Outside of a meeting room blocked off by large, metal, sliding doors, a bright flash occurred, Dylan, Paula, Regina, and Rick materialized, falling onto the floor.

"Ouch!" Paula cried out.

"Sorry, Paula," Dylan apologized. "If only these entrances weren't so painful."

Regina walked to the big doors and stopped. "Well, we're here," she stated. "Now, how do we get in there?"

Rick spotted the numbered keypad next to the doors. "Don't worry," he replied. "I am prepared for this." He walked over to the keypad.

"What are you doing?" Regina asked him.

"I looked up the code in order to gain access to the meeting room," Rick answered as he put in the correct code. He then pressed the blue, rectangular button beneath the keypad. "That should do it." He smiled.

Within seconds, the doors started to slide open slowly, revealing a corridor that led to a door to the meeting room.

Regina smiled. "I expect no less from a tech genius like you." She gave him a thumbs-up. "Excellent work."

Rick smiled. "It was nothing."

Regina and company quickly headed down the corridor and stopped before the door. Rick grabbed the door handle and opened the door.

Inside the operations room, there were large monitors on the walls that displayed various images of the Timegate. Many men and women in black uniforms adorned with badges sat around the central table, which displayed geographic maps of the United States. When Regina and the others entered the room, everyone who sat around the table looked at them. An awkward silence filled the room.

After a few moments, a man at the table stood up. "Who are you people, and why are you in here?" he asked Regina and her friends.

"It's an emergency, sir," Rick replied.

"Emergency?" he asked. "What emergency?"

"You really need to hear this," Rick answered, moving to the front of the room on his right. The others followed him.

"What are you doing?"

Regina handed Rick the USB drive. Rick located the control unit for one of the monitors and stuck the device inside. The monitor then showed a window containing several folders in the storage device. Rick touched the screen and selected one of the folders, opening a new window that contained various files. He selected the first one, and a video from Regina's second dinosaur-filled adventure started to play.

"What is this?" the man asked them.

Rick nodded to Regina, who began to explain the video.

From this point onward, Rick, Regina, and Dylan took turns opening and explaining the various pictures and videos in the flash drive. At one point, they showed Paula as evidence of the events that occurred.

The people sitting at the table were both intrigued and frightened at everything the time travelers were saying. When the mysterious quad was finished explaining their predicament, Rick closed all of the opened files and safely removed the flash drive from the monitor.

"And, now you see why we came hereā€”to stop this entire mess from occurring," Regina said.

"And, the only way to do that would be to stop you from conducting this research in the first place," Rick added.

"You can see that time travel is far too dangerous," Dylan voiced. "We should never have laid our hands on a toy so dangerous."

"Y-yes," Paula spoke.

A woman from the table spoke up. "I see," she said. "We don't dabble in time travel, and this whole mess will never happen."

"Exactly," Rick said.

Everyone at the table leaned close to each other and whispered about the current situation. Regina and the others nervously waited for them to state their thoughts. The heads of S.O.R.T. leaned back into their chairs, and another man stood up. "All right," he stated. "We have made up our minds."

"What will you do?" Regina asked him.

"We won't go through with the research," the man answered her.

"Really?" Dylan inquired.

"Yes," the man replied. "You have convinced us that it is too costly to conduct this research."

"That's great!" Rick exclaimed. "Now, this whole mess will never happen!"

Regina, Dylan, and Paula smiled at him.

Another woman stood up. "I have one question, though," she questioned Rick.

"Yes?" Rick answered.

"Since the time-travel blunder will not occur in the future, doesn't that mean that you and your friends will disappear?"

Rick nodded. "We will vanish from existence, but the past versions of me, Regina, and Dylan will continue to live. Paula wasn't born yet, so we don't know what will happen to her, but there is still a possibility of her being born in the future."

The woman's facial expression became lugubrious. "So, you're not worried?"

"We had to do this for the entire human race. Too many lives have been lost. If saving the world involves the sacrifice of a few people, then so be it."

Everyone at the table almost cried when they heard Rick's words of altruism.

"Do not grieve for us. We want you to be happy."

"Thank you," the chieftains of S.O.R.T. said.

"You're welcome," Regina, Rick, Paula, and Dylan replied in unison, smiling. They all turned towards each other.

"Good-bye, Rick, Dylan, and Paula," Regina said.

"Good-bye, Regina, Dylan, and Paula," Rick stated.

"Good-bye, Regina, Rick, and Paula," Dylan said.

"G-good-bye, R-Regina, R-Rick, and P-Papa," Paula uttered.

After a few moments of silence, the four time-travellers began to fade away slowly. The leaders of S.O.R.T. looked at them in amazement as they were being erased from existence. "Good-bye!" the uniformed people said to them, waving.

"Good-bye!" Regina, Rick, Dylan, and Paula responded, waving back.

After a few seconds, the quad completely disappeared from existence, leaving a blinding flash in their wake. The directors of S.O.R.T. turned away to avoid damaging their retinas, but when they looked at the front of the room, the four individuals were gone.

As predicted, the incident in Dr. Kirk's base and the human crisis never occurred. Humanity was finally safe, thanks to the four heroes and heroines.

Several years into the future, a girl was born to Dylan Morton and his wife in a hospital.

"What should we name her?" the wife asked her husband.

"Let's call her 'Paula,'" Dylan replied. "I really like that name for some reason."

"Very well," his wife responded, looking at Paula. "Did you hear that? Your name is Paula!"

Paula stopped her crying and looked at her mother. She then smiled.

"We're all one, big, happy family," Dylan commented.

"I couldn't agree more," his wife declared, smiling at her husband. "I couldn't agree more."
