2-21 - I suck don't I? Making you guys wait this long. Sorry guys, I have too many projects on other sites. It doesn't help that I have way too many ideas and things that I like. Or need to do. Really, it's quite a problem. Can't even put my ideas into words. Maybe I'll try fixing that with shorter chapters? Heh, I don't know. That'll increase the update rate at least.

I noticed a little error I made regarding the placement of some sections of the story. This could've been confusing or you guys might not even notice it at all until I point it out. Delsin's arrival on the city when it started to rain was the first day. Louise seeing Kirche about to leave and the appearance of our lightning man is the second day. Mixed up the position and will have to edit that in the future. But just to clarify, its only the second day now. Also... I need to update faster... I'm sorry guys. Half a year is not a good update time.. Nor eight months.

This writer who is still struggling under grammar problems calmly tells you that he does not own Zero no Tsukaima or InFamous Second Son.

And as always, sorry for being late... You guys should kick me for being late.

A storm is coming...

This is how you speak the Zero no Tsukaima Way

This is how you speak the Native Protagonist Way

'This is how you think normally,'

Stage 5... Action!

Second day of the servants staying over at the Capital...

Academy Library...

Louise knew where the library was. It was once a place she visited often. Its quiet atmosphere and the amount of books allowed her to study the concept of magic when she was a first year. Sometimes she was just there to borrow some novels to entertain herself, often at the recommendation of a maid whom she helped out in the past. It was definitely a large place and had a lot of books. Mostly quiet at times too, so it was a nice place to rest. She even fell asleep a couple of occasions when she was stressed.

But lately Louise has been avoiding that area. The reason?

"So..." Probably the exact same reason she was in here right now. "Louise. How have you been?"

"I'm fine Professor Colbert. A small case of a cold but it doesn't happen a lot," Louise answered. Just as she said that, she felt the urge to sneeze. Pulling out a handkerchief she covered her mouth just as she sneezed. The dignity of a noble must be kept up no matter what. At least that's what she thought. "Excuse me..."

Right now Louise was seated on one of the chairs with Colbert seating on the opposite side. They were inside one of the 'study rooms' as Colbert used to call these rooms. These sections of the library were much more quiet compared to the rest of the library. No one would hear anything if something were to happen here. Hard to eavesdrop too. The book he has was a very familiar book. Precisely the one she was reading a few weeks ago before she stopped going here.

A book that she read in the hopes of understanding the key to mastering magical elements.

"Well I'll get straight to what I wanted to ask you so that you don't get sick. There's been something that's been bothering me," Colbert started. Odd. He didn't look as casual has he usually does. The professor seemed serious. "Actually it applies to everyone in this Academy. But in any case, your familiar attacked you didn't it?"

"Yes," Louise grasped her right cheek. The scar there was... gone for awhile. She didn't know when they did it. Was it when her sleep? It was easily removed healed at least. Not much trouble out of that at least. Looking back, it was pretty silly of her to be angry at the water mage that tried helping her. "After the familiar runes formed, he punched me. All of that while screaming in pain, at least that's what I think he's doing."

"Hmm, if that's the case..." Louise held her breathe. Did this mean she failed after all? No. That can't be right. If she did she would've been kicked out a long time ago. Sent back into her parent's estate. And although she wants to meet up with Cattleya again, her mother and Eleanore would certainly not be happy. No. "-possibility."

"Umm, I'm sorry but I didn't hear the first part," Louise said awkwardly rubbing her head. "Do you mind saying that again?"

"The part about your familiar or your summoning ritual? Sure," Colbert closed the book. "Usually familiars summoned are dangerous. From wolves, to lions, to dragons, to manticores, and etcetera. You get the point. Normally they would maul any human they see, but because of the familiar runes they become harmless to their summoner. They even become friendlier to humans, or be devoted to their summoner. So the moment you branded your familiar with those runes, they shouldn't have attacked you afterwards."

Colbert took a drink from the glass of water nearby. His explanation took his breathe but Louise heard it all. "But your familiar attacked you afterwards. This never happened before and although there is a possibility..."

"A possibility of the familiars rebelling despite being contracted?" Louise asked confused. She considered these things before but couldn't really focus. She got migraines whenever she tries thinking deeper about it. "But then what would be the case?"

"Well there were a couple of times that it happened. There was that time a student summoned a large ape and even if he was unharmed, the familiar still pranked him time to time. Cases like those mostly apply to familiars that could be labelled as 'smarter than average'," Colbert seemed to bite his lip down. Louise also became more quiet. "One particular example was Brimir. He summoned an intelligent familiar-"

"-and Brimir summoned an elf." Louise finished. She knew about this. She read the books about Brimir and Void Magic. She read the history of Halkegenia. She knew where Colbert was heading with this topic. "He summoned an elf intelligent as a human, maybe more. And even though she worked with him, I found out that Brimir was harmed by the elf before."

