Who Knew School Was This Crazy

Tsuna's P.O.V
That night I couldn't really sleep at all. Find my guardians… What does Giotto-nii mean? I keep looking at the list over and over again. There are the names of almost every student in the Academy, save Giotto-nii and his friends, and Enma-kun, arranged in alphabetical order, with their flame attributes at the side. I glance over it, trying to decide what they mean.
Fujimaki Rai – Lightning
Fujimoto Suzuki - Sun
Gokudera Hayato – Storm
Go Minami – Cloud
Gokidera-kun's name is on here… Who else is?
Bovino Lambo – Lightning
Yamamoto Takeshi – Rain
Hibari Kyoya – Cloud
Oh, Lambo, Yamamoto and Hibari-san are on here too? Wait, isn't Lambo like thirteen or something? Why is he on here? I look for more familiar names on the list.
Dokuro Chrome – Mist
Dokuro Mukuro – Mist
Sasagawa Ryohei – Sun
The creepy one is here too? So was Ryohei… I look it over, back and front, finding I-Pin's and Bianci's name as well, but nobody else. I sigh, knowing that with my brain, I won't be able to figure anything out. I set the list aside and snuggle into my blankets. Maybe a quick nap. School will start in a few hours, I should rest before facing Giotto-nii…
With that thought, I fall asleep.
The next morning, I take Enma to the cafeteria. We grab breakfast and eat as quickly as we could, afraid that we would be late for class. We had seen one student be late for class. Let's just say that from all those push-ups, someone's arms would be really sore today. We take our books from our locker and go into class, taking the only two empty seats left. Luckily, they are right next to each-other, and next to the window. The class begins shortly after, and we tune out the boring teacher.
"What did Giotto-san tell you yesterday?" Enma ask. "Was it about your guardians or something?"
"Yes, actually…" I say. "How did you know?"
"I've seen that you've been going around without your guardians… You should have at least two… Its unsafe for someone like you to be without them…"
"Someone like me?" I question.
Enma nods. "So why don't you have any?"
"I don't know… What are guardians anyways? Giotto-nii told me to choose wisely…but I can't choose wisely and choose blindly at the same time."
"Guardians are what they sound like. They're people that protect you, like your own personal body guards. Usually, you have one of each attribute. Business is easier to handle when their personalities and needs are all split up that way," Enma explains. "Once you become a mafia boss, they're going to be absolutely necessary. Many people are going to target you, from rival families, people who want your power for their own, or people who want revenge against you or someone connected to you. It's best to choose now… I mean, someone has already tried to kill you once."
"What? When?" I ask, my jaw going slack. When did this happen? Why would someone try to kill me?!
"The guys from yesterday. Their leader, Xanxus, is a contender for the Vongola 10th. If he kills you, he becomes the successor, and he inherits all the power," Enma patted my back.
"Will he try to kill me again…?" Now I was afraid…
"Of course. And he isn't the only one. You know, the Millefiore will try too as well."
"…so when can I run away..?"
Enma chuckles. "It's okay, Tsuna-kun. My guardians and I will protect you as much and as long as we can. You're my friend now. I'll do anything it takes to protect you."
"Thank you Enma-kun…"
"You're welcome, Tsuna-kun.."
"SAWADA-SAN! KOZATO-SAN!"
I let out a /manly/ shriek as a ruler came slamming down on my desk. The teacher glares at Enma and I. If looks could kill, we would be so dead right now. The teacher kicks us out, and slams the door on us. I nervously turn to Enma.
"W-we deserved that…huh…" I ask nervously.
Our backpacks came flying, hitting us on the head. "YES!" The teacher yell. The class laughs as she slams the door in our faces.
"Well…Now what…?" Enma asks.
"AND YOU TWO CAN GO JOIN THEM!"
Gokudera and Yamamoto come flying out the door. Enma and I duck, almost barely missing them as they soar over our heads. The teacher screams in frustration as she throws their backpacks at them. The class laughs again. Yamamoto sat up, laughing as well.
"That was fun! We should do it again sometime!" He said cheerfully.
"You baka, we're in trouble!" Gokudera yelled. "Not that it matters… This is like an everyday thing for us." He looks up and sees Enma and I, and he instantly brightens up. "Y-you're still here, Juudaime?! You waited for me?"
"K-kinda…" I say slowly.
Yamamoto stands up and slings his arm over our shoulders. "Well, now that the four of us are out here, we should just skip class. Let's go somewhere and have some fun!"
"Don't force yourself on Juudaime like that, you freak!"
"It's fine, Gokudera-kun," I laugh. "Normally… I wouldn't ditch… But let's go?"
"Let's go then!"
Being completely unfamiliar with the campus, I allowed Gokudera to lead us somewhere. While Yamamoto and Gokudera take us somewhere, I talk quietly to Enma. I asked him how he chose his guardians, thinking that maybe I could learn a little from him.
"I just chose my best friends," he replies. "Its easier when you already trust the people. During a fight, a stronger trust will result in stronger flames, which means a better chance that you win. Don't choose someone who is powerful, or someone who always wins… Choose someone who you can trust, and who you'll know will follow orders and not betray you."
"Makes sense…" I murmur.
"If anyone, Gokudera-san and Yamamoto-san seem like good choices. You seem to be close to them, and they seem extremely loyal. You should choose them as your Guardians," Enma says
"Did I hear someone say you were looking for a guardian….?" Gokudera turns around, eyes extremely hopeful. "Juudaime, I would gladly offer to be your Guardian! Please, allow me the honor to be your right hand man! I will swear to lay my life down to fulfill your every wish and order!"
"Oh, Tsuna is looking for a Guardian? I volunteer~" Yamamoto add in sing-song voice.
"Accept, Tsuna-kun," Enma nudges me.
"…how..?" I ask, looking back at him.
"Just say yes," he says.
"Then…yes," I smile weakly, unsure if I did it right.
Gokudera launches himself out me, and we both topple over. He hugs me tightly. "K-Killing me…"
"S-Sorry, Juudaime…" He helps me up, and tries grinning, but the tears in his eyes prevent him from doing so. "I'm so happy…"
"Gokudera-kun, don't cry, it's okay…" I pat his head.
"Let him be. Both of us have been kicked out of very family we've been accepted to… I'm about to cry too," Yamamoto shrugs his sad look off with a laugh. "We didn't think you'd accept us. But you did…and it feels great to be under a boss again."
"We look forward to working with you, Juudaime," Gokudera snuffles.
"And I look forward to working with you, Gokudera, Yamamoto."
The two smile at me gratefully. At that moment, someone joins us in the hallway. Enma groans in pain as someone hits him over the head, knocking him down the ground.
"Skipping class. An intolerable act. I will bite you to death."
DUN DUN DUUUUUN. CLIFFIE. I'M SO EVIL. I'm sorry… I don't mean to be… I just like hugs and candies… don't hurt me…
