As announced, I have decided to follow the suggestion of user NatalieLynn and upload the summary instead of taking the story down. Thank you to those who replied to the announcement and for your understanding. Thank you also to all readers for the support you have given me. Finally, sorry to all that I have disappointed.
Quick note: The following summary is rough in that while I planned ahead, the later portions were less mapped out and consequently, the summary gets less and less detailed; it also might, therefore, not be entirely plot hole-proof and may suffer from continuity errors - sorry about that. Nonetheless, I hope this can at least give some closure to those who followed this story.

Part II (continued):
Jennel has a flashback to an apparent drowning sequence. Jennel goes to the lake in the morning, deliberately avoiding Kol's house. He notices her anyway and they have a short chat. She goes into the woods for most of the day and then heads into town in the evening where she is confronted by Jozef; she dodges him. At night, she sends the family off and watches the snow fall. She takes off her necklace and contemplates it. The next day, Jennel, Cynthia, and Alexia head into town to gather information on Carter, successfully discovering his prior occupation and general habits; it's not much to go on however and they more or less hit a dead end. Jennel and Sophia head to town again in the afternoon to restock supplies; they see Kol and Rebekah wandering about but do not interact. The next day, Rebekah skips town, arguing with Kol in the process. Kol heads to the woods in frustration. Jennel, after helping Alexia with making some new arrows, is left alone when the other heads to bed. She unknowingly falls asleep in a tree. Kol comes across this and attempts to toy with her by influencing her dream. It goes out of control however when the setting he creates gets completely (in the dream, literally) flooded. Jennel wakes up and does not notice his presence; he does not confront her. She finally realizes she forgot to put her necklace back on and rectifies the problem.
She goes into town at night to continue investigating the vampire problem while her family is out hunting. Jozef again bothers her and, wound up enough by the earlier dream, Jennel starts subconsciously psyching herself up to kill him. Kol intervenes, compels Jozef and his friends away and leaves. A few days pass and Jennel is fit to return to the field. She talks with Cynthia after she returns from hunting with the report that more compelled vampires have started appearing. She gets a flashback to her first vampire kill where her target talked to her; the event proves disconcerting to this day as it contradicts the family's beliefs that vampires are emotionless. That night, she heads out hunting and kills one compelled vampire. Another however manages to evade her though she lands a dagger in his back. Her chase leads to Kol's house and she checks up on him under the guise of helping her the other day. She sticks around the house for the rest of the night since she believes the escaped vampire is still around; Kol finds the dagger.
Dawn breaks and she returns home, voicing her discomfort about the whole situation to Alexia. She suggests she double checks her prior conclusion that Kol is clean so she heads to the lake again, now finding blood stains from the vampire earlier in the vicinity. Kol comes out of his house – further solidifying her belief that he is human – and the two have a conversation; she reveals that the reason she always sticks around the lake is because her mother drowned in it while saving her a long time ago in the winter – her necklace was also given to her by her dead mother. Later in the evening, while the family is at home having a meal before heading out for the nightly hunt, it is quickly noted that three of Jennel's cousins – twins Leon and Ethan, and Sophia – had gone missing. While the family is getting riled up, they return, Ethan carrying a bloody Leon and Sophia running ahead for help; they had found Leon in the woods having a very one sided fight with a vampire. Said vampire then left after they showed up. Ethan was too distraught to notice very much but Sophia believes the vampire to be Kol. The entire family immediately turns on Jennel while she continues vehemently denying that Kol is a vampire, eventually leaving the group to avoid physical conflict.
While moving through the woods, she deliberately takes an unfamiliar path and ends up stumbling across the dumping ground for all the people the vampires have killed. She is attacked by a guard Kol left there but is saved by Alexia who had followed her. Alexia returns to the family to report the finding while Jennel stays behind in case anymore vampires show up. Kol appears after hearing the confrontation but neither recognizes the other due to it being night time and Jennel wearing a hood. They fight but before either can kill the other, they notice who they are fighting and stop. Kol bolts after he hears the other hunters approaching. Jennel despite confirming the identity of the vampire continues to deny everything when questioned by her father, and leaves. Kol, still wandering the forest, is confronted, ganged up on and subsequently captured by the combined efforts of Veronica, Alexandra, Cynthia, and Alexia after they successfully overdose him on vervain. Jennel goes to investigate the house the next morning after waking up. She concludes he may very well have left town entirely and heads home. Before her family realizes her presence though, she finds out that they had caught Kol and retreats. After a long debate with herself, she decides to help him. Kol is tortured for information he does not give and has flashbacks to when he first turned.
