Chapter 4 is finally here!
Before starting I shall thank once again all the people that review and follow this story (a special thanks to Major dose that put this story in her community! It's the first time one of my fanfictions gets put into a community *^*) and now I'll answer some questions:
X Dianashine: in your review for my one-shot (let feeling flow out) you asked me if GiottoxTsuna is my favorite paring and the answer is yes! It's basically my OTP xD my second favorite is R27! As for the other parings I enjoy them but I don't ship them as much as I ship G27 and R27 :)
X TsunaMoe: They'll meet again in this chapter. As for Daemon, he might appear in the future… but I have nothing planned for him yet. (as for the one-shot, no, I'm not going to continue it.. I prefer to leave the rest to the readers imagination XD )

»so we meet again«
Giotto stared at the document in front of him without really seeing it; the pen hovering in midair above the line in which he was supposed to place his signature.
It had been a week since his encounter with the new boy living a couple of houses from him and each day he found himself thinking about the brunet at random moments during his day.
Thoughts about him could be triggered by anything, even the weirdest things.
The color of his desk (it was brown, like his hair..), The honey that covered his pancakes when he ate them for breakfast (it reminded him a bit of his eyes..), and couches!(like the one he had lied on while being nursed by Tsuna..) and above all, vans.
He doubted he would ever be able to look at vans the same way ever again.
And now, here he was, staring at a blank space of the paper he was supposed to sign. It was white, like the piece of cloth Tsuna had use-thwack.
Someone had thwacked him with brute force, without warning, bringing him back to the boring, paperwork-filled reality.
Rubbing his head, Giotto looked up at his attacker and was not surprised when G scowling face came into view.
"What was that for?!"
"You know what that was for!"grumbled the tattooed man crossing his arms.
Yep, he knew.
But still, he did not like the painful way G had taken to bring him back to reality every time he would wander off to Tsuna-land.
"You know, if you want to see this brat so much you can simply walk to his doorstep and ring the bell".
"Really? And what am I supposed to say when he answers?!" snapped Giotto irritably. It wasn't that easy! Yet G seemed to think it actually was.
"What do I know? Say some shit like: neighborhood-bonding or something like that! He lives a couple of houses away from you no?! Or else you could say that you wanted to apologize for the inconvenience after getting hit with that v-vans door" added the red-head, trying to keep his laughter in while remembering when Giotto told him how he got that bump on his forehead.
"Apologize? It wasn't my fault! It was him that-"
"Opened the door without warning, yes, yes I know! But it is also your fault, if you had paid more attention, you might have saved your pretty face from the pain".
Giotto frowned and G smirked amused. It was always fun arguing with the blond when that Tsuna brat was concerned.
The blond man huffed, finally signing the document and taking another one from the pile.
"Even if I were to go ring his door bell, somehow manage to enter his house, start a conversation and cautiously drop some flirty lines while we are speaking, I doubt he would show any sign of… reciprocating my interest."
"And why the hell not?" grumbled G, frowning at that uncharacteristic display of lack of confidence from his best friend.
Giotto gripped the pen tightly, lips stretched into a thin, unhappy line. "I… don't think he… I don't want to…"
G stilled, finally understanding what the real problem was. His eyes widened at the realization.
Giotto was afraid of trying to get close to the brat. And that perhaps, no, certainly was what made a funny feeling start to bubble somewhere near his chest.
Soon enough, the feeling got recognized for what it was: Hope.
After his break-up with Daemon, Giotto had taken to start doing one-night stands. He would go out, to a bar or something, and most week-end mornings, G would find his boss, his best friend, sleeping next to some unknown dude.
He had hated those days, despised them! Yet, somehow that seemed to be part of Giotto's way of coping with the betrayal of the fucking melon-head.
If getting some attractive dudes on his bed made it easier for the blond to go on, he thought, then he was going to let him go on for a while.
And that he did.
At least until he couldn't take it anymore and basically forced him out of that shitty habit he had taken. With the help of the others (Knuckle, Asari, Lampo, and sometimes, even Alaude) it didn't take much time to get him back on track.
He still did it at times (he wasa kind of frustrated 24 years old male after all...) but not with the same mad frequency as before. And his 'boyfriends' (if one could call them that) lasted more than one night, even a whole month at times, and he was kind of fine with that.
As long as he didn't get lost again, G wasn't going to forbid Giotto from going out and have some fun with some dude.
But this. The fear he showed, was something he had been waiting to see for years.
Because that meant that this Tsuna-brat was different.
There was something about this kid that attracted Giotto and it was not mere physical attraction like with the blond one-night stands.
There was something more, something that went deeper than good-looks. And that something could bring forth the change he and his friends wanted to come.