"That is indeed true Louise. And that's what I want to talk about," huh? He's not even surprised by the information she found from the forbidden books? So Colbert already thought about that topic? But why was he so calm? He should've been mad at her for going to the forbidden books. "There is a possibility, no. Tallying up all your mistakes with regular spells, you have to be a Void Mage. I myself say it, you ARE a void mage, Louise."

A moment of silence. Louise wouldn't speak up and Colbert remained with that determined but serious look. He- he was serious? This wasn't a trap to get her to say hearsay? No, he's not like that. Can she actually tell him she actually thought of it? No wait. If this was the case he could get him executed for hearsay. Then she could definitely tell him.

"I-I actually thought about that but then decided there's no way I could be one."

"Louise if you are afraid of me blaming you for hearsay then you have nothing to fear. Besides, you've already looked into this topic before." Oh. So he did see her before looking at the other books. "I want to discuss your familiar," Louise tensed. Was this the part where the teacher tells her they couldn't find it?

"What is it?"

"There's absolutely no way for your familiar to hurt you since they're human. You performed the contract, so he should be following your commands and not trying to attack you. Unless there's something else."

"..."

"We can disregard the intelligence factor since your familiar had no motive or reason on why he would attack you. If anything, it would've tried to talk to you if it was intelligent. There's a possibility that this familiar of yours... well... isn't an individual when you summoned it."

"... I'm a bit confused Professor."

Louise's question was left unanswered Colbert continued on. "Because no matter what, as long as you summon something and perform the contract, it should have no desire to attack you. It should've started following you the moment it finished. I came up with a theory that your familiar might actually not be a single individual but it's actually-"

"Professor you referred to my familiar as a he didn't you?" Louise nearly shouted that one out. But it succeeded on halting Colbert.

Colbert paused. He was now looking at her with a surprised expression. The normally cool and collected teacher wouldn't respond for some time. Then he spoke.

"Wrong choice of words. I merely assumed that your familiar was male due to the way you described it."

"I-" Louise paused. Was she going to prod into what Colbert knew? He seemed to know something about her familiar... But if the Professor didn't want to tell then should she stop? If she demanded for it she could be labelled as a heretic. Colbert could always betr- why is she being like this? There's no way this nice Professor that everyone loves would do something like that to her. "Never mind."

No point continuing with that. With a weary sigh Louise prepared to listen to what Colbert will say next. At least he officially claims she's a void mage now.

"But Professor Colbert... This is a big thing. Me, being a void mage? It's... It's certainly possible but isn't this a lot to take in in just a day?"

"Don't think so. You were thinking of this before after all. That would be the reason why you went to the forbidden section of the library. Really, I wish more kids would do what you do. Nobles nowadays..." Colbert was beginning to stand up. Before Louise can even excuse herself for doing such a thing Colbert spoke again."However Louise, if you feel tired and want to continue this discussion later on just tell me. I also need to gather my thoughts. My theory isn't full proof after all. And it doesn't help that there has been rumors of someone planning to attack the Academy."

"T-that's terrible!" This time Louise did shout "We should tell Principal Osmond! We will all be danger then!"

"Already done Louise and please calm down," Colbert let out a sigh. "No point stressing ourselves over rumors like these. We already have one bad rumor about the 'beast' but so far nothing is happening. No one's being attacked. Everything will be fine but obviously you're tired. Maybe it's better to discuss this once you calm down. I can't talk about your familiar, suddenly my head's aching."

"Then I guess it would be better if you just rest instead of tiring yourself out Professor?" Louise began to get up unsure of what to say next.

"I will."

"Okay," Louise began walking away. She was still unsure of whether or not any of her other questions were answered but the big one's confirmed. She's a void mage. Now if she could only get back her familiar.. Her stupid familiar that ditched her.

... It can't be that servant that Siesta met wasn't it?

...

A certain inn ran by a scary scary man...

"SKREEE!"

"... I hate this game."

Delsin shook his head. This was the worst. This was the academy all over again. At least before he got the job. He's confined into a room because it was heavily raining outside. Every other 'human' didn't want to go outside in fear of getting sick. Delsin doubted he would get sick even if he stood outside for an hour. Taking off his earphones he looked around. Inside this dark room every other male servant with him was sleeping. No one to talk to at all. The Inn wasn't too expensive or poor since the owners were actually good friends from the academy. Then again there were many of them sleeping in the same room so that might be it. Around five of them are here right now when there's usually two people only in rooms like these. And then there's the part about this being called a tavern instead of an inn.

He thought that encounter with the weapon seller would've changed his day. Derflinger was something he want-no. It was something he needed to be able to fight and learn more about this place. A talking sword would've been so useful! But the weapon seller has to 'promise' that he'll give it to Delsin in the next day. He almost chose to beat up the useless shopkeeper. Key word almost. He still needs to keep his identity as a normal commoner. He didn't want any false rumors to spread either.

