On the desolate desert landscape of planet Namek...
Prince Vegeta smirked evilly as he rained blow after blow on the already injured figure of Captain Ginyu.
'Perhaps he's not as powerful as I originally assumed' the flame-haired Saiyan mused.
The leader of the Ginyu Force seemed to willingly accept the abuse he suffered. A demented grin spread over the face of the purple-skinned being.
Krillin and Gohan observed and wondered what the outcome of this bizzare conflict would be.
A horrified Goku could only watch the two combatants. He was in no condition to interfere. The Earth-raised Saiyan knew exactly what the captain of Frieza's elite team was planning to do.
"Vegeta! He WANTS you to injure him as much as possible! Don't fall for it!" Goku warned.
His plea fell on deaf ears as Vegeta struck Ginyu again and again with no real retaliation coming from the Ice-Jin's officer.
"Is this really all you can manage, Vegeta?" Ginyu taunted.
"I'M JUST GETTING STARTED!" the Saiyan royal shouted as he flung the hapless captain into the sky.
Captain Ginyu floated just above the planet's surface. His laughter rang out as he challenged the once-heir to planet Vegeta-sei.
"Come on, show me what you can do, you stupid ape! COME AND GET ME!"
"I'LL SHOW YOU THE TRUE POWER OF THE PRINCE OF ALL SAIYANS!" Vegeta roared as he began his ascent to confront Ginyu.
"VEGETA, NO! DON'T DO IT!"Goku cried out.
The enraged Saiyan had no intention of stopping his attack...
A brilliant yellow light spread about Captain Ginyu. Vegeta saw a beam of the strange light streak towards him.
"CHANGE NOW!" Ginyu bellowed.
In a desperate attempt to prevent Ginyu's transformation, Goku flailed out his right hand and tried to grab a small frog-like creature that hopped near him. His eyes widened in horror as his fingers closed on nothing but air…

Vegeta suddenly fell from the sky and crashed into the hard surface of planet Namek. Intense pain shot through him. He looked up to see where Ginyu had gotten off to.
The prince of all Saiyans gaped in absolute shock as he gazed upon his own image!
'What the Hell is this? NO! NO! That purple freak has…'
His train of thought ended as Ginyu convulsed with laughter.
"YOU FOOL! I planned this all along! Now you're stuck with my injured body and I HAVE ALL YOUR POWER AND STRENGTH!" Captain Ginyu crowed.
Goku groaned in despair. How were they going to defeat Ginyu now?
Gohan and Krillin were too stunned to even move.
Vegeta stared at his blood soaked hands. Purple-skinned hands!
"Is this what I've fought for all these years? To die in the form of a purple monstrosity?'
A roar of anguish and outrage tore from the Saiyan's throat.
"I'll be back soon to put your worthless hides out of your misery but first I'm going to show Lord Frieza what I've managed to accomplish. I'm sure he'll be pleased! Don't worry, I won't leave the brats on their own…I'LL EXTERMINATE THEM TOO!"
Vegeta could only watch helplessly as his previous form flew away…..

At Frieza's ship.
The lizard-tyrant stared before him in absolute disbelief. He was fully aware of the extent of Vegeta's arrogance but this?
"Lord Frieza, I…"
"Really Vegeta? After all you have done, do you actually believe that you could just waltz in here and I would welcome you back with open arms?" Frieza snarled.
"N-NO! Lord Frieza, you don't understand…I'm really…."
The Saiyan prince's doppleganger was incinerated by a blast from the furious Ice-Jin.
"Ah, I SHOULD have done that years ago! Now what the devil is taking Captain Ginyu so long?"….