Night falls and Jennel breaks into the barn to rescue Kol, in the process choking out Sophia and Jake who were guarding the place, crushing her hand while attempting to soften the sound produced from the door opening, and letting Kol feed off of her because he was too weak to move on his own and she needed them to move faster. They successfully escape and both exhausted, she leads them to an old cave the family used to use for training where they pass out. Kol wakes up first the next morning, heals her up, and the two have a long talk.
Kol and Jennel stay in the cave for a while longer, talking more, before Jennel decides that she needs to go back to see her family. She does (without Kol whom she insists returns home) and an argument breaks out when she returns and admits to having let Kol out. Her father threatens her and states that "she is not his daughter" and brings his knife at her. After a squabble, Jennel leaves and finds Kol. He states that he cannot stay there anymore and since he now owes her, she could tag along if she wanted. She does.
TIME JUMP: ITALY 1114
Kol and Jennel settled in a small town in Italy and have been living there (as next-door neighbors) for a while now. They have significantly distanced over time. The other Originals are also in town. Jennel is shot with an arrow while she's out in the front one day but the attacker leaves. Kol (returning home) heals her with his blood and leaves. On the same day, Kol was invited to go to a party with one of Bekah's acquaintances. He goes in the evening and along with his siblings, is daggered (following TVD timeline i.e. the original Hunters). Meanwhile, Jennel finds a seal on the arrow and bolts out to find Kol. Turns out, she knows one of the hunters (an uncle) who then offers to deal with her. He heard about her betrayal and they have a fight. Though Jennel is faster, her uncle is still the better fighter (plus a Hunter) and he manages to fracture her forearm. They end up in the woods where he tells her something and then manages to kill her after a long fight. The uncle returns and starts experiencing chest pains and breathing difficulties and then follow TVD timeline where Klaus wakes from the dagger and kills the Hunters, undaggering everyone but Finn, whose body he moves out. Kol finds the dead Jennel, thinks she is truly dead and buries her, taking her necklace; she wakes up in transition, has a lot of trouble getting out of the ground (since she was buried), and wanders around. Not understanding what's going on, she gets overwhelmed by bloodlust and kills someone, in the midst of her confusion and guilt, she flips it.
TIME JUMP: ESTONIA 1429
Kol has made some friends with witches (he also finds out that the necklace has protective spells on them that they don't recognise) since he finds having them as allies to be useful, the witches tell him about town massacres and asks him to help. Kol goes to a burning town and finds Jennel. They fight after a short conversation where he figures out she flipped the switch and witches show up and launch wood (using magic) at Jennel to stake her, Kol takes the attack and this confuses Jennel enough to get caught. Later, Kol attempts to reason with Jennel but she doesn't listen. He gives her back her necklace; Jennel escapes the cell and using a second lapis lazuli stone, threatens a random witch to make a daylight ring. She stuffs the necklace with vervain as well.
TIME JUMP: MONTANA 1696
Kol manages to track down Jennel to a small town; they fight and he eventually compels Jennel to turn her emotions back on (after pulling her necklace off). They spend a long time together and get (somewhat) together, before parting ways again (temporarily) after Jennel tells him what her uncle told her: she was adopted into the family. She wants to go out and find out more. They rather ambiguously promise to meet up again.
TIME JUMP: NEW ORLEANS 1909
At some point, Jennel and Kol met up again; some Silas stuff is mentioned. It is revealed that for Silas to reach full power, he has to make use of an 'Expression Pentacle' which is a pentagram formed by 3 Expression Triangles. Each triangle needs to be 'activated' as it guards a particular realm (the Other Side is one of them). Following TVD timeline, the Originals are currently ruling the city and they got wind that an old vampire (Marcel because I'm ignoring TO almost entirely) with an army is planning to take over rule. Kol takes Jennel along to see his family on one of their 'meetings' at the main house (seen in the flashback before): she meets Klaus and Elijah properly for the first time and does not get along with Klaus but is okay with Elijah. She just misses Rebekah who went to town.
