New Orleans. Marcel. Niklaus. A family.
Elijah sighed as he tried to mentally list down the facts that kept him from running back to Mystic Falls. To Katherine.
It had been barely a month since he left and already he was at his wit's end. He brushed his concern off as paranoia. After all, what could possibly happen to Katherine? A 500 year old vampire, with hundreds of people under her compulsion. Sure the Gilbert girl was there, as was the Salvatore brothers, but they would be no match for Katherine.
He smile as he remembered her temper, her stubbornness. Again he shook his head. He was supposed to be focusing on keeping Hayley safe, not dreaming about Katherine's soft, dark hair.
Besides, wasn't dreaming about her in the night enough? Did she have to haunt him in the day too?
She would be fine. She was Katherine. Nothing could harm her. So why was he worried?
She could take care of herself.
Elijah never realized how wrong he was.