Maybe, the kid could make Giotto fall in love again.
He and Asari had saw him once, when they were on their way to visit Giotto. He looked like a nice lad. The total opposite of Daemon.
And that, was what convinced him that this Tsuna could be good for his best friend.
If later on he were to discover that his and Asari instincts were wrong… well, he would take responsibility for pushing Giotto in trying to get close to the brat.
"From what you said, he seems like a nice young man… not the type of person that would do something like… that" G saw the pen his friend was holding tremble, grip on it so tight that it could break any moment. "and… you can't keep on like this forever" he added, putting more emphasis on 'this'. He knew Giotto understood that he was referring to his occasional… adventures, when he saw amber eyes rise up from their staring contest with the desk to pierce his red ones.
"It's the first time since then that you actually really feel something more than physical attraction for a stranger and… I really think you should give it a chance. If it were to end badly, well… it will never be worse that what you have already been through."
No, it wouldn't, not if that brat was the type of person both G and Asari thought he was.
Giotto exhaled. For a long moment, a thick silence hung in the room, and G was pretty sure he started breathing again only when Giotto opened his mouth to finally speak.
"I'll think about it".
There was something weird going on; of that, Tsuna was sure.
Because his life was getting weirder each passing day.
He was already shocked enough by the sudden reverence that he had started receiving form Gokudera since he saved him from certain death…but this, was something he would have never expected to happen.
After lessons finished, he had found a letter inside his locker and the more he read, the more his eyes had widened.
A challenge.
This Mochida dude had challenged him to a kendo match. The prize for the winner: ...Sasagawa Kyoko.
Now, Leaving aside the fact that Sasagawa was not a bloody trophy, he had no idea why this Mochida thought he would be interest in 'winning' the girl.
She often talked to him yes, always with that light blush on her cheeks and bright, gentle eyes… but if Mochida thought he was romantically interest in her, then he was wrong.
Oh so very wrong.
She was really cute for a girl yes, if he were a straight guy he was pretty sure he would have fallen for her in an instant. But that was the point.
He was not straight.
He didn't give a damn about girls, he was more interest in men. Tall and good-looking men yes… k-kinda like that dude he nearly killed some days ago… h-his hair seemed really soft and were a pretty blond. His face had a nice shape a-and his amber eyes had a fascinating orange hue that.. wait, STOP RIGHT THERE!
Tsuna blushed and covered his face with Mochida letter to hide his bright red cheeks.
What the hell?! Now he was fantasizing over some unknown man he would probably never meet again?!
"Ugh…" whined the brunet not noticing that Gokudera had reached him.
"Mh? Is there something wrong Juudaime?"
Tsuna jumped and took the latter off his face to look at his friend.
" Uh.. ehm.. well, I found this in my locker…" he muttered, happy for a moment that Mochida had put that stupid thing inside his locker.
He had yet to tell to Gokudera of his sexual orientation and… well he had no intention of doing it anytime soon. Enma was the only one that knew about it and… he was pretty sure his mom had never thought of him as a straight male for a while actually…
He gave the letter to the silver-haired teen and watched as his expression turned more and more murderous at each line he read.
"What.. this.. this bastard! Juudaime don't worry about this idiot! I can take care of him for you if you want!"
"NO!" screamed Tsuna taking back the letter and pocketing it. He had no wish to see the school gym explode and… he did not wanted Gokudera to possibly get hurt.
"There's no need… I'll take care of this, okay? It's.. personal"
"Kind of…"thought the boy, hoping his friend wouldn't argue with his decision.
Luckily, Gokudera seemed to accept that and smiled, going on about what a great person he was and how screwed that Mochida was.
Despite the uneasy feeling Gokudera adulation gave him, Tsuna smiled, he wasn't used to being praised like that and… he kinda liked it… having someone other than Enma and his mom that cared and cheered for him.
Now, if only he could stop his mind from going back to thoughts about that blond man…
Giotto cursed under his breath.
What was he doing?
He looked up at the nice plate drenched in rain . The name 'Sawada' sparkled under the raindrops, nearly mocking him.
When he told G that he would think about it, he had been lying. He had never had any intention of changing his previous, secret decision, to stay away and wait until Tsuna would (finally) leave his mind.
And yet, here was.
What was he doing?!
Lost in his thoughts, he did not notice a brown haired woman looking at him from the window of the house he was standing in front.
He also didn't notice when said woman opened the door and with umbrella in hand, she started making her way towards him.
"Good afternoon!"
Giotto jumped. Startled amber eyes connected with happy honey brown eyes that looked exactly like those of the person he had been thinking of frequently.
"Uh.. Good afternoon, ma'am"
The woman giggled at the formality and with a large smile she spoke to him again: "You are the young man Tsu-kun knocked over, right?"
