note:

Hey guys, I'm back! FREAKING FINALLY. Yeah, I kind of went on a temporary hiatus since everything got really busy with life and whatnot. But I finally sat down and finished this thing. WOO~ Consider it a slightly late Christmas present. XD And thank you all so much for all the reviews! It meant a lot! Hopefully it lives up to everyone's expectations. Ready for this?

"Hey Mira, is Juvia here yet?" Cana asked as she entered the guild the next morning and took up her usual position by the bar. Mira smiled as she cleared empty glasses off of a nearby table and shook her head.

"Sorry Cana, but I haven't seen her this morning. She'll probably be here shortly though, since she usually gets to the guild pretty early."

"Alright, thanks Mira. Oh, and can I have my-"

"Your barrel's coming right up." Cana leaned away from the bar and laughed.

"Always one step ahead, aren't you Mira?"

"I try." She said with a grin.

"But tell me if you see Juvia, ok?"

"I'll look out for her. Just out of curiosity, why are you so eager for Juvia to arrive today?" Cana shrugged noncommittally before responding.

"I just have a feeling she's going to be a little…different today." Mira looked at her curiously and mulled over her vague answer.

"Different…?" she echoed in a tone that begged for more of an explanation. Cana simply shrugged again and grinned in appreciation as Wakaba handed her usual barrel to her, brought from the back storage room.

"Yeah." Cana said in between long sips from her barrel. "You'll see. It should be interesting."

No more words were said on the matter as the conversation switched to small talk and the day wore on, although Cana did glance towards the entrance of the guild from time to time. Finally, around lunchtime, the said water mage arrived. Natsu and Gray were fighting, and as usual, found a way to involve most of the other members of the guild. The chaos continued since Erza was too immersed in her strawberry cake to try bothering to stop it. Only when her cake was threatened she did send a glare towards the two instigators of the fight, making them abruptly stop and slink off to do something else; Natsu going to talk to Lucy, and Gray taking a seat by Cana at the bar.

"What's up Gray?" Cana asked in greeting. He shrugged and surveyed the guild with a frown.

"Nothing."

"Something wrong?" He shook his head and continued looking around.

"No…but something's different." Mira and Cana shared a look of exasperation at Gray's constant oblivion.

"Could it be that Juvia isn't here yet?" Mira said. The fact seemed to register in his mind as he turned back around to answer Mira.

"Yeah, that's it! Where is she anyways?" Mira didn't respond, instead staring at something behind him with wide eyes, a smile spreading across her face.

"Cana." She said slowly, "Did you have something to do with…" Gray looked between the two of them in confusion as Cana's gaze shifted to behind him as well. She started laughing loudly.

"Hey Juvia! Great job on your new look!" Surprised comments and whistles were heard from all over the guild. Gray turned, wondering what Juvia could possibly be doing to attract so much commotion. His eyes widened when he saw her.

She had on an outfit that looked like what she had been wearing when she was being controlled by that member of the assassin's guild Trinity Raven when they were in the Tower of Heaven. It consisted of a deep red corset-like top with a plunging neckline, giving a rather generous view, dark tight fitting pants, and white heels. To top it all off she had a spiky silver choker necklace and a matching bracelet, dark red lipstick, and her hair was down in loose waves. "J-Juvia?!" She turned her head towards the sound of his voice and smirked when her eyes met his.

"Hey Gray." She purred, slowly strolling over. He wasn't sure whether to focus his attention on the fact that she hadn't called him 'Gray-sama' or on her drastic change in appearance. And her new change in attire left him unsure of where to look as well.

"What…" he trailed off and continued staring at her. She rolled her eyes and heaved a sigh before leaning closer and brushing her lips against his ear.

"If you're not going to at least form complete sentences, then don't waste my time." She stepped around him and sat down at the bar.

Meanwhile Gray was still standing there baffled, trying to process all of what was happening. First Juvia comes in wearing that, then she treats him completely different to her usual way of fawning over him, and isn't using her usual trademark third person speech. Feeling slightly dizzy, he followed her lead and took a seat beside her.

"You look different." He said, mentally kicking himself for acting stupid and pointing out the obvious.

"Yeah. You like it?"

"Uh, I guess so, I mean it's, uh, nice. Y-yeah." He stuttered.

She laughed lightly and leaned towards him, reaching forward and twirling a piece of his hair around her finger. His breath caught. She grinned enticingly at him and whispered, "I'm glad you think so." Gray suddenly jerked away from Juvia and quickly turned his face away to hide the faint blush that was growing on his cheeks.

"Is there a problem Gray?" He opened his mouth to reply, but no sound came out. "What's wrong?" She repeated, batting her eyelashes. "Too much for you?" Cana applauded enthusiastically from her spot a few seats away, but no one thought anything of it, assuming her to be too drunk to be coherent. Gray cursed himself as he struggled to think up an intelligent response. Juvia was turning him on a bit too much for his liking. Wait…

"Why are you acting this way?" Gray asked, finally finding his voice.

She got up and stood in front of him, trailing her hand along his arm. "Well it got your attention, didn't it?" she murmured.

