Author's notes: The rating is mostly for language although there might be some mature scenes considering that this is a fanfic about young adults (who are some of the most sexually active members of the human population). This story will feature same-sex couples, mainly Kigo, so if you don't like that kind of thing turn back now. You have been warned.
Everyone was gathered outside the gates of the field where the Middleton High graduation was about to take place. Excitement was thick in the air around them as they stood there, nervously smoothing gowns, straightening caps, and adjusting tassels. Kim looked over at Ron, who, in that moment, very much resembled a deer caught in the headlights of a truck. She gave his shoulder a squeeze and smiled at him in an attempt to reassure him. Ron smiled back weakly, not consoled but obviously glad to have her there. All of a sudden, Mr. Barkin's voice came booming over the loudspeaker, welcoming the parents and families and calling the graduates to their seats. The two friends looked at each other, took a mutual deep breath, and got into alphabetical order with the rest of their peers as they made the slow marched onto the field.
Once seated, the graduating seniors had to sit through one of many inspiration speeches that seemed to drag on forever. Despite that fact, Kim was still caught off guard when the speaker, Felix Renton, called her up to give her valedictorian speech. With a smile and thumbs-up from Ron, Kim stood and made her way to the stage. She had rehearsed this speech countless times but she was still nervous. After a calming breath she began, talking about the road they had travelled to get to this point, about the opportunities they were going to have in the future. It was going pretty well and Kim was starting to feel more confident. However, this confidence was short lived as she noticed that more and more people were locking shocked and worried. She tried not to let this bother her and kept going. She slowly began to rise off of the ground so she clung to her podium. Finally, she looked above her and saw that a green beam of light was coming down from the sky and surrounding her. She clung with all her might as she watched Ron charge the stage. Kim lost her grip on the podium right as Ron reached her, grabbing her hand.
"Hold on, KP!" Ron shouted over the din of whatever was flying overhead and the panicking masses. "I've got you!"
She struggled to stop her ascent, but to no avail. Her hand slipped out of Ron's and she barreled skyward, kicking and clawing uselessly at the air around her.
"KP!" Ron screamed, reaching desperately after his best friend. He sighed and turned and looked at the people around him, all crazy with fear. He looked back in the direction the spaceship that had beamed Kim up had flown off in. He raised an angry fist to the sky and shouted at the top of his lungs, "You see?! I wasn't so wrong to fear the future!"

Shego looked at the blinking red beacon in front of Drakken's new jungle lair, then up at the sky where a ship had appeared and abducted the blue villain in the middle of his ridiculous description of how to deal with said giant red light. The emerald-eyed woman tapped her chin in thought, trying to figure out what her next move should be. She knew that she should probably find some way to rescue Drakken. He could be annoying to an astounding degree but she had come to depend on him for companionship, not to mention the fact that the blue man couldn't pay her salary if he was trapped in a spaceship somewhere. She sighed.
"I guess I'll have to go begging to Kim Possible," Shego grumbled, "Today's turning out to be a real gem."
She climbed into a small jet she had recently stolen. It would get her to North America a lot faster than Drakken's dinky little hovercraft. She strapped in, slipped on her piloting shades, and sped off into the night. It didn't take long before Middleton was below her. Shego landed hastily and jumped out of the jet's cockpit, landing gracefully on her feet. She wasn't sure just where in Middleton she was. Before she could get her bearings, she heard the deafening crunch of breaking metal behind her. She turned and saw that a huge metal spike, which she then noticed was attached to some kind of enormous robot, had skewered her little jet.
Shego decided to high-tail it out of there before she suffered the same fate. She was running past a cement wall when she heard the unmistakable sound of Ron Stoppable screaming his head off. She looked ahead and saw that a robot, like the one that had totaled her plane, had smashed through the gate farther along the wall. She leapt up over the wall and onto one of the smaller buildings just beyond it to get a better look. The robot had Ron and Mr. Possible trapped between its four legs with some kind of green energy beams. She made up her mind to save them, maybe they'd be more willing to help her, and she lit up her fists.
"Hey!" called Ron, "Shego's here!" he paused, "Is that good or bad?"
As if to answer his question, the ebony-haired woman sprang from the building and perched on one of the robot's legs, using her plasma to help her punch through the supports. She did the same to another leg and the robot started to sway. Ron grabbed Mr. Possible and kicked his rocket skates into gear just in time to avoid the toppling machinery. Shego landed in front of them.
