Dean wasn't actually sure what it was that he was going to occupy himself with while Brooke was gone. There was always sightseeing, but Dean also felt like he was just there so that Brooke could have him around away from a familiar setting, but it still wasn't like a vacation just the two of them. Here, in New York, everyone knew about the Winchesters and the Davis' so it wasn't as if they could act like a couple wandering around the city. So, Dean instead went out to go and get himself some pizza and stretch his legs.

Things with Brooke had been escalating for a little while, but they were definitely reaching a peak now and Dean didn't know if he could handle it. Crossing over this sexual line was going to make it impossible for him to treat her like his sister—not that he ever thought of her as that in the first place. Brooke was the girl he kind of had a thing for before his father married her mother and that was the extent of their 'sibling' relationship. Actually, he had always wondered why Sam hadn't ever noticed it before.

It wasn't that Sam was completely oblivious either.

Sam had been pretty focused on Haley James from the beginning and now things with them were heating up too. They'd been dating and were definitely in a good place, but to Sam all that really mattered these days was Haley: Haley was his family. He honestly just wanted to spend every waking moment with her, and eating lunch together today was nothing different. Visiting her at school and making her smile and laugh were some of his favorite things to do.

"How do you think Brooke and Dean are doing in New York?" Haley asked Sam as he fed her a chocolate.

Sam smiled and shrugged. "Probably fine. Brooke has a lot of work of do and Dean is in the city famous for its pizza—I'm sure they're good."

"Yeah, but I just…never mind," Haley began before she stopped.

"You just what?" Sam asked, leaning forward and kissing Haley's nose.

She knew better than to say something like that and then trail off, because Sam Winchester didn't just let things go. Sometimes he let them be for the time being, but he always came back to them later and unless the lunch bell saved her, she was going to have to finish her sentence. Especially now, since Sam was kissing her lips, stroking her hair and making her want to just give in to whatever it was that he wanted. Why Sam had that affect on her she didn't know, but she did know that she couldn't be the only one to see what was going on between Brooke and Dean because it felt pretty obvious some days…other days, she supposed, not so much.

"Brooke and Dean have been…odd…" Haley said, sighing because that wasn't the word she actually wanted to use.

Sam nodded slowly. "Odd, how?"

"It just seems like they've been going out of their way not to be…I don't know," Haley admitted with a shrug. "Something is just off with them. One minute they are both at each other's throats, the next their not speaking, and then suddenly Dean and Cassie are broken up and Dean is following Brooke to New York?"

"You mean you think they're together?" Sam asked Haley slowly. "Like…a couple? I mean…it's not far-fetched…"

"Brooke had a thing for him the first time we all met," Haley explained, nodding when Sam said he'd known. "I just think that as of recently they are suddenly getting along better than they ever used to—after your parents got married."

Sam took a deep breath. "I just wish they'd told us..."

"There's a chance it isn't true at all," Haley reminded him.

Sam nodded, but now he was going to keep wondering about it no matter what he did. Haley had brought up a really good point and he knew that they weren't all related by blood and he wanted both of them to be the happiest that they could be, but this was complicated. Considering the spotlight that the Davis' were in all the time, there would be a backlash for the company, not to mention that this place had been their home and they were all used to the big family unit. A sister dating her brother was going to make people uncomfortable regardless of the fact that there was nothing actually wrong about Brooke and Dean dating, or even eventually getting married and having kids if that so happened.

Knowing Haley had to get back to her classroom, Sam gave her one last kiss and then sent her off, heading back to his own work. He was an Intern now and still working on his law degree, wanting to be the best that he could be for Haley. Soon he'd propose and hopefully they'd be getting married, but right now they were in a really good place. Besides, Sam had only had his eye on a ring, he hadn't bought one yet. Everything in good time and right now Sam wanted to focus on his job and on this potential relationship that Dean and Brooke had.

Actually, thinking about it, he called Dean.

Dean was in the middle of shoving pizza in his face, but he smiled when he saw that it was Sam that was calling him, and he picked up his cell phone. He missed his brother a little bit, and it was nice to hear Sam so cheerful on the other end actually curious about what it was that Dean was doing. So they talked about pizza for a little bit and Dean explained how much nicer it was to go as a tourist and not as a hunter, and Sam smiled—even as hunters they hadn't really ever been in New York. Hunts tended to be in nice small towns where there wasn't anyone around for miles to hear you scream, but cities sure. California had its fair share of monsters…

"How is Brooke?" Sam found himself asking, warming up for the harder questions later.

