AN: Heeey gu- *Slapped by a banana* I-I'm sorry if I haven't updated for a while. Although I got the plot laid out, words won't come out of my sushi brain. Welp. Somewhat, somehow, I managed.

Also, thank you for the follows and faves and all those reviews~ Even a simple "Update please" enlightens me to continue writing. I don't really reply because it all piled up so much, but I assure you: I do read them. So thank you. Again.

You can ignore this stupidly composed AN, and go ahead and read all the stuff I managed to squeeze out of my brain… QmmQ

You can also expect an update on my other story and probably a new fic… I know, I'm trash.

Warnings: Not beta-ed, expect typos and some grammatical errors here and there, is written by a sushi-brained potato; you have been warned, dearies.

NOTE THAT HERE, MOMOI CAN COOK. She was taught by the maids in her persistence of wanting to be Tecchan's personal maid.

Chapter 12: A New Day

"You called, Father?" Tetsuya meekly peeks behind the door of his father's study.

"Yes," the older Kuroko confirms as he urges his son to sit on the couch in front of his desk. "It is quite important."

Tetsuya nods before he sits on the couch. It has been three months since he returned home from the kidnapping incident, and two weeks after his tutor in music class finally came back, much to Akashi's dismay. He had been tailing his father in various gatherings, meetings, and even celebratory occasions that only did so much as blind him from all the camera flashes and reporters. "It is to make your existence well-known, that you are my son, and the person who shall inherit all of these." He remembers his father's words idly.

"Tetsuya, what do you think about… School?" the blunette did not miss his father's pause. It was as if he was contemplating if he should bring up the topic.

"School? Isn't it just the same as home school? Except that you are to be with various kinds of people, as well as participate in tiring activities. As long as I get to learn, I'm content. My senseis are good too…"he explains.

Tetsuya had never been to a real school, and he knows that he is not the type to socialize. Not to mention Physical Education which his father forbade, because of his asthma and weak immune system. "Why do you ask, Father?" That is why his father– who forbade him to do strenuous activities (much less go out of the household) – suddenly asking him about his opinion about school really piqued his curiosity.

"It has been on my mind lately, I think enrolling you into a proper school would be of benefit to you."

"Benefit?"

"Indeed, you need to socialize. Human interaction is best for a growing man like you, and it would increase your reputation." The older Kuroko presses.

"But Kise-kun and the others come by here often, don't they?" Tetsuya reasons, he knows where this is going to. He isn't totally against the idea, but after being cooped up in the house for almost 16 years, he finds it frightening. He does go out once in a while, but in his whole life, he could count the number of people he held a conversation with. "What if they don't like me? What if I get bullied because I am weak? Would I be able to talk normally around many people?"

"True, I can see that they are good friends*; but Tetsuya, you know yourself that in order to grow in the society, your peers should expand."

Tetsuya kept quiet. His father only stared at him with warmth, he knows, he's thinking about this seriously. After the long silence, Tetsuya sighs.

"This is for my own good, right?" Tetsuya looks up to stare directly at his beloved father. He smiles. "If that's what Father thinks, then I do not mind going."

His father wraps his son's lithe figure in his arms, his right hand patting the locks that begun to spring out on all directions. But Tetsuya didn't mind. He truly is lucky to have a caring father.

"I already have the perfect school in mind." His father assures.

"Of course, you always know what's best for me." Tetsuya returns the hug.

After the talk with his father, Kuroko proceeded with his activities on a Saturday morning. He made his way into their library as usual, and read a book about the Japanese History as an advanced study for Hyuuga-sensei's lessons. Although it might be quite pointless now, since he is about to attend a private school. Nonetheless, Japanese History will always be an enjoyable topic for him. His peaceful siesta was then broken when he hears the oh-so-familiar wail of one dog named Kise Ryouta.

"Kurokocchiiii~!" the blond puppy glomps Tetsuya from behind, almost covering his entire being with the model's. "I missed y—OW!" Kise's sentence was cut off when his model face was hit by a book.

"Kise-kun you're heavy." Kuroko simply comments "…And weren't you here yesterday? Don't you have a shoot?"

"So mean," Kise fake sobs. "It got cancelled, so I came to see you!" Kise states as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. It probably is, for him.

"Yo, Tetsu," another voice greets followed by a ruffle on the smaller one's teal hair. It doesn't take a genius for Kuroko to know who that is. Only one person calls him Tetsu anyways "Still reading boring books as usual."

"Good day, Aomine-kun. What brings you here?" Kuroko greets in his usual polite tone.

"I'm here too!" Kise wails.

"I was in the area after a game of street basketball. 'Maybe I'll go visit Tetsu''s what I thought. Besides, haven't seen you for a while."

"I see." Kuroko acknowledges

"Uwuuhhh… Why is everybody so mean to me?" Kise sulks.