"Where's Kimmie?" she asked, getting right to the point.
Ron and Mr. Possible both pointed up at the sky. Shego blinked at them for a second and then sighed.
"Great," she said sarcastically, "Just great. I was kind of counting on her saving the day."
"Where's Drakken?" Ron asked.
Shego pointed tiredly up at the sky and said, "Looks like we're on the same side for once."
Mr. Possible wasted no time ushering Ron and Shego inside the space center and powering up their independent generator. He put on a space suit and handed an identical one to Ron as the three of them walked over to a lifting platform next to a large spacecraft.
"So what's the plan here?" the villainess asked.
"Well," replied Mr. Possible, "Ronald and I are going up in this spacecraft to get Kimmie Cub back. You'll stay here and monitor."
Shego nodded. "Yeah," she said, "That's perfect, except for one thing: I'm going up and you're staying here. Now hand over the space suit before I burn your face off!"
The rocket scientist begrudgingly complied, lecturing her the whole time about sticking with the plan. She brushed his comments off as she dawned the space suit and leapt into the cockpit, hauling Ron behind her as she slammed the door. Despite Mr. Possible's loud and angry objections, Shego strapped into her seat and prepared for takeoff, pausing for a few seconds as Ron fumbled with his seatbelt. The buckle sounded with a "click" and Shego put the petal to the metal, eager to get away from the shouting scientist in his underwear.

Kim looked around her, trying to figure out just where she was. Before she could ascertain much about her surroundings, she noticed Dr. Drakken was floating handcuffed just a few feet away. He still had bright yellow petals around his head.
"Kim Possible?!" the blue man shouted, "If there's one good thing about this day it's getting to see you locked up here!"
"Nice to see you to, Drakken," the redhead replied sarcastically, "What is this place?"
He shrugged.
Kim was about to get frustrated when the doors behind the two prisoners slide open and Kim heard the distinct, authoritative sound of footsteps. Their captors came to a stop just in front of them.
"Warmonga!" Drakken cried, "Um," he fumbled with his words, "Hi there! You're not still mad are you?"
The tall green-skinned women gave him a look of contempt, then turned to her mate.
"Warhok!" she bellowed, "Let us complete our take-over of this pathetic planet so that I might have retribution for the wrongs these tiny Earthlings have done me."
Warhok, a hulking mass of muscle, gave her a wide grin and walked over to what looked like some kind of control station. Warmonga quickly made her way to a similar station on the other side of the room.
"You're going to take over Earth?" Kim asked, incredulous.
"Yes," Warmonga replied, "And you will watch helplessly as we do."
"Good luck with that," Drakken mumbled.
"What was that, puny blue man?!" Warhok boomed.
Drakken paled.
"Earth won't go down without a fight!" Kim shouted, trying to sound confident.
The Lorwardians ignored her, focusing on their progress. After just a few minutes, Warmonga looked over at her mate with a devilish smile.
"Domination complete," she said ominously.
"What?!" Drakken screamed, "You can't just take over the world that quickly! It's not possible!"
"Maybe not for you," said Kim, "Unfortunately, it seems they're more competent."
"Let us go and celebrate!" Warhok called, standing in triumph.
With that, Earth's conquerors walked out of the room, leaving their prisoners alone with a motion-sensitive laser cannon trained on them.
"Prisoner containment complete," the cannon said in a slightly too chipper tone.
"Awesome!" Kim said.
"'Awesome'?" Drakken asked, looking at the teen hero like she had gone completely insane, "What's so 'awesome' about being trapped in a Lorwardian warship?!"
"They've left us alone," Kim replied, "Now we can escape. Duh!"
The evil scientist began muttering under his breath about the futility of their situation as Kim looked around for something she could use to get her handcuffs off. She caught something moving in her peripheral vision and glanced over to find a thin vine, which seemed to be growing out of Drakken's neck. It snaked over to Kim giving her a close-up view of the little flower on its tip.
"Uh, Drakken, I think your flower is growing."
"My flower? I'm not growing a garden, here. Just because it's on me doesn't make it my flower." When his nemesis didn't answer, he turned to look at her and saw the vine. "What the hell is that?!" he shrieked.
