Rose and Scorpius parted ways on High Street. They couldn't risk being seen with each other. So Scorpius made his way to Gladrags, Rose to the Three Broomsticks. It was very cold, and without Scorpius's arm around her, holding her close, she felt very cold. The warmth of the Three Broomsticks was inviting. She made her way up to the counter where the curvy barmaid, though her hair was graying she still looked lovely, was passing out Butterbeer, one of which Rose ordered. Unfortunately, Ralphie Hank decided to order one at the exact same time. Rose avidly avoided him. He liked her. And asked her out a lot. Rose always refused. He was utterly geeky and creepy; curly weird blackish hair, medium skin, braces. Dorky, weird, stalker material.
"Hi, Rose." Rose inwardly groaned.
"Uhhh...hi?" She racked her brains for a quick escape. "I need the bathroom." She lied, dashing away and out the door with her bottle of butterbeer. In her haste she accidentally bumped into Lily. She was...crying?
"Rose, I know I'm your least favorite cousin, but I need a voice of reason, please."
Rose looked skeptical but sighed and agreed, allowing Rose to drag her into a secluded corner of bushes. "Rose, I'm pregnant."
"YOU'RE WHAT?!" Rose gasped. Lily, Harry Potter's baby girl, got herself knocked up?
"I know, I know." Sobbed Lily. As much as Rose hated her, she had to help. Family is family.
"Keep or abort? Who's the father? Does Aunt Gin know? If not how'll you tell them?"
"I don't know, Liam, no, thats why I need you!"
"First, does Liam know?"
"Yes. And he broke up with me." Lily cried, mascara-y tears streaking down her lightly freckled cheeks.
"Damn. Well, how do you wanna do this? Abort it? You're 15!"
"I- I can't!" She wailed.
"Okay, so keep. Telling your Mum'll be the real trick. She'll freak."
"I KNOW!" Sobbed Lily. "I'm fucked."
"More like you fucked."
"Rose!"
"Sorry!"
"What am I supposed to do? Do I talk to Madam Pomfrey? Do I tell anyone? Oh MERLIN. You can't tell Al! You CAN'T."
"Lily, we have to look at this rationall-"
"I DON'T WANT RATIONAL! I DON'T WANT THIS AT ALL!" Lily burst out.
"Look, Lils," Lily sniffled but stopped wailing. " You are going to go write a letter to your parents, I'll write one to Uncle Harry. Okay? Just, stay calm."
"They freaked out when they found out YOU were just snogging Scorpius, and you're not even their kid!" Rose forced herself to take soothing breaths.
"Everything will be alright, just calm down. Let's go." And Rose helped Lily clean up her smudgy makeup and troop back up to the castle. After an hour, Rose and Lily had composed two letters each. Lily writing one to her parents, and one to Teddy, asking for help. Rose wrote one to Uncle Harry, and one to Aunt Ginny; each were rather long, explaining the scenario and how she personally thinks it should be looked at. Lily burst into tears the moment the owls left the Owlrey.
"Is-is this how it felt whe-when you had to tell your m-mum about you and S-c-c-corpius?" Lily hiccuped.
"Like it was the end of the world as I knew it? Yes." Rose sighed.
"You..you really love him don't you?"
Rose nodded, idly playing with a feather from a barn owl. "Since we're sharing secrets, do you think that maybe you could keep one for me?"
Lily gave her a watery smile and nodded through the tears. "Me and Scorpius are still dating. Secretly."
"But..but your parents!"
"I don't give a damn about my parents. I know I sound all anger and rebellious, but honestly, didn't they want to overcome prejudice?! This turning the tables, shaming purebloods, for the things their messed up parents did. I wouldn't care if Voldemort himself was Scorpius's dad. I love him and if my parents are too naive to see it, then well thats just too bad for them." And from then on Lily and Rose were friends. Rose still thought Lily was a bit of a callgirl, Lily still got upset because Rose was dating Scorpius, but family is family.
Rose crept back into Scorpius's bedroom around 2:30. He was sitting up in bed but was quite obviously asleep so, giggling quietly, Rose conjured a marker and wrote in big letters across his chest "I LOVE ROSE". She was admiring her handiwork when there was a knock on the door. Panicking, she dove under the bed, as Scorpius hopped off the bed and cracked open it door. It was Albus. Rose heard Scorpius sigh and open the door, letting Albus in. Heart beating madly, Rose tried to come up with a good reason as to why she was currently under Scorpius's bed, and why Scorpius had "I LOVE ROSE" written across his chest, but nothing came to mind.
