For those of you still reading, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the encouraging words and fabulous ideas.
NOTE: Quinn's childhood personality and childhood living situation is a lot like Matilda's in the move "Matilda", except she can't move things with her eyes XD
Well, there's nothing else to say !
Enjoy.
Oh! One more thing!
This is for you, Susie :*
PREVIOUSLY:
Brittany lead her to Miss Kay. Miss Kay let out her hand for Santana to take, but instead of taking hers, she took Quinn's limp hand resting by Miss Kay's side. She gave it a light squeeze and soon followed by Quinn squeezing her hand just as tight. They were in this together.
The goodbyes were brief, Rachel running upstairs to hand Miss Kay the bags they came with, as well as the girl's pacifiers, full of last saddened glances once the door was closed. The moms collapsed on the couch and finally let their tears fall, trying to hold each other up.
They could only hope this is all worth it.
The car ride back to the foster house was anything but awkward. Miss Kay really tried to get Santana and a now awake Quinn to engage into conversation, but neither of them felt like talking at the moment. Little Santana just did not understand this process of adoption. She just wanted her mommies! What was so hard about that?
Miss Kay kept continuously glancing at the girls through the rearview mirror while driving back to her house. They've been overall pretty silent, an occasional sigh or whimper coming from their mouths. Santana just kept her head down, giving the flowers on Quinn's dress all of her attention, wiggling in her youth booster seat growing impatient of not seeing her mommies sooner. Quinn was attempting to find some sort of comfort in Santana tracing her fingers on her dress and in her pacifier. She was not excited about today at all.
They both knew that it was time to become big again; which both girls had a problem with. The only time that they step out of their childhood mindset is when they choose to be intimate; sexually and nonsexual. They didn't see the point of being an adult all the time; but they saw the point of escaping their fantasy turned reality today.
They were about to meet their parents while being adults. Santana was not as nervous, but Quinn was slowly starting to let her anxiety take over her. She hates talking, that's why she chose the infant age of 18 months; they barely talk, right?
She was taught by her extremely conservative family to keep the talking to the men, 'women are just here for the cooking and cleaning' he would always say. Her father had permanently impacted his daughter's life in a negative way.
When she went to school, she had to hide her insecurities away and put on a brave face for her peers, to be identified as the bubbly, beautiful Fabray girl that loved everyone. That's probably the only useful thing her father instilled in her. On his drunken nights, he would always slur to his daughters; 'live is like your mother's pot pies, on the outside looker, things couldn't seem more perfect, it's a good looking meal. but the inside is just the messiest shit to dig into, don't let anyone see the inside of your pot pie'. Most of his advice made sense, just the way it was said was extremely… unique.
To Quinn, she knew her family looked good to outsiders. Went to church every Sunday AND Wednesday. Both Fabray daughters had all A's, dad was a successful lawyer, and mother was a sturdy house wife, perfect family, right? But to Quinn, her family was far from perfect.
With both parents being alcoholics, it was easy for them to forget they even had daughters. Since she was 6 years old, she took care of herself, with help from her sister. Frannie would always stick up for her parents whenever Quinn would complain. 'They're teaching us independence' she would always say, 'you should feel blessed, how many six year old can cook meals and do laundry? You're going to be the best housewife, just like mama'. She knew her sister was just saying these things to try to make her look on the bright side, but to Quinn, there was no bright side in the situation at all.
She found happiness in books and movies. Her parents bought her a computer for her 16th birthday, saying that they were tired of her always coming to them when she needed to use one of their laptops for school. The internet opened her eyes and showed her so many different things; one of them being age play. She read stories and watched videos of people just like her, people who wanted a childhood do-over. A chance at living a proper childhood. She later found out there was a whole entire town filled with people like her. It was a few hours away from Lima in a place called Ada; she's never heard of it. But this place looks like a dream to her.
Shortly after she started her freshmen year, she met her best friend; Santana. Quinn couldn't help but to be drawn to the girl, she was so sad all the time, and Quinn knew she could make her feel better. It took a while, but Santana finally came around, and a friendship was born.
It turned into something more shortly after, which both girls were terrified of. With being in a small town, and both of their guardians being extremely conservative, she knew, they knew, it wasn't right.
It just got to the point where they didn't care anymore, they both wanted a new start, a new chance at the life they should have had when they were little. Quinn told Santana about the town she found. Long story short, they saved up as much babysitting money as they possibly could in the span of 2 years, and they made their way to the small town of Ada.
