When Harry finally awoke, he noticed several things, the first being the throbbing pain that had plagued him since the encounter with Tom in the ministry was now strangely absent and his vision was now twenty/twenty even though his glasses were not on. He sat up in what appeared to be a hospital bed with Kronek sitting to the right of him in a high-backed chair.
"Well Lord Potter you gave us quite a scare there, but I'm pleased to tell you that with the absence of the abomination that was concealed in your scar, your body has healed itself and is now what it would have been if your parents had never died and the horcrux was never there." the goblin said with look of satisfaction.
Harry sat in shock for a moment "How long was I unconscious." he asked stretching his arms and legs noticing the latter were nearly eight inches longer than they were when he arrived in Paris, the former were around five inches longer giving him impressive reach.
"Nearly two days now."
"Two days, what's been happening, has anyone noticed my absence?"
"Oh yes Lord Potter, Albus Dumbledore has been raising quite a fuss in
Britain trying to find you. You'll be interested to know that your former residence was burned to the ground by deatheaters once the magic protecting it failed, though your relatives escaped with their lives."
"We'll that's good I suppose, can't say that I would have been to broken up about it if they had died, they were no family to me, we just happened to share my mother's blood." Harry said, showing no emotion about the matter.
"Well other than that not much has happened, your departure went mostly unnoticed but for a few people from both sides of the conflict who investigated when the blood wards number four privet drive failed after you left, the ministry wrote you it off as you going on a much deserved holiday, though from what I'm told your aunts home burning down raised a few eyebrows."
"What about when I passed out, why did it happen?"
"As far we can tell the power of both of the lordship rings encountered what is known to goblins as a soul anchor, but wizards who know about them call them horcruxes, the rings absorbed all useful knowledge from it and destroyed what was left of it."
"They absorbed Voldemort's knowledge."
"Oh yes, you should now know all that he knew at the time the horcrux was made."
"Well I don't feel like taking over the world and subjugating the muggleborns so that's must mean I didn't get any of his emotions or opinions so that's good.
"Yes, the scans we used showed that the rings only absorbed useful information." the goblin said with a chuckle.
"So what about Danika and Gabby, have they been informed that I'm here?"
"Miss Delacour was indeed informed, we sent her a letter informing her and her family that you were here and would like to speak see them if possible, the sisters were here within minutes of the letter reaching its destination, made quite a fuss I might add." the goblin said laughing good-naturedly about the young blonde braking through two lines of goblin guards on speed alone to get to her soul-bound.
Anyone who could outmaneuver the elite goblin guard with that level of ease was someone they wanted as an ally, so Kronek had waved the guards off and handled the situation himself offering the girl a future with the bank if she wished possibly as a cursebreaker or bodyguard to a high-level executive, maybe even for himself as power seemed to just roll off the girl, and silver blue eyes shined with an intelligence that he'd rarely seen in one so young.
He'd taken the girls to his office to explain what had happened to Harry, as that seemed to be the only thing Gabrielle was concerned with at that had taken the better part of an hour to tell them that whole story and keep gabby from storming the infirmary to see for herself that Harry was in fact still alive. Kronek had convinced Gabby that Harry's' body needed time to heal.
"They've been staying at the bank since they arrived, the older Miss Delacour has been handling your estate on your behalf, and quite well I might add we wouldn't mind in the slightest if she continued as your liaison that is assuming you don't wish to handle it yourself."
Harry smiled at that, he had always liked Fleur and not just for her good looks, though to be honest that was a plus. She may have misjudged him at first but she had more than made up for it since then. Harry knew Fleur and Gabby were true friends. And with him and Gabby being bonded or at least partially bonded added a whole element to that friendship.
Harry swung his legs out of the bed, barely keeping his balance due to his increased height, realizing a few seconds later that he was completely naked. He waved his wand hand thinking of a pair of blue jeans, a white button down shirt, black leather belt and black combat boots. A smile crossed his face when saw they appeared on the bed, dressing quickly before being handed a dragon hide jacket that looked not unlike a mugger biker jacket. Given that Harry knew a fair amount about dragons now that he had Toms' knowledge, he knew that dragon hide was harder than diamond and could block almost any single curse or spell that's why dragons were so hard to kill.
"Ah it fits you marvelously, you'll need that for Lord Blacks' gift he left for you in a vault he set up for just this occasion." Kronek said as Harry pulled the jacket, which felt weightless despite its toughness, on zipping it halfway up he stowed his wand in the inner right pocket.
"What gift would that be Kronek?"
"I'm afraid I'm not allowed to say."
Ten minutes later harry stood before a gleaming Red 1995 Harley Davidson Night-Train, a bike harry had seen a picture of in a book during primary school and had always dreamed of buying if he ever had the money for one. After learning of the magical world he had forgotten about the bike. He must have mentioned it to Sirius at some point, harry smiled seeing the bike knowing Sirius must have intended them to ride motorcycles together. It made him sad to think that they would never get the chance.
Harry felt a warm hand pressed itself into his palm and laced its fingers through his, electricity seemed to run through his veins and into his heart. He looked to his left to see a head of silver blonde hair, big blue eyes and a brilliant smile looking back at him. It was Gabby, gone was the cute childish appearance, Gabriel had blossomed into a beautiful young woman. Before she had looked like a miniature Fleur, now she was distinctively different. Where Fleur was willowy and wisp like, Gabriel was angelic and seem to give off an inner light.