Tsu-kun? Did she mean Tsuna?
"Ah… yes that would be me" murmured the blond man with a weak, embarrassed smile. Was she… was she Tsuna's mother?
The woman smile brightened and she extended an enthusiastic hand toward the blond CEO.
"My name is Nana Sawada, Tsuna's mom! Do you want to enter? I could make some tea while we wait for Tsu-kun to come back home. He had cleaning duty today".
"Eh-ehm, actually I… I have something to…" but Nana didn't let him finish. In a flash, she had his arm in her grip and a moment later, Giotto found himself sitting in the Sawada living room, perched on the couch he had lied on some days ago, with a cup of tea in his hands and a smiling Nana sited on the armchair on the other side of the coffee table, right in front of him.
"So" started Nana after taking a sip of her drink."What's your name?"
Giotto stared. His name? had he not said it to Tsuna?
He thought about it for a moment, repeating their conversation in his head and he realized that, in fact, differently from Tsuna, he had not introduced himself.
"Giotto Vongola" he said immediately after realizing that truth.
"Vongola? Isn't it the same name of that big building?"
"Yes it is. That's my building actually…" muttered the blond man a bit sheepishly. Why was he so agitated to talk with this woman?
He had dealt with far more intimidating people (actually, she was the less intimidating person he had ever talked to. Followed right after by her son), and yet, there was this uneasy felling squashing his stomach. The same one he felt when he wanted to make a good impression and was afraid to screw up.
Like… like a teenage boy going to meet his girlfriend father for the first time.
Giotto pursued his lips, blushing lightly.
…Why?
Why was he acting like that for a kid he had met only once and barely talked to?
Nana kept up with her questioning, sometimes saying something about her husband or her son. They chatted and soon enough, Giotto grew more comfortable around the woman. The uneasy feeling disappearing.
However, once the door opened and a familiar voice reached his ears, the uneasiness came back stronger than before.
"Mom, I'm home"
Nana brightened up and greeted her son back.
"Tsuna-kun, welcome back! Look! We have a guest."
If Tsuna stilled form and wide eyes were anything to go by, he was pretty sure that the boy had already noticed him the moment he had closed the door behind himself.
"Giotto-san said he came here to thank you for taking care of him and me for letting him sleep on the couch." She said with a bright smile gesturing for her son to sit… right next to him.
Oh .NO.NO!
He felt the couch move a bit under him. Even if he was keeping his eyes stubbornly glued to a point of the wall near Nana's head, out of the tail of his eye, he saw Tsuna's form plopping next to him rigidly and clumsily.
Clumsily enough that their knees accidentally touched and they both recoiled under Nana apparently oblivious gaze.
At that scene, the woman smile reached new levels of brightness and with a happy hum she stood up taking her cup with her.
"I need to go and finish my chores now. Have a good chat!" she shot Giotto a knowing look and left in a flash.
The two males stared at the point where she had been standing a moment ago with wide eyes. Why did she suddenly disappeared like that?!
An idea started surfacing in Giotto's mind but… he refused to believe it.
Could it be… could it be that… she had done it on purpose?! She wanted them to… get to know each other? And maybe even…
He blushed bright red not daring to finish that sentence. The knowing look she sent his way… was that her blessing or something like that?!
The blond man covered his red face with his hands not knowing what to do.
Now not only G was pushing him towards the brunet, even Tsuna's own mother was encouraging him on trying to get close to the younger boy.
With a gulp, he let his hands travel away from his face and risked taking a peek at the boy sitting next to him.
He was as rigid as a light pole. His hands were repeatedly turning and twisting in a clear show of embarrassment and agitation. Strands of brown hair were shadowing slightly his face but they could not hide the nice red hue that colored his cheekbones and ears. The lips, set into a thin flustered line, reflected perfectly the awkwardness that the brunet was feeling (not that he wasn't..).
Overall, it was a really cute view that left him all giddy inside, like an high school girl, because he knew he was the cause of it all.
"Ugh…" muttered Giotto in defeat.
There was no escaping this.
He needed to get to know Tsuna or he would never be able to sleep (yes, he had dreamed about him too) or work peacefully. Pheraphs he would discover that the boy was cheeky little prick and his new born feelings for the brown haired boy would flow out of him once and for all.
He turned around towards the brunet again and he noticed that Tsuna was staring at him. Only a light shadow of the previous blush was left on his cheeks but his ears were still bright red.
Surprisingly, it was the brown haired boy that spoke first.
"So we meet again" his voice was weirdly powerful. Like he was trying his best to speak with a high tone of voice.
"Yeah…" said quietly the older male, curious about that behavior.
