Please don't get used to regular updates, I'm still horrible at them.
On another note, don't be too harsh on Hannah, all will be explained soon enough.
Disclaimer: Obviously the Harry Potter series has been completed. Do you really think I had anything to do with that? Didn't think so.
The rest of the week was filled with lessons for Harry, some of which Hermione joined in the library. As it had turned out, neither of them were admitted to the extra class for Muggleborn and Muggle-raised students, while according to Ernie, Justin had been admitted and had gained some valuable knowledge from the class. The Ravenclaw in Hermione was furious and looked ready to commit murder at this point. She'd get away with it too, Harry mused. The more he learned, the more he wondered if it was a mistake or if it was Dumbledore's plan to keep them uneducated from the start. During a rare show of friendliness, Draco had admitted that the only reason most Purebloods couldn't stand Muggleborns, was because they intruded in their community and didn't learn their customs, but rather expected the wizards and witches to learn theirs.
Harry somewhat understood now. He wouldn't want somebody to take control of his life and expect him to obey them. That would be like being dismissed in your own office, which was plain rude according to Uncle Vernon. This notion seemed to be universal, as even Draco Malfoy had to agree with the Muggle.
At the moment, Harry was once again buried in one of the books written in parseltongue. Hermione had suggested he take notes, as if he were studying and he had to begrudgingly admit that even Snape was forced to give him a good grade on his theoretical essays. Of course that might also be because he was no longer a Gryffindor.
"Hey Harry." Ernie said, bringing him out of his musings as Ernie sat down across from him with a rather large pile of parchment and books.
"Hey Ernie." He smiled in greeting, trying to focus back on his book. He had already finished the defense spells book, but he had found another one a day before that mentioned the history of the school. He had the theory that this particular one was written by Salazar Slytherin himself. As Ernie began to write one of the essays for DADA, Harry debated whether he should ask about his relationship with Justin. It seemed as if Justin had the impression that Ernie and he were romantically involved, and he wanted to ask Ernie if he should just let it be or correct Justin. After all, if Ernie somehow made it seem like that so that Justin would leave him be, he didn't want to ruin it.
"Can I ask you something?" he asked with that last thought in mind.
"You just did, but go on." Ernie replied, a teasing expression on his face. Harry barely stopped himself from rolling his eyes.
"Justin talked to me the other day…" Ernie's eyes widened at that in surprise but he stayed silent.
"Well, he seemed to believe that we were romantically involved and rather down about it. He said how he wouldn't get in between us and asked for my permission to still talk to you as he didn't want to lose you as a friend. I didn't really know what to say to be honest. What I'm asking is, did you want me to pretend we are involved or do you want me to clear it up?" As Harry finished, he noticed that his friend had gone incredibly pale.
"Um...I…I'm not sure." He mumbled after a while, resting his forehead on the table.
"I don't really know what went on between you two, but I am here if you need my help. But personally, I think you should go talk to him and clear up any misunderstandings. My only relationship so far crashed when she thought I was in love with Hermione, and I never bothered to clear that up. Now we don't even talk to each other anymore." He said, watching Ernie's reaction to his words. He was pleasantly surprised at the determined expression on his face. Ernie stood up and walked out, forgetting his stuff and making his way to the Hufflepuff common room. Harry grinned, maybe things weren't so bad after all.
Ron Weasley hated Slytherin. Slytherins were cold-hearted, murderers and liars. Slytherins were Death Eaters. At least that's what he had believed for so long. He thought he knew Harry, but now he was in Slytherin proving once more that he was a manipulative git that rode on his fame and money. He also stole Hermione. Another one stole his sister and took advantage of her. Now it was only Dean and he that were left in the dorm. And Dean couldn't be trusted, his best friend was a snake and they still hung around each other every given minute. Ron was on his own. What should he do? What could he do? In the past he had noticed Harry's arrogance, which was why he had ignored him for periods of time. Not to forget the fact that the git had so much money he wasn't using, rubbing it in his nose how poor his own family was.
"He must have hexed me the few times I forgave him. As sudden as I changed my mind, that only makes sense…I should ask Hermione. But she's on his side….damn." he mumbled. At that moment, Dean stormed into the dorm.
