Disclaimer: In no way do I own Digimon.
Thanks all for reading this story and leaving reviews, I apologize for such a long hiatus. I'm... actually a little surprised many people thought BlackWarGreymon has a connection to Ryo. He doesn't though, and I have to apologize to all Ryo-fans because I have little idea as to who he is other than being a character in games and Digimon Tamers.
The DigiDestined are scattered. And plans are set in motion!

"Child of Courage, Child of Courage! Are you alright?"
Taichi coughs and blinks dust from his eyes, but quickly focuses an unyielding gaze at the Tyrannomon who is holding him at eye-level. "Where are we?"
"Safe, at least temporarily," Tyrannomon tries to reassure, but the Champion still turns a worried glance at the direction they had fled from. Signs of great conflict echo even at this distance. "What should we do now?" Mushroomon speaks up from the ground, he is one of the few lucky enough to escape the onslaught.
"I'm going to contact Izzy and try to get in touch with Jyou," Taichi answers, trying to formulate his next course of action. "And I need to find Agumon."
The half a dozen Mushroomon and Crabmon look at each other. "We will set out to look for him right away!" "Yeah!" "Don't worry!" "We'll bring him here in a jiffy!" A short commotion later, and the small group of Rookies scatter deeper into the forest in search for the chosen partner of this child of destiny.
"Do you have a plan in mind?" Tyrannomon asks seriously.
They are up against an Ultimate level who is a brainwashed friend. The enemies are growing stronger by the minute while their number of fighters is dwindling just as fast. This war that has started by the hands of the DigiDestined with the first rebellion is spinning out of control too fast, and everybody is running out of options. Taichi takes a deep breath and grasps at the emptiness over his chest.
He says nothing, but his determination is set.

Yamato returns to himself and a pounding headache. He finds himself trussed up by vines and is secured tightly on an elevated platform, his back pressed uncomfortably against the rough surface of the cave wall. From his vantage point he can make out the digimons roaming below, all appear highly agitated and doubtlessly enslaved by the flower wreaths looping around their necks.
A small dispute breaks out between an Otamamon and a Betamon, due to their skittish state, almost resulting in a fight. Garurumon steps in between the two and growls, the threat enough to warn every digimon off. Yamato cranes his neck to survey the top of the cavern. Lilimon is nowhere to be seen and Garurumon appears to be preoccupied. This is his chance, so Yamato starts to pull at the vines binding his arms and wriggles until he feels the constraint over his left wrist loosen.
Garurumon spots him though. The Champion level throws him a distrustful glare, before leaping gracefully onto the platform where his supposed human partner is held at with ease. The huge wolf snarls, "What are you even attempting to do?"
Yamato halts his movement and turns full attention to his partner and friend. "Don't you recognize me, Garurumon?" Yamato asks, aiming to pacify. "I'm Matt... Yamato. We're friends."
"Don't play games with me," Garurumon hisses, his long fangs bare as he blow huffs of heated air at the human child's face. "I do recognize you, Child of Friendship, but you are no friend of mine."
"It's okay, it's fine," Yamato soothes, keeping his voice patient as he continue to tug at the binds. Part of his left arm is freed now, but even if he could stretch with his whole arm he still would not reach the shriveled wreath controlling his dearest companion. Instead, he opts to lay his hand over the wolf digimon's nose and strokes him gently.
Garurumon tenses, but he does not move away. Not just yet.
"It's okay. I'm here, I'm here. I won't leave you," Yamato promises softly. "You are my best friend and I will make sure you're alright. You have my word."
It lasts two seconds, and then the moment is broken.
Garurumon snaps his teeth, growls, and leaves.

