(A/N: Final chapter! BTW, the idea for this epilogue was given to me by Brainstormandthethinker. I hope everyone has enjoyed reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it. :3)

Epilogue

(Everyone's P.O.V.)

Carrie couldn't help but chuckle as she watched a curious (and invisible) Amineko stroke the seats of the airplane. Today was the first day of their trip to Japan. More specifically, Hiroshima. It was now 1995. Carrie White was 36 years old, and was on a break from her shop as a clothing designer. In the seat beside Carrie was Sue, who was 37. The trio had been planning the trip for quite some time. Amineko needed the most convincing, though. Since her death in 1945, she hadn't stepped foot in Japan. But it was 50 years later; Hiroshima had to look better now, right?

Amineko didn't have identification, of course. So she snuck onto the plane to experience such a thing. It was like watching a kid in a candy store. But Carrie and Sue couldn't be too amused; people would think they were laughing at thin air.

"Welcome home," said Sue to Amineko as they stepped off the plane. Amineko was dead silent. She looked around, not recognizing her home.

"This is Hiroshima?" she asked softly.

"Mmm-hmm," Carrie murmured, looking at the woman. "Everything looks a lot better now."

"It...it does look better..." whispered the Asian. "How long has it been? What shall we do now?"

"Whatever you want," Carrie replied. "You know this place better than us, even if it does look a little different from before."

"I'm curious to see if...no, he couldn't be...still...maybe...?"

Suddenly Amineko took the hands of the other women.

"This looks pretty close to my brother's house..." Amineko said as she stared up at a home. Her hand touched her chest gingerly. "My home..."

Carrie gently touched Amineko's shoulder.

"Ami..." she said in a tender voice. "You should see if he's home."

"How could he be alive? He's sure to be dead just like me. I can't."

"If he were dead, then he would've found you after all these years," Sue pointed out. "He has to be alive. Trust us, Ami."

Amineko took a breath, before reaching up, and knocking on the door. Moments passed as they waited, before the door opened. Standing at the door was a teenaged girl, who looked up at the trio with confusion. But when her eyes fell on Amineko, she stared, and stared. Then her eyes widened. Rushing off deeper into the house, the girl returned, walking with an elderly man. His face was wrinkled, and his hair was grey and silver. His squinted eyes looked at Amineko, taking her in for a moment.

"Amineko-chan?" he finally said.

Amineko could hardly breathe.

"Akio-sama..." she whispered, her hand touching the elderly man's cheek.

"How?" murmured Akio. "You...You died...You can't be here."

"I can explain everything, if you're willing to believe it," said Amineko, a tender smile on her face.

Akio nodded slowly, allowing them to enter his home.

Amineko watched as Carrie and Sue sipped warm tea. She looked around. The house looked different. It was most likely destroyed in the blast, but rebuilt. And then the modern age struck. She had been thinking for a while as the others talked. Since telling the story of what happened after Amineko died, the woman had done nothing but thinking. So much was on her mind. Running back the story she had told again in her head, Amineko found one point interesting: the way she had met Carrie. Carrie was a lonely girl, rejected by society...sort of like when Amineko was a young girl...Then Amineko thought to before her death. She had recently found out that she was barren. Carrie White was like the child she had always wanted. But then, Amineko had a realization: she had been so selfish. Carrie wasn't the only one of her kind in the world. There were others, some probably trying to survive in this new Hiroshima right now. Amineko knew what had to be done.

"Carrie, Sue," Amineko said.

The pair glanced at her.

"You ok?" asked Sue. "You've been awfully quiet."

"Are you enjoying yourself?" asked Carrie.

"I'm ok," Amineko replied. "And yes, it is nice to return home after so long, and meeting my brother again was so refreshing. But...I've been thinking. Carrie...I love you. I love you and Sue, and I always will. You two are so much like my children, and had you been my actual children, my life would be perfect. But...there are more people out there who are harassed and hurting. There are more Carries...more Sues...and a lot more people like Chris. I...I feel I should help them too."

There was silence. Amineko bit her lip, looking to the ground. Sue looked to Carrie. She was the one who'd be most affected by this. Carrie crawled over to Amineko, her hand touching her cheek. The two looked into each other's eyes, before pulling each other into a hug.

"You've grown so much, Carrie," Amineko whimpered. "I loved spending all these years with you. But I want to help others too. I feel so selfish keeping my power from others."

"I know," Carrie cooed. "I'm a grown woman now. I'm in a better place now in Florida. You don't have to worry about me."

"I won't be gone for long, I promise. I will check in every chance I get."

Carrie cut Amineko's whimpering off by kissing her cheek. She was fine with whatever wish Amineko had. All the years Amineko spent caring for her, doing everything in her power to love and protect her, Amineko deserved to do as she pleased. But it hurt as well...Carrie loved Amineko too...

Amineko had waited until after the trip to leave for her new journey. After a tear-filled goodbye, Amineko flew away to help new people. But she wouldn't forget her Carrie-chan, and Carrie would never forget the Ghost of Hiroshima.
