Ok, so I'm starting a new story, sorry all those who want me to continue 'No One Left', the story is not abandoned, I just have writers block, and I really want to write a Percy Jackson story.
So, this story is sorta AU what happens is, when the gods came to America, they changed some things, they stopped having so many kids, they took lovers without getting them pregnant, and they cared more about their kids. That is not the main focus of the story though, the main focus is that the gods found the Percy Jackson series, and now they are going to read it. I am going to try and do the whole series, and some things won't be explained until later (like Samata). Some of the demigods from Percy Jackson's world might come in in this story, they will come eventually, I just don't know when yet.
This story is rated M only to give me the freedom to write whatever I want and not have to care about going over the rating, though it is likely that there will be M rated content at some point. I will try and update as often as I can, and cause I already have the main idea's for this story in my head, so I know basically where this story is going, I just don't know the details yet.
So, disclaimer- I do not yet own the rights to Percy Jackson, but I asked Santa for them for Christmas!
Poseidon had been browsing the bookstore when he saw it. And yes, you heard me right; Poseidon, god of the Sea, who disliked reading, who was an enemy of the goddess of wisdom, was in a bookstore. He was only looking for a book on fish, but not just any fish; a walking fish! It was a new theory he had heard, that fish were evolving and that they may one day soon learn to walk.
Poseidon thought the theory quite amusing, but he wanted to read up on it anyways. Plus, it gave him a reason to not stay long at the Winter Solstice, which happened to be coming up this weekend. And if the book didn't work, he could always actually have some of his fish walk; that would defiantly cut the meeting short.
As Poseidon was walking up to the checkout he saw it, at first glance it looked like just a book, for that was exactly what it was, but it was what was written on the book that was the problem. On the book was the title 'The Heroes of Olympus, The House of Hades'. Under this book was what appeared to be the rest of the series.
'The Heroes of Olympus, The Lost Hero', 'The Heroes of Olympus, The Son of Neptune', and 'The Heroes of Olympus, The Mark of Athena'.
Poseidon immediately got the attention of someone who worked at the store.
"Excuse me, but, um, what is this?" Poseidon kindly asked a pretty female worker, reminding himself to get her number when he was done.
"That? Thats the Heroes of Olympus series. It was a sequel series to the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series," the lady explained, "Haven't you heard of it," she asked, at Poseidon's confused expression.
"Um, no, could you should me where I could find it?"
The lady happily showed the way to the back of the store and pulled out a set of five books. "This is them, 'The Lightning Thief' is the first, followed by 'The Sea of Monsters', then 'The Titans Curse', then 'The Battle of the Labyrinth', and last is 'The Last Olympian'. It's a truly amazing series for all ages, even though the author wrote it for children."
"Oh?" Poseidon said, "Whats it about?"
The lady, who Poseidon noticed was named Lidia, turned the book over and handed it to him, so that he could read the back.
'After getting expelled from yet another school for yet another clash with mythological monsters only he can see, twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is taken to Camp Half-Blood, where he finally learns the truth about his unique abilities: He is a demigod, half human, half immortal. Even more stunning: His father is the Greek god Poseidon, ruler of the sea, making Percy one of the most powerful demigods alive. There's little time to process this news. All too soon, a cryptic prophecy from the Oracle sends Percy on his first quest, a mission to the Underworld to prevent a war among the gods of Olympus.'
What was the meaning of this? Poseidon didn't have any kids named Percy Jackson, and he never had. Not to mention the fact that he almost never had kids that had only spent a little while training with Chiron, they usually spent months at least, though usually years training.
Could this book be one of the ones that had been written by potential Oracles? Potential Oracles sometimes were able to write things that happened in the future, and every once in a while they would write it as a story and sell it. But Poseidon had gone several hundred years without having any Demigod children; the last he had sired had been William Shakespeare in 1564, and the last he had adopted was Samata in 1829. After the disaster with Samata he wasn't planning on having any more kids.
But maybe he was thinking about this wrong; this book didn't have to be real, for all he knew one of the other gods was doing this as a prank or revenge or just to get him upset. The getting him upset option was looking the most likely, for Poseidon had a very hard time with his children dying, it was why he had stopped having kids, he just couldn't take losing them so soon, and the kid was obviously dead, the living were never referred to as demigods, only Heroes.
Poseidon stared at the back of the book for several minutes before he was snapped back to reality by Lidia.
"Sir," Lidia asked, shaking Poseidon's shoulder, "Are you okay?"
"What, yes I'm fine," Poseidon answered a bit too quickly, "I think I'd like to take this book too."
As he was checking out Poseidon barely paid attention to what was going on, still caught up in what was with this book, he didn't even remember to get Lidia's phone number.
Once Poseidon was out of the book store he hurried to Olympus, he had to find out if this was a prank. He didn't know whether he wanted it to be or not, if it was a prank, then it would mean nothing would happen, but if it wasn't, then he might get a son. 'But not for long,' a voice in his head said, 'He'll die soon just like all the others, and thats only if he is even real.'
Ok, so what do you think? I know it's not to long, but this is the prologue. So please review and tell me what you think, also, constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
