at the other man, making him jump back a couple of steps. Ruby just rolled her eyes and pointed towards the door.

"Come on," Emma said, tugging her boyfriend towards said door. "I promise we will be having way more fun."

"You wish!" laughed Ruby, her laughter only increasing as the last thing she saw was her best friend flipping her off while dragging her brother along with promises of what they could do on the deserted football field on a Sunday afternoon.

"Damn, I'm good," she said with a grin, turning to Victor and pushing him back onto the couch.