"Mate, I get that you like Rose an' all but..seriously.."
"What? Are you honestly here to tell me I can't date her?"
"No..I'm just saying this is a little far.."
"We aren't doing anything, when we hang out at night, we just talk and stuff."
"You hang out at night? What?"
"What? Isn't that why you're here?"
"No..I came to tell you something but got distracted by "I LOVE ROSE" emblazoned across your chest."
"The heck?" Rose peeked her head out to see Scorpius's silhouette peering down at his chest. "ROSE."
"Yes?" Rose crawled out from under the bed, doing her best not to look at all embarrassed.
"What the heck?" Scorpius was smiling slightly though.
"You looked to peaceful."
"Damn, Rose. Why are you IN here?" Albus asked, running a hand through his curly brown hair.
"Uh.."
"You aren't..you know...?"
Rose smacked his arm. "No!"
"Okay..well, I came up here to ask if you know anything about Lily. She's been acting mega weird all day, avoiding me and stuff, looking nervous, jumpy."
"You'll probably find out tomorrow.."
"Huh?"
"Well, she made me swear not to tell."
"You? She hates you!"
"Not so much anymore. We kinda became friends? I don't know, really. Just, don't ask, Al."
"Fine." Albus was still looking skeptically at a shirtless Scorpius with very tousled hair and a pj clad Rose, who's hair was also mussed from rolling under the bed. "You two better no be having-"
"We're not."
"I'm still not sure I believe you. You know your mum and dad would like disown you if you got knocked up, so you'd better not."
"Merlin, Al. She said we're not and we aren't!" Scorpius said irritably.
"Fine, fine."
"Can you like go, Al?"
"What, so you can shag in peace?"
"Yeah, so we can shag in peace, get your arse out."
"God you two. Like randy otters."
Yeah, like randy otters. Rosie, wanna hold hands and scratch each other's bellies?" Rose glared at him but Albus laughed.
"Don't knock her up, Scor!" Albus called as he left the room.
"So, about that shagging like otters.."
"I get a ring, you get the shagging like otters." Rose giggled.
"I will remember to get you a ring in the near future then." Scorpius said softly, leaning in to kiss her.
"Uh, uh. Oh, no you don't." said Rose. "We are two randy teens in a dark bedroom alone."
"And?"
"I am not going to be your own little callgirl, I want to be your girlfriend, if we do it now, there's nothing special for our special night."
Scorpius sighed and nodded, pecking her cheek instead.
"Come on, let's talk future plans!"
"Ok!" Rose felt herself getting giddy as they talked about after they eloped. As excited as she was, Rose's heart felt heavy; she knew they couldn't invite their families or friends to the wedding, lest they gatecrash or try to disrupt anything, she knew her family would try to. No one but Al and Teddy accepted them. And Victoire. But that was it. And it sucked.
"So, Poland?" Scorpius grinned.
"Where do you wanna go?"
"I kinda wanna see Amsterdam..or Italy. Maybe France? Then our kids could go to Beauxbatons!"
"Oh, God no. I'm not having daddy's little princess going to a school for poodles."
"France is so lovely though," Rose gushed. "Have you seen it? C'st magnificente'."
"Rosie, that's not how you say it."
"Like I give a damn."
"France..but..all those wooing French boys, they'd give anything for a sexy Brit like you!"
"Have a little faith, Scor. I'm yours! Would I honestly be running from my family with my lover just to drop you the second some French snail tries to woo me?"
"Not just you, what about of perfect little daughter?"
"Who's says it'll be a she? Maybe we'll have only boys!"
"No. We'll have a pretty little princess, who will have pretty blond curls, sparkling blue eyes, and freckles and she'll be daddy's little princess."
"No more than three kids, mind you."
"Then we'd better make sure one's a girl!"
"Scorpius," Rose giggled. "We can't choose."
Scorpius leaned to where Rose's stomach was. "Ya hear that, Rosie's chromosomes, you'd better not disappoint. Got it? We cool? Alright."
"Did you just have a conversation with my uterus?"