After a moment of awkward silence and staring, fidgeting a bit ,Tsuna spoke again (since the blond was too taken in his contemplating of the brunet forced strong tone to say anything more than: yeah. Not that the boy knew…).
"How… how is your head?"
Giotto stared for a second before touching a point under his fringe. The bump was still there. Not as big as before but it had yet to leave.
"It's fine. I've got only an annoying bump on the forehead but-" he stopped when one of Tsuna hands shot up, sweeping away his fringe to take a look at his injury.
Stilling, Giotto let him control the level of the damage, kind of enjoying the worried look on the boy eyes. Tsuna's hand touched the purple/greenish bump near his hairline, fingers tracing the protuberance to ascertain his width.
"It's pretty big…" said Tsuna softly. He had inched closer during his examination and he had yet to notice it.
Giotto on the other end, had noticed their close proximity even too much. His eyes were now on eye level with the boys chin, (he had yet to rise them up. He was too afraid of what would happen if he were see his lips so up close). While the brown haired young man controlled his bruised forehead, he had started inspecting each body part of the brunet that he was able to catch sight of.
In his personal opinion, Tsuna had a very nicely shaped neckline. His neck wasn't too long nor too short, just the right size for his body physique. His fair complexion looked very…"delicious" (he thought with a whimper) now that he could see it so up close. Staring at it like that made him want to just inch closer so he could kiss and bit on it.
And that he did.
Or at least, tried to do.
In the exact moment Giotto leaned forward, Tsuna started distancing himself from him, his face suddenly replacing the delicious neck he had been targeting a moment before.
Giotto sucked in a breath when his eyes met with honey brown orbs.
He was so close that he could feel the lack of air coming out from Tsuna lips.
Apparently he wasn't the only one holding his breath.
Without thinking, he started moving closer again. Their lips brushed for a mere second before a loud thump brought both of them back to planet earth.
Giotto reeled back in the exact same moment as Tsuna did, shocked by what he had nearly done.
Nana had accidentally dropped forward, falling flat on the floor; half of her body sprawled inside the living room. Only later Giotto would have realized that she had lost balance while peeping on them from the doorway. Now on the other end, the only thing the blond could concentrate on was the dark red blush that had covered all of Tsuna's face and the sudden tightness of his pants.
Apparently, his bump wasn't the only 'pretty big'thing anymore.
Giotto blushed scarlet red, a powerful hue that nearly matched Tsuna's own blush and he shot up from the couch.
Clearing his throat awkwardly, he helped Nana up, ignoring the sorry look on her face.
Why was she sorry? There was nothing to be sorry about. It's not like they were really going to kiss.
…
Ooooh, who was he kidding?! They were totally going to kiss had Nana not fall down and woke them up from their trance-like state.
He put his jacket back on and turned around to say goodbye. His eyes met Tsuna's and they both stared at each other with a light blush on their faces.
Giotto simply bowed his head, not trusting his mouth to say anything intelligent and, surprisingly, Tsuna did the same.
He thought he would have screamed at him that he was a perverted maniac and to never come back (they were basically like strangers after all)… but he didn't.
He did not dared to believe that perhaps, that meant Tsuna too was into men and maybe, just maybe… he had a chance.
He nodded in Nana direction too and the woman smiled at him. That apologetic light still lingering in her honey brown eyes that looked so much like her son's.
"It was nice talking to you Giotto-kun. You can come back to visit us whenever you want to, okay?"
Giotto stepped outside in the cold, rainy weather.
"Sure" he said putting his best business smile on. "See you again, Sawada-san".
...
He was not going to come back. Ever. Not after what nearly happened. Despite how much he had wanted it, he could not allow his feeling to grow more than they somehow had already had.
It was a stupid idea, trying to get to know the boy.
Why? easy! becasue apparently he was not a cheeky little prick! the total opposite of it! A good boy that cared for the health of a stranger like him. A boy with an interesting character that he couldn't quite place and that interested him to no end.
What had possessed him when he thought that getting to know him would have helped?! And... well... not that he got to know much more than he already did... aside from some of his... body parts.
Actually, that visit had probably just made things worse.
He couldn't allow himself to fall in love again.
He sighed, not even bothering to open his umbrella while he walked home.
What was he going to do now? There was no way he could get rid of the memory of what happened some minutes ago any time soon.
He was already dreading …and also kind of eager(to his dismay) for the dreams to come… and he was pretty sure his visits to Tsuna-land were going to be more… colorful and detailed from now on.
Oh, It was going to be difficult to purge his mind from any Tsuna-related thoughts. But he needed to succeed.
And the fastest way to do that was to stay the hell away from him.
Nana and G will have to drag him by force if they wanted him to meet Tsuna again.