Dean smiled at the mention of her. "She's doing great. Been in meetings practically this whole time though, so she's probably exhausted."

"Probably," Sam agreed with a nod. "Are you two together? I was going to warm up to it more, but you just sound so happy."

"I'm sorry, what?" Dean asked Sam quickly, choking on his pizza a little bit. "Did you just ask if we were together?"

"Well, you liked each other before Dad and Victoria got married and then Brooke comes back and suddenly you're no longer with Cassie…" Sam explained with a shrug. "It's fine with me if you two are, I just…you two are being careful right?"

"I didn't even confirm your suspicions!" Dean said a little louder than he would have liked. "Hang on…"

Getting himself out of the restaurant he was in, Dean paid for his food and then got outside, feeling a little bit more like he could talk now. There were other people on the sidewalk with their phones in hand ignoring him and carrying on with their own busy lives and this conversation wasn't supposed to be happening over the phone. At the same time, Dean hated lying to his brother—it always left him feeling sad and guilty and that was not how he wanted this time with Brooke to go at all.

"We're trying something out but we weren't even going to say anything unless we knew for sure that it was going to work out," Dean tried, half lying and also pointing out a very good point to himself. "I mean what if it's awkward?"

Sam laughed a little bit. "You mean, you think you might accidentally think of her as your sister while in the middle of the deed?"

"Just say 'sex', Sammy," Dean laughed, knowing Sam was blushing even without looking at him. "No, though, I don't think that will be awkward. I've always seen her as a woman and a woman I will see her as even in the middle of—"

"—yeah, I get it," Sam said cutting Dean off. "You may not see her as your sister, but I see her as mine. I take it you don't want me to tell Mom and Dad?"

"That is right on the money," Dean responded with a laugh. "We don't want them to hear anything and definitely not unless it's from us. How did you even figure it out?"

Sam chuckled a bit. "Actually, Haley thought something was off and since I did too, it clicked for us. You forget that we knew how you two felt before we all became one big happy family. Well, she knew Brooke liked you and I knew you liked Brooke. Apparently, now you both know and hey, if you can make it work—try. You both deserve the best."

"Thanks, Sammy," Dean said honestly, glancing at the hotel. "I gotta go and get some dinner ready for Brooke, but…just thank you."

"Anytime, I love you both," Sam admitted with a shrug. "Just don't hurt her."

Brooke was exhausted.

She had been trying as hard as she could to get things taken care of and then she could get back to Dean as soon as possible, but it hadn't worked out in her favor. For hours she was dealing with all sorts of issues and even some fun things, but she wasn't feeling that spark of excitement that she had before because all she wanted to do was get back to Dean. If this hadn't been the only chance to get to see Dean without worrying about anyone walking in on them, she would have just let Victoria do this trip as originally planned. Since she was here already, she had to make every moment count and she had to prove herself not only to her mother, but to herself—this was her company, and she had to be able to run it on her own.

Once Brooke got back from her meetings, Dean found that he could tell that she was partially forcing that smile on her face. She was exhausted from dealing with publicists and designers and even though she greeted him with a passionate kiss, Dean felt like it was his duty to instead point her toward the room service. Brooke had been expecting Dean to want to finish what he they had begun before, but instead he started to massage her shoulders as she ate her pasta and she closed her eyes and moaned. It wasn't even the moan of the incredibly sexually aroused—it was the moan of a person that needed the tension rubbed out of her body.

"What's this all about?" Brooke asked Dean slowly.

Dean chuckled and rolled his eyes. "I want you for more than sex, Brooke."

"Even though I knew that, it's nice to hear you say it out loud," Brooke admitted, blushing.

She didn't want Dean to think that sex was all that this was good for and yes, the sexual tension was there, but Brooke loved him. Everything about him drew her to him and she wanted more than anything to let him know just how much he meant to her and it didn't have to be through sex at all. She could just hold him close and stroke his hair and she would be perfectly content just lying in his arms until dawn. Dean loved her too, she could tell, and still her body felt a bit aroused when she felt his lips on her neck and his hot breath on her ear.

"I mean, at some point I'm going to bury myself inside of you, but right now I just want you to rest—you've got more meetings tomorrow," Dean whispered in her ear.

Brooke bit her lip and nodded. "You could do that now…"

"Is that what you want me to do, Brooke? Because you should probably rest," Dean teased, but he was also being serious.