Klaus states that he wants to make use of the witches to fight but Kol (and Jennel who backs him) do not like that since they have befriended the local coven and respect the witches. They argue and Elijah tries to mediate, dragging Kol along to have a talk with him. Klaus thinks that Jennel is causing a problem, incorrectly deciding that if he removes her, Kol would be more agreeable. He attempts to get her into a room deeper in the house alone (to kill her since the others would be able to hear them otherwise) but she panics: the circumstances of her transition gave her claustrophobia. Kol and Elijah break up the fight and Elijah makes Kol and Jennel leave. Jennel and Kol attempt to skip town after it is clear that Klaus wants to use force on them but Kol knows they won't succeed so he forces Jennel to leave and then waits for Klaus, asking that his brother doesn't chase Jennel. Klaus doesn't give a straight answer and they fight a little in which Kol gets daggered. Jennel succeeds in leaving town. Klaus carries the desiccated Kol back to the mansion and Elijah, returning home, sees him. The two argue and Finn gets mentioned as well. Elijah is disgusted by Klaus and attempts to free Kol and get Finn's whereabouts but Klaus is stronger and almost succeeds in daggering him. The fight wrecks the house and Elijah flees from Klaus. Rebekah returns and Klaus tells her what happened, but she stays out of loyalty and a general lack of choice to go elsewhere or face daggering herself.
Part III: The First Immortal
Mystic Falls, Back to present.
Kol is fine and rips the stake out, Jennel snaps Elena's neck and forces Jeremy to invite Klaus in. They corner Jeremy but hear Bonnie coming so they take Elena, leaving. They lock her up in Jennel's basement. Jeremy tells them what happened and the Mystic Falls Gang (MFG) (Stefan, Jeremy, Caroline, Bonnie, Matt and Damon behind bars) put their heads together to figure out what exactly is going on. Eventually, with Bonnie's help, they deduce that Elena's location and attack when the Originals are out. They manage to take down Jennel and save Elena; they catch Jennel to use as leverage.
While driving, Jennel wakes up in a car boot which causes her claustrophobia to kick in and she freaks out. Kol shows up to help her (by crashing the car), snaps her neck and leaves with her immediately (doesn't fight Stefan or Elena who were in the car) in an attempt to hide her claustrophobia. During discussion, Damon realizes what happened anyway. Rebekah comes by to the MFG house (Salvatore house; they are attempting to pass ownership to Jeremy). She says she'll help them get rid of her brothers and relieve Damon of his compulsion (by compelling him to stay directly next to Stefan, Caroline or Bonnie by their verbal choice, so he is forced to stay away from Jeremy so long as the person he's stuck with is away from him even though he is compelled to kill him) if they'll give her the cure. Damon agrees but he plans behind her back anyway.
Bonnie and Jeremy deal with Jennel by locking her in her house (they decide not to try confronting her because she is too aggressive, they have no solid leverage and they have limited manpower); Caroline is supposed to get Tyler's help to distract Klaus but he refuses, saying he needs to go his own way. He does however give them werewolf venom. They have an argument and Tyler skips town. Caroline deals with Klaus on her own and the rest of them go after Kol by using Rebekah to lure him. Rebekah is supposed to dagger Kol but they share a moment and she becomes too guilty. They use werewolf venom, vervain and physical force on him so he can't fight back but Rebekah doesn't want to dagger him anymore. Matt does it instead, much to Rebekah's distress, which ends Damon's first compulsion. She shoves them away and repeats that she doesn't want Kol daggered anymore. She has a squabble with them and they dagger Rebekah (ending Damon's override compulsion) while her attention is turned.