Koushiro taps at his computer screen to open up another window. He is getting a hang of mapping out and pinpointing specific locations in the Digital World, in such a short notice as well, but alas so many catastrophic things are happening at once he felt his expertise is still lagging behind change. After just getting off contact with Kari, Tai is immediately calling him through the D-Terminals and is extremely frustrated when he receives the bad news about Diablomon and its possible maker.
=Okay, first thing's first. The rest we'll deal with when it happens.= Taichi has decided, but he is wearing an uncharacteristic deep frown. =I need Jyou, where is he? Does he know of our current situation yet?=
Before Koushiro can reply, another incoming notification interrupts Koushiro's side of the conversation. It comes from Mimi and she is obviously distraught.
=Izzy, it's awful!= Mimi is saying between sobs. =We were attacked, it happened so fast and so suddenly! Matt told me to go! Otamamon... I saw him... I still can't believe it happened! And, and... it was awful!=
"Mimi, are you okay? Are you safe now? Do you need me to set up an emergency exit for you?" Koushiro appeases patiently, and then returns to address his longest friend, "I have already got in touch with Jyou. He's not with me right now, Tai, but I've sent a Digi-Port program to his computer as well and he would contact you via D-Terminal in a moment."
=Yes, I am... safe. I am safe now. I met a couple old friends, they protected me.= Mimi says, drying up her tears and forced a small smile. A dirty-gold patchworked mouse hops onto her shoulder then and a machine ninja gives a small wave at the tiny screen. =This is Tyutyumon and Tuwarmon. They used to be Chuumon and Scumon, can you believe it?= Mimi reintroduces them, before asking, =Is Tai and Jyou there, too?=
=Wait, Izzy, are you talking to Mimi or someone else?= Taichi is also asking.
"Yes, hold on a minute," Koushiro answers absentmindedly as he focuses on entering a different string of computer codes, "I'm going to connect all of us together... okay, done!"
=Tai!= Mimi immediately cries out, =Matt is in trouble, and I've lost Kari! Lilimon attacked us and...=
=What! Is Kari hurt? What happened to Matt?= Taichi slaps a hand over his forehead. =We were ambushed by Zudomon by the beach. That bastard Emperor must've planned this, to hit us all at once.=
"No need to worry about Kari, I've talked to her a couple minutes ago. She's fine." Koushiro scans the digital map that he called up. "In fact, she is en route to Primary Village, with Gatomon and Tentomon in tow. I've asked her to check if there was an infected Digi-Egg, just in case. I don't think she is in any danger now."
Taichi lets out a relieved breath. Mimi uses a few minutes to explain her situation to Tai, with some rather unhelpful inputs from Tyutyumon. Tai takes it in, before putting on his 'leader' voice. =Okay, this is what we're going to do. I'm going to get in touch with Jyou and we're going to take down Zudomon first. We need someone who can traverse water to get to Secret Cave anyway.=
"How are you going to do that?" Koushiro can't help but ask.
=I'll think of something.=
=What about me?= Mimi asks, biting her lips. =Can I help?=
"I... think you better stay where you are, since you don't have your digimon partner yet," Koushiro answers, "I'm going to set up a quick exit for you in the meantime, the DigiWorld is not safe at this time."
Mimi pouts, =If you guys don't want my help then fine! Why should I care?= There is a huff and a disconnecting beep.
There is an awkward pause.
=What was that about?= Tai asks. Koushiro just sighs.

09:01:02 Sunday. Primary Village, File Island.
.
After saying goodbye to Whamon, Hikari gets in touch with Koushiro. She is worried about her brother and Matt and Mimi, but she also knows wasting time panicking is of no use to anyone at all. So after a short conversation, both Koushiro and Hikari decide that the best course of action for her is to check out Primary Village. At that time, she has yet to receive the ill message of her brother's and Daisuke's misfortune, thus she is a bit out of the loop of the current state of warfare after the computer prodigy used some tech magic to sent her to a closer location to the village of beginning.
It is just as well though, because trouble keeps on coming.
Primary Village is overcrowding as it is due to the rebellion, and clouds of data stream overhead before recompiling into colorful new eggs. To find a particularly suspicious virus Digi-Egg or a suspiciously malignant-looking Fresh level amid the mounds of garish eggs is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and the crowds of upset crying babies are of little help in the matter. Hikari splits up with Gatomon and Tentomon to cover more grounds, and Elecmon soon joins in after a short greeting.
The surprise however, is Patamon.
Hikari sees the flying mammalian digimon crying at the edge of the lively village, unsettled and alone. And very soon, she finds herself with an armful of orange fur and tears.
"Patamon? Where's TK?"
"I d-d-don't know, whaaaa...!"
"Okay, okay," Hikari pats the small digimon gently, "Can you tell me what happened the last time you saw him? Maybe we can figure out where he went together."
"We went to Infinity Mountain and fought and we got hurt and then when I woke up we were back here and..." Patamon starts babbling, and then suddenly gasp. "What is it, Patamon?" Hikari patiently asks.
"It's TK!" Patamon flaps his ear-wings slowly, his large blue eyes full of worry. "His digivice was taken by the enemy. Do you think he went to get it back?"
Hikari nods, "It's a possibility."
"But, why would he leave without me?"
The Child of Light chews on her lips thoughtfully. "Perhaps it was his way to protect you from harm."
"But who's going to protect him?" Patamon asks, before gingerly making up his mind. "I'm going to go after him, Kari. He shouldn't go to Infinity Mountain alone!" Having said what he needs, the furred Rookie then pushes away from the human girl and flies in the direction of the looming mountain.
"Wait!" Hikari calls after him, jogging to catch up. "I'll fetch Gatomon and we should go together." Patamon lands and looks back, nodding. There is a serious expression on his endearing features.
So it is decided. Hikari, Gatomon, and Patamon set out to Infinity Mountain.

V-mon is being thrown unceremoniously into a crowded holding cell, and metal bars slam shut behind him. He doesn't give up easy though, so he gets up at once to shake the solid door barricading his way. It doesn't budge.
"Hey, big guy!" V-mon calls out after BlackWarGreymon, catching the Mega level's attention before he leave. "What do you have against me? Why are you locking me up anyway?"
"You have a bloated sense of self-worth," BlackWarGreymon sneers, "I have nothing against you, personally." Then the black knight turns to glare at every single partnered digimon in the prison. "All of you."
"Then why?"
"You all owe your very existence to a transgression that I had..." BlackWarGreymon stops, clenching his talons so hard he almost bleeds. "I was banished to Dark Area for all eternity just so you could build your happiness upon my suffering, and now you have the audacity to ask me why."
"But I don't understand, what did you do?" V-mon asks, persistent, from behind the metal bars as he ignores the hushed whispers echoing around him. "What crime had you committed that landed you in Dark Area so many eons ago? And what does that have to do with us?"
"I..." the Mega sighs. "It was an accident."
"What happened?" V-mon prompts, not giving up.
BlackWarGreymon doesn't want to talk about it. He never wanted to talk about it. For how can he repent for a mistake that he can never regret?
"... I am the one who first crossed the Gate, thus am responsible for creating the first dent on the Wall of Fire," BlackWarGreymon grounds out, then again he turns to glare at all the digimons he had personally captured, in accusation. "Those not of this world came after that, one by one. The dent then turns into a crack, the crack then turns into a fissure."
BlackWarGreymon throws the oval-shaped blue digivice on the ground in anger and stomps down on it. Despite his immense strength however, he still cannot destroy a creation formed from the hands of their first but forgotten God.
If only these things don't exist! The dragon warrior thinks, but there is nothing else he can do.

"Tai...? That's your master plan?"
=Yes, do you understand it?=
"I distract Zudomon, you and Agumon aim for the dark ring?"
=Dark spiral, yes.=
"A bazillion things could go wrong..."
=If you have a better idea, you're welcome to share it.=
"Fine, fine. I'm prepared, I hope."
=So we'll meet at Coela Beach in half an hour, don't be late.=
"Sure thing, you can c-count on me," Jyou straightens his lopsided glasses and holds tightly onto a bag of supplies. "Half an hour at Coela Beach, half an hour at Coela Beach," he repeats under his breath. There is another sudden lurch and Jyou almost dropped his D-Terminal.
=You up to it?=
"O-of course I'm up to it! Zudomon needs my help!" Jyou answers boldly, but then he adds in a squeaky whisper, "... I just don't like the height much."
=What...?=
"Nothing...! Nothing!"
=How are you going to get there anyway, Jyou?=
"I've been preparing, that's what took me so long," Jyou sighs, shaking his head. Just then, a much deeper voice cuts in, "Hold on tight, Child of Reliability!" Jyou flinches, but immediately grabs a fistful of fiery golden mane. The pale flying stallion takes a sharp dive, turns at a sharp angle to avoid a branch before leveling out his inky furry wings and pulling upright again. Unimon is mindful to always keep their altitude low enough to avoid detection.
[Unimon] [Champion-Vaccine-WG/VB]
=Who was that?= Taichi can be heard asking over the portable device.
"That's our friend Unimon!" Jyou shrieks over the howling wind, ducking down his head and shields the digital device with a hand. "Things sound bad from the way Izzy described it, so I took some time to search for backup. You know how I tend to worry, but better safe than sorry."
=Wow, I'm actually impressed! Is there anyone else?=
"Well," Jyou pauses. A small fairy the size of volleyball pokes her head out of his bag before beating her translucent yellow wings. She flies to sit on the human child's shoulder and flips her blond ponytail. The fairy digimon swings her slender legs and prods the D-Terminal with the tip of her scarlet spear. "I'm here, too, yep yep! I didn't come all the way from Server Continent for nothing, and don't you forget it!"
[Tinkermon] [Rookie-Virus-JT/WG]
=That's a cute little fella, Jyou. Where did you find her?=
"Uhh, she found me actually," Jyou awkwardly pushes his glasses up his nose, "It's a long story, but you remember him... her... hmm, Piximon?" Tinkermon puffs up her cheeks, smacking the boy lightly on the head with her beloved spear. "She didn't get any bigger after all this time, haha."
=That... that's great!= Taichi exclaims. =I can't believe you managed to find such a powerful ally!=
"Yeah, about that," Jyou coughs, "She's feeling a bit under the weather so to speak, not exactly the Ultimate level she used to be." Hearing that, Tinkermon stands straight and spins the red spear in a way reminiscing of her old self, declaring, "I'm still good with trickery and diversion, yep yep! So don't count me out yet."
=That's good to hear. So really, Jyou, cheer up! I can see our victory already!=
"I hope so..." the Child of Reliability mutters, holding onto his mount tighter.

"Are you sure about this?" Tuwarmon asks uncertainly, bending down as to not bump his pointed helmet on the low ceiling. Tuwarmon and Tyutyumon have followed Mimi back to the human world, to her room in America, and they have been warned to be quiet as she search for something in the cluster of makeup and dresses and dolls. Her room is very pink and bright, making them slightly uneasy.
"Totally," Mimi answers, pushing boxes aside to dig deeper into her closet. "I'm sure I have it in here somewhere."
"But you sure it would work against Lilimon and her host of mind-controlled army?" Tyutyumon asks.
Mimi places her hands on her knees and stops.
"Are you alright, Mimi?" the patchworked mouse taps her arm uncertainly.
The Child of Sincerity clenches her fists. "I have to try," Mimi whispers, "Lilimon is my partner and she needs me. I'm not a little girl anymore and I am not going to wait for somebody else to do everything for me." Running a hand through her messy hair to keep bangs out of her eyes, Mimi leans in to pull out the last dusty box. Inside is a pair of microphones and a portable speaker set.
"It may not help much, but at least this is something I know I can do."
Tuwarmon helps pick up the heavy equipment, but both he and his longtime friend are confused. "What are you going to do?" the humanoid automaton asks.
"I am going to sing," Mimi declares with a smile. She holds up her digivice, preparing to return to the hostile digital world.

Tuwarmon is a Mode Change for Damemon, though they have very different names. For those who don't know, Damemon is basically a metallic version Scumon/Sukamon. And only in the Digi-universe is it possible for a bondage-wearing shit to turn into a humanoid robot-ninja.