"Damn right, I did." Scorpius threw his arm around her. And Rose laughed for what seemed like ages, snuggling into Scorpius warm body, closing her eyes for just...one...minute...
Scorpius woke up to a mouthful of hair. Panicked thoughts surged through his mind. Did he cheat on Rose? Why couldn't he remember? Did he sleep with Rose? Though terrified to, he opened his eyes to see a (fully clothed) Rose. Suddenly he remembered last night and immideately felt better. She was deep in sleep and looked very adorable. Then it dawned on him that they had classes today.
"Rose! Rose, get up!" he shook her.
"Mhphmshf." she snuggled into his chest, her fluffy brown hair sprawled haphazardly.
"Rosie." Rose ran her fingers along his abdomen in her sleep.
"Rose, we had insane sex last night." Scorpius whispered in her ear. "Want to go again?" Rose's eyes flashed open.
"WE WHAT?!"
"Only joking. Come on, love. We've got lessons."
"Git."
"Rose, get up."
"I don't want to..I wanna stay in bed and kiss you and cuddle."
"You know Al won't cover for us. We'll have plenty of time for snogging and cuddling after school."
"Too long away. I wanna cuddle NOW."
"Time to get up, unless you want me to tell the whole school you and Hank are an item..." Rose reluctantly rolled off Scorpius's very warm chest and accio'd her school uniform and book bag, getting changed in Scorpius's bathroom which was a mess. Rose was a tiny bit of a neat freak so she scooped up all the dirty laundry and heaped it into a hamper, organized his cupboard with had 3 empty toothpaste tubes, 1 empty shaving foam canister, (for whatever reason) a moldy orange, a box of (thankfully unopened) condoms, a comb, razor, deodorant, and toothbrush. After satisfied with her work, Rose actually got dressed.
"What took so long?" Scorpius asked, packing a bag of books.
"I organized your bathroom." Rose said absentmindedly.
"You..what? Why?"
"I'm a neat freak! And now it all organized!"
"Merlin, Rose."
"What?"
"Nothing..just can't the house elves do it?"
"I feel much more satisfied doing it myself, thanks." Rose said, crossing her arms.
"Alright, alright. Let's get going, people already think we're shagging, so showing up late for class won't help."
"They what?!" Rose gasped.
"Three blokes from the Ravenclaw team asked how you are in bed.."
"AND WHAT MAY I ASK DID YOU TELL THEM?"
"Bloody kinky and loud too."
"SCORPIUS HYPERION MALFOY!" Rose yelled, pouncing on him and punching him with her little fists.
"God, Rose, of course I didn't. And, you punch like a girl." Rose huffed and blew a piece of hair out of her face. Scorpius ruffled her hair and kissed her nose before they snuck down together to get to the Great Hall for breakfast.
When they reached the doors, Scorpius shoved her in first, telling her he'd come in a few minutes, so as not to raise suspision. The second she was in the hall, a wave of relatives came rushing towards her.
"Where's Lily?"
"Why's she crying?"
"Do you know anything about why she got a letter then ran out?"
"Sweet Morgana Le Fay of Avalon you look well shagged." Rose punched Dom in the shoulder for that one.
"First, no, I don't know where she is. Second, you'll have to ask her. Third, the letter was from her parents and I won't say a thing. Fourth, shut up, Dom."
"Rose, why can't you tell!?" Hugo said fiercely.
"It's not my business to!" replied Rose with similar ferocity.
"God, Ro. We thought you could help." And with that, her simply adoring family drifted away. Rose, in a fiery surge of anger, marched straight out of the Great Hall and down to the kitchens, where the more than willing house elves gave her some toast and coffee. She was just so frustrated. They hardly LOOK at her (excluding Albus) in the past 2 MONTHS and when they need something they come running to her, but the second she cannot comply, they ignore her AGAIN. Rose took an angry sip of coffee, immediately, she gasped as the hot coffee burned her throat and (gracefully) she started coughing, fell over, and heard a worrisome crack when her face collided with the floor. Her nose hurt very much and she felt hot blood drip down her face. As she got up and trooped down to the hospital wing, Rose wondered if it would ever change; she was the clumsy girl with the broken nose, frizzy hair, and nerdy grades. And she wasn't too happy with it but hey, people never really change.