Kim shrugged.
"Oh, you're no help!" Drakken said, visibly frustrated, "I've got all kinds of crazy mutated plants growing on me and I don't know how to make it stop. It's not like I can control them. Can you imagine? I say 'Vine, attack Kim Possible!' and it actually…"
He lost his train of thought as he watched the vine wrap around the redhead's body and lift her into the air. The cannon, detecting movement, rose up and took aim right at her. It shot off a single blast and the room filled with smoke. Drakken's head and shoulders drooped and he admitted that Kim Possible had, in fact, been all that. The smoke began to dissipate.
"You know what happens when you assume, Drakken," Kim said, stepping into the light to reveal that she was not only alive but free from her restraints.
"No I don't," Drakken said right before the redhead came at him from the side, winding him and shoving him safely out of the laser's range. "Hm," he added, thoughtfully, once he caught his breath, "Vine, destroy that cannon!"
To the blue villain's glee, the leafy appendage complied, wrapping around the cannon and constricting until the sides cracked and the weapon collapsed in a heap of parts. The temporary allies wasted no time in finding the door and making their exit. They peeked out from behind a support beam just in time to see a small flying drone scanning the hallway. Kim ducked behind the support, pulling Drakken and his highly visible petals with her. The gears in her head were already turning, trying to formulate a plan of action.
"All right," she said, "We need to get through here without letting that guard drone see us."
"Who put you in charge?" Drakken whined, "I don't take orders from you!"
He tried to storm off but smacked into a wall panel, falling backward into the trap door he'd just inadvertently opened. Kim sighed and shot her grappling hook down after him, stopping him mid-fall.
"Thank you for providing the perfect example of why I'm in charge."

Ron and Shego had been flying in silence. Shego didn't mind. She actually preferred it. She had been using the time to think. When Drakken had been taken she'd been more annoyed than worried, she knew that Kim would be able to get the poor sap back, but when it turned out that the Lorwardians had taken Kim as well Shego felt something ignite within her. She had tried to play it cool in front of the others but she was freaking out. If something happened to Drakken she'd be out of a job but if something happened to Kim… The thought of it made her want to light up her hands and kick some asses. She took a deep breath and tried to relax her tense muscles. I'm coming for you, Princess, she thought.
"Hey, Shego?" Ron asked, shattering the quiet space Shego had been thinking in, "Can I ask you something?"
"You just did," she snapped, "And shut up, will you? I'm piloting a spacecraft here!"
"You used to be a hero, right?" he replied, ignoring her command, "Back before you turned evil."
"Why are you still talking?" she asked, annoyed. The last thing she needed was for the Buffoon's questions to distract her. She had to get on that alien ship and make sure Kim was okay.
"Wasn't it kind of scary? I mean, you didn't know anything about being a villain or leaving your hometown."
"Nothing really scares me."
That was a lie and she knew it. Beyond her irritation at Ron, she was scared down to her core that the great Kim Possible might not be able to hold her own. Shego realized that she was afraid of losing the redhead. The Lorwardian ship came into view, snapping her back to reality.
"Okay," she said, "I stand corrected. That ship is pretty damn scary. How are we going to get in?"
"Duh! Garbage shoot!"
"Riiight." Shego rolled her eyes.
"Think about it. A ship that big has to have a garbage shoot." As Ron spoke, a small door opened up on the side of the ship and what appeared to be several trash bags floated out. "Ha!" Ron shouted, "See? I told you! Garbage shoot!"
"Yeah, yeah," Shego muttered, racing toward the opening for fear the door might close.
They landed in the garbage bay in the nick of time, clearing the slowly closing door by a foot or so on either side of their borrowed rocket ship. Shego opened the door and leapt from the ship, landing on her feet and looking up expectantly at Ron. The blonde boy peeked over the edge and gulped.
"That's a long way down," he said.
"Come on! We don't have all day!" Shego snapped back, irritated by the fact that she was always surrounded by incompetent buffoons.
"Hold on!" Ron called, patting his shoulders and sides, "I'm looking for – I found it!" he said as the jetpack attached to the back of his spacesuit roared to life, "Booyah!"