"Ron, do you know where I put my potions book? I have my essay inside and Shay needs help with his."
"No, even if I would I wouldn't tell you. The snake should crawl in that other snake's bed, maybe that'll help him." In Ron's mind, his shiny black eye was confirmation that his dorm mate should be a snake too.
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was a man of great mind. He had planned ahead several years and now all his plans were crumbling apart. First the school board, under the leadership of Lucius Malfoy, had forced him to hire an extra teacher for potions, then the ministry had forced another DADA professor into Hogwarts, and then the ministry had the gall to move people to different houses. It had taken many spells to put the Potter boy in Gryffindor, and now his plans were ruined.
The Weasley boy was ignoring his friend due to Dumbledore's potions causing him to hate the Slytherin house when he first entered the school. He had hoped this would influence Potter to hate the house as well, but now that seemed useless. This was a disaster, and now the Slytherins were teaching Potter their customs. How would he regain control?
"Ah Remus, I am glad you could make it." He said as the green fire vanished around the werewolf.
Not aware of his favorite werewolf being in the castle, Harry was beginning to get worried. He hadn't seen Ernie in hours and dinner was almost over. He looked around the hall again, watching as Justin Finch-Fletchley sat down with the Hufflepuffs. Still no Ernie in sight. And Dumbledore wasn't there either, which wasn't unusual but Harry felt a sense of dread at the sight of the empty chair anyway. Something was wrong, he could feel it in his very soul.
Something compelled him to stare at Hannah Abbott as she sat down with Justin, though he seemed to be sad. Hannah kissed him, causing Harry to stare on in confusion. At the same time, Neville abruptly stood up from across Hannah and rushed out of the Hall. Choosing to look after his friend, Harry stood up and followed him. Only Blaise Zabini saw what happened after they had left, and followed a group of Hufflepuff students once dinner had ended.
"Neville!" Harry rushed after the Longbottom heir (unaware of the commotion that would soon follow near the kitchens), meeting him at the top of the stairs.
"Are you alright?" he asked once he got Neville to stop, concerned about the tears running down his face. Neville simply shook his head and buried his face in Harry's shoulder. Harry started to rub Neville's back, unsure how to comfort his brunet friend.
"I thought…I thought…she was different. I told her how I felt about her….she told me she felt the same Harry! She kissed me and promised me that we would be together…" Neville sobbed, slowly soaking Harry's robes.
"Come on Neville, I'll take you to our common room." Neville nodded though he seemed confused as to why he was being invited to the Slytherins, but followed Harry anyway. Harry had his arm around Neville's shoulders, leading him to the snake lair while trying to offer silent comfort. He wasn't very adept at comforting others, but this was Neville and he deserved that Harry at least try.
Hissing the password in parseltongue, as he had thought that the password translated into the serpent language would be useful in the presence of others to conceal the actual password (it being the house of the snakes it was obvious how it worked), he lead Neville through the common room, skillfully ignoring the incredulous looks of Draco and the rather amused one of Theo. Once he reached his dorm, he let them both in. Ernie looked up at the sound of the door, red eyes staring at Neville in confusion. Looking at Ernie's eyes confirmed Harry's theory.
"I think you two have something in common. Neville, is it okay if I tell him what happened?" at Neville's nod he continued, "So apparently Neville and Hannah Abbott are in a relationship-" Ernie sat straight up, looking incredibly angry and confused, "-but at dinner, she started snogging Justin in front of him. By the look on your face you're not surprised….what happened after you left the library?" Harry couldn't help but ask. All the anger seemed to leave Ernie at once, and he fell back onto his bed. Harry and Neville had settled on the bed as well, as standing around it had been somewhat awkward. After a few moments of uncomfortable silence, a sigh left Ernie's lungs. (Again none of them knew of the ruckus being caused by the kitchens in their defense, Blaise having way more fun than he should have.)
"I walked towards the Hufflepuff common room to talk to Justin and clear things up. I ran into him a bit before I reached the common room, which was good because I had absolutely no plan on how to get in anyway."
"Justin! I wanted to talk to you."
"Ernie what are you doing here?" the boys had said at the same time, making it hard to understand who had said what.