Klaus and Jennel (after the spell wears off (it was tied to the sun)) head to the Lockwood Mansion to save them but the whole plan was meant to distract them. Stefan tricked the MFG to let Jeremy and him sneak out under the guise of removing him to keep him safe while Damon (who would be more suspicious as he would be expected to pull a stunt like that), stalls Jennel and Klaus. April is brought over to create the impression (number of heartbeats) that there is an extra human to confuse Jennel and Klaus. Stefan brings Jeremy to the cemetery where he and Damon have turned a bunch of people and locks Jeremy in. Jeremy is forced to kill them.
Klaus is pissed and heads off, returning with Bonnie's dad and threatening them. Jeremy kills all the vampires and the mark is complete; Stefan calls Damon. Bonnie wants to leave to help her dad but the others stop her, convinced that Klaus won't do it; Caroline instead tries to talk Klaus down but he snaps that he is sick of her using him and that his family is more important. He kills Bonnie's dad causing her to have a mental breakdown while Elena and Caroline try to comfort her. Her powers flare and she hears the voice in her head again. Damon bargains that they will let Kol and Rebekah go if they don't follow them. They agree and are let into the house. The MFG flee with Damon leading the way to find Stefan and Jeremy while Klaus and Jennel go in the house. Kol and Rebekah are undaggered, Rebekah promising that she will now do her best to stick by her family from here on out. With the mark complete, the MFG find Shane, drop April off and leave to the island. The Originals and Jennel talk in the Mikaelson Mansion and Klaus makes an offhand remark that if they're going to be serious about all this, they need a witch. Kol says he knows exactly where to find one.
On the island, the MFG and Shane trek through the woods, following Shane. Bonnie and Jeremy stick together a lot as he tries to make her feel better about her dad and comforts her. Caroline does not go along as she wants to find Tyler. Lynette comes to town and they have her track the MFG, getting them the island's location. Klaus contacts Elijah and asks him to come and help them, telling him about Kol's almost-demise. Meanwhile, Bonnie and Jeremy bond a lot and talk about their feelings for one another and Anna. He states that he'll always stand by her side from now on. The Originals Gang (OG) (Originals, Jennel, and Lynette) head to the island, going after the MFG.
At the island, Jeremy is wandering around and Shane catches up to him. Shane shares some back-story and his motivations to raise Silas. Jeremy states he wants the cure for Elena and does not give a damn about Silas. He turns to leave but before he does, Shane sticks something in his neck and he collapses. The others quickly notice Jeremy's absence and set out to find him. Damon is suspicious of Shane and attempts to interrogate him but without compulsion, it doesn't work as Bonnie saves Shane. After Damon leaves, Shane tells Bonnie to follow him using her trust for him. On the boat, Lynette, Rebekah and Jennel spend some time talking as they share about their families. The OG arrives at the island. Shane has lured Bonnie to the hole/cave thing and tells her to do the spell. Bonnie refuses and attempts to get away, her unstable powers flaring. The OG split up to find the MFG; Kol and Jennel, Rebekah and Lynette, and Klaus alone as he insists he can take care of himself. Stefan is out alone while Damon and Elena are together. Damon argues with Elena about her physical humanity and she insists she wants it back, leading them to argue and separate. Elena finds the cave accidentally and goes in. Jennel and Kol find the MFG campsite and follow Elena's scent.
In the cave, everyone is fighting because of Shane's weird behaviour. They make a truce so everyone gets what they want; Shane however does not tell that that there is only one cure and that someone has to die to wake Silas and get it (them finding out about this is why he tried to get Bonnie to start without them). Bonnie starts the spell with Jeremy while Jennel and Kol jump in. Jennel immediately goes for Bonnie but Elena comes in to protect her and fights Jennel. Kol goes at Bonnie and Jeremy. Off at the side, Shane remarks snidely that there's no stopping it. In a moment of pure desperation, Kol kills Jeremy just as the spell is completed and the wall of the cave gives way partly. Jeremy dropping to the ground shocks everyone and Jennel throws Elena off her and approaches Kol. Kol stares at her for a while, looks at Jeremy and then flees, Jennel following after him. Elena and Bonnie immediately go into grief while Shane claws at the rock, opens the tomb enough and clamours in.