Shego turned on her jetpack as Ron made his slow yet spasmodic descent, the controls seeming too complex for him. Just before he reached the ground he stopped short. He hit a few buttons, trying to get the pack to let him down, and suddenly shot forward into a control panel on the wall. His ebony-haired companion dropped her face into the palm of her hand and slowly shook her head. Then, they a "whoosh" and Shego looked up just as the garbage bay doors finished opening. Well, she thought, That takes care of that.
She led the way out the doors and into the hallway, Ron trailing behind her. Almost instantly, they saw Kim and Drakken round the corner, heading straight for them. Kimmie! thought Shego, She's okay! The pale woman felt a sense of relief wash over her.
"KP!" Ron called, speeding over to hug the redhead.
"Ron?" she replied, confused, "What are you doing here?"
"My best friend in the whole world gets kidnapped by aliens and you expect me to, what? Sit around eating nacos and waiting for everything to blow over? No! I came to rescue you."
Excuse me, Shego mentally fumed, Who flew the ship here? But out loud she said nothing. She stood awkwardly watching the teens as they talked about Earth being overrun by giant destructive robots.
"Shego!" said Drakken, calling her out of her thoughts, "I was wondering when you'd get here."
"Sorry," the green-clad woman said, barely acknowledging her employer, "It's been kind of a rough day."
"Tell me about it," Drakken replied as a full set of new, bright yellow petals sprouted from his neck.
"Still with the petals?" Ron asked.
"Don't make me hurt you," said the evil scientist, pointing a finger at him in a threatening gesture.
An alarm started blaring through the ship, red lights flashed, and the garbage bay doors slid shut with a disheartening "thunk." Everyone's hands shot up to protect their ears from the deafening tone of the alarm. Think! Shego ordered herself, Our ship is blocked off. How are we going to get out of here?
"We're going to have to bring this whole ship down!" Shego bellowed over the siren, "Follow me!"
"Oh, come on!" Drakken whined, "Can't I be in control for once?"
The rest of the group ignored the blue man's complaints. Shego led them into a room in the middle of the ship which seemed to be the source of the alarm.
"Just when I thought it couldn't get any louder," Kim said.
"There's probably an off switch around here somewhere," Ron called, walking over to a control panel, "Rufus, help me look."
"Pft! Right," Drakken said sardonically, "Good luck with that! This is complex alien technology –" he cut himself off as he noticed he was shouting into silence.
Ron gave Rufus a high five for finding the switch. Drakken grumbled inaudibly. Kim and Shego stood still, listening to the ship. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then, with groan, the ship lurched downward and began accelerating. They were headed toward Earth. Shego knew they had to keep moving and figure out what to do next.
She ran out into the hallway, Kim right on her tail, and stopped short just in time to avoid smacking into Warmonga and Warhok. Shego's mind raced to try and formulate her next move. As luck would have it, Ron came barreling out of the control room, Drakken riding on his back, and knocked the Lorwardian conquerors off of their feet. The pale skinned woman seized the opportunity, firing up her jetpack.
"Come on, Princess," she said, scooping Kim up into her arms.
"Whoa!" the teen hero said, surprised.
She wrapped her arms around Shego's neck and cling tightly. The emerald-eyed villainess smiled in spite of herself. Don't get distracted, she chided herself, You'll get yourself killed. You'll get Kimmie killed. Get her safe and then you can get lost in daydreams. She gripped Kim a bit tighter, determination flowing through her like lifeblood. They caught up with Ron and Drakken.
"So," Kim called out, "What's the plan?"
"What's the matter, Pumpkin?" Shego asked, teasingly, "I thought 'anything is possible for a Possible.'"
Kim rolled her eyes.
"You okay, Dr. D?" Ron asked.
The evil scientist had broken his streak of complaining and was now completely still and silent Ron's shoulders.
"I think," Drakken said, slowly, "I think I might have just come up with my most brilliant plan ever!"
"You have a plan to save the world?" Kim asked in disbelief.
The blue man crossed his arms in a huff and looked away from the others. Then, turning back, he gave a single nod.
And there you have the second chapter. I'm sorry I took so long. I've been away at college and my coursework got pretty intense. I made this update extra-long to help make up for it. I should be able to update more now that I'm off for the summer. I have pretty big plans for this story (it's going to be multiple books long if I get what I'm after) but I might have trouble with some of the smaller details so feedback is always welcome. I take all suggestions I get into consideration.
