Notes: This is from this week's theme: "Monday blues".

If there is anything Hayato hated more than his little brother when he's annoying him, it's Mondays. Always, always, Mondays. It doesn't help when his mother is in a particular foul mood when the week starts, anything from punching them on the head to get them awake, to put his alarm clock too close to his ear.

And then Taka – another handful that he has no patience for, especially when he's using the bathroom (his brother speeds inside and locks him out), or when he's changing (his brother hides one of his socks, or strangles himself with the tie – which he has no problems with except his mother is already screaming for them to have breakfast). Even when they're eating, Taka purposefully throws scrambled eggs at his face, whimpering when he hits him.

Not my fault, he gripes as his mother scolds him.

Reluctantly, he carries Taka to his bike and pedals faster than usual for school, squeezing in a bit of training. Taka grips his uniform tightly, not that Hayato minds.

He makes it in record time, carrying Taka to the daycare but only seeing Usaida sleeping with Midori on the floor. Hayato kicks him awake.

"Kashima's not here yet?"

"Oh, it's you. Ryuu-chan? He should be here soon. Morning, Taka."

"Sorry I'm late! Kotarou couldn't decide on which pair of his favourite socks he wanted to wear today...oh, Kamitani, you're here already, good morning."

"Ryuu-chan!"

"No worries, Ryuu-chan, but you two better move along, class is about to start."

"I'll be back at lunch, Kotarou, be good and listen to Usaida-san until then, okay?"

"Un!" (Before Taka drags him off to play.)

As they settle into first period, Hayato thinks at least his day is finally looking up.
