Chapter 29: Kagome gives birth

Sesshomaru stood off with Kagome for a moment before she disappeared. He followed wondering where she was going to take this. Pinpointing her location, he appeared before her. She was sitting on the statue that she had made for him awhile back. Her legs dangled off his head as she playfully breathed fire out into the sky. He didn't shy away from her flames as they didn't bother him. With ease, she stood up before jumping off at the statue causing a crack to form. She extended her claws prepared to take him out. Taking a deep breath, he side stepped her missing her claws. She recovered and moved to kick him midair. He moved like water against her attacks. Hitting her was out of the question. She was in labor. For the sake of their son, he wouldn't touch her. But he had to find a way to pin her down enough to make her submit. Then an idea popped up into his head. A sinister smile played across his lips.

Kagome was growing relentless in her pursuit to actually land a blow on her mate. Just as she reached in to punch him, he grabbed her wrist only to pull her into his chest where he kissed her cheek sweetly. She paused at the sensation for a moment before she pushed him away. Growling at him, she rushed in to give him a barrage of punches. Sesshomaru still moved like water against them. Sneaking in kisses where he saw openings seemed to be his way of dealing with her violence. She often times paused at the feeling it was given her. Once she was paused long enough, he grabbed her hand while pulling her close. Twirling her around, he moved them about like they were dancing. She picked her feet up to kick him but with ease, as always, it was blocked with his own foot or knee. He forced her to spin out for a moment before he twirled her back in where he pushed his youki onto her own. The wild youki that was running rampant jumped at the feeling of his. It caressed his for a moment before it seemed to push it off. He forced it to go back onto it and hold on.

Their vicinity remained close as Kagome began to heat up. The fire started at their feet quickly building up onto their bodies. She tried to pull herself free from his grasp but Sesshomaru would have none of it. He tightened his hands only to bring her in for a deep sensual kiss. Her eyes widened as he poured everything he had into the kiss between them. The fire began to spiral around but it wasn't burning. Her youki was overpowered as it was made to submit. She kissed him back at the draw back of her instincts. In a burst of gold, their son announced that he was okay as well.

"Are you well?" Sesshomaru asked almost breathless from their kiss.

"I think so. I think your son is ready to greet us as well." She panted back from the loss of breath from the kiss and as well as their son pushing his way to her birthing canal.

Sesshomaru picked her up as the flames dissipated. He quickly made his way back to the castle on his cloud. She rested her head on his shoulder as her hands tried to soothing their little one.

"What are you going to name him?" Sesshomaru asked.

"We'll have to see once he's born. We know he's our golden child. I just want to name him when I see him so I can make sure it's right." Kagome nodded rolling her neck from her contractions.

"He already is surprising us." He smiled down at his mate.

Kauhn, Kale, and Shippo paced outside the room waiting for the birth of the boy. It was rather quiet for someone who was supposed to be giving birth. All of them had expected there to be some yelling or cussing, even some animal noises but there was nothing. Kauhn thought back to his mate giving birth. She was rather loud and angry at him for putting her through it. But by the end, she was so in love with Kagome and him that she cried for twenty minutes straight. He wondered if she would have the same reaction she did to Kagome as she would their unborn. The three male demons just stared at each other quietly only for the youngest of the three to break the silence.

"What do you think he'll be like?" Shippo asked looking up at Kauhn.

Kauhn smiled. "More than likely like his mother."

Kale shook his head. "Two pure hearts in this world? How will anything survive in darkness?" He had an endearing smile on his face.

"I think that's a good thing." Shippo nodded. "Mother is danger prone so he'll need to protect her like the rest of us."

The two older demons laughed.

"That's not fair."

Everyone turned to see Kagome holding a bundle in her hands. She pouted slightly at their words as Sesshomaru stood behind her for support.

"You gave birth already?"

Everyone turned to see Rin and a young Inuyasha looking on in curiosity.

"What can I say? Your brother was ready to greet the world." Kagome shrugged a proud smile on her face.

"Well what is my grandchild's name?" Kauhn asked rising from his sitting position.

"Kin." Sesshomaru nodded.

"The one of precious values… fitting." Kale sighed standing to look at his great nephew.

"Can I hold him?" Kauhn asked lowly.

"Of course." Kagome smiled placing the small child into her dad's awaiting arms.

Kauhn held the bundle careful. He gently pulled back the blanket to see a pale shadow covered in a gold aura looking up at him in wonderment. Kauhn let out a little sigh in endearment as those golden eyes of his father shined like bright little suns. The moon and dino print engraved in his forehead darkly contrasted with his pale skin. He could sense the presence of stripes under his skin waiting for him to get older. Smiling brightly at the little one, he inserted a clawed finger into his tiny hand. Kin gripped it excitedly.

"My, he has a firm grip."

"That's because he's happy to see you." Kagome smiled resting on her dad's shoulder.

Kin smiled looking up at his grandfather.

Inuyasha sighed as he turned to go back down the long hallway in which he had come. She may have saved his life from the evil dino but she had her own responsibilities now. He paused at the feeling of being lifted. In the gold of the young child he was brought and placed in his brothers hands. The older demon looked down at the younger hanyou only to bring him in for a hug. Inuyasha held onto him tightly as his older brother assured him that he was going to be there for him forever. Kagome joined in on the hug as did Shippo and Rin. All them held him tightly.

Kauhn looked over at his brother. "When are you going to have one of your own?"

Kale looked down at the boy. His hands talon gently brushed against the boy's face inciting a happy noise from the child. "When I find the right one." He nodded.

The two older demons looked at the family before them.

"It is good to have you back."

"We owe it to him."
