Epilogue (well, sort of)

Once upon a time, there was a young and beautiful princess who was in love with her best friend.

But her best friend didn't love her back. Her friend loved someone else.

So the princess tried to forget about her feelings.

But, she couldn't.

Because she couldn't forget those feelings, and she couldn't do anything about them, the princess chose to put a mask on herself and lie. She chose to close her heart, and decided she'd have to do without love.

And for some time, it was okay.

But eventually, things got messy.

Because there's only a certain amount of time a heart can stay closed.

There's only a certain amount of time a person can live on lies.

So eventually her mask cracked, and the princess did stupid things. Things that led her to hurt herself.

Things that led her to lose her friend.

(Or at least that's what she thought.)

Everything seemed lost, when, in the most unexpected moment… she found him.

She never asked for a prince to come and save her. But he did anyway.

He fought the dragons inside her to get to her. He slayed them, one by one, and broke down the walls of thorns that enclosed her heart. And then, she was free.

Finally, she could love again.

They should have lived happily ever after, but this wasn't really the end of the story. No, it was just the beginning.

Because everybody knows every fairytale must have a witch.

And because sometimes, despite it may look otherwise, it's the prince, and not the princess, the one who needs saving.

But that… is a whole other story.

Author's notes:

Hello to all my dear readers once again! More than three months have passed since I submitted the final chapter of this story, and I'm pleased to tell you that all that time I've been working on its continuation. Yeap, I couldn't help myself, once an idea begins to root in my mind… you know how it goes.

So I uploaded this (sort of) epilogue, as a way to let you know this, and as an introduction to the second part of this story, which I will not post into this one because, even if it's a sequel, it really is a whole new story on its own right.

You can find the link for that story in my profile. It's called "One life". If you enjoyed this one, I hope you will give it a shot! (although if you read this some time ago, I recommend re-reading it first, or at least the last chapter, so you remember what it was all about, because it picks up exactly where this ended!)

Cheers to you all, and (hopefully) see you in my new story!