Harry didn't hesitate, he scooped her up into his arms and spun her around. She leaned down capturing his lips, unable to hold back the laugh that escaped her. It was a laugh of pure bliss, one that only those who find their soulmate ever experience. He sat her back on her feet after a few moments, their lips still locked. It took several moments later for them to separate. Neither of the other two occupants of the vault were willing to risk their limbs trying to pull the two apart.
"I'm so sorry love." Harry said hanging his head, Gabrielle placed her hands on either side of his face and made him look at her.
"You have nothing to be sorry for, it wasn't your fault those enfoiré's played with our memories." She said looking irritated
"Gabby, language" fleur said trying to chastise her sister for cursing, the rebuke fell on deaf ears as Gabrielle was still working to convince Harry that he wasn't at fault for the time they had lost. The way Harry was that was no mean feat, he had always been one to shoulder burdens even if they weren't his to shoulder. Turning away from the war that had claimed his family was the first step down the long road to becoming the person he was meant to be. He had cast off that burden, a burden he had realized that should never have been his to begin with. Dumbledore had decided, the night he had used the Imperius Curse on Sybill Trelawney, to saddle an unborn child with the destiny of dying at right time to clean up the mess Dumbledore had made with Tom Riddle.
Harry shook his head to clear away the angry thoughts of just how much Albus Dumbledore had fucked up his life, deciding instead to focus on the beautiful girl in front of him and the shiny red motorcycle of to his right.
"Want to go for a ride love?" Harry asked with a crooked smile on his lips that made Gabrielle a little weak in the knees.
"Hell yes" she said, her eyes following the curving form of the steel horse as she'd heard some people call motorcycles. Kronek cleared his throat and chuckled saying
"Not inside the bank if you wouldn't mind my young friends, things are still a bit tense after the young mademoiselle Delacours' display of power earlier," causing gabby to blush slightly ."I shudder to think of the utter bedlam that a young witch and wizard on an enchanted motorcycle would cause."
"Fair enough I still need to go find my sister anyway." Harry said as he shrunk the bike down until it was only about two inches before scooping it up and placing in the pocket of his new jacket.
"Your zister, you ave a zister." Gabrielle said, her French accent coming in stronger than before making Harry chuckle which made Gabrielle gave him dirty look.
"Yes I have sister, I've never met her but she lives here in Paris, which was where I was going to head before I collapsed.
"Well then let's go meet her, if she's anything like her brother then I'm sure she and I will get along just fine." Gabrielle said taking Harrys' arm and walked out leaving Fleur and Kronek standing there trying to figure out what had just happened. The goblin quickly pursued them with fleur on his heels, the vault closing on its own after the four occupants had left the room. Fleur groaned, maman and papa would not be pleased to know that Gabby out gallivanting all over Paris on a motorbike, even if it was with Harry.
Harry and Gabrielle made their way through the bank walking for about five minutes before they made it to the surface level, by which time Kronek and an irate Fleur had caught up to them.
"Do be careful Harry, Dumbledore may have sent his agents to intercept you." Kronek cautioned
"If he did I'm sure they would be very interested to know that he had me under so many enchantments," harry said "personally I hope he sent Snape to collect me if only so I can run him over with my new bike."
"Or maybe throw him in the Seine river" Gabrielle suggested with a dark smile
"Or off the top of Notre Dame." Fleur added, she had violently disliked the greasy haired bat of a potions master when she had visited Hogwarts. "And you get to explain to mozzer and fazzer why you aren't wiz me when I arrive ome."
"So just tell them where I am, I'm sure they'll understand." Gabrielle said
By that point they had reached the front entrance. Two guards stood on either side of the large golden door. The inner most two of the four goblins crossed their halberds but were waved off by Kronek. Harry shook the little mans' rough clawed hand and said,
"Thanks for everything Kronek, I'll have you over for dinner when I get settled somewhere."
"I would be honored my Lord."
"We'll floocall the house when we get to Harrys' sisters' home, assuming she has a fireplace." Gabrielle told Fleur making her grumble slightly but hugged her sister none the less.
"Be safe." Fleur said
From there the walked down the crowded street of what was clearly the magical district of Paris. Once they had reached the exit in Paris proper Harry re-enlarged the bike and transfigured a couple of loose cobble stone into full face helmets and handed the slightly smaller one to Gabriel who had quickly braided her hair so that it hung close to her neck and wouldn't get caught in the helmet.
The pair tore through the streets of Paris for the better part of an hour searching for the right address. As it turned out Danika and her guardian lived in an elegant chateau. Pulling up the front gate Harry, after killing the bike and pulling off his helmet, pushed the call button on what looked like a muggle intercom. A second later a womans' face appeared on the screen attached to the speaker. She spoke rapid French which Gabrielle replied to in equally rapid French after a bit of back and forth the gate opened and Harry drove up to the front steps which Harry could tell were made of polished marble. The mahogany front door opened to reveal an older lady in dark muggle business-wear. Harry walked up the steps with Gabrielle a step behind him to and his right. As soon as harry mounted the last step he found himself staring down the barrel of silver plated and clearly enchanted handgun.
Authors note: wow this took so long to finish but I'm actually pretty happy with the way it turned out. Now I have my computer situation sorted out so I should be able to produce chapters a lot faster, I hope no promises on when the next chapter is going to be done but I would hazard a guess to say within the next month. I hope you guys enjoy, leave me review to let me know what you think. Fingers crossed until next time.