"I wanted to talk to you." Ernie repeated almost shyly, nervous now that he was in front of Justin.
"Oh, ok."
"Harry told me that you talked to him the other day, and I just wanted to clear some things up. Harry and I are-"
"I already told him I wouldn't get between you two." Justin interrupted, his face unreadable. But he couldn't fool Ernie, he had already seen the pain flicker in the other's eyes.
"Would you let me finish damn it! Harry and I are NOT together! I may be a Slytherin now, but I think you should know me better than to assume I would betray you like that!" his temper had caught up with him at last, and he could feel his eyes starting to tear up though he refused to show any kind of weakness. Justin stared at him stunned. Before Ernie could react, Justin crashed into him, hugging him so hard he could almost feel his ribs groan under the pressure.
"I'm so sorry Ernie! I just…. I thought I lost you. I didn't know how to talk to you and then I saw you being close to Harry all of a sudden and then Hannah said she saw you kissing and I felt betrayed and I'm so sorry I didn't trust you…" at this point Justin was sobbing into Ernie's robes, but Ernie couldn't care less. He was in Justin's arms again and he felt warm and safe.
"What do you mean she said she saw us kissing?!" Justin withdrew from the bone crushing hug, face blotchy and pale.
"She just said how you seemed different, that she seen you snogging by the lake and that wasn't like you at all." Justin explained, seeming pained just at the thought of it. He had wiped the tears from under his eyes, some color returning to his pale face. At the image in his head, he reburied his face in Ernie's shoulder.
"I'm so sorry Justin. I should have talked to you sooner to avoid misunderstandings. And the fact that Hannah didn't even know about us must've made it worse. I'm sorry, I really am. I hope you know now that I would never do that to you, I would never break my promise to you." Ernie had said, tightening his arms around his best friend and lover.
"Don't be mad at me please." Waiting until he felt Ernie's nod, Justin continued nervously.
"Um…you know how I felt and still fell about you, but the other day after I talked to Harry, Hannah came up to me and asked me out." He refused to let go once he felt Ernie stiffen, trying to make him see that Justin still loved him though he had never said it aloud.
"What…what happened then?" Ernie asked, trying to keep any emotion out of his voice. He felt Justin hesitating, his breath warm against Ernie's throat.
"I wasn't even thinking, Harry didn't say anything that proved me wrong and I was sad so I didn't even hear her asking me. I figured I should just nod, always agree with women and that kind of thing. Anyway, she kissed me and skipped away and then I felt worse because I do not like her that way at all and I thought she knew that and I couldn't just crush her dreams right away and I've been avoiding her since and I-"Justin had sped up his speech so much Ernie worried he would begin to hyperventilate, so he shut him up the only way he knew how. He kissed him senseless.
They stood there for quite some time, basking in the other's presence. They had both missed this in the month and a half that they had been apart, and both silently swore themselves to never let the other go like that again. Justin had his arms wrapped around Ernie's neck, while the other wrapped his own around his partner's thin waist. They didn't worry about anybody else, they had already made the mistake of secrecy once, and they wouldn't do so again. As they slowly parted and rested their foreheads on each other, they both smiled in relief. But that didn't last long since there were still things they had to fix.
"What are we going to do about Hannah?" Justin asked tentatively, not wanting to interrupt the silence. Ernie sighed, Hannah had been his friend and though she didn't know about their relationship, she had known about his feeling for Justin and that was a betrayal he couldn't forgive as much as he wanted to.
"I'm not sure, Justin. She is-was my friend, and as angry as I am at her I think we should go easy on her."
"I guess so…so what should I do? Do I pretend we're together until we're alone in the common room and tell her the truth or what?" Justin asked, he just wanted to drag his boyfriend to the Room of Requirements but he knew Ernie wouldn't allow that until this issue was dealt with. Ernie contemplated the idea, but before he could approve or disapprove a loud voice made both of them jump. Old habits died hard after all.
"Hey sweetie, hey Ernie!"
"She basically snogged him right in front of me and dragged him off Merlin know where. I guess I'm just a bit scared, he's my best friend and her betrayal really hurt. She might not have known that we were in a relationship, but she knew about my feelings." Ernie sighed, not wanting to think about anything.