Kuroko felt a little guilty seeing the blonde pout instead of his usual crying antics. He called the blondes attention and smiled at him—but he regretted it when he Kise once again wails his name and lunges at him intending to give him a bear hug. Before Kise could reach him though, a hand clutched on Kise's head.

"Eh?"

"Kise-chin, if you crush Kuro-chin Im'ma crush you."

Kise wails saying his head is breaking, but the hand still remained there.

"Mornin', Kuro-chin." The purple-haired giant greets. In his other hand. He was cupping a generous amount of treats and cupcakes.

"Hello, Murasakibara-kun." Kuroko replies as if the blonde was suddenly non-existent yet again. "Um… Is that from our pantry?" he adds.

"Mhm," Murasakibara confirms "Sacchin gave them to me, saying she made them for practice."

Kuroko could only chuckle. He was relieved that Momoi is getting along with his friends. Of course gaining Momoi's approval was the same as a mother acknowledging his choice of friends. So it made him happy. "I see."

"Anyway, it seems that all of you have some business here. It is quite doubtful that you three are here by purely coincidence." The blunette presses.

Aomine grabs a chair and sits beside Kuroko, the two following Aomine's actions, with Kise on the other side of the smaller male, and Murasakibara in front.

"Hahaha, observant as ever!" Aomine lilts "Well, Akashi said something about you attending school, and…"

"We wanted to know how you would fare with it~" Kise continues earning an annoyed glare from the tanned male.

"How in the world did Akashi-kun know of that?" Kuroko thought. Seriously, aside from his almighty eyes, he might be even have the devil's ears.

"Where would Kuro-chin be attending?"

"To be honest Murasakibara-kun, even I do not know yet. My father only mentioned that he had found the perfect school, but he did not mention the name."

"Eeehh, I hope Kurokocchi will attend the same school with me, then, then, then, we'd be classmates, then we'd eat lunch together~" the blonde fantasizes.

"You mean us, you dolt." Aomine retorts, completely ruining Kise's sparkly, imagination paradise.

"Eh? Both of you go to the same school?" Kuroko asks, intrigued.

"Not just both of us. This guy," Aomine points at Murasakibara who was now finishing his last cupcake, "Midorima, and Akashi too."

"I see." Kuroko mumbles. Despite his unreadable expression, deep inside he felt jealous. The five were his closest friends, and probably the only friends he made since he was five. He felt as if he did not belong in the group, although he knew that the others did not treat him as that. He really prays that whatever school they are attending to, he'd be enrolling there too.

"Does that mean that all of you are attending Teiko too?"

"Yep~" Kise confirms, "Aominecchi is tho only one in the basketball team, I don't have a club since I model, Midorimacchi is in the Library Committee, Murasakibaracchi is in the Home E.C., and Akashicchi is the Student Council Pres~" the blonde then narrates their activities there, along with Aomine's stupid side comments and occasional muttering of the purple-head wanting more food.

If you were a normal person, you would think that the blonde was only muttering nonsense, because the latter seemed uninterested; but the three knew him long enough to notice the sparkle in his eyes.

Earlier, he was anxious. Who would've thought that his friends could affect him so much? Kuroko was looking forward to school now, although he still hoped that he would be in the same school as them.

Omake

Akashi was busying himself arranging papers when he heard a knock on the door.

"Come in, Shintarou." He says, as usual, he already knew who the person was without even a hint of voice.

"You are difficult as usual, Akashi." The green-head simply replies, adjusting his glasses on the bridge of his nose.

"Good morning to you too." The redhead chuckles.

"I heard about the thing with Kuroko."

If earlier, Akashi had his attention on the papers, he was now looking at the green-head, clearly intrigued.

"What about Tetsuya?"

"Playing dumb isn't suitable for your character." Midorima scoffs.

"Hoh? And what might be suitable for my character then, Shintarou?" Akashi's eyes gleam as he presses the word, Midorima could only stiffen on his spot as he looks away from the scrutinizing eyes of the Emperor. "But you are right." He continues before placing a folder for the other to see.

Midorima picks up the neat folder and proceeds to read it. His eyes widen before looking at Akashi unbelievingly.

"All I did was coax Kuroko-san about my preferences about socializing." Akashi shrugs with a smirk, as if he was not expecting the older Kuroko's decision.

"How cunning." Midorima mumbles.

Extra: *Good friends… Hahaha, if only you knew, Kuroko-san. *Facepalm*

Hiya again~ Welp the omake turned out to be something that isn't really an omake. But yeah, we all know that Akashi is always behind things like making his waifu stay with him. /slapped

I'm not planning for a canon-ish scenario where they are all basuke junkies and Kuroko being the 6th man and stuff. Nopedy-nope. You'll just have to wait for another dorky chapter.