Jennel is following Kol's scent (she's still slower than him) and he knows that so he jumps down into a lake. She follows the scent but comes out drenched and extremely irritated. Kol wanders the woods, feeling very panicky and then sees 'Henrik'. Elijah shows up and confronts Jennel about the situation and then they hear Kol shouting/yelling/snapping at someone. They head in that direction. Shane has meanwhile reached Silas and starts talking to him; Silas's eyes open. Bonnie and Elena are going into shock; Bonnie's power starts surging in response to her emotions. Elena goes into denial. Elijah and Jennel find Kol with a branch through his gut; he'd stabbed himself at some point and is conversing with people they can't see (Henrik, girl with bucket from flashback (first intentional kill), Finn, Mikael and Esther). She tries to calm him down while he tells them both to leave (thinking he might accidentally harm/kill either of them). Jennel refuses and Kol backs away from her, eyes growing red. Elijah snaps his neck and says they need to leave so he needs to find the others; Jennel stays with Kol.
Damon and Stefan find the cave with the dead Jeremy and move him away; Bonnie and Elena leave with them. Bonnie's powers collapse the entire cave. She hears the voice in her head while Elena stays completely silent, in denial. Jennel pulls the branch out of Kol and sits with him, listening to the woods. Shane appears to her and frowns. Jennel gets up and threatens him but then he just says (without physically saying): "It's you." Then there is a distant snap of a branch caused by the returning OG and 'Shane' is gone. The OG says they went back to the cave but it's filled in with rock. The crew all return with their losses. 'Shane' goes back with the MFG but there is something distinctly odd about him; he does not talk and keeps eyeing Bonnie. Bonnie dreams of an odd man who promises her that he can make her feel better. Caroline has managed to find Tyler and the two have a long argument and decide to take some time from one another; Tyler says he'll return when he's ready.
At the Mikaelson Mansion, Kol wakes up. They've locked him in a room where all the furniture is nailed down and the windows nailed shut. The rest of the OG are discussing what they should do; Lynette suggests that she could try to locate another Potential as there are usually about five per active hunter. Elijah and Lynette say they'll head out to find the hunter and to keep in touch. Meanwhile, the MFG are back and are grieving over Jeremy. Bonnie is at home, alone, and mourning over both her dad and Jeremy, realizing that she is completely alone. 'Shane' comes and talks to her; she yells at him but he tells her that there is a way to bring them all back: Jeremy, her grams, her dad, everyone she lost. She asks what he means and he tells her to listen to 'her head'.
Jeremy has a nice, good funeral. Damon attempts to comfort Elena but she tells the Salvatore Brothers to just leave her alone for now. Caroline is back and lends a shoulder to Elena who refuses to see most people. Bonnie does not show up for the funeral. The rest of the OG bid Elijah and Lynette goodbye and then decide they need to put Kol out of his misery. Kol is meanwhile being haunted by Henrik and Finn who tell him to come join them. Jennel comes into the room and talks to him for awhile, telling him to go and sleep and also that his siblings would never hate him or want him to die. Kol however figures out what they're trying to do though he does not comment on it. After a while, they hear Klaus and Rebekah who enter. Kol is initially resistant against them but they have a sibling moment where they say that they won't leave him to rot (pretty much) nor leave him alone again. Eventually, he relaxes and they dagger him. Klaus moves Kol down to put him in a coffin so they can move him somewhere safe. Bonnie is at home where she's reading from a grimoire that doesn't belong to her regarding the Expression Pentacle. She studies a map that covers various locations of witch covens.
The MFG is still focused on comforting Elena and does not realise that Bonnie is missing or not participating in things. The voices in Bonnie's head are becoming louder and Shane has disappeared, the guiding figure becoming a shadow clouded in a hood that is covered in tattoos with burnt skin. The OG receives word from their scouting duo that they think they might be getting close and that they'll keep in touch. Tyler comes back to town, much to Caroline's relief but he appears to be different; he's much angrier. Tyler, against Caroline's protests, attempts to attack the OG but is easily thwarted by Klaus (near the mansion). Rebekah asks Jennel about Silas and she states they can't bring him to full power because the tombstone's with her and they've most likely failed already anyway (she was so preoccupied with Kol she did not realise that the spell had partially worked). Bonnie finds a witch coven whilst accompanied by the shadow (Silas). She asks him how he's going to bring them back to MF and he just smiles. The coven abruptly gets a communal headache and collapse to their knees. Bonnie steps out and they cry out to her. At first she hesitates but then Silas reminds her about her goal and she hardens again. He tells her she'll one day be as strong as he is before the coven faint.
