So sorry about the wait, hopefully this makes up for it. Been so busy around the house and work it's not easy getting updates done.
Now this chapter answers how Lady Zabini got out, but she's not a problem anymore. It will be slightly short, because it's just a little update on the whole Gryffindor home adjusting to their lives with a new baby and others on the way. Expect a motherly Severus, of course, and some cuddles and fluff between all four partners.
Yeah a bit mushiness here, but hey not an issue right?
Written by myself and my sister author AnnaBoleyna1536, and we don't own Harry Potter.
Enjoy!
Two days later:
After a rather stressing time in St. Mungo's maternity ward, Severus and Delia were good to go home. Delia was healthy and Severus' body had recovered from the birth, and the whole family was eager to get them back to Gryffindor Hall. Harry had asked the others to go ahead so he could escort Severus and Delia himself, he knew Severus was looking forward to his own room again and to having Delia in her nursery.
"You ready?" Harry grabbed the bag with Severus' clothes he wore to the hospital plus some personal items of his, and Severus had Delia in his arms wrapped in a cute pink blanket Cho and Astoria made with her initials in the upper right corner. The girls wanted to make blankets for all the babies, and thanks to the magical thread the blankets would never wear out.
"Yes, we are." Severus was dressed in some comfortable robes, he had showered and his hair was cleaned with no oily mess; he was ready to leave.
"We'll use the floo, just make sure she doesn't breathe in any soot." Severus nodded and Harry led him to the floo area down below the floor. As soon as they set foot into the place the floo took them home, and they were greeted by the whole family.
"Welcome home!" the girls walked up kissing the men and baby Delia.
"How are you Severus?" Remus walked up to him.
"Good now that we're home, I need to sit." Severus took a spot on the couch and relaxed a little.
"Hey Severus…could you let me hold her a little? I mean you look a little exhausted so…" Sirius's cheeks flustered, he wasn't used to showing manners around Severus.
"Sure Black, but be careful she's sleeping." Severus carefully passed Delia to Sirius, and she moved a little but settled in his arms.
"You tired Severus?" Severus nodded at Harry. "Go upstairs and rest, we'll watch Delia. Draco?" Draco came over and helped Severus take his things.
"I have to admit the pregnancy looked good on Severus, a little weight made him look healthier." Harry laughed.
"We talked about that, I told him he should try and keep some of the weight but keep his figure intact. I don't want him turning into a Vernon Dursley on me." the very idea of Severus looking like Harry's bastard uncle made everyone shiver.
"She's so small." Sirius had tears in his eyes. "Reminds me of you Harry."
"She's the first little princess, and soon enough she'll have brothers and sisters to play with." Harry glanced at Cho and Draco coming back into the room. "You two are growing a bit." Cho's stomach had a slight bulge in it, and Draco's was bigger.
"Severus is sleeping, he says he'll be up in two hours."
"He needs it, his body is still recovering a bit but the healers all said he'll be fine in no time. He'll need all the sleep he can get, Delia might be a night owl for a while."
"As expected with newborns, until they get into a routine and adjust. We could all take turns…" Cho started but Harry held up a hand.
"No, you need to focus on work first but when you all come home Severus gets a break if he wants one. Also Cho you are still pregnant and so is Draco, while this will be good practice I don't want you to strain your health."
"Ow…" Harry looked at Draco, wincing and touching his back. "My back aches…I need a muscle relaxing draught."
"No, come here." Harry pulled out the big foot rest and Draco sat down on it. "See if this helps." he began to massage Draco's lower back.
"Ooh, yeah that helps." Draco moaned.
"Okay, Sirius give me the baby." Remus took Delia into his arms. "Just imagine, there'll be more to come real soon."
"I'd better load up on gifts then." Sirius laughed.
"Oh no, you aren't spoiling my kids until they are at least five. Speaking of which, Draco I asked Shoal to come around later today to check on you and Cho. I think we can learn what you're having now."
