"So," Siddeley plopped himself on the ground next to Lightning, "You and Finn, eh?"

He watched as the racer forcefully made himself seem relaxed. Lightning, Finn, and Mater had been running around chasing fireflies, but lightning had sat down for a short breather when Siddeley ambushed him. He swallowed thickly, and reasoning that Siddeley couldn't possibly know who he was. "Haha no way..." He scratched awkwardly at the back of his head, "We're just friends! Honest."

Siddeley wasn't a fool, and he sure as hell wasn't oblivious. He had seen the way they had bonded- how quick it was. Finn trusted him immediately, which he had never done before. He defended lightning whenever anyone remarked negatively about him, hell! He even spent more time with him than he did with his team! Siddeley cared very much for Finn, they were best friends, so obviously he could see his friend was in love. "Okay, you're just friends." he agrees with a sly smile at Lightning, "I believe you."

Lightning shifted his weight a little, a smile spread across his features as he watched Finn leap up and snatch a firefly right out of the sky. His eyes softened when Finn carefully showed off his catch to Mater. Siddeley knew then that Lightning loved Finn too. No matter how much he denied it, the way Lightning jumped back up into the fun when Finn called was enough justification Siddeley needed.

"Y'know..." Flo started off nonchalantly, "Sally's been looking at other guys..." She refilled Lightning'c cup of coffee.

Lightning glanced up at her and sipped at his new cup, "Good for her." He answered unsure. He was happy she was moving on, but puzzled at why Flo had brought it up. It had been three months since their separation. They had been back on speaking terms within a few weeks, and now nothing was really weird between them at all.

Flo picked at her nails a little, not looking at him. "I see you've been looking at other guys too."

In his shock, Lightning accidentally inhaled the sip of coffee he had in him mouth instead of swallowing, and began to cough. After seemingly hacking up his lungs, he stared wide eyed at Flo. "What- What are you talking about?" He ignored all the odd looks glanced his way. Suddenly, Finn appeared with a joking look on his face.

"I'd rather enjoy if you didn't choke to death." He said easily, smiling at the younger man.

Lightning grinned at the spy, "Well, you'll just have to learn the Heimlich, won't you?" he teased.

Finn laughed, before ruffling his hair and departing. Flo had one eyebrow raised and Lightning face quickly flushed red. "That," She says, pointing in the direction Finn had left, "Is what i'm talking about." Lightning stared a little wistfully at where Finn had left before sighing heavily.

"Listen Flo- Him and I aren't a good idea. I've been with someone eerily similar to Finn" The person he was referring to was, of course, a younger Finn, "And it didn't turn out well. Sorry to disappoint."

"Honey," She said patiently, "You obviously have feelings for him, and this other person was in the past! You're a different person now." She reasoned.

He doesn't reply, but instead takes a long drink from his Coffee and, with a small smile, leaves. Finn is waiting outside, with a mischievous smile. "So how'd she like that? Was it enough of a show?" he said as he walked up beside him.

Lightning shoved Finn playfully and crossed his arms over exaggeratedly, "People keep trying to get us together! And you are not helping." he huffs.

Finn shrugged before taking his side by Lightning again, "Don't listen to them." He says simply, like it's the answer to everything. Lightning opens his mouth to say something, but Finn phone rings and he steps away to take it.

"Hello, is the agent Finn McMissile? It has come to our attention that you were once involved with project K with the traitor Luxhesion?" her static voice came through the phone, and cold dread settled in Finn stomach.

"Yes." He affirmed slowly.

"We are regretful to say that four days ago, Luxhesion escaped from maximum confinement and it is imperative you return-" Finn didn't hear the rest f her words as he let the phone drop out of his hand. He hears lightning let out an audible gasp behind him, and he doesn't even need to look to know who it is.

Luxhesion always had impeccable timing.

I Have seriously been neglecting my stories, sorry guys. IDK if any of my other stories are going to be updated. I've lost a ton of my motivation since school started back up. I do want to keep writing them, but chapter are probably going to be few and far between, i'm sorry.