Rebekah is still having her conversation with Jennel about the cure. She says that she thinks Rebekah is beautiful the way she is; she does not need to be human to be human if you will. She makes a comment that Klaus should learn to appreciate her more. Klaus and Tyler are still fighting when Caroline shows up (Klaus more taunting than fighting) yelling at them to stop. Neither listen. Caroline yells to them to be "the better man" when Klaus plunges his fist into Tyler's chest. Klaus makes a remark at Caroline that she should not assume that will always work. He yanks his hand out of Tyler's chest and says that the next time he sees Tyler, he'll kill him and "no one can stop him" (directed at Caroline). He then snaps Tyler's neck and vamp speeds away while Caroline rushes to his side. Bonnie (without anyone's knowledge), gathers the bunch of witches at a point in MF where she kills them. Silas continues to guide her, telling her to find the center of the triangle.
There is a large storm and the power goes out; the sky (from evening) becomes dark so much so that only the vamps can still see. Jennel and Rebekah rush outside and they see the darkness just as Klaus returns. Jennel is sceptical at first but then there is lightning hitting a specific spot in town and she curses. The two follow after her. Bonnie is casting the spell to drop the first veil (the Other Side), Silas standing next to her. The MFG minus Tyler and Elena appear and Caroline appeals to her friend to stop and asks what she's doing. Bonnie says she's bringing them all back (every Supernatural creature who's ever died). Damon immediately tries to stop her but Silas (using his mind) snaps his neck. The OG appears and Jennel immediately tries to stop them. Silas turns his attention towards her as if to attack her but then doesn't; he instead raises the ground up to block her advance. Bonnie completes the spell and collapses. Silas takes her and disappears. The storm stops but light does not return.
Part IV: Ghosts of the Past
The town is now completely lit using only electricity. Silas and Bonnie disappear, now with the goal of working on the second veil (i.e. requiring a second triangle from three massacres of humans) which will bring back every human that has died. (Silas' ultimate goal is to drop the third and final veil which will free the dead Expression practitioners who were trapped there – his real goal – and allows him to channel enough power to return to full strength). The MFG grab their injured and retreat to consider their options. The OG similarly also retreat. Back at the Gilbert residence, Alaric and Jeremy return: the dead were talking amongst themselves and they tell the others about the various veils and that Silas could very easily destroy the whole world if they allow him back into full power. Jeremy wants to find Bonnie and talk to her. Tyler agrees to stay and help. Meanwhile, the OG are also discussing on what they should do. Jennel tells them about what Silas 'told' her and admits to something: she was adopted into her hunter family; according to what she had found out, she had originally been born to whom was presumed a witch who had died during labour, leaving behind only her necklace which Jennel now carries. Kol already knows about this but since the two failed to find anything particularly interesting about her ancestry, had decided it was unimportant and was simply an unfortunate accident. Meanwhile, Tyler's hybrid pack – that Klaus killed – amongst others that the MFG and OG have killed respectively, return to aid Silas. The new triangle requires only three major human massacres to occur at the three points – making it significantly faster and easier in accomplishing. Lynette and Elijah return, having had successfully found and 'activated' a potential Hunter. Kol is undaggered. They all unanimously agree that they have to kill Bonnie and find a way to kill Silas.
