A/N: For Dantanchel Week day three: big break.
It wasn't long until Pamela Lansbury - sans Kurt and Rachel and Santana - caught the attention of a local talent agent. Then soon after, another, different talent agent caught Rachel's Broadway show. And still, not too long after that, as it turned out, Santana's audition for a direct-to-TV movie piqued the interest of yet another talent agent passing his way through.
So what that all meant? In reference to all three young woman's lives, it meant that they were, pretty soon after coming onto each of their respective scenes, important and famous and sought after.
Rachel was the Broadway Darling.
Dani was the Rockin' Chick.
And Santana, she was the Rising Star.
So what, even more, this meant for all three in the public's eyes? Showing up at each other's events when they weren't off on their respective jobs, laughing and smiling and posing for photographers, arms curled around each other in a calculated average so no one could be accused of spending more time with each other, Santana and Rachel and Dani managed, for at least a couple of years, to confound the oppressive public.
Santana and Dani kissed? They were just happy for each other, two lesbians who were probably dating without announcing it. Santana and Rachel kissed? They were old friend celebrating. Dani and Rachel kissing? Okay, maybe that was bit more suggestive, seeing as Dani was the love 'em and leave 'em type and she and Rachel didn't have the history, but at least they were lifelong gal pals.
The novelty of the whole thing was, still, somehow, that no matter what each woman did, spending nights at each other's apartments - and how was it, Dani and Santana having apartments in the same building? - they still managed to seem, at least, to lead separate lives.
Separate lives that, at least, hopefully, Dani drew in a deep breath, repeating the phrase that echoed the tagline she'd glanced at earlier that morning in the grocery store, snagging Santana's hand, then Rachel's too, smiling at each of her girlfriends, guaranteed they'd still have opportunity to love each other until everything - until the public - caught, terribly, she rolled her eyes, gritting her teeth, on.