He looked at her in slight confusion. "What do you mean?"

"I mean, I finally have your attention." Juvia said slowly, letting her eyes lock with his in a lingering gaze.

"You've always had my attention." For a moment Juvia looked surprised and almost smiled, but then her face transformed into a smirk.

"Have I now?" she purred, draping her arm over Gray's shoulder and taking a seat on his lap. By now most of the guild was watching the pair with growing interest, and Gray was struggling to keep his composure.

"Yes." He answered stiffly. "And now you've gotten most everyone else's as well."

"Ohh... That doesn't matter. To me at least. Are you getting shy? That's absolutely adorable." Juvia murmured in a teasing tone.

"A- adorable?!" he sputtered. Gray didn't know what kind of game Juvia was playing, but it was starting to be too much for him, since it was affecting his strict no blushing rule. Well two could play at this game. Pushing aside his previous surprise, he smiled charmingly. "Not as adorable as you."

He refrained from laughing as a blush instantly spread across Juvia's face. She still managed to keep her smirk intact. "Really now? Because I find your shyness much cuter."

"Fine, I'm sure it is. But the only thing that beats it is your dazzling smile." His amusement grew as he succeeded in making her turn even redder.

"I guess so, because you don't seem so shy now." She rested her head in the crook of his neck, and he could feel her warm breath. He shivered involuntarily, reigniting the smirk on Juvia's face. "Gray Fullbuster…"

"That makes two of us." He said.

"So we're even then."

"Juvia… I-"

"I like the way my name sounds when you say it." She interrupted, sighing and smiling in content. She trailed her lips along his jaw, stopping just below his lips, before leaning back a bit to meet his eyes.

Gray stared back at her with wide eyes. He was finding it hard not to enjoy this a little. Damn it, when had Juvia started having this effect on him?

"Will you say it again?" she asked when he didn't respond. "Please?"

Moving forward again, Juvia leaned her forehead against Gray's before lightly brushing her lips against his, and starting to pull away. By now though, Gray had had enough, and he wrapped his arms around Juvia's waist, startling her.

"Juvia." He said promptly before aggressively capturing her mouth with his own. Her eyelids fluttered as she sank into the kiss, and retaliated with equal passion. They only broke apart some time later, and rather unwillingly at that, when lack of oxygen caused Gray to lose his balance and nearly topple off the barstool.

"You wanna get out of here?" He asked, helping Juvia off of his lap and standing. She grinned and took his hand.

"Let's go."

"Alright." He said with a half-smile, "But promise me one thing."

"What's that?"

"Go back to normal after today. With the clothes, and third person speech, and calling me Gray-sama. As much as I enjoyed this experiment of yours, I like that Juvia better. That's actually you."

Her smile brightened and she nodded. "I promise Gray-sama."

"Good. I love the real you more."

With that, and a squeal from Juvia, the guild's newest couple left the guild, leaving a satisfied audience in their wake. "That was quite a show, right Mira?" Cana said with a satisfied smirk. "Mira?"

She leaned over the bar to see Mira passed out on the floor, with Lucy and Levy fanning her in concern. Cana laughed. "You ok down there?"

"Hm? Perfectly fine." Mira said as she regained consciousness and beamed. "Better than fine. Brilliant actually. Did you set that up Cana?"

Cana shrugged. "Not necessarily. All I did was give Juvia some tips. Gray's reaction to that was entirely his own."

"You told Juvia to do all that?" Lucy asked.

"No. I just told her what Gray likes." She corrected.

"And you know what he likes?" Levy asked, raising her eyebrows.

Cana laughed and shook her head. "Nope."

"So you basically just gave Juvia blind advice?!" Lucy said.

"Hey, it worked didn't it."

"Amazing…" Mira muttered. "I like it… What exactly did you tell Juvia?"

"Well, I told her to be confident, a little sassy, stuff like that. Oh, and I also told her one other thing just to… spice things up a little." Cana said, laughing lightly at the curious expressions on her friend's faces.

"What was it?" Levy asked, poking her arm.

"Just a little tip for the bedroom-"

"Oh no, I'm too scared to ask." Lucy said, blushing at how casually Cana offered those kinds of tips.

"Tell us." Mira demanded, leaning across the countertop.

"Oh, it wasn't anything too bad," she said, waving her hand dismissively. "Just that he prefers a bit of a stripper performance before the main event."

"Cana!" Lucy yelled as Levy's face turned red and Mira died a little.

"What? He's a stripper in a way, so I thought she might try to practice his hobbies as well. Or something. I don't know." She laughed.

"You have to tell her tomorrow that isn't true." Lucy said firmly.

"Alright, alright I will. If they don't already go that far before then…" Mira hit her head against the bar as she fainted.

Ignoring her last remark, Lucy and Levy nodded. "Good. Come on Levy, I was going to show you the latest chapter in my novel." Lucy said, walking away.

"Ok, Lucy, be right there." She said and waited until Lucy was out of earshot before turning to Cana. "Good job Cana." She giggled and smiled. "They make a great couple."

"Finally, someone who appreciates my work!" Cana exclaimed, bowing slightly.

note:
