Afternoon Naps

Two small animals were snuggled and cuddled together, dozing off under the warm sunlight that shone on their fur coats. At the sound of children being released from school outside nearby, the ebony black cat's ear twitched, and he showed signs of stirring. As the ruckus of young children's squeals and laughter grew louder, the cat seemed to adopt an annoyed aura. He woke up slowly, stretching his legs as far as they could, and irritatedly scratched the floor with his claws at a particularly high-pitched scream. After all, the cat was too dignified to meow loudly and jump in fright like any other herbivorous felines.

Although he wished to silently sneak out the door and pursuit all of the troublesome menaces, the cat was aware that the other small animal would not be so keen on his actions. Therefore, he merely waited.

Time passed by, and eventually the brats were driven or walked home, and the noise faded away. Almost pleased with the silence, the black cat curled up once again, close to his companion and glad that the noise had not woken the other up. He gently nuzzled a bunny ear, and as he closed his eyes to return to his slumber, he wrapped a tail around the bunny.

The sienna brown bunny remained frozen still for a moment longer, before a nose twitched, and chocolate brown eyes opened up carefully as they scanned the surroundings. He snuffled a bit, swiveling his head around before looking back at the feline resting against him. His long ears flopped around and drooped downwards at the cat that was irked from having his nap interrupted. The bunny seemed to let out a whimper-like sound, nudging and burying his face into the other's fur, hoping to ease and satisfy the ebony cat.

In response, the cat scooted closer until both animals' bodies were practically melded together, and soon, both were drifting back into dreams that only bunnies and cats could have.
