Wake-up call
"You can't give up, Yuri." Yuki grinned as she sat down next to him and linked their arms together. "Remember your people. Remember your allies. Remember your daughter. Aren't they worth fighting for?"
Yuri looked at her and then sighed. "But I'm not strong like you, Yuki. I've already lost."
"Now when did I say you were in this alone?" Yuki grinned. She stood and offered him a hand, waiting for him to take it. "Besides, I would have never been this strong if not for my friends, either. Come on. Let's fight together."
Yuri took her hand and then smiled as she pulled him up just like she'd done when they were kids, wrapping an arm around him as soon as he was on his feet. "You'll always be the stronger one, huh?"
"Yes, but you have something I don't." Yuki told him.
"And what is that?"
"You, dear brother, have a pair of balls that you need to use. Now, stop your damn sulking and help me beat this guy." Yuki grinned.
Yuri laughed openly, nodding. "Together, then."
They appeared in the living room where Shinou was. Though he was different, his face contorted into a more pointed look that made him look demonic and freaky. Morgif appeared in front of them and they both grabbed it with their inside hands, standing side by side.
"You've shouldered this burden for thousands of years already." Yuri sighed. "Yet you still plan to bear it alone right until they very end."
"Let it all return to nothing." Shinou stated in a monotone voice. "Let it all be destroyed."
"I also love this world. And everyone in it." Yuri stated. "But there's no way I'll sacrifice you, Shinou."
They both crouched for a charge. "I will defeat Soushou." They stated together. "I will defeat Soushou!" They yelled as they charged together, both holding the sword together.
The second they cut through Shinou, Yuri found himself back in his body. He stood in front of everyone and slowly managed to stumble himself over to where his sister was lying on the ground.
"When will you stop getting yourself hurt, sis?" Yuri sighed as he fell flat on his ass, putting a hand over her chest to amplify the healing process. Another hand, this one a ghostly transparent one, also added to the pile of healing hands.
"Glad to have you back, you stupid pain in my ass." Yuki grinned, looking up at the ghost.
"Such a rude girl you are." Shinou chuckled. "But, I suppose I had it coming. I've caused you nothing but grief, haven't I?"
"Trust me, you're not the only one." Yuki grinned as she slowly got to her feet with the help of Adlabert. "And I swear, if you ever fuck with my brother again, I'll be looking up ways to torture a spirit."
He visibly shuddered and disappeared, reappearing behind Ken. "My Great Sage shall protect me."
"Not from her. You're on your own." Ken laughed. Then he sighed, smiling. "But that's all over now. The Great Sage's memories can disappear with me."
"I have a feeling that, if I'm reborn, I'll be seeing you again." Shinou grinned.
"I think I've had enough of babysitting you." Ken grinned. "But… it'll be nice if we meet again."
Shinou chuckled and slowly faded into nothing, disappearing for good.
"Well now, looks like that's settled." A new voice chirped from behind them.
"Leave it to Roger to ruin a moment." Garp huffed. He took a swing, blinked, and then tried repeatedly to land a punch on the dead Pirate King. "Damn it, why isn't it working? Die, you dead bastard, DIE!"
"Time for you to go, huh?" Yuri sighed, looking at his sister who still seemed wounded despite her overly-high pain tolerance. "Will you be back?"
Roger, completely ignoring the marine trying to hit his ghostly body, walked up. "You see, kiddo, because of my current state this is just about all I can do these days. So, yeah, I don't mind. She can come back."
"It's time for us to go, too." Ken stated, a black and white swirling portal behind him. "For the last time."
"The last… what?" Yuri squeaked. "But…"
Yuki instantly saw the implications of that, feeling a piece of her heart crack at the thought. "The one that manned the portals between here and Earth was Shinou. And with him gone…" She mumbled.
"This is the last portal." Ken nodded. "So the choice is yours, Yuri. Earth or Shin Makoku."
"But…" Yuri wanted to argue.
"Go, Yuri." Wolfram shouted. He sighed, trying his hardest to keep his selfish side in the back of his mind and NOT say the opposite. "Your parents are on Earth. They'll be upset if you don't come back. Heartbroken. My fiancé would never be so heartless."
"Yuri, the choice is yours. Mom and Dad will understand." Shori stated.
"I really do love Shin Makoku…" Yuri mumbled. "At first, I was worried that I wouldn't be a good Maou, that I couldn't do it…"
"Leave the country to us." Gwendal told him.
"Majesty, I am proud to have been able to serve you." Gunter stated solidly.
"Goodbye, King Yuri. Goodbye, Great Sage." Ulrike stated sadly.
"Even though it was only for a short while, thanks for looking after us, Ulrike." Ken thanked her with a smile.
"No matter how far away you are, I will always be watching over you." Conrad told Yuri. "Both of you." He added, glancing to Yuki. "Now and forever."
Yuki sighed, leaning her head against Adlabert. "Tell Mom and Dad I'm sorry. But I've got people back home that need me more than they do."
Yuri nodded but didn't lift his head, his bangs covering any tears that may have come to his eyes. "Now." He nodded, turning on his heel. "Goodbye, everyone."
"Take care of him, Shori." Yuki called to her eldest brother.
"Leave it to me." Shori responded just before they all disappeared.
Yuki got out of Adlabert's grip and walked over to Wolfram, who by that point had tears pouring from his eyes. She wrapped her arms around the blond, whispering something in his ear that no one heard. When Wolfram's tears were dry, he nodded and she released him, walking back to where her group was… with one added member.
"Adlabert, I'm counting on you." Conrad stated sternly, looking the older man in the eye.
"Yeah, I've got her." Adlabert stated solidly, wrapping an arm around Yuki as a slightly red-tinged portal appeared behind them. "I'll leave Shin Makaku to you."
Yuki resisted the urge to argue that her adopted world was far too dangerous for him, deciding to just follow what her heart wanted. Without her consent, her arm went up and grasped his. "Don't worry about us. We'll be back to visit sometime."
She felt herself being pulled backwards and allowed herself to merely hold onto Adlabert for support. She couldn't help but smile as she recognized the pond they'd appeared in. Adlabert saw her smile and instantly matched it, tightening his grip around her as he swam for them both. Even if his decision was to leave having it be permanent, he doubted he'd regret it in the slightest.
He'd spend the rest of his life ensuring that smile appeared as much as possible.
Done, but maybe a sequel. There is a second season to KKM, after all. I haven't watched much of it, but maybe later. Review and tell me if you really want more. :D