"I think Hannah has a lot of explaining to do." Harry felt like growling. Hannah, Ernie too, had been one of the people mistreating him after the Goblet of Fire had spit out his name. Ernie had apologized, publicly announced his loyalty to him and Dumbledore when the wizarding world had portrayed him a liar. He was silently amused at the fact that a Slytherin acted more like a Hufflepuff than a Hufflepuff did. But she was nevertheless a Hufflepuff, he doubted she was doing this out of malicious intent. Maybe it was a girl thing? He would ask Hermione, as subtly as possible to evade her anger of course, he didn't want to be portrayed as a sexist this year. No, he had other goals.
"I just don't understand why she would get me involved? I would think she liked Justin and this was her way of making sure you two never got together, even though you have without her knowledge. But why involve me?" Neville wondered, the heartbroken sound in his voice making Harry angrier by the minute. (They were still unaware of the mess Blaise was causing, Seamus had joined not too long ago. Draco was beginning to wonder where his wayward friend had gone to.)
"This all really doesn't sound like Hannah to be honest. She told me not too long ago that she was building up the courage to ask out Terry Boot." Ernie was mumbling to nobody in particular.
"Girls are complicated! Thank Merlin I'm gay!" Ernie was fed up with everybody at this point. Justin's Hufflepuffness and hesitance to tell Hannah the truth most of all. Though he couldn't blame him either. (He'd be laughing soon enough, Seamus managed to change hair colors)
After Harry followed Neville
Blaise watched the Hufflepuff table carefully, wondering what could have upset Longbottom. Justin Finch-Fletchley didn't seem to be enjoying the snogging he was getting from the Abbott girl, he was looking around as if he was looking for an escape. Once the girl had begun eating, he subtly wiped his mouth, guiltily looking at the Slytherin table as if looking for somebody. Blaise raised his eyebrow once the Hufflepuff's eyes landed on him. Most interesting indeed.
After a while of Finch-Fletchley shoving his food around on his plate, the Abbott girl got up and dragged both he and Susan Bones out of the hall, most likely towards the Hufflepuff Common Room. Blaise couldn't help himself, first Ernie wasn't here, then Neville was upset and Harry followed him….he somehow knew this group had a hand in this in some way or another.
Blaise quietly got up and followed them out, staying behind a corner at all times to avoid being seen. The entry to the Hufflepuff common room was surprisingly close to the Slytherin one, so it wouldn't seem suspicious if he was seen down here. But he wanted to at least have a little fun with this, can you blame him?
The Bones girl had huffed and left once the Abbot girl had pulled the boy into another snog, who still seemed rather reluctant. Blaise silently watched as the boy shove the Abbott girl off of him once Bones was out of sight, rubbing his mouth firmly. Blaise rolled his eyes, melodramatic Hufflepuffs.
"Look, Hannah, you're a great friend and all but I've told you that I don't like you that way!" Finch-Fletchley said, which seemed rather obvious to Blaise. But he was Blaise, observant pureblooded Slytherin, it was in his very nature to notice everything around him. He just chose to ignore it sometimes.
"But you agreed to go on a date with me next Hogsmeade weekend!" the girl almost shrieked, making Blaise's ear ring from the empty corridor's echo.
"And that means you should snog me without any reason to? I never agreed to anything, I do not like you that way." The boy said, it seemed this wasn't the first time they had had this specific conversation.
"But-"
"You know, usually when a guy says he doesn't like you, it means he doesn't like you." Blaise had enough, they were beginning to bore him. He didn't pay attention to Finch-Fletchley's grateful smile.
"What do you know?! He loves me, he just doesn't know it yet!" Hannah Abbott was just like any other horny 16 year old girl. Which was why she proceeded to jump Blaise Zabini and try to pummel him into the ground.
"What the fuck is going on here?!" a voice suddenly said.
Seamus had been on his way back to his common room, he was tired and had been planning revenge-pranks with the twins all day. But he stood still in shock at the sight in front of him.
