"Wait, you said mission?" Renji stepped in the conversation between Jiraiya and Naruto. "There's a hollow here?!"
"I haven't sensed a hollow..." Rukia added.
"What? There are no hollows and you guys aren't-" Naruto stopped and smiled. Yes! I can finally ditch these guys! D-rank mission or not. It means an escape from these guys and him... he thought to himself.
"Naruto, they're going with you." Jiraiya interjected Naruto's thoughts.
"W-what?" He felt like he just heard Ichiraku Ramen had gone out of business.
"You need to take them with you. I have a mission of my own to go to."
"B-but pervy-sage-"
"Also, Naruto," He leaned in closer and whispered, "keep an eye out. The last thing we want right now is for you to get captured, the Akatsuki are still on the loose. Your friends will keep you company in any case."
"Fine and they're not my friends." He muttered under his breath.
"Now if you'll excuse me," He stopped looking at Naruto and saw a woman in a dress with big breasts walking, "Research calls!" He guffawed and ran behind the woman.
...
"Are we there yet?" Ichigo was getting restless.
"No, we are not! Now quit your complaining and keep walking!" Naruto yelled in annoyance and started ranting in his mind about how he was stuck with this bothersome task.
"Jeez, what's wrong with him?" Ichigo asked pleased that he was annoying the yellow-haired idiot. He knew why he was annoyed, this had been the fifth time he asked that question in the last twenty minutes. He just liked to annoy the boy.
"I don't know Ichigo, maybe because this is the hundredth time you asked that!" Rukia yelled at Ichigo, also quite annoyed with her friend. "He has so kindly agreed to take us on this mission to the Village Hidden in the Hot Water, so be grateful!" She finished her rant.
"She's right, Ichigo." Chad added.
"I thought it was the Village Hidden in the Water." Renji put in.
"It is?" Rukia stared at the red-haired man in confusion.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure."
"No, it's not." Rukia argued back. As they both argued about who was right Ichigo sighed in relief that he was not a part of that.
Orihime decided it would be a good idea to ask Naruto before the arguing got messier. "Um... Uzumaki-kun, where are we going?" she asked him sweetly. Naruto now interrupted from the rant in his mind, he looked up at Orihime and began to explain his mission again.
"Like I said before, for this mission I have to visit The Village Hidden in Hot Water-" Naruto was interrupted from his explanation to by Rukia
"Aha! I knew I was right!" She cheered.
"Yeah, whatever." Renji said a little upset that he was wrong.
"As I was saying, I have to visit there to get a package for granny Tsunade." Naruto finished his explanation.
"If it's not to much trouble can we know what it is we need to retrieve?" Uryu asked a little suspicious about this so called mission they were doing. There is no way they would just let us go on a mission willingly with a ninja. They're planning something, but what is it? He wondered.
"Don't know. I was just told that I have to protect it with my life." Naruto answered a little curious himself on what that so valuable thing was that he had to retrieve.
"Protect it with your life? Wow, it must be really important then." Renji said also curious.
"Ooh! I wonder what it is? It's probably something really amazing! Like a robot cyborg!" Orihime chimed.
"I'm pretty sure they don't have robots here, Orihime. It's probably something like some cool ninja weapon." Ichigo corrected the girl.
"You're wrong. If it's so important for you to risk your life then it's obviously a giant chappy!" Rukia exclaimed.
"What the heck's a chappy?" Naruto raised an eyebrow at Rukia.
"You shouldn't have asked that, Naruto." Renji groaned.
"What? You don't know what a chappy is?!" Rukia's eyes glistened as she explained to Naruto about artificial souls and gigai.
Rukia and Naruto were still talking when Uryu stopped abruptly and Ichigo oblivious stopped too.
"What'd you stop, Uryu? He asked the quincy.
"There's someone in the trees." Uryu replied trying to see from his standpoint to no avail.
Everyone was now paying attention to Uryu.
"Who's there?!" He called out.
Nothing was heard but the rustling of leaves as a gust of wind passed by then silence. Uryu was sure he heard someone step on a leaf on the forest floor. All were attentive at the vast terrain of trees in front of them. Naruto held a kunai in his hand.
Meow. A cat jumped out of a couple of bushes startling everyone.
"Wow! Really Uryu all that for a cat!" Ichigo was annoyed.
Naruto rolled his eyes and put his kunai in a pouch on his back and then stopped and took it again. "Wait. There's no cats here." He threw his kunai into the trees.
"Ow!" They heard someone yell.
"Who's there?" Naruto demanded.
"Shut up, dimwit!" someone whispered from inside the trees.
Ichigo held on to the hilt of his sword. Excited for some action.
"I said who's there?! Show yourself!" Naruto raised his voice.
The leaves rustled again and then silence.
"We are the Aksuki!" a voice spoke after a couple minutes of silence.
"You idiot! It's Akatsuki!" another voice spoke.
Three men in long red cloaks with black crudely painted clouds appeared.
