Lavi's eyes widened considerably before he placed a hand on Allen's forehead.

"Nope. You don't have a fever, alright buckle up kiddo we're taking you to school."

Allen deadpanned and squeezed Lavi's hand hard enough for the red head to wince in pain. "Ow! Allen, what the hell?!" He groaned and retracted his hand from the young boy's grip.

"I'm serious..." The younger responded. Lavi frowned and stared at Allen's grey eyes which were shining desperately. The red head gulped and averted his gaze. He didn't know why he was so hesitant now, when he had been wanting to do it so many times before. And it was just a kiss! Lavi had faked these so many times in his college years. It was then that realization hit him like a ton of bricks.

...Maybe because I've faked it so many times before...kissing was just too easy...because it was false. So maybe it's difficult this time...because it's something real.

He rubbed the back of his head and sighed, finally consenting.

"Alright..." He replied, leaning in close to the shorter male with half lidded eyes. Allen's expression had switched to one of overflowing relief as the silvery haired boy closed his eyes, a dash of pink dusting his cheeks. The red head cupped the boy's face and inched closer until their lips met in a soft chaste kiss.

Lavi then immediately retreated to the driver's seat, buckling his seat belt and starting the car. He then made a sound almost identical to Kanda's trademark "che" because he could feel his face had warmed up considerably. He was blushing...that was not something Lavi was used to. He was used to making other people blush and then afterwards relishing in the satisfaction of his deeds.

Since he had pulled away, he hadn't even looked at Allen. He was too embarrassed to anyway, I mean... What if he didn't like it?

For the first time in a long time, Lavi actually felt self conscious, and worst of all vulnerable. Even more so because the teen beside him had gone absolutely silent, though in actuality, Allen was trying to stop his heart from hammering out of his chest. The still 'green' young man kept stealing glances at Lavi to check his reaction, though was disappointed to see that his attention was trained on the road in an unwavering stare. He sighed quietly before fidgeting with his hands in his lap and elevating his arm to place a palm on his still beating heart.

There was no way that he would be focusing in class today.

As previously predicted, the school day was oh so tedious to Allen Walker. He would try his best to stay enraptured in the lesson, though found himself only able to focus for a few moments. Sooner or later, he'd end up daydreaming and drifting off somewhere above the clouds...that somewhere obviously being in the company of Lavi.

Him being such a daydreamer often earned him snickers from classmates, occasional poisonous looks from teachers, and this one time Kanda actually had to nudge him into consciousness. Finally, it was the last period of the day, the hardest one being that it was P.E.

"I'm starving!" Allen exaggerated and rubbed his stomach. Lenalee, who had been doing stretches next to him immediately sweatdropped.

"Didn't you say that Lavi took you out to eat just a little earlier?" The green haired girl found it hard to believe that he could be hungry again in just a couple hours. But then again, judging by how much he piles onto his plate at lunch time...

Allen tearfully nodded before joining Lenalee in her stretches. "I'm hungry again, I think it's cause I didn't have time for breakfast this morning." Allen spoke as he sat down in front of Lenalee cross legged on the gymnasium floor. People around them were also very active in the class period, performing multiple tasks for partner day. Lenalee held out her hands, gesturing that Allen should grab them. When he did, she pulled back as they sat in place, stretching Allen's legs and back.

"Ow, ow! I think something just cracked..." He whined, making Lenalee laugh. Then it was Allen's turn and he pulled her forward this time, stretching her pale limbs. She didn't whine, though her face was the epitome of discomfort as she realized how dangerously close she was to Allen's face. He noticed this and provided an awkward smile, one that Lenalee returned. Suddenly Allen smirked as a thought arose in his mind.

Wouldn't Kanda just love to be in his place? It's too bad he doesn't have gym this period~

Once they were finished with that, it was off to track. Allen shifted his weight from foot to foot as he waited for the whistle. As he stood there, his adrenaline increased drastically, almost at a pace in which it was pulsing.

"You ready?" Lenalee asked from beside him as she took her mark. She had never seen Allen run before, like seriously run. The Chinese girl was eager to see how such a small framed boy who ate enough food to clog an elephant's arteries, could fare in a footrace. Allen spotted the look she gave him and flashed a polite smile in return. Her face had said, 'I'm going to beat you.'