Blaise was on the floor, nose bleeding, and a very angry Hannah Abbott on top of him, who was being barely restrained by Justin Finch-Fletchley. The walls around the trio had marks of missed hexes, a piece of wall had even cracked in one area. Just what had he missed? The trio had ignored his presence completely, continuing their…disagreement. A spell sent by Hannah barely missed him, exploding the head of one of the suits of armors.
"Fine." Seamus said, before joining in on the mayhem. He had learnt quite a few spells from Fred and George, some created by the twins themselves. He ran and tackled Hannah, only to be straddled by her I turn, wand pointing at his face.
"In any other situation, you'd be screaming my name in this position." He winked at her, before pointing his own wand at her. A "Capillos Fuco" later, her hair was rapidly changing colors, going from green with silver strands to pink with yellow spots. A "Sublino" and "Tinguo" later, it was also Snape Greasy, she was almost as pale as a ghost and her clothes where soaked in sweat. Get a girl where it hurt: looks. He threw her off, and was promptly hit by a pink spell in retaliation. He turned around and seen Blaise being hit by the same spell, their eyes connecting in confusion.
"DID YOU CAST WHAT I THINK YOU DID?!" Blaise and Seamus both yelled at the girl, who looked in confusion at her own wand.
"uuuuhhhh...sorry?"
"Stop laughing, Harry. This is not funny."
"Draco, do you find this amusing?"
Harry and Draco stood around a bed in the hospital wing. Draco's lip was twitching, betraying his lack of a facial expression, while Harry was shamelessly laughing.
"I can't believe you got yourself hit by a sex spell. Unbelievable." Draco rubbed his face in exasperation, Harry finally sinking to the floor. It was even funnier when Draco had said it.
"Not like it was on purpose!" the Irishman spoke. He just wanted to sleep, and if that happened to involve being cuddled by one Blaise Zabini, he was all for it. They had immediately felt the effects of the spell, had barely made it to the hospital wing where not even Pomfrey could separate them. So they were in an enlarged bed, Blaise curled around the Irish desperately trying to control his…urges.
"This school." Ernie mumbled in the background, ignoring Justin's flinch when he pressed his split lip too hard with the disinfecting wad. Pomfrey was busy talking to Snape about an antidote and couldn't heal Justin at the moment. Muggle technique it was.
"Well, Hannah seemed to have come out of whatever she was in." Justin said, referring to the girl two beds over sleeping. She had apologized a million times to Blaise and Seamus, she didn't know what she was doing. She said she barely remembered these past few days, apologizing for whatever she had done during that time. Ernie wasn't buying it.
"Mr. Zabini, Mr. Finnigan...I don't like to tell you this, but Professor Snape will take about a month to brew the antidote. In this time you will feel almost uncontrollable urges to…engage in intercourse with one another. By the end of the month it will seem unbearable, but once you consume the antidote you should be fine. I will let you know, giving in to these urges will not lessen the effect of the spell." Madame Pomfrey explained, feeling like she had to add the last sentence.
Before anybody could react, Blaise had grabbed Seamus around the waist and carried him bridal style out of the infirmary.
"Off to the Room of Requirements!" Blaise yelled out gleefully, Seamus giggling in approval.
"….I wanted to go there later." Justin pouted, earning a fond cuff around the head from Ernie.
There you go :) I've thought long and hard about this, and I decided that this will be a Blaise/Harry/Seamus story. For one that is what most people voted on, plus I find the idea amazing. After a long conversation with my girlfriend, I've decided to include Draco/Luna as well. While Draco thinks she's nuts and weird, she is still a pureblood and a Ravenclaw. She's also a very mannered and friendly girl, so I think Narcissa would approve of her, though Lucius is harder to convince.
This does not mean Draco will become innocent overnight. He is still a marked Death Eater, and it is still his mission to kill Dumbledore. I have other plans of course, don't worry too much about him ;)
Thank you for reading and sticking with me, please tell me in a review what you've enjoyed most so far and what has frustrated you etc. You don't even have to review, you can PM me as well, I really do care about you guys.
Without further ado, I dedicate this chapter to my lovely girlfriend, who is reading this too. She's the person I converse with most about this, and also the one that will be helping me write the smut in the future...;)
All the love to my readers!
