There was a single light Iilluminating the room. Glasses propped up on his nose, Daniel Rafferty scribbled on paper as he worked on his next book.

He preferred the feel of paper and pen for the initial stages of his draft.

His wife sleeping on his chest, he pressed a kissed to Audrey's head as his brow furrowed, pondering a certain section.

Done not long after, he reached to his side and placed his work on the bedside table.

Turning the lamp off, he eased further under the covers, his wife automatically adjusting to snuggle in and wrap herself around him.

It amused him to no end that Audrey was cuddler, hugger and all things close in the privacy of her home.

Holding her close, he pressed one final kiss to her crown before he entered slumberland.

Life was good..