Now he didn't wanna brag or anything, but he was a pretty good runner. Pretty great actually. So he wasn't the slightest bit phased by Lenalee's unspoken declaration of victory.

The whistle blew, and Allen took off.

The look on Lenalee's face as the silver haired boy left her in the dust was almost magical. Her lips formed an 'o' shape and her eyebrows scrunched together, her pace immediately slowing to a jog before she stopped completely.

"O-Oh my God Allen!" She was unsure if he could even hear her from the distance that was between them. Suddenly the whistle blew again, which meant that both partners should be turning back. This made Lenalee yelp, she hadn't even reached the end of the first lap before Allen was already racing back to the start. It would be ridiculous to continue, it was obvious who had won. Instead she chose to watch the other teams of two who were sweating, panting, and struggling to make it back.

"Lenalee!" She snapped out of it when her name was called, flinching a bit when she saw that Allen was right in front of her. She looked him over, her eye twitching slightly to see that he was completely fine, taken aback by his lack of shortness of breath and sweat especially. "Y-Your stamina must be amazing! Allen...what are you?!" The grey eyed boy blinked, then blinked again several times before resting a hand on his stomach.

"Hungry."

"Hey, I'm here so we can get you that dessert I promised..." Lavi said uncomfortably and rubbed the back of his head. Allen stared at him like he had grown three heads, stopping at the bottom of the stairs that ascended to Black Order High. He stopped wiping his face with a towel after he changed in P.E and flinched when Lenalee appeared from behind him.

She observed that something was off about them, Allen was choked up and wouldn't speak while Lavi was quiet for a change. She stared between them for a while before finally speaking up. "What's up with you guys?" When she received no response, she smirked, deciding she'd tease them to lighten the mood. "Did you two get into a silly argument? Did you have an awkward first kiss or something?" They both froze, tensing up noticeably after she finished her sentence. Lenalee made a squeaking noise in the back of her throat and gripped her bag tighter.

No way? Did I just hit the nail on the head!? That's so...so...STUPIDLY CUTE! I can't believe they're acting like this over a kiss. But...I think I managed to make it even more awkward between them...

"Allen, weren't you complaining about being hungry during gym? You should go~" She lightly pushed him towards Lavi, making the already frazzled boy trip over his own feet and fall onto Lavi's chest with a yelp.

"W-Whoops..." Lenalee immediately retracted her hand with wide eyes. I think I just made it worse...dammit Lenalee! You're working against yourself, this ship must sail!

Suddenly, laughter permeated the air and Lenalee could only identify it as Lavi's. She looked towards him as his laughter grew cathartic, alleviating any awkwardness in the atmosphere.

Laughter is contagious. It's a known fact.

Pretty soon, all three individuals were laughing, letting out all their troubles for the moment. Allen had clutched his stomach and strayed from Lavi's grip, holding back the laughter that still threatened to escape his lips. Lavi had fallen backwards onto his car, a hand covering his eyes as he chuckled. Lenalee on the other hand giggled quietly and watched them with a merry expression. The thing that finally stopped the uncontrollable reaction was Allen's stomach making another low growl, causing the teen to blush while Lenalee and Lavi froze...before laughing more intensely than before.

"S-Stop it i'm gonna pee! Oh my God, Allen you have the best and worst timing!" Lavi said between laughter, wiping a visible tear from his eye. Allen could only blush harder and mumble something incoherent. Lenalee smiled before sighing at the odd couple before waving goodbye. "Seeya guys, Lavi, take Allen to get his dessert before he keels over."

"Not you too, Lenalee!" Allen wailed, retreating into the over sized hood of his sweater. "Quit picking on me..." Lavi snorted at Allen before waving back at Lenalee. He then ushered the still grumbling teen into his car. Allen watched as the red head entered on the driver's side, immediately buckling his seat belt. Allen looked down and ghosted a hand over his mouth.

He could not forget the feel of Lavi's lips on his own. It was forever etched into his consciousness.

"I didn't think you'd remember to take me out for dessert..." Allen started and averted his gaze to the window, watching as the car pulled out of the school's parking lot and went onto the road. His main reason for doing so was to get his mind off the kiss. Lavi shifted his eye to look at Allen before responding, "Well of course I did. I usually keep my promises..."

