Hello, here's the next chapter! Sorry it took SOOO BLOODY LONG!
It came from somewhere
Beyond the farthest reaches of the world that we know
Like a creature of shadow.
Chapter 3
Let go.
"Get North and Wales out." Whispered Scotland, looking at the place his little sister had been moments ago.
"Aye."
"Naw! Where's englan'? Where'd she go?" North cried as Ireland pushed him and Wales out the room, who was staring in shock. Ireland was trying to get the two out but Northern Ireland was putting up a good fight and Wales was like a rock, he just stood there unmoving.
Scotland looked down at his lap. He wanted to cry… but he couldn't. Alice, his little sister was…gone. But he didn't feel like she was gone, he… he would know if she was dead. She wasn't dead. She wasn't. After all they've been through she wouldn't die because of some stupid fucking yank.
"Mister Alba!" Scotland looked up to see a young fairy staring at him.
"…..What?"
"Alice isn't gone! She's not gone!" Scotland's eyes narrowed.
"Then Whaur is she?"Demanded Scotland. He didn't mean to sound harsh, luckily the fey knew that. Ireland spun around to see the fairy, North ran straight past and next to Scotland. He didn't even know what to do now.
"I-I'm not su-" Then there was a loud bang. Scotland stood up quickly and stared at the bed in shock, Ireland's eyes almost popped out of his head and North was gaping.
Nothing. She couldn't feel anything anymore. She was floating in a black abyss, there was nothing here. Nothing. Nothing.
It was content, peaceful. Nothing. It was what she always wanted, to feel nothing.
"Alice, poppet wake up." But Alice didn't want to. She wanted to stay like this. Nothing.
"Come on dear~" Sighing, Alice opened her eyes. There was no longer nothing, there was something. She was in a white room now, but she was entirely alone.
At least she thought she was. Shadows were in front of her, two to be exact.
"Hello poppet." One of them spoke.
"O-Olivia?" asked Alice confused.
"Yes Poppet~ you sound worried. What's wrong darling?"
"… Why can't I see you two?" The other shadow, the one Alice guessed was Oliver, spoke this time.
"Because poppet, we don't have forms yet."
"How?"
"You never gave us any." Said Olivia "We won't have any til you give us one!"
There was silence for a few moments.
"Alice, let go." Said Oliver softly. The shadow appeared to kneel down and a shadow shaped hand reached out to touch her cheek. It was so cold, yet she leaned into the touch.
"I thought I did." The shadow known as Olivia knelt down as well, chuckling a little.
"Leave it to us. Just let go."
"B-but-" Oliver's shadow hand placed a finger on her mouth.
"No buts let go."
"…Why do you even care?" asked the blonde, Oliver removed his hand.
"We love you." They replied in unison.
"Love?... Love? How can you love me? I'm a heartless bitch." Alice laughed, recalling the cruel words she had been told so many times. Olivia looked at Oliver, they both looked at Alice.
"We don't think that of you Alice. Let go poppet."
Alice didn't know what to do, how did she 'let go?'
"Let go of everything. Everyone you love, all the regrets you have." Prompted Olivia, her shadow forcing Alice's head onto her knee. Or what Alice assumed was a knee. She felt a hand stroking her head. Alice felt her eyelids slowly closing over her eyes. She began to let go. She forgave Francis, she forgave Ludwig. She forgave her brothers…. She forgave Alfred.
She forgave herself.
She let go.
"The heartless were often the ones who cared too much."
The four stared in shock.
"W-what?" Asked Northern Ireland. "I don't understand."
Wales and Scotland walked slowly over to the bed.
"Alice?" asked Wales hesitantly.
Sitting on the bed, was a small baby. Around six months of age and wearing a white dress. Her hair was long and scraggly, falling over her face, and beneath the tufts of hair was a pair of wide green eyes. Eyes that belonged to their sister.
Scotland hesitantly leaned forward and picked up the child.
"Alice?" asked Northern Ireland. Ireland stood there in shock.
"The fuck has happened?"
