The promise Chapter 25

Several officers ran in to find Eddie holding his aunt's hand, she had tried to fire the gun at the sudden entrance of Alex into the room, but Eddie's quick reaction stopped her from doing any harm to anyone. Alex ran to where Loren sat and hugged her. "Mommy you ok?"

Loren continued to cry, this ordeal had her on pins and needles. She hugged Alex back.
"Yes sweetie, I am."

He smiled. "Where is Isabella?"

"She'll be here soon."

The Police took Lorie away and she continued to scream for Eddie. "Eddie they're taking me away, Eddie don't leave me."

He ran to Loren side and kissed her forehead. "Babe I'm so sorry."

"I'm ok Eddie, we're ok." He wiped the tears rolling down her cheeks with his thumb, the paramedic's ran in to check on Loren and helped her get onto the gurney. Linda and Nora came into the house crying. "Oh Loren thank God you're ok."

Both women hugged her as she was being taken out to the waiting ambulance.

"Mom I'm ok." Eddie followed her into the ambulance with Nora, Linda, Mel and Alex trailing behind in their car.

When Loren arrived Dr. Mitchell was already waiting, she was wheeled into a room where she was checked. "Loren you're almost ready, you're dilated between 7 and 8."

Eddie held her hand. "Loren I'm so sorry, I knew my Aunt wasn't well but I never imagined she would do such a thing."

"It's ok Eddie; we're all safe, I'm just glad she's going to get the help she needs."

"I had to play along with her; otherwise I thought she would hurt you or the baby."

"She kept saying she was her grandma."

"I know babe, she thought I was her son, apparently she was in love with my dad, and when he married my mom that made her bitter and angry."

"Oh no, I'm so sorry Eddie."

Loren felt another contraction coming. She closed her eyes breathing as she tried to cope with the pain.

"I'm so proud of you babe." Eddie sat by her side holding her hand.

Mel sat quietly. Nora walked towards her; she could tell Mel was still very upset. "Mel thank you for being with Loren."

Mel finally let the tears she was holding back come running down her cheeks.

"Oh Nora, that woman scared me, I had to hide it from Loren, I thought for sure she was going to hurt Loren, she kept teasing with this stupid gun in her hand."

"I know she hit the security officer outside of the house, how she got so close to him unnoticed I will never know."

Nora hugged Mel. "It's ok, cry and let it out; Loren is safe and now will be having her baby."

"I think all of this made Loren go into labor, she wasn't due for another week."

"The important thing is she is safe Mel."

The Dr. checked Loren and she was ready to deliver. With instructions from the Dr. as to when to push, Loren finally delivered their daughter. Eddie couldn't help but cry as he heard his beautiful daughter let out her first cry, she was beautiful.

She was handed to the nurse who proceeded to weight her. "She's 7 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long."

Eddie kissed his wife. "You were amazing, she's amazing."

Two hours later Alex stood looking at his new baby sister. Nora and Linda were ecstatic with the newest Duran baby, and Mel smiled looking at Isabella.

"She's prefect Lo, I think she's going to have your wavy hair."

Alex kept talking to her. "Isabella I'm Alex, I'm 5 years old, I know a lot of things I'm going to teach you."

Loren smiled looking at him at awe with the baby. She turned to Eddie. "He's going to be the perfect big brother."

Mel finally noticed her phone. "Ok you guys, everyone knows Eddie has a daughter, it's all over the news, and unfortunately your Aunt Lorie made the news too."

"I'm not worried about her, Jake will know what to tell them, I want no reporters asking me or Loren or any of you any questions regarding today's incident."

"Don't worry Eddie, we won't respond to any of their questions." Replied Nora.

A few days later we find Loren home with Isabella, she's a beautiful baby and very good, letting mommy get enough rest at night. Alex is such a great helper too. He can't stand to hear her cry and he's right there by her side, he started to sing to her and she loves it, when she hears his voice it's very soothing to her. Loren loves how much he loves her.

Eddie can't stop smiling either, the boy who once thought the world had come to an end when his lost his parents was happy when he realized how much he loved Loren, how much she had helped him cope with the death of his parents, how much he wanted to have his own family and for a moment lost hope of that happiness when he thought he had lost Loren, he knew he had a chance once Loren was back in his life, but he never gave up hope that she would always be a part of his life, a wonderful mother to his son Alex and now his new daughter Isabella. He felt complete now. With a career that took him to the top of the music world.

Linda stopped by to drop off some gifts that had been delivered to Jake's office.

"Eddie there's a trunk full of gifts for Isabella, got a call from the Dr. that is seeing Lorie, the medication seems to be helping her, and he will let us know how she is every week."

"I hope she recovers and can finally be happy."