"You'd better!"

Lavi laughed before his face momentarily shifted to surprise. He then gripped his cellphone and put the car in park. "We're here Allen, but i'm gonna go ahead, I've got a phone call to make...be right back!" He announced, stepping out of the car and walking to a place that was out of Allen's sight.

"We're already here? Where is 'here' anyway...? " Allen mumbled to himself as Lavi had stepped out. When the white haired boy finally opened the door and stepped out into the fresh air, he was pleasantly surprised at his surroundings. They were at the park that Allen frequently passed by on his way to school. He had always walked past the beautiful scenery, wishing that he had the time to come here himself. He couldn't help the smile that crossed his face as his gaze fell over the tall green trees and numerous bushes that lined the pathway to the park's gate. A gentle breeze brushed through Allen's bangs as he looked in the direction that Lavi had walked, finding the red head leaning against a red brick building and tapping away at the buttons on his phone. Allen chose to join the other, and when he finally made his way over, he watched from the corner of his eye curiously but didn't say anything. Allen didn't even think he had noticed that he had come over to join him, but didn't question it.

Strangely at peace in the silence that followed, he closed his eyes as he followed Lavi's suit and leaned against the brick building. It was only a few minutes later that Lavi's elated voice intruded upon the quietness in the park. "All set. What about you Allen?" Lavi asked, looking directly at the young teen. Allen jumped a bit at the sudden loud tone, opening his eyes to the red head smiling next to him.

So he had noticed me...

In that moment, for whatever reason Allen could concoct in his mind...he finally realized something. Lavi was his, and he was Lavi's. It was just the way things were. He didn't need a kiss, or hug, or sentimental words to figure it out. It had taken just one meaningful look to make him think things through. After deciding all this in his mind, Allen hadn't even noticed that he was just standing there staring off into space. Lavi blinked when Allen didn't say anything for a while and pinched the boy's cheeks like an overly sentimental grandmother would. "You look like you've just had an epiphany, what happened to all the enthusiasm you had for dessert? Or are your cheeks still too red from the kiss for you to focus on your stomach?"

Lavi had said it jokingly. He was actually quite self conscious about what had transpired in the front seat of his car. Was he not forceful enough? Why couldn't he be all suave like those guys in movies? It felt like he chickened out to be honest. Allen deserved better. These thoughts rattled around in the English teacher's head until they gave him a headache. Although, one thing was for sure, he had to try again. He definitely had to show Allen at least something that resembled affection. He figured if they went back to the car and he took Allen some place nice for dessert, maybe he could have his second chance. At the moment however, what Lavi hadn't noticed was the embarrassment that showed bright red on Allen's cheeks as the white haired male punched him in the arm.

"I'm quite hungry, thank you." He responded indignantly. Lavi laughed nervously and nursed his arm, "O-Okay, well we should get going..."

Allen only blinked at the words Lavi uttered. "Why? I like it here, it's really beautiful." As if to prove his point, he gestured to the bright greens of the trees, the pinks and reds of the flowers, and the deep blue of the sky that painted the landscape of the park. Lavi couldn't deny it, this little park in the neighborhood was a sight to behold with it's myriad of colors, it looked very picturesque. However, he figured he could take Allen here again to make up for it. Right now, he was too preoccupied trying to get a second shot. He badly wanted to convey the jumbled feelings he had in a perfect kiss, one more meaningful than the last one in which he felt didn't get his point across at all.

Lavi pouted slightly before speaking again. "Well we're in a park...so unless you can find dessert here, i'd say we should get back to the ca-"

In the distance the monotonous yet all too familiar melody of the ice cream truck played full blast and the vehicle stopped at the sleek black gates to the park. Allen's grey eyes lit up in delight and he unconsciously pulled on Lavi's shirt like a child would their parent. Lavi caught the look in Allen's eyes and his eyebrow twitched. "Fine. Let's go get it..."

"Yay!"

Lavi sighed as Allen took his hand and dragged him down the small grassy hill of the park to the front gates.

Goddamn cock-blocking ice cream truck.