Once they got there, they didn't know where to go, or where to stay. They bumped from foster care to foster care, all houses having to kick them out because of the house being over populated. They were running out of money and losing hope. They found of they were moving, yet again, this time to a woman named Kay Williams. Little did she know that this was the last stop for her and Santana, because even before she stepped into the woman's foster house, two mommies already wanted both of them.
"Alright ladies, I just want to give you the little run down on what's going on when we get back to the house.." Miss Kay's voice took her out of her various flashbacks. She knew the tone in Miss kay's voice meant she wanted big girl Quinn and Santana to come out. She didn't mind though, she knew her stepping out of her childhood mindset for just a little while way mandatory for the adoption process. She glanced over at her girlfriend to see Santana sitting up more straight and crossed one leg over the other. She knew adult Santana was here as well. She let out a light sigh and looked at Miss Kay waiting for her to continue
"Brittany and Rachel are coming over at 2:30, which is about," she glanced at her watch "in a couple of hours. This meeting as your adult selves gives you both the opportunity to get to know your future care-takers outside of your childhood mindset. Also, you can tell them what you want out of this and what you don't want. In our adoption process, we let you both write a list of rules you are willing to follow, what you want to receive in this experience, and also lets you think about whether you want age play to be a full time thing, or a part-time thing. You're interviewing Rachel and Brittany as well. So when we get to the house, ill give you guys a spare room so you can begin writing questions and rules and anything else you see fitted to discuss during the talk, alright?"
Both girls nodded their heads. They looked out the window and noticed that they were already at the house. They unbuckled themselves and followed Miss Kay to the door. Once entering, they saw that all of the 'kids' were in the backyard, so the house was pretty quiet. They followed Miss Kay to the girl's room on the 3rd floor. Miss Kay showed them the massive walk-in closet that had all of the big girl clothes.
"I know you ladies didn't come here with that many clothes, so just feel free to dress up in any of these clothes you find cute. Through the door at the end of the closet, there is another door. That's the learning center for the older girl in there. After you get dressed, you can make your way through there and begin making your questions and rules. If you need anything, I'll be in my office sorting through files. I will send them up once they get here. Just relax and make sure you make as many questions as possible, get to know as much about both of these women before you make your final decision, okay?" Miss Kay as she patted both girls on the back and exited the closet.
There was a heavy yet comfortable silence between both girls as they looked through the clothes. They haven't been in their adult state of mind in about a few days, which meant no expressions of affection that went no further that hugs and small kisses on the cheek. Neither of the girls minded though. Being little with each other helps their relationship when it comes to trust and the comfort they find in one another.
"How's this?" Santana quietly asks Quinn who was looking through the skirts. Santana had picked out a pale pink dress with a white cardigan. She didn't like wearing anyone's shoes other than hers so she stuck with her white converse.
Quinn furrowed her eyebrows as she looked her girlfriend up and down. She looked adorable, but very self-conscious. Adult Santana never likes to wear short skirts or dresses, she always says that wearing dresses is 'little Santana's thing', and she doesn't want to steal her style. Wearing fitted jeans and maxi-dresses always helped her separate her older self from her younger self.
"Are you sure, baby? I mean, you look amazing, but, you don't look like you want to wear that." Quinn said adjusting the bottom of Santana's dress so the zipper was in the back, not on the side. She knew her girlfriend. She always wanted to throw on a pair of skinny jeans, a hoodie, boots, and top it off with a beanie and call it a day. Simple as that.
Santana ran a hand through her now unbraided wavy hair. "I just, really want to impress them." She said looking down.
If Quinn could change one thing about Santana, it would be her insecure nature. She knew the girl had a really rough past, and being raised by her loud overbearing grandmother caused her to be more soft- spoken in uncomfortable situations. She just wishes that Santana can see the beautiful and talented Santana that Quinn has the privilege to see every single day. "Baby, they already love you. This is for us. To see if they make the cut. Just be you," she pulled Santana in an extremely tight embrace and laid a sweet on Santana's lips. She looked through the hung up clothes and searched for something that has Santana written all over it. A couple of minutes later, she discovered a slightly oversized burgundy thermal sweater and dark washed skinny jeans. She turned to Santana and handed Santana the clothes and found that Santana had also found something as well.