"Yeah, I should be far enough along." Draco stroked his belly. "Call me crazy, but I think I might already know."
"Oh? Don't tell me I want to wait." Harry kissed Draco's neck and finished up the massage.
"Thanks…so when is the healer coming?"
"In about an hour or two, so that's time for me and all of you with Delia." Harry watched as everyone began talking about a possible plan, one that would likely change around once the other babies arrived but for the time being they would take shifts in caring for Delia but no doubt Severus would be the only parent with a say, after all he birthed Delia.
"Ooh, I don't wanna let this one go." Harry took his daughter from Remus' arms and sat with her.
"You'll have more to share soon enough, for now we need to be sure Delia is happy because while we will have one crying baby we'll likely have two more on the way." one quick sit down and Harry felt so content with his baby girl.
"Harry, you know we'll help in any way." Remus and Sirius held hands.
"He knows, but Harry did you ever find out how that woman escaped?" Harry sighed, he knew that question would come up sooner or later.
"She stole someone's wand in the courtroom, planned on using it after a while but how she found out about Severus giving birth we aren't sure, but it's possible she followed us. She's going to be put in a black cell, no contact from anyone and she'll never get out."
"Eternal darkness, misery goes with it." Draco sighed. "Blaise suffers the same, he's gone from our lives."
"And so is Dumbledore, he's leaving London and going to stay with his brother. Figures everyone's had enough of him." everyone nodded in agreement.
"We've been getting press letters, the prophet wants a picture of Delia." Astoria rolled her eyes.
"It's too soon, and if we do let her be pictured it'll be in the Quibbler with Luna's article."
"Speaking of Luna, when are you going to go on your date with her?" Cho asked.
"It's a bit complicated, but Luna is willing to wait since we just had the baby. She said I can write to her, but she wants to make sure we have our responsibilities done first for Delia."
"Smart girl, strange…but smart." Sirius smirked. "Pretty too…"
"Sirius please don't start, let's just focus on the baby right now and the upcoming arrivals of the others."
"Definitely, so we'd best all prepare for some late nights. This little one's not going to be an easy child, but by the time the others are born, we'll all be prepared. Yes we will…" Harry just kissed Delia's tiny forehead and sighed. Now they just had to wait on the healer to come, and then they'd find out what Draco was expecting.
Two hours later:
"Alright…Consort Black everything seems alright, though you might want to eat a little more to maintain your weight." Shoal stopped by as promised, and while Harry let his godfathers and Astoria take Delia upstairs to her nursery and to check on Severus he stayed behind with Cho and Draco for the checkup.
"You're sure, I've been eating like I should."
"Yes but since your metabolism is very high you should keep a steady weight for yourself. You too Lady Gryffindor, though you might not need to eat as much."
"Thanks, now…Ms. Shoals could you please tell us what we're expecting this time around?"
"Well it might be too soon to tell for the Lady Gryffindor, but we can check regardless. Now Consort Black, relax for me this spell may have you tense a little." Draco took a breath and eased out, and Shoals waved her wand to cast the spell. "Let's see here…" the mist began to break apart, and it formed two bubbles…one pink, and one blue. "Oh my it's a double surprise…"
"What…does that mean…?" Draco stared at her.
"You're having twins Consort Black, a boy and a girl and both seem to be perfectly healthy." Draco looked ready to faint, so Harry got behind him and wrapped his arms around his waist carefully.
"Twins? Oh that's wonderful Draco!" Cho kissed his cheek.
"Twins…" Harry kissed behind his ear. "You are going to be eating for three now love."
"Yeah…I am."
"Your parents are going to be thrilled!"
"Cho…"
"Sorry Harry, but it's so fantastic." she giggled.
"It is, now let's look you over Lady Gryffindor." Shoal repeated the spell, and the misty ball formed, but had no color. "Hmm, too soon to tell the gender but the baby is healthy. Perhaps in a few more weeks we can check again."
