The Alchemist Who Couldn't Perform Alchemy

Chapter Five - The Ice Queen of Briggs

Edward's head was throbbing, every time his heart pounded he could slowly feeling it come out of the cold that Briggs had given him. Everything around him was completely white. To be honest, at first he thought he was dead. That bear had probably torn up everything that was left of him.

Sure, he thought he was dead. That was until he felt a sharp pain in his arm. He winced and sat up, letting his vision clear. He was in a room. Laying on a soft bed. His head and arm were wrapped in a thick bandage.

"Awake huh?"

Edward jerked, seeing a young woman with glasses. She had short and spiky blond hair. She wore a white lab coat, but under that was a comfortable turtle neck. Another young man was also in the corner of the room. He looked very similar to an older Alphonse...you know if he was in his body that is. It startled Ed, and honestly he didn't know what to say, that was until he tried to get up. His Auto arm was handcuffed to the bed.

"Where the hell am I?" Ed asked.

"Fort Briggs. In the North. You seemed to know where you were going when you stepped into this icy hell full of bears and soldiers. What were you thinking, and what's you're name?"

"Edward Elric...you?"

"I'd rather not say my name. I'm the Brigg's Doctor. Just call me B.D."

"Ok, B.D. why the hell am I chained up like this?! I haven't done anything to deserve this!"

"Pardon my interruption," the young man stood up "My name is Urtle, her nurse. You see Mr. Elric. You were trespassing. This is an off limits place for a civilian such as yourself."

"You don't understand. I'm a State Alchemist. I was chasing after this guy."

Suddenly, the door swung open. A strong voice filled his ears, "A State Alchemist you say?"

The Voice came from a woman. She had long blond hair, and piercing blue eyes. She was wearing a military uniform but she had a fur cape over it. And in her hand was a long sword. Behind her were two men. One had darker skin and white hair. He also wore strange glasses. The other man, well one of his arms was Auto-mail...but it was a chainsaw weapon. He was also bald on the side but had a very long ponytail.

"Prove it." she hissed.

Edward gulped and looked over at his red jacket hanging on a chair. He pointed over at it, signaling Urtle to retrieve it. He did, and quickly handed it to him. Edward reached into his pockets, expecting to pull out his shiny pocket watch. But it was gone.

"What the-? Where is my Pocket Watch?!" he screamed.

"When we found you you had no Pocket Watch. You're lying to us? Since you have misplaced your watch why not show us some Alchemy?" one of the men asked.

"N-no. I can't...I can't do that either."

"See! Look at the little twerp! He must be a spy!"

"Buccaneer," the woman sheared. "There is no need to be so rash...not yet. Miles, you and the doctor stayin here with him. I will go prepare a cell."

"N-No! Wait...I…"

The young woman and "Buccaneer" exited the room. Leaving B.D., Urtle, Miles, and himself in the room. Edward sighed and looked at man.

"So, where are you from?" Miles asked.

"Central." Ed sighed.

"Kid, you do realize that you're Auto-mail could have killed you out there. In Briggs you have to use special kind of Auto-mail. What was you're Mechanic thinking?"

"Hey its not her fault! She didn't know I was coming up here...and neither did I last minute."

"Well, my name is Miles. That scary woman was Major General Armstrong. And the other guy was Buccaneer."

"Armstrong? Wait...Armstrong! I know Alex Armstrong! Don't tell me…"

"Yes," B.D. sighed "That is her sister. The Icy Queen of Briggs. So if you know the Major then you must really be with the Military."

"Yeah, and I'm not lying about the Alchemist part. It's a long story…"

Edward explained to the three his story. At first they didn't believe him. But after hearing about the Fullmetal Alchemist his story seemed somewhat legit. What did not add up to them, however, was the fact that he was an Alchemist that had lost the ability to use Alchemy. It just didn't make any sense.

"So this Laxes and Schools guys are up in the North trying to escape? That's odd considering the fact that we haven't seen any intruders besides yourself."

Edward glared at him, "I am not an intruder I'm telling you. Why can't you guys just…"

At first, Edward was going to tell them to call Mustang and the others. But to be honest he didn't want to be seen. Not like this. He felt so weak without his Alchemy. If only he hadn't have fallen for that stupid trick.

Once again the door swung open. Armstrong strolled in, sword in hand and glared at the boy. "To the cell with you. Once you spend a night there you will get a chance to prove your innocence. If guilty you will be executed for even thinking you could slip under my nose. If you succeed you're Auto-mail will be fixed and you will be our guest for a while."

Edward looked into her eyes. He could see himself cowering away from her. This woman...she was a force to be reckoned with, and everyone here seemed to respect her. This was the Icy Queen of Briggs.

Edward was escorted by two soldiers down the hall from the infirmary. After a few minutes he was greeted by a lonely, cold cell. There was a small bed, sink, and toilet. You're typical jail cell. Just great. He sighed and walked inside and sat down where he was uncuffed.

"This shouldn't be me right now. It should be Laxes and Schools. I swear, once I pass that test tomorrow, I'll hunt them down for sure."

And with that, Edward rested waiting for his test of innocence to begin.

Hi guys, it's been a while! I apologize. I kinda wanna get this story up and moving again. Besides Edward's Five Nights at Freddy's I will also be typing this up and trying to revive it after along time. For those of you who have bee waiting for this I'm sorry for the wait. If you have been reading my newer stories you may find that the chapters are longer. This is the way it is going to be from now on. After this, the chapters will get longer unless I hit another writer's block! Thanks for those who are reading. I really appreciate it! I'll be back soon.