"I'll wear that, if you wear this," she said jiggling the clothes she picked for Quinn while she was looking for Santana's clothes. Quinn grinned softly nodded then proceeded to undressed from her kid clothes and disposed the diaper she was wearing. She inspected the clothes Santana picked for her; a layered yellow tank top with the white cardigan she was once wearing the dress she had on, as well as light blue jeans. Both girls got comfortably dressed and did each other's make-up before making their way over to the office.
There was a table already set up with a square table and four black chairs. The room had computers lined up on wall, and desks lined up another. There were also a number of bookshelves throughout the large room with educational books and school supplies. Santana made her way over and picked up a pen and a handful of printing paper before making her way over to Quinn who was already sitting at the table. She glanced at the clock and saw it was half past one; which meant they had about an hour before they would be there.
Quinn took ahold of one of the pens and clicked it. "Let's get started with these questions, shall we?" she said while Santana plopped in her lap instead of taking the vacant chair right next to them.
"We shall," Santana said while taking Quinn's free hand and secured it tightly around her waist.
Quinn grasped Santana's waist from the hand securely and rubbed her fingertips along her girlfriend's stomach. She felt and heard a trembled hitch in Santana's voice; and not the good kind. She felt Santana attempt to cough it off, but she failed miserably. The poor Latina went into a coughing fit, and had a slight wheeze in every cough that escaped her throat. She knew it was from the slight panic attack that they had at Rachel and Brittany's house earlier that day. It usually takes the girl a few hours to get her breathing regulated.
Quinn softly kissed the back of Santana's head and guided her to the chair next to her. She walked over to the girl's bags that were still in the closet and fished through the bag to find Santana's inhaler. Santana was going to grab it from Quinn, but the blonde grabbed the hand that was reaching for the breathing treatment and kissed the palm softly.
She held the inhaler to her mouth and instructed the girl the take deep breaths as she pumped the medication in her mouth. A couple minutes later, Santana was finished and back to almost breathing normally, but after she did the inhaler she always felt exhausted.
She climbed back onto Quinn's lap and laid her head on the girl's shoulder, tucking her face into the girl's neck.
"Question number one: is it possible for both of you to have an inhaler in your hands at all times?" Santana grumbled pitifully. Quinn chuckled softly and wrote it on the paper, beginning the Q&A.
Fifteen minutes later, the girls had a good set of rules, listing things from the most important things to stuff that came off the top of their heads:
Is it possible for both of you to have an inhaler in your hands at all times?
What made you get into the age play world?
Do you believe in spankings?
How old are you guys? Not that you look old or anything.
How did you find out about us?
Okay, let's say if you had baby requesting breastfeeding, how would you react?
How much do you both bench press?
Do your parents know anything about you adopting?
Is it possible to get rid of any frogs around the house? Oh and vegetables too. San, baby they can't get rid of vegetables. Okay, it's still of the list, calm down.
Were in a relationship. Will there be a time for us to get our sweet lady kisses on?
On a scale of 1 to 10, where would you place your strictness?
Okay one more, how often will we have mac n' cheese nights? I'm thinking 3 or 4 times a week.
The girls were looking over the list one last time when they heard the doorbell ring from downstairs. Santana climbed off of Quinn and places herself in the chair next to her and scooted it impossibly closer to her.
Quinn saw the nerves within the Latina and gently grabbed her and kissed the back of it. She looked into her girlfriend's eyes.
"We got this, muffin" Quinn said. Santana released a shuttered breath and squeezed Quinn's hand. She nodded her head slowly.
…
Twenty minutes after the girls left with Miss Kay, all of the furniture for the house came to house in two big 18 wheelers. Thankfully, all the furniture came already but together, including the cribs, beds, and high chairs. So all Brittany and Rachel had to do was decorate the girl's room and put all the things like extra bath toys, baby eating utensils, and DVDs they belong.
Rachel decided to take over decorating and cleaning Santana and Quinn's adult room, while Brittany did the nursery. As soon as the movers put the dressers and the cribs where they needed to be, the women wasted no time in making beds and stuffing the dressers with onesies and other clothes.
About an hour later, everything seemed to be close to perfect with both rooms. The Idea popped into Rachel's mind like a light bulb. She remember back to the little backpacks the girls came with when they got dropped off yesterday. They didn't have many clothes, including the ones on their backs. Seeing that they had an hour to spare, they drove down the closest clothing store for adults and bought close to $300 worth of comfortable clothing like sweat pants, yoga pants, leggings, long sleeve shirts, and a bunch of sweaters. Also underclothing such as bras, underwear, and socks. She and Brittany made a mental not to take them to the mall to shop for actual clothes when they finalized the adoption.