With most of everyone distracted and still reeling from the events unfolding, Bonnie and Silas manage to complete two of the three required human massacres required for the second Expression Triangle. The OG and MFG meet and come to a truce. Jeremy manages to find Bonnie before she commits the third massacre but ultimately fails to convince her to stop. The second veil is dropped. Three clear sides form: the OG, the MFG, and Silas. Both the OG and MFG continually 'kill' people that Silas sends after them but no matter what they do, it is ultimately useless since they will all just keep coming back. Jeremy, later joined by Bonnie's father and grams, continues to try and convince Bonnie to stop – managing to make her rather conflicted – but Silas locks them all out. While everyone is continuously getting overwhelmed by the number of dead consistently coming after them, Lynette comes up with the idea to channel the power of the two already-formed Expression Triangles to force the ghosts to 'move on', thus removing them entirely. However, this would be incredibly dangerous to her and both Kol and Elijah very vehemently protest the idea, still insisting that if they just take out Silas, who is ultimately the thing keeping the veils down, then the ghost problem would fix itself. Lynette however decides that it is simply impossible for them to juggle finding a way to kill Silas, preventing the taking down of the third veil, and hold off all the ghosts at the same time. Going behind the others' backs, she attempts the spell.
Damon and Stefan, representing the MFG, meet with the OG to discuss whether they could all work together. Lynette performs the spell and it quickly proves too much for her to handle. However, the ghost of her brother and Esther, appear to help her. Even so, they only manage to half Silas' force. The OG and MFG decide to actively cooperate. Bonnie increasingly reluctantly works through the third triangle – which requires another three massacres of twelve, though species is now unimportant. With the two groups cooperating, they figure out that Silas should theoretically die if they drain him – similar to how he was first sealed – and then channel the Expression Pentacle against him to destroy the body. The group is however, extremely wary of this since a) it is theoretical, b) it would mean they need to allow the Pentacle to be complete, and c) they do not have anyone well versed enough in Expression to be able to pull it off. Arguments ensue but ultimately, since it is their only feasible idea, they decide to take the risk. Lynette works with her brother, Esther (who pops up whenever her children are not around), and Grams to come up with a spell that would be able to temporarily disable Expression and weaken Silas so that the vampires can drain him. Bonnie completes the third triangle and all the dead Expression Practitioners return.
Silas however, now equipped with a very strong force, attacks the group and a large number of them deliberately make themselves targets in order to protect Lynette, the other witches, as well as Klaus and Rebekah, who they have decided will be the best choice for taking down Silas. As a result, a large number of them are captured, severely damaging their fighting force. In response to this, Silas reveals that he wants Jennel, who they had not gone after, specifically, to take the tombstone to him or he will kill someone every hour. Lynette still needs a little time to perform and activate the spell they have come up with and Jennel believes she should go, especially because Kol was also one of the people caught. Klaus and Rebekah are against this since it is exponentially increasing the risk that Silas will gain full power whereas the remaining MFG think she should go if only to stall time. Despite the general arguing however, she ultimately leaves to go find Silas. Along the way, Alexia – as a ghost – shows up and asks her what she is doing since she knows very well that Silas could possibly want to kill her. Jennel dodges the question and instead she asks about the family after she left. They talk about old times for a while.
At the meeting point, the hostages are all held behind invisible walls made using Expression; Jennel hands the tombstone over to Silas who passes it to Bonnie. Silas finally reveals why he did what he did; back before he was first sealed in the tomb, he had been in love with a human woman despite having technically been with Qetsiyah. Without his knowledge at the time, he had had a child with said human. After Qetsiyah killed the human, she had bound the seal keeping Silas' power at bay onto the child out of spite. She also casted various spells onto a lapis lazuli stone which would cause any attempt that someone might have on the child's life to backfire and kill them, resurrecting the child (the necklace however, no longer works if the bind is turned into a vampire – this was an unexpected loophole since Qetsiyah could never have known that Esther would create vampires hundreds of years later). In addition to that, the bloodline was so that every new child born would be the new carrier of the bind, allowing it to carry on for all eternity; the child would also be made immune to Expression as a magic form. He reveals he had actually attempted to kill both Jennel and Kol back on the island using the magic he had at the time, but found it useless, allowing him to ID Jennel as the current bind since his Expression failed on her. Therefore, for Silas to reach full power, he needed to first kill Jennel himself and then have Bonnie channel the tombstone to activate the Expression Pentacle, which would as a side effect, keep all three veils down permanently. He also reveals that he had never wanted to die to reunite with his human lover in the first place – he had planned all along to revive her and live with her forever as he had wanted originally before Qetsiyah had intervened. Jennel, however, being one of the oldest non-Original vampires, would be easily able to overpower them since Expression is useless on her hence why Silas had worked to recruit hybrids, vampires, werewolves, and others, and why he had had to gather hostages. He tells Jennel to drink the cure so he can kill her and reasons that she would technically return as a ghost and that his plan really was not even all that catastrophic since the only real consequence was that fact that the dead now walked the earth. He reiterates that failure to comply would lead him to killing the hostages which would make them permanently dead if they ever do kill him. Jennel, clearly conflicted, sits next to the cage, dazed, and moves her hand in and out of it, proving that she is indeed, unaffected by Expression.