But most of all, Delsin felt really irritated. As in reaaaaally irritated. This wasn't like one of those times when he could just play a game to get rid of it. His emotions were in a jumble as if any moment he could blow off. As if he was really stressed or he had no sleep at all. The former he could understand but he's not even that stressed Delsin thought. The latter was impossible since he slept already.

"Better walk outside, maybe I'll fall asleep faster and get rid of whatever this is," Delsin said in annoyance. A sudden flash of lightning from the window made him jump. When he realized it was only the distant thunder from the rain, he sighed. "I need to calm down."

With that thought in mind and irritation still there, Delsin walked towards the exit and silently got out of the room. Time for some well deserved but soaked freedom. So he turned to run to the nearest window and use his powers there-

"Wha-Ow!"

"Oof!"

Only to bump into a girl. Due to him running, Delsin had accidentally pinned the girl down with his own body. A quick glance confirmed a couple of things. One, this was the attractive daughter of this inn's owner. Two, she needs to reconsider wearing a shirt like that or she might get sick from the rain outside. Three, she doesn't look injured. Four, deja vu.

Thankfully his hand didn't land on her chest... That was kinda a lost opportunity wasn't it? Quickly he got up to his feet as the girl (Jessica right?) began to stir.

"Sorry bout that Jessica," Delsin held out his hand to help her up. "Wasn't looking where I was going."

"Yeah, and running while doing that is probably not the smartest idea," he pulled her up. At least she was okay. Jessica sighed and looked at him. "And you're still awake. Why were you in such a rush anyway-.."

Suddenly Jessica trailed off. Her face changed from that annoyed look and into a look of realization. Delsin knew that she was misunderstanding the situation with that look alone.

"No, I am not meeting with some girl out there," he said with a weary sigh before she could even utter another word. Wait. That was stupid! He could've used that as an excuse to get out! Stupid!

"Ah, I thought you were courting a noble from the way you acted," Jessica sighed seemingly upset at her fantasies breaking. This girl must have read too many of those romance novels.. or had a boring life. Delsin considered it might be a light mix of both. "Well then if that's the case why are you in such a rush? It's almost midnight after all. The only reason you could have to would be if you just heard that your home village was being attacked by a dragon."

"Nnn-Yes."

"Hah! You're joking aren't you?"

"Yes. I'm actually a hero from another country who heard of a princess who needs to be saved."

"Ohhh, is that princess me?"

"Nope. She's in another castle."

"Aww. But I want a knight in shining armor."

"No worries dear lady," Delsin performed a mock bow. "You're actually a princess of this country that was kicked out by your half-sister."

"Hah! Wait, are you complimenting me?"

"Depends. Will you execute me if I say yes?"

Well that seemed to dissuade the tense atmosphere from awhile ago.

"You're quite the joker Keiji!" Jessica chuckled a bit at Delsin's joke, but then suddenly leaned closer. Oh. She's serious again. "But no seriously, where are you going?"

Well.. There's no dodging this. He could either answer her question or run away... No. Knocking her out and getting outside is not the choice he's going to go for. He'll need to just talk to her. But should he make up an excuse or- what kind of excuse can he make up anyway? Who in the world would want to go outside in a weather like this? She might not even let him leave, or let him go since he's obviously crazy and...

"Outside," Delsin pointed at the window for emphasis. He couldn't see her face when she turned to the window but he knew what she's thinking. "I felt like I need a breathe of fresh air. Or the strong gales and the rain hammering into me."

"You can't sleep can't you?"

"..." Now that he thought about it, Delsin realized he could have just summed up everything as 'Couldn't sleep'. "Nope. No matter what I do I can't. I just feel irritated. And trapped."

"Do you want some milk?"

"..." 'Did I just hit jackpot!? Am I about to nail a tavern wench in some alternate world faster than a plumber could get nailed!?'

"The drinks we serve can help people fall asleep faster," Jessica explained turning to him with a smile. It was Delsin's turn for his perverted fantasies to break. "Then there's the beer, which I'm sure you can drink since you look old enough. Oh and talking always help doesn't it?"

Hmm. Doesn't seem like bad choices. Maybe he needed someone to talk to that he can actually have a joke with. Yeah. That option seems like the best one. His response was a nod and a smile. Jessica turned back and began to walk towards the stairs, with Delsin following.

"But wait, aren't you about to sleep?"

"I took a nap earlier so I'm not sleepy. Let's go downstairs, I'll get you some milk."

"Please don't say that."

"Eh?"

Capital City...

The carriage entered the city.

