Chapter Eleven: Slow Recovery

Kagome smiled when she saw Sesshoumaru waiting for her as soon as she was released. "Take it easy for a few days Kagome-chan. We don't need you back in here ok?" Dr. Yamada said. "Hai I will. Sorry for worrying you. Thank you for your care of my mother too." Kagome agreed with a sheepish look on her face. "Make sure you eat and sleep properly." Dr. Yamada said. "Hai. I will." Kagome replied. "We will make sure she follows instructions." Sesshoumaru said firmly. Kagome looked away and nodded. "If anyone can do it, he can." She agreed. Dr. Yamada laughed and headed back into the hospital.

"Before you say a word, I want to explain my actions. My mother was worth being admitted and when I get my hands on Kouga, I'm going to do what I should have done when I first laid eyes on him. Purify him until there's nothing left but ash." Kagome said as soon as Sesshoumaru opened his mouth to scold her in the car. Sesshoumaru's mouth closed silently and he nodded.

"What the hell were you thinking Kagome?! You trying to get yourself killed or something?! What if you hadn't been at the hospital?!" Inuyasha let loose with both barrels as soon as she came through the door. Kagome sighed tiredly. "So much for doctor's orders." She muttered. Sesshoumaru looked displeased at his younger brother but didn't say anything as Kagome headed for the couch. "Are you listening to me?!" Inuyasha demanded. Kagome turned to her friend and glared. "How could I not? You're loud enough to wake the dead! My mother was worth every ounce of suffering I have gone through these past few days! She didn't deserve what was done to her! I don't need a lecture dog boy! I'm going to follow my doctor's orders and I will be fine!" She snapped. Kagome sank down onto the couch tiredly and closed her eyes for a moment. "Kouga murdered my mother. I couldn't just leave her. She had nothing to do with how things went down and he purposely hurt her because it would hurt me. And it worked. I am devastated but most of all I'm pissed. So leave me alone and let me rest so that I can be in top form when I destroy his whole stupid world." She yawned.

Sesshoumaru smirked silently. "That wolf. He is a particular brand of stupid is he not? Messing with this particular girl was inviting suffering upon his person." He said. Inuyasha nodded. "Yeah. Kagome just looks cute and innocent. Under all that sweet is a core of pure evil." He agreed. Sesshoumaru's smirk widened. "It will be entertaining to see it in action no? So far she has been rather...docile." He commented. Inuyasha shuddered. "I pray she never finds out but that girl terrifies me." He mumbled. Sesshoumaru chuckled lowly. "I will enjoy seeing her more...scary side come out." He said.