"Thank you Healer Shoal, for everything." Harry shook her hand.
"It's my pleasure Lord Potter, now I have to get back I'm working a double today." she bid them good day and left through the floo. Draco sat down on the couch and sighed, he was having twin babies, not one but two…it's was so hard to believe, or perhaps not.
"I should let my parents know."
"Go on and floo them, I'm sure they'd like to know as soon as possible. I'm going to go check on Severus, Cho would you mind looking in on Delia?"
"You don't need to ask Harry." one quick kiss to both boys and she was out the room. Harry left as Draco started the floo, and made his way up to Severus' wing. Goldie the elf was coming out with an empty tray and a cup, she looked a little tired.
"Are you alright Goldie?"
"Fine master, just a bit sleepy; Master Severus be up, he be wanting to see little mistress."
"I'll go see him then, Goldie take the rest of the day off and get some sleep. Have one of the others take over for you." Goldie bowed.
"Goldie do as master commands." she continued down the corridor, and Harry knocked against the main doors to the wing.
"Severus?" he walked in and saw Severus emerge from the bedroom in his long black silk bathrobe. "You should be resting."
"I want to see Delia, I miss her." Harry took his hand.
"She's fine, but I want you to relax beforehand and then I'll bring her up alright?"
"Please? She's my baby I want to hold her." Severus being a new mom-wizard and everything, his hormones were still a bit wiry.
"I know, here let's go into your room and I'll send Musty to get her."
"Okay." Severus let Harry lead him back into the room and they sat on the bed.
"Did you sleep?"
"A little, but I kept waking up after one hour. I miss Delia." Harry ran a hand through Severus' black locks, tucking a strand behind his ear.
"I understand Sev, just remember we have to share her with the others. After all she's got three papas, two maybe soon three mummies and multiple grandparents. You are her birth-mother, but you will have more of your own in the future."
"I would like at least one more, giving my age and all."
"I asked Shoal about that, she said you would likely be able to have one more if not two. Your body is in great health, and your age…well if you turn fifty there may be a slim chance but you have over a decade."
"Perhaps, but I want my baby now." tears formed in Severus' eyes, this behavior stunned Harry a bit but it was expected with the hormones still around and maternal/paternal instinct.
"Hold on, Musty!" the elf appeared. "Please find Delia and have her brought in here, Severus wants her."
"Yes master." Musty disappeared instantly.
"Also, Draco is expecting twins, a boy and a girl." Severus' eyes widened a bit. "Shoal wants him to eat a little more, but he's otherwise alright. Cho too, but it's a bit soon to tell what she's having."
"Twins, is he happy?" Harry nodded. "Good, they'll all likely wind up in Hogwarts together."
"Indeed so love, but that's years away and we have all the time in the world together." Musty came back into the room, but she had Astoria with her who had Delia.
"Feeling better Severus?" Severus nodded as Astoria placed the baby in his arms. "You look rested."
"Thank you, where's everyone else?"
"Downstairs, talking about the two little ones we'll have soon. I have to go see Luna for a bit, something about a new article on dirigible plums and honey badger juice." Harry snickered. "I'll be back late maybe, but can you ask the elves to save me some dinner?"
"Sure thing, don't be out too late though." Harry got up and kissed her sweetly, and she kissed Severus and Delia before departing. "Hard to believe isn't it?" he turned to Severus, black eyes locked with green.
"What is?" Harry looked around.
"All this, me married to you, Draco, Cho, and Astoria with one baby already here, and three more on the way, no more death eaters out for blood, Voldemort dead, Dumbledore out of our lives, everything…it's almost too good to be true."
"I believe it is, but I won't waste a second on the past anymore. I did too much of that all these years, I don't want it to affect our children." he rocked Delia, and she cooed at him. "She's so small, so perfect."
