This is an AU Fanfiction. I always think of "what if" and this story kept nagging me. So here it is. Hope you like it. Review?

"Why?" tears were streaming down Ango's eyes. That was all he could say in his state of shock.

"Why?" his eyes looked far into the unseen distance. Asking to no one in particular. Tears kept dripping down his cheeks as if a water fountain.

Why did everyone has to die? His entire body felt numb and he could not move a muscle. All he could say was asking "why" while tears kept oozing out of his eyes.

What was the purpose that his teammates had to suffer for?

All those testes, all those suffering, all of his friends that had died.

Shigeru…

This was not how it was supposed to happen!

He and his team and only a handful of other humans who were frozen like themselves were supposed to survived the meteorite.

So why did he opened his eyes to see this woman, in her late thirties, inside some lab and was told that nearly a hundred and fifty years had passed since he was put to sleep?

The scientists had found the way to divert the meteor and it never hit earth- save the entire human race from their dooms- but Ango's team.

This was not how it should happen.

Worst, Ango was the only person this woman, who called herself a scientist- researcher, claimed to be aware off. His other team members did not exist to her knowledge.

What happened to them?

Why the whole camp of people had to die?

Why did they have to go through the terrible final test?

Suffering...

And all for what?

There was no meteorite.

There was no use for their knowledge nor their hard trainings.

All his friends had been killed.

Why?...
