The sun was beginning to rise over the Survey Corps castle as the night waned. Recruits clamored about in the dining hall, waiting in line to receive their breakfasts. "Oi, brat. Come with me, we're going to do some training." Eren jumped, startled and turned to face Captain Levi. He stood straight and saluted, "Yes, heichou!" Mikasa grabbed his arm. "Training for what?" she asked, her eyes narrowing in no attempt to hide her contempt for the captain. "None of your damn business, Ackerman," Levi said, slitting his eyes right back at Eren's sister. He turned his attention back to Eren and jerked his head to the side in gesture for the boy to follow.
Eren trailed Levi doggedly through the empty halls. "Where are we going, heichou?" the boy inquired, his blue eyes large and curious. "Upstairs." The captain said, not bothering to turn his face towards Eren. They reached the entryway to his quarters. "What are we doing here?" Eren turned his head to the side in confusion. Levi rolled his eyes and pushed Eren inside by the small of his back. The captain grabbed the cup of tea he had left on his desk and sank onto the sofa, crossing one leg over the other. He looked up at Eren, who had crossed his arms and was standing awkwardly by the book shelf. "Answer me this Eren," Levi took a sip of his tea, holding it how he always did, his hand above the cup, fingers around the rim. "Do you believe me to be a man of my word?" Eren looked up from the ground. "Why yes—yes of course, sir!" Levi nodded and gazed down at his tea. He stood up and leaned against his desk.
"In that case, strip." Levi stared expressionless at Eren, who was clearly taken aback. "Heichou, my—my clothes?" the boy asked, his voice wavering. The captain's nostrils flared but his eyes did not change. "What else, brat? Now strip." Eren's brow furrowed as he took off his boots awkwardly. The captain continued drinking as the boy slipped off his jacket and shirt shyly. Eren's hands hovered over his pants zipper in hesitation. He looked over at Levi and saw the captain's eyes flash and narrow. He sucked in a breath and unbuckled his pants, stepping out of them once they fell at his ankles. "Alright, what do I have to do now?" he mumbled, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Levi moved his tongue within his mouth and raised an eyebrow, nodding at Eren's undershorts. The boy's eyes grew large and he bit his lip.
"Levi heichou, why are you making me do this?" Eren pleaded in exasperation as his underwear fell to the floor. The captain admired his long lean form, took him by the ear to the window and made him to sit on the ground. Levi turned away and dug through his desk drawer as Eren hugged his knees to his chest in an attempt to cover himself. "Eren, do you remember that lovely time we had in the military court?" the captain asked nonchalantly, opening another drawer. Eren gasped and his body shivered, afraid that history would be repeated once again in Levi's quarters. "I told the court that you should be trained not as a man, but as a dog." The captain walked toward the boy with a collar and chain in hand, his eyes hidden behind his hair. Eren's mouth dropped open as Levi knelt down beside him. "Heichou! What the—what is this?!" Eren tried to scoot away but Levi grabbed him by the jaw. "Don't you 'heichou' me. Like you said, I'm a man of my word." The captain stared into Eren's fearful eyes with eerie calm. He hooked the collar around the boy's slender neck and connected it with a chain to a peg on the floor.
Levi stood up and gazed down his nose at the frightened and embarrassed boy. "I have to go tend to other matters for now. You are not to move from this spot, brat. That's an order." Eren reached out his arm and opened his mouth to speak but the door had already slammed shut.