"I-It's…."
The four brothers turned to face the fairy, puzzled and slightly angry looks on their faces.
"Alice?" The blonde child looked up into the face of her eldest brother and patted his chest.
"She's… a baby? What the 'ell?" asked North in confusion. This wasn't his sister…. It couldn't be. His sister, England, Alice was a strong, powerful, dangerous and beautiful nation. Not a baby.
Wales wasn't looking at his sister; his eyes were darting round the room. The magic was dark, so dark it scared the fey away. Wales wanted to leave… But he knew he couldn't. Ireland noticed Wales out of the corner of his eye, his younger brother was shaking and his eyes were wide. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
Sending a quick glance over to his sister, who was currently being inspected by Scotland. He walked over to Wales and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Are ye alright Wales?" Wales's shaking seemed to increase.
"I…It's so dark." Ireland sighed; Wales and England were both been extremely sensitive to magic. Ireland cupped Wales's face in his hands and made Wales look him in the eye.
"You're alright." Wales relaxed in his brother's hold and the shaking stopped.
"Sorry."
"Naw need ter apologize."
"Is Wales a'richt?" The two turned to see Scotland holding a baby England and Northern Ireland staring at England in confusion. Ireland let his hands fall to his side.
"Aye."
"…Wat are we gonna do?" asked North, staring at baby England. Scotland looked at the…infant in his arms. The infant who was staring at him with the emerald eyes we knew so well.
"We're going ta look in every bloody book we can fin' tae git ta th' bottom of this." Scotland stated firmly.
"Aye."
"Aye."
"…Aye."
"We're al' gonna 'elp 'er." Said North.
"And in the mean time, no one can know of her condition." Stated Wales.
"Bah!" Alice finally decided to chip in; the four brothers stared at her, as she blinked at them in confusion.
"….Ah forgot how cute she wis as a bairn." Mumbled Scotland, holding the child close to his chest. Little England nuzzled Scotland's chest.
"She doesn't act like a normal baby…. How old would you say she is?" asked Wales, staring at the baby.
"Yer forget nations mature faster, an' englan' wus alwus wee for 'er age." Chipped in Ireland.
"This is just giving me a headache….Can we go downstairs?"
The four brothers all made their way downstairs, North headed straight for the kitchen while the other three made themselves comfortable in England's living room.
"Whit arr we going tae dae?" asked Scotland, little England nuzzling his chest.
"Well, for one we tell the other nations. Who knows what they would do if they knew how defenceless England was…"
"Dylan's Richt. Na one can ken."
"Speakin' av dylan. Wat 'appened upstairs exactly?" asked Patrick, staring at his brother with inquisitive eyes. Dylan squirmed slightly, not liking the stares he was receiving.
"Everything just felt…dark, it was consuming me and I knew if I let it… I wouldn't come out." Alistair and Patrick shared glances at each other before looking at Dylan, who was fidgeting nervously in his seat.
"…So, something dark 'n' magical did this tae Alice?" asked Alistair, his grip tightening on little England slightly.
"Aye." At this moment, Northern Ireland walked in, carrying a tray of tea. He placed it on the table and gave each one of his brothers a cup of tea. Only Ireland noticed his cup was smaller than the other cups, but he didn't say anything. They didn't have time to needlessly bicker, that would be saved for later.
"'ey, since Iggy's a… baby... who's gonna ter de meetin' the-morra? an' waaat are we gonna say, When people ask aboyt 'er?" asked North, taking a seat in England's squishy armchair.
"Oh shite."
Long wait? I'm so sorry
Anyway, I'll probably keep referencing the song 'Uninstall' in this fic, obviously, it's what inspired me to write this story. It's also one of my favourite songs.
I don't really have an excuse except school. Anyone other writers out there know how much school can get in the way
Also, I lost my notebook with the notes in for this story. So I was a little lost, still haven't found it but meh.
"The heartless were often the ones who cared too much." That's what someone said about me once, when I was called heartless. I nearly cried.
Til next time!