"She is, and the others will be too. There's nothing we can't handle, all of us." Harry sat down and rubbed Severus' back. "Do you want her to sleep in here with you for a while?" Severus nodded.
"I want her close to me, even if she's next door I want her close for now."
"It's natural Severus, and it shows you'll be a good 'mother' to her. Speaking of which, do you need to nurse her?" Severus looked at Harry like he'd grown two heads. "I'm just joking Severus, you don't have tits so you can't nurse. I think she's due to feed though."
"Do you honestly think I would like having two aching, heavy sacs of milk on my body like a woman? I may have carried her, but I would rather cut my own hands off than look like a she-male." Harry laughed.
"If it's worth anything, I think you would look good with boobs but it may never happen. Now here…" Harry summoned a bottle of fresh formula, one that he'd had the elves put in the room earlier that day. He tapped it with his wand and it warmed up a bit. Severus took it and held the nipple to Delia's mouth; she took it immediately and suckled.
"She was hungry, I almost lost track of time." Harry knew Severus worried about being a poor parent, but the first child was always the toughest, and there was no such thing as a perfect parent. Harry's parents were good people but they weren't perfect, especially Molly and Arthur.
"Don't worry you'll be a good mother. Now do you want me to stay or should I…?" Severus shook his head.
"I want you to stay; you can burp her because I need to shower." Harry sighed and watched as Delia drank her formula and when finished she released the nipple. Severus wiped her mouth and handed her to Harry, luckily they had taken a small class in childcare on newborns at the hospital. Harry held Delia up carefully and began to pat her back. She burped easily, twice, and Severus just smiled.
"Go on and shower love, I'll watch her." Severus got up and grabbed his spare night robes. Once he left Harry stood up and walked around with Delia, her little eyes closed as she began to fall back asleep.
'I wish your grandparents could see you now.' he knew James and Lily were watching, but he still wished they'd had a chance to be here and know their first grandchild.
"You Delia are the luckiest child alive right now. You have me, you have your Papas Severus and Draco, and your mothers Astoria and Cho, and you will have everything I never did." she moved a little in his arms. "I will never let anyone hurt you or our family, I will protect you and your siblings with my life, and I will never let anyone make you feel unloved or unwanted like me."
Remembering his past with the Dursleys, Harry knew sooner or later he would encounter them along the way. For how they were doing, the last Harry heard Vernon retired and Dudley went off to college to advance in business like his dad but to something other than drills. Petunia…well Harry cared less for her either way but he wouldn't let his past affect his loves and children in any way.
"You will always be loved." he kissed her head. "Forever by me, and by your whole family."
"Harry." Severus came back freshly showered. "Are you alright?" Harry smiled.
"Yeah, just still getting used to the idea of me being a daddy." he rocked Delia again. Severus came over and sat down. "Dinner should be done in an hour, do you want to join the others?"
"Yes, I don't want to be cooped up in this room forever." they made it down to the den where everyone else was gathering, but Harry placed Delia in her bassinet to rest. She didn't need to be showed around like a new toy, she was a baby and babies needed a lot of sleep.
The family had dinner together, and then before Delia was taken upstairs with Severus they all agreed that a routine would be put in place for her. Severus would have her mostly during his paternity leave, but when everyone else got home they would have turns so he could rest and during the night Harry would be helping as best he could. Kingsley said he could work from home, so he'd be able to rest up if the nights got long.
Life was good, and Harry couldn't imagine it getting any better. Of course Luna would be in the picture he hoped, but the children came first. In a few weeks he would consider it, and Luna had agreed to wait but it was best to wait as long as necessary.
Well I hope you liked it, the most reviews came for Draco having twins so he's having twins. Cho, well I haven't decided on her yet but there's time for that later.
Time skip in the next chapter, talk about Harry and Luna's upcoming date, update on the Weasleys, and if I can, maybe a preview of the date at the end. Might be a while before the next one's up, but please bear with me.