After putting all the clothes in the dressers in the girls' room, they jumped into a shower and quickly got dressed with 15 minutes until they had to be here. Rachel decided to wear a plum colored blouse and dark washed jeans, while Brittany is wearing a loose fit red V-neck with dark washed capris. They were on their way to get their girls.
After a short 10 minute drive, the couple knocked on the door of the gigantic foster home and patiently waited for someone to let them is. Rachel and Brittany weren't as nervous this time. They just really wanted to see their girls. Neither of them liked how things left off when the girls departed the house hours before. So hopefully, they'll be fine now.
After polite short greeting once Miss Kay opened the door, the three women made their way on the 3rd floor, through the closet, and into the spacey office. Brittney and Rachel's head quickly turned to the stunning now you adults sitting before them.
The younger girls swiftly stood out of their seats and stared at the women with a new found adoration. They had the impression that this would be extremely awkward, because the last time all four of them encountered with each other, 2 of them had on diapers. Although this is their first official time meeting in this settings, it felt like they knew the two soon to be mothers in front of them their whole lives. They way Brittany and Rachel stared at them like they were the prettiest princess in the world made this warm homey feeling run through their veins.
The girls made their way over to the women standing by the entrance in the office and tried with everything in them not to run. Santana jumped into Rachel's arms, as Quinn did the same with Brittany. She closed her eyes as she felt a hair soothingly going through her hair. She hugged the woman tighter as she felt a kiss applied to her temple.
"I missed you, Sanny. I missed you so much, baby," Rachel said into her hair.
She came into this world making herself believe that only the little version of herself needed a mother. Growing up going the high school without a mom helping her with the smaller things like getting ready for prom or eating chocolate for dinner because she got stood by her date was really hard. She had no one to seek guidance from for life decisions; and now she does.
"I missed you too, mumma" she whimpered hugging the woman impossibly tighter. Both of them know it has only been a few hours, but this new found family between all four of them has everyone extremely clingy.
She willed herself not to cry once her and Quinn switched places and she was engulfed by the most maternal and loving hug she has gotten since her mother passed away. Brittany lifter her off the ground and Santana instantly wrapped her legs around the woman's waist. She pulled her face from Brittany's neck momentarily to kiss Brittany quickly on the lips and put her head back safely tucked where it originally was.
"I missed you," Santana mumbled quietly into the blonde's shoulder. She couldn't help but regress slightly around the two women. She knew she shouldn't regress fully back into her younger self, but she couldn't help it. It was some sort of bodily instinct she couldn't control
"Not as much as we missed you, my love" she said placing the girl back on her feet whole rubbing her back in soothing circles. All this cuddle time made her remember how exhausted she was from her inhaler.
'just a few hours, San, you got this' she imagined Quinn saying to her. She looked over and saw Quinn's face cupped between Rachel's hands while they made work of wiping fallen tears from her eyes. Santana always was better at sucking up her emotion better than Quinn, by how her grandmother raised her. She smiled softly and Quinn soaked in the comforting words that Rachel was telling her. She couldn't hear what she was saying, but by the way Quinn smiled tearfully, it must have been good.
"Alright lovely ladies, this way," Miss Kay's voice took them out of the mini reunion as she guided the four women to the table; sitting the moms in from of the daughters. Quinn was slightly disappointed that she couldn't sit by one of her moms, she zoned out when Miss Kay told them the reason, but she just stuck to cuddling to Santana's side.
"I'll be back in 2 hours and the meeting will be over, the girls have written some questions for you guys to answer, and feel free to ask them questions as well. This meeting is all about getting to know one another and being able to connect on a personal level." Miss Kay said before leaving the women to it.
Brittany took a breath. "So, where are these lovely questions for us?" she asked looking between the two girls. She couldn't help but notice how they looked much younger than nineteen, they could go for 16 year olds. She was taken out of her thoughts when Santana slid a piece of paper towards them.
The moms briefly read over the paper. They laughed at the apparent humorous arguments they were having on the paper. But for the most part, the questions made sense.
Rachel and Brittany took turns answering the questions for the girls. Explaining the story of Rachel growing up motherless and searching for people who wanted to relive their childhoods.
