Don't Go

Lucy opened her eye's slowly. When they were finally open, she took in a sharp breath, sitting up immediately. She scanned the area around her taking in the disastrous scene. Gray and Erza were unconscious but looked relatively fine. Lucy's gazed stopped when she spotted a certain pink haired dragon slayer a few feet away. Lucy was able to pick herself up and stumbled over to where Natsu was. He was all covered in blood both his and the now defeated dark wizard, Merikh.

"Natsu!" She gasped. He was still out cold, but still alive. Lucy could see his shallow breaths. She knelt down beside him and pulled him into her lap.

"Natsu, wake up. Natsu?" Tears of worry started to come down her cheeks.

"Natsu?" She shut her eyes to keep the tears back, Natsu manged to open his only to see the tears staining her pretty face

"Why are you crying Luce? Ya know I don't like to see you cry." He said weakly and lifted a hand to brush away her tears.

" Everything is going to be-" Natsu winced in pain. "… Shhh, it's going to be fine, okay Lucy."

"You promise?" She sniffled

"Yeah, I promise." He gave her a small smile.

"Hey Lucy."

"Yes natsu?"

"I love you." Lucy looked into his eyes and they showed sincerity, even though they were somewhat cloudy and distant.

"I love you too, baka." She heard him give a small chuckle.

"I know." Natsu's hand cupped her cheek gently, pulling her head towards his and gave her a soft kiss on the lips, which Lucy returned.

"Don't worry Luce, your strong." He whispered softly in her ear. Natsu's voice was cracking and raspy. He took a ragged breath before muttering "Lucy" one last time. Natsu closed his eyes and Lucy felt all his muscles relax, making his body go slack.

"Natsu!" Lucy cried desperately

"Natsu wake up! Please!"

"Natsu Dragneel, open your eyes right now!... please…." Lucy was sobbing beyond control.

"Please Natsu, please…. Please don't leave me alone!"

"Natsu! Oh Natsu, don't go."

That was one year ago. Lucy was if front of Natsu's grave. She came with everyone earlier, but now she was the only one left. The sun was setting when she read the inscription for the hundretf time that day.

Natsu Dragneel

A special Nakama

To us all and

Will always be in

Our hearts

Lucy pulled the flowers that she was holding closer to her chest. There were tears threatening to overflow. She took a shaky breath.

"Oh Natsu, when you died, the fire in my heart died as well." She sighed. A gentle summer breeze bushed past her. Lucy looked up, she could've sworn she heard something.

"Jeez Luce, did you forget already? I'll always be with you no matter what."It was soft as a whisper, blowing along with the wind.

"Baka, I would never forget that." Lucy imagined him giving a small chuckle. She smiled sadly, laid the flowers on top of Natsu's grave and walk home lost in bitter-sweet memories.

The End

I hate myself right now. I seriously can't believe I wrote this. Sure I read deathfics and stuff but I never thought that I would right them. In fact, I told myself I would never ever write one of these….. well I guess that got thrown out of a tenth story window. I blame my inspiration.
