I actually didn't want to post this because I thought it was way too short to be a NekuxShiki story, but some coaxing from a friend made this story now possible. Thanks Di! Here's a Neku and Shiki Drabble! (My first!)

"What the hell are you wearing?"

Shiki giggled, twirling a little. "You like it? It's my Halloween costume!"

"Halloween isn't for another month."

"Yeah, but I saw this fabric over the summer and I thought, why not?"

Shiki smiled. She was wearing a black and purple sleeveless shirt with a kind of loose turtleneck, white pants with large pockets that had gold buttons on it, black and purple shoes, and yellow sweat bands. A pair of purple headphones was over her ears and Mr. Mew was in her arms.

"Is that supposed to be me?" Neku asked. Shiki giggled more.

"Yeah. Just call me Neko Sakuraba."

"Neko?"

Shiki nodded. "Get it?" she said, holding up Mr. Mew. "Cute idea isn't it?"

Silence.

"I-I mean if you don't like it I could always dress up as Beat or Rhyme or even Mr. H for Halloween!" Shiki said quickly.

"No it's...it's cute." Neku said. "But can I make one re-adjustment?"

Reaching over, he slowly pulled the headphones off of Shiki's head.

"I don't need these anymore." He said casting them aside. Shiki smiled.

"I can hear you better now." She said.

I love Neku and Shiki, but sometimes I feel that in my stories they move too fast. This is kind of a slow down version of their relationship, but even though it's slow, it's still sweet. Some people make Neku go back for his headphones in their fics, but I always thought he never needed to use them again because friends are better to listen to than music.