Also, they told them about spanking being the very VERY last option as a form a punishment.
They told the girls that they were both 21 years old, which made their eyes bulge out of their sockets.
Rachel told them about how they accidentally found their files with a meeting with Miss Kay, but reassured the girls it was the best mistake they've ever made.
Brittany told them if one of them were seriously considering wanting to try breastfeeding, she would really look into it. Whatever makes them happy, they are willing to try.
They both shared how they did cheerleading in high school and had the most brutal cheer coach and pushed them way past their limits. This caused them to be extremely strong for their size therefor being able to easily life the lightweight girls.
They also shared how they both have not talked to anyone since they moved to Ada, so they wouldn't know about them adopting both girls.
They assured Quinn they will throw everything that resembled a frog once they return to the house tonight. However, the veggies must stay.
They told the girls they would never ever pressure them into doing age play, unless they absolutely needed it at the time. When they want to be adults, it was their choice. The moms assured them they will be loved; big or small. Also, cracked door policy was going to be instilled.
Strictness would be based on the attitude at the exact moment. If they had to tell the girls to do something more than once, the strictness will increase. Common sense.
And most important answer the girls received: Yes, mac n' cheese night will be every Friday night.
Quinn and Santana couldn't be happier, all the answers were perfect. They loved the side stories they shared from their past and funny comments. Even though the women are only a few years older than the girls, it felt like age didn't matter. Rachel and Brittany were their moms. The adoration they had for them was written all over their faces.
2 hours was up before they knew it. Miss Kay came back in once time was up and released the girls. All four women were happy to hear Miss Kay telling them they could that an extra 4 days with them and come back on Sunday to finalize the adoption. The said their quick goodbyes and headed out the door.
Seeing it was close to being 5:30, Rachel decided to take the family to the diner down the street to have supper. 4 milkshakes and burgers later, along with a whole bunch laughs, including a small milkshake fight, the sun was setting as the two moms drove home with slumbering daughters in the back. Brittany reached over and linked Rachel's hands with hers over the counsel. Soft smiles were exchanges before they focused their eyes on the road. They wouldn't have it any other way.
…
Since the furniture made it while the girls were at the foster home, the wives gave them a whole tour of the once empty rooms.
They first showed the girls their room for their older selves with the a jointed bathroom. They absolutely loved the pastel colors mixing with the dark blue walls. Very perfect. They almost cried tears of joy at the sight of all 16 drawers filled in capacity with all the comfortable clothes the women bought earlier that day.
Lastly, they showed the girls their nursery. Rachel was a little apprehensive on showing them, mainly because she didn't know it they would like it or not.
Her answer was given when she opened the door and both girls stepped in. Both girls immediately began to start crying at the sight. It looked like two rooms joined together. Quinn made her way over to her side of the room. Tracing her detailed white crib with a pale pink canopy over the top of it, reminding her of Cinderella's horse carriage. She opened all the drawers and saw even more clothes, this time they were onesies and pretty dresses for her younger self. She sobbed happily when she noticed a lamb imprinted blanket hanging over the side of her crib and felt the soft fabric against her fingertips.
After studying every detail of her side of the room, she noticed a dark red box tied with a yellow ribbon. She looked over at her parents hesitantly, still wondering if it was for her to open.
"Open it, sweetie. It's for you," Brittany said smiling widely. Rachel gave a puzzles look to her wife, wondering when Brittany had the time to buy the girl a gift. She looked over and Santana and noticed she found a little box just like Quinn's on the side of her room.
"Can you open it?" Santana said shyly to Brittany, handing her the box. Quinn did the same to Rachel. She handed her the box and got close enough to see her open it for her.
Both women open the boxes. Santana saw that it was a silver necklace with a silver microphone attached to it. The microphone was outlined by a star.
"you wouldn't stop singing when you were here. I thought it would be perfect for you, baby girl. Our little superstar." Brittany said placing the necklace on Santana's neck. Santana held it in her fingers before tackling Brittany in hugs and kisses.
Rachel opened the box for Quinn, revealing also a silver necklace, but this one having Cinderella's pumpkin carriage attached to the thin chain.
"And this one is for out little princess," Rachel said softly, placing the necklace around the blonde's neck. Quinn began to cry at the sight before her. She and Santana finally got the family they've always dreamed of. And with these necklaces, it was a seeable object that confirmed that she was finally loved. She finally got her happy fairytale story.