Kol, since he is one of the hostages and hence in said cage, comes over and sits next to her. Jennel states to him, softly enough that no one else can hear, that Lynette is almost done with the spell but she would not allow any of them to die. She also voices that the others would have noticed her absence by now and if she cuts it well enough, she could buy enough time for them to activate the spell and attack before the tombstone can be channelled to activate the Pentacle. Kol states that her idea is incredibly stupid but she retorts that that is the only way to incur as low a casualty count as possible and give as high a chance of beating Silas. Kol, instead of retorting, asks if she trusts him, to which she responds that she does. He says fine loud enough for the others to hear and then turns to hug her. Jennel complies, partially going into the cage to return the hug, but then Kol rips her necklace off and compels her to forget all of the Originals and to "run far far away as fast you can, wherever you want to go". She does and Kol quickly slips the necklace back into her pocket. Silas sends his hybrids/vampires/werewolves after her but she is predictably faster than all of them and easily escapes. Silas, incredibly incensed, attacks Kol with Expression, but he just laughs and states that if he kills him, it'll end up killing Jennel as well since his blood turned her and he needs to kill her himself.
Meanwhile, the spell is completed. The un-captured portions of the party, along with all the other dead that had yet to find peace appear as ghosts near the meeting point and prepare to fight. Lynette activates the spell, the walls holding the hostages captive disperse and Silas is momentarily crippled. A giant fight ensues during which Klaus and Rebekah manage to drain Silas. Jeremy and Rudy finally convince Bonnie that she has to let go; that while she may appear alone, that they would watch over her from the other side, and that all her friends still care about her and love her. They tell her to live her life for all of them instead of killing herself over the past. Bonnie finally finds closure and channels the tombstone and Expression Pentacle to destroy Silas once and for all. The third veil immediately crashes back down, with the first and second slowly following. The MFG and OG alike take the time to finally find closure on the people that they have lost over the years – Elena with her parents, Jenna, Jeremy; Bonnie with her Grams, Rudy, and later, Jeremy; Caroline with her dad; Lynette with her brother; Tyler with his mother; etc. Elena ultimately gets her hands on the cure but decides to destroy it, coming to the realisation that clinging onto the past is not going to help anyone. Instead, she decides to use her newfound strength as a vampire to protect the people she still has. The Originals decide to head to New Orleans along with Lynette to see if they can do anything about Marcel.
TIME JUMP: NEW ORLEANS 2011
The Originals have resettled into their old home, after furnishing it and have started taking over part of the city, having started a somewhat passive war with Marcel to overturn his rule. Lynette is now often with them and stays over sometimes though she does not live with them. It is quickly established that while the siblings have not gone back to being the best of friends or anything like that, they have come to the mutual understanding that they do indeed want to be closer as a family again. The topic then shifts to Kol who has apparently left the family though he promised to be back soon.
LOCATION JUMP: MONTANA
Jennel is currently almost a complete amnesiac. She, in a bid to remember her own past, has taken to attending random university lectures about mythology (vampires) and history. While leaving campus, she bumps into a familiar person who starts up a conversation with her. He comments that the necklace she is wearing is really interesting and then states he has not been back in town for a long time and whether she could help him out. She finds herself instinctively trusting him and agreeing, asking what he was in town for. Kol smiles and says he is "chasing shadows".