"Probably, but I don't want to…" Brooke responded with a shrug, turning around and planting a kiss on his mouth.

Dean chuckled a little into the kiss, fingers slipping into her hair as he held her close and kissed her lovingly. Brooke was trying to figure out if she had enough energy for this, and in the end she realized that even if she didn't she would want to try…but should she? Sleepy sex was just as nice as other kinds of sex, but at the same time she didn't really want to have sex with Dean for the first time when she was half asleep. That wasn't how she wanted to remember it and so when she pulled away, she looked him in the eye.

"Tomorrow, I have exactly two meetings and I should be done," Brooke explained to him, kissing him gently again. "I don't want our first time having sex together to be—"

"—sleepy sex?" Dean asked her, smiling when she nodded. "Me neither. I want you to remember every single last thing that I do to you in vivid detail."

Brooke groaned softly. "You gotta stop,"

"Words do speak volumes," Dean chuckled, aware he was turning her on. "Serves you right for what you did to me on the plane."

"Touché," Brooke agreed before laughing and turning back to the food. "You know, for the record…I want you for more than sex too."

Dean smiled and kissed her cheek, both of them deciding now to focus on the fact that they were both here and together and eat their room service dinner. They chatted about all sorts of things and Dean even asked her about how the company was faring and she told him all sorts of things from her meeting he seemed genuinely interested in. Then when they were done with the food, Dean got up to put the tray outside the door and put the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door as Brooke got into her pajamas, which consisted that night of a short nightgown.

When Dean saw it, he sighed, shaking his head as he pulled on his pajama pants. "You're killing me here, Davis."

"Good," Brooke responded, chuckling a little bit as she got into her bed. "Now, how about you come here and we can at least spoon."

"My plan in the beginning was to take advantage and sleep in the same bed as you, regardless of our two doubles," Dean admitted with a chuckle as he pulled his t-shirt on, crawling into bed with her. "Though, we're probably going to have to make this bed look slept in when the maid gets around to cleaning or there will be gossip."

Brooke nodded as Dean pulled her close under the covers. "And we're not 10 anymore so we can't claim I was scared and we shared."

"Exactly," Dean nodded, turning off the light and wrapping his arms around her. "God, to think I missed out on this all these years…"

"At least we have now to make up for it," Brooke reminded him with a smile, running her fingertips along his shirted chest. "We should make the best of this whole trip and figure out how to tell Mom and Dad."

Dean nodded, pressing his lips to her temple, trying to ignore how fast his heart was beating just then and it wasn't because he was nervous about his parents. He knew that he should be because getting them to understand would be harder than it had been with Sam, but he was in bed with the woman he'd loved all these years and she made him feel so happy. Plus, he could feel her rapid heartbeat as well because she was pressed up against him, and it just added to his feeling of elation and he wasn't sure what to do. Oh, but speaking of Sam…

"Sam and Haley know," Dean said suddenly.

Brooke sat up and looked at him. "Whoa, whoa, whoa…what?"

"Sam called while I was eating pizza and told me they figured it out and I needed to treat you right," Dean explained with a nod. "Though seeing as how he knew I had a thing for you and she knew you had a thing for me…we should have seen that coming. They're both incredibly smart."

"He won't tell our parents though, will he? And yes I know that sounds incredible juvenile but they shouldn't hear about this from anyone but us," Brooke reminded him, nodding when he told her they were going to be fine and Sam and Haley wouldn't say a thing. "Good…okay…"

Nodding, Brooke lay back down and snuggled back into Dean's arms, kissing him gently and then closing her eyes. She just wanted to enjoy this time with him and come tomorrow evening, she was planning on making this whole trip worth his while. Not only did she want to make it up to him that he was going to be a bit bored while she worked, but she wanted to show him in a more physical way that she loved him. Not just words and not just snuggling and kind gestures, but being intimate in the most intimate of ways and knowing she could actually do that with Dean brought a smile to her fast and her heart raced.

"Put that naughty mind of yours to rest," Dean teased, feeling the thumping against his side. "You need to rest."

Brooke pinched him gently and laughed. "Goodnight, Dean."

"Goodnight, Brooke," Dean responded, kissing the top of her head.

Note: Next chapter will be intense and probably have a smut warning, so here's the early warning. Also: HAPPY HOLIDAYS! I have a buys next few days, but sometime next week or this weekend I should be able to update again. Feedback is always appreciated!