Despite the stormy weather the horses continued their trek not even slowing down. The man riding on top of the carriage didn't seem to care either. He was there to protect the Princess. Ensure no harm falls into the group. Well technically he's there to help out. It's the royal guards that were protecting the Princess. He just chose to scout and clear any potential attackers ahead. That's why they had such a smooth journey. At least they did. Whenever a liquid matter made contact with him, it forced him to activate his powers unwillingly.

Right now, he was sparking as if he was a bug zapper. Not that it damaged him. It just annoyed him. If that wasn't happening he would've been able to sleep.

The horses began to slow down and 'Green Hood' let out a sigh. Maybe he can finally get some sleep tonight. They didn't even slow down the entire journey, only stopped at night.

"Hmm?" With the slower speed, the man saw something.

It was a store. Possibly a store that sells jewelry. He could make out three figures inside the place snatching up whatever they could with their greedy hands. Won't even slow down. They were experts. He could only tell they were there because of his powers. They were quiet and there were no visible broken entrances. They had weapons too, probably daggers. And one or two were on the edge of the entrances around the shop just standing there. All in all, a good way to rob the store.

He was impressed with how prepared they were.

The carriage continued on. The man turned back to the path ignoring the group of thieves. There was another thunder strike. Quite far. Probably near the forest they passed earlier. Not that it mattered. He made sure no lightning would strike their carriage. Or if it did, well he'll take the brunt of it.

A few more minutes of this silent trek. Did the people inside fall asleep? They were already inside the capital but they didn't seem to care. Hmm, well as long a the driver was awake they should be fine...

"Hey... you're awake aren't you?... Rider?"

"What!?" The gruff man's voice yelled out from down there. "I can't hear you! Speak out!"

'Man this guy's voice is louder than thunder,' the man thought. "NEVERMIND!" Why did he even doubt this man would be asleep? He could sense his pulse and brain activity with just a heartbeat... Or a radar pulse. If anything happened, they would be fine. If the rider did fall asleep, it wasn't as if the horses were going to crash into a random inn like that one over there...

Heh, what a funny thought. The royalty crashing into the Charming Fairies Inn due to the horses not even-

The man blinked. He turned to the side with his arm filled with electricity. No. Way.
...

"I mean aren't you tired of them? They probably try to grope you, those bastard perverts! Unlike actual hardworking commoners they do it whenever they want!"

"Well it doesn't happen often since I'm in the kitchen," Jessica said calmly as she took a sip from her drink. Unlike her companion, she wasn't of legal age to drink beer... But who's stopping her? "And it's been happening less-"

"Nobles are truly truly annoying!" Delsin shouted with zeal. There were two empty mug right in front of him. One can only guess what the contents of the drinks were. Jessica couldn't help but chuckle at this man. "They truly are the worst!"

If he actually said this to a noble he'll be dead within a heartbeat.

...

Ange rose up. His hands clenched into fists and he gritted his teeth.

The man suddenly leapt off the carriage seemingly becoming filled with white electricity. He looked like he was flying now, his green cloak flapping. The electric sparks he released earlier due to the water couldn't compare to how bright this man looked now.

...

"Heh! Then the part where they overwork you at the academy-"

"Keiji, maybe you should sleep now. I think you can just sleep now-" Jessica glanced to the window.

There was another thunder. Strangely, the flash that occurred this time was lasting much longer compared to the past. Was Brimir really angry? Wait... Is that a-... man?

...

The wind was going against the man's direction. And with him having no grip on his cloak and having leapt off the carriage, his hood was blown off his head.

What it revealed was a very angry bald man. A man sparking with electricity and reading an electronically enhanced punch. With a loud angry shout, Cole MacGrath roared. The man that sacrificed himself to save humanity. Sacrificing the first generation of conduits to ensure that humanity will live on.

And his shout was heard by the world.

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU HERE!?"

...

A bright red flash. Then... an explosion and thunder.

Karmic Skip Point 3

3 - 5 (One week distance from my apology? Well... progress?) Take good notice of how Cole wants to kill what he's going to attack.

Oh, is that a potential DelsinxJessica? Might have to delay that with what's coming next. Namely one pissed off Cole. Or is it really Cole MacGrath? I mean in another way you can interpret Kessler as Cole.

But in truth guys, the one that really gave me trouble in this chapter is Louise's discussion with Colbert. I'm just not satisfied with it and kept getting migraines like Delsin trying to get over his amnesia here. I do like what I'm going to go with in the next few chapters. If I ever make em :p

If you faithful fans are still out there, I love you guys... Also... Jessica might be a conduit.

Also, for any To aru majutsu fans out there, Realization (infamous and majutsu crossover of mine) had just updated. With a bit of inclusion of a really great manga called one punch man. I recommend that. Heck I might make an OPM FOZ crossover soon. Maybe as a oneshot.

Of and if you guys haven't seen yet, I have made the first Five Nights at Freddy Crossover with Familiar of Zero. Crazy Louise will be a thing there.
