The sun was shining on a cloudless day over the city of Vale, a bustling hive of activity in preparation for the upcoming festival. Banners lined the streets, bringing dashes of colour to an otherwise dull looking area. People moved between the streets, some more eager than others. Weiss had spent the entire journey here going on about the grandeurs of culture and the exquisite preparation that went into an event like this. Her company was distinctly less impressed.

"Okay seriously, why are we here?" Ruby asked, bored out of her mind. Weiss shot her a glare, launching into another speech, much to the disappointed groans of the sisters. They arrived at the seafront, still politely ignoring the heiresses ramblings. Yang rested her arms on the railings, looking out over the docks. She had filtered Weiss's endless talking into the background, instead admiring the beautiful view of the sea with the waves gently rolling across to the wall. Blake stood beside her, with Ruby and Weiss a little further to her left. Clearly none of them cared about meeting new students, they would much rather be preparing for the upcoming tournament. The boredom they shared was mercifully interrupted by a cry from the boat at the far end of the pier.

"Stowaway! Stop him!"

All four heads turned to look at two men pointing downwards, where a boy of roughly their age was landing from a jump, rolling with his momentum and launching himself into a run, bounding along at an impressive speed. Heads turned slightly to see two policemen dressed in white running towards them, intending to halt the intruder. He wound his way up the stairs effortlessly, flexing his thin prehensile tail behind him. 'Faunus.' Thought Weiss, glowering at him as he approached. Ruby left her mouth hanging open, not quite sure of what to do.

Blake was initially mildly interested, but her entire attitude changed in the instant he passed her by. It felt as though time slowed to a crawl, his head turning to look at her in a sense of serenity. And then he winked. At her. She was caught completely off guard, widening her eyes in surprise, mouth hanging open in disbelief. He moved past her in a flash, leaving her stunned and unable to speak, much to her embarrassment. She was distracted only seconds later by a loud 'thud'. She looked down, shocked at what she saw.

All of a sudden he was lying on his back, his white shirt hanging loosely on his chest. There was a very large red mark on his handsome face, rapidly swelling with pain. He seemed extremely disoriented as he groaned in a mixture of pain and confusion. Blake cast her gaze from the fallen faunus to his assailant, who still had her arm outstretched with Ember Celica fully opened. Yang had punched him directly in the face. Punched him. In the face. She sweetly threw her hands behind her back in a portrayal of innocence as the two police officers caught up, grabbing the boy by the arms and hauling him to his feet.

They dragged him away by his shoulders, leaving him staring at the distancing quartet, focusing on Yang in particular. Just as he was about to round a corner, he saw her tilt her head to the side with her hands on her hips as she winked at him, leaving him with no doubt of the state of play. Blake was hers, and she made sure that he knew that.