Loren walked in holding Isabella. "Hi Linda, what brings you here?"

"Guess again, Jake called there were more gifts for your daughter at his office."

"We should donate those; she has gotten so many things already."

Linda laughed. "You can never have enough stuffed teddy bears."

"That's for sure." Loren handed the baby to Linda.

"Omg Loren, she's beautiful and she has daddy's brown eyes."

Loren couldn't help but agree. "I think so too Linda, I think she's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen."

Nora walked in agreeing with Loren. " The future Miss America for sure."

Linda laughed turning towards Nora. "Listen to the proud grandma."

"You know what I think is so funny, the day she brings home her first boyfriend."

Eddie turned to look at his aunt who sat laughing. "Oh don't even tell me about that yet, she's my girl right now and I can't even think of her at 16 yet."

"You go ahead and enjoy her Eddie, time flies, I remember you in diapers and now look at you, Rock star, husband and daddy."

"I know, but I don't want to think about that right now, can I enjoy her as a baby first please?"

Loren wrapped her arms around him from behind. "I agree with Eddie, I can't even talk about that right now, I want to enjoy my two babies just as they are right now."

Several weeks later Jake stopped by to see Eddie.

"Eduardo, the press wants a family portrait and the label thinks it's a good idea to promote your next album with you and your family in it."

"Why?"

"Think about it, girls can't swoon over you anymore, the sales of your albums will consist of you getting families to notice your music, and you're a married man now."

"I guess you're right, Isabella will be 6 weeks old in a few days, Loren should be feeling up to taking pictures, let me talk to her and they can come here."

"Yes I knew I would be able to convince you to see things my way Eduardo."

"As long as it doesn't take me away from my family I'll be alright."

Jake picked up his bag. "Ok talk to Loren and pick a date and I'll see you soon."

"Sounds like a plan!"

Eddie spoke to Loren and within a few days a photographer showed up and took several pictures of Eddie and Loren with their children.

Eddie's album would be released soon and this time he was a family man. Pictures of his family would be included inside his CD.

Loren continued to give Lessons to Alex; he was in the kindergarten level. Lolita came in handing her a special delivery envelope.

"Oh thank you Lolita."

Eddie walked in. "I thought I heard the doorbell."

Loren opened the envelope. "It's a special delivery from Europe."

"Who's it from?"

Loren smiled. "It's from Cam, he's getting married."

"Really? I'm happy for him, he said he would find his Loren and I guess he did."

Loren handed Eddie the invitation. "Looks like he found a winner."

"No I'm the winner in that department. I married the most beautiful woman in this whole world."

"Oh Eddie in your eyes I will always be the most beautiful woman, and I have the hottest husband."

Eddie brought Loren close him. "I love you."

"I love you too." Loren looked away blushing.

Eddie laughed. "Are you still blushing around me Mrs. Duran?"

"Doesn't matter how long we're together you're always going to make me blush, it's that look you give me, it gives me goose bumps."

"Really well I think that's very sexy."

Loren leaned in kissing Eddie; he held her tighter deepening the kiss, he pulled away trying to catch his breathe. "We need alone time Mrs. Duran."

Loren smiled looking away. "Stop looking at me like that."

"No I'm not letting go of you until you tell me we can have fun again."

Loren looked at him with so much love. "I made arrangements for mom to come and stay with Alex and Isabella, you and I are going away Mr. Duran."

"Oh I like the sound of that."

He kissed her again. Nora walked in. "Ok you two, keep that up and we're going to have another Duran in 9 months."

Loren pulled away laughing. "Mom! We haven't had time for each other."

"I'm here now so you two get going."

Eddie looked at Loren. "What we're packed and ready to go?"

"I've been packed and ready to go since this morning." Loren smirked.

They both walked to kiss Alex and Isabella good-bye.

"Are you and mom going away again?"

Eddie smiled. "Yes just for a few days, grandma Nora will be here with you, help her with Isabella."

"Ok but next time I want to come and have fun too."

Eddie laughed. "Yeah ok son."

"Mom we'll be back by Sunday night."

"Don't have too much fun."

Eddie walked towards Loren and held her hand. "Ok Nora see ya in a few."

The driver stood waiting by the Escalade outside their home. Loren and Eddie got inside and the driver took off.

Eddie sat with Loren in the back. "Thank you for planning such a romantic getaway."

"You better be ready for many of these Eddie."

"I love the idea, I love you Loren."

Loren cupped his face. "I love you more."

"That's a promise you can count on Mrs. Duran."

He held her gently leaning in to kiss his beautiful wife. Loren knew that the promise they made to love each other forever would never be broken. She felt secure in Eddie's arms and their future.
