"Nice hotel room." Jade said after entering his suite and taking a look around. "Thanks, the closet is over there." He said pointing at the sliding doors by the bathroom.
Jade immediately started looking through his clothes. "There are so many striped and long sleeved shirts are these skinny jeans?" she gave him a hopeless look while showing him the offending garment. Freddie looked up from his phone and furrowed his eyebrows "what's wrong with them I thought all the girls and- "
"Exactly all the girls." She interrupted him as she walked passed him to the sliding doors that led to the balcony, "Jade, what are you doing?" he followed just in time to see her throw his jeans off the terrace. "What did you do that for, I just got those, I see many guys wearing those is that not what's in style right now." He half screamed. She rolled her eyes and walked back inside, he looked below to see someone picking up the jeans as well as screaming to his friends to come check them out. Freddie shook his head, taking a deep breath and walking back inside.
He saw Jade on his bed sitting down leaning back on her two hands looking at him expectedly. "Trust me skinny jeans are meant for girls. I honestly don't know how guys fit their junk in there, I mean those jeans are so small whoever wears them is practically saying 'look girls if I can fit in here, you're not interested.' " she finished her mini rant with an annoyed look , Freddie was trying not to laugh at what she said but failed as he let out a hearty laugh, Jade took a look at him and softly chuckled.
"Yeah, your right I never thought about it in that way, well, good thing I never put them on." He breathed out coming out of his laughing high.
Jade stood up got her bag, turned to him and told him, "of course you guys don't, most guys don't think before they do or speak."
Freddie smiled softly at her as Jade continued to speak, "Now before we leave this room we need to get one thing straight, I'm in charge you do as I say, understand."
Freddie stood up straight put his hands behind his back and said, "Yes ma'am!" Jade narrowed her eyes "not good enough, put your right hand over your heart raise your left hand and repeat after me 'I Fredward Benson promise I will not question any of Jade West choices today for I know they are to at the end benefit me."
His eyes softened giving her a genuine smile, he raised his hands and repeated everything she had uttered. He took her hand and led her out the door.

It took them about 20 minutes to find a parking spot, as soon as Freddie opened her car door they heard someone whisper "Hey sweetie isn't that over there the boy you watch online?" Jade quickly got the cap he had been wearing these past days and out it on him. The girl turned around to see if what her mom had said was true, she looked to him and turned back to her mother rolling her eyes, "No mom, they look nothing alike plus, that guy is waaay better looking and what would he be doing here in L.A."
Jade took his hand and quickly tried to walk pass the bickering teenager and her mother, she let out a breath when they had left them behind, "that was close keep the hat on don't want anybody to disrupt our makeover session, now do we?"
"Yeah that was close but, are you sure, I can take the hat off, I don't want you to feel that I'm embarrassed of you because that is far from the truth."
"No, you were right the other day, if someone recognizes you it can ruin your plans and the other day I was acting stupidly like an insecure little girl, I thought for a second that you were him, but you're not him, I'm sorry ." she said with a hurt expression.
He stopped them from walking any further and pulled them aside, he took her head in his hands and looked straight in her eyes "You have nothing to be sorry about. You were hurt by somebody that you loved or still love I don't really know, but don't ever feel bad for wanting to be appreciated and not to be looked on with disappointment because the truth is, everyone wants to feel loved and accepted we're only humans we all need some reassurance once in a while." One lone tear feel from her eye he quickly kissed it away she smiled softly at him and hugged him "thank you," she whispered to him.
Once they pulled apart he smiled at her held her hand and asked "are we ready to start."
"Yes we are, after today you are going to have trouble keeping the girls off you." He chuckled and followed her as she lead the way, he didn't know what came over him he wanted to kiss her, he wanted to kiss all her insecurities and pain away. He wanted to beat the shit out of her ex-boyfriend for hurting her, how he could not love someone so honest, beautiful and strong willed. He knew that he had to stop thinking this way this wasn't the first time this had happened but he didn't want to have another Carly situation loving someone that only saw you as a friend.
Jade pulled him in to Aldo's and started looking for shoes. "What size are you," she asked him, "Nine" he responded, she nodded and asked the sale lady to bring her the shoe she chose in his size. While they waited for her to come back she turned to him and asked him "So, how much money am I allowed to spend? Because I at least need $500."
He smirked at her "you are allowed to spend one thousand" her mouth fell open in shock he just started laughing the face she made was priceless. The saleslady asked her if she was okay, she recovered and nodded the woman gave him the shoes to try on then left. While he tried them on she asked him "are you playing around or are you for real's."
"I'm serious, look I win a lot of money plus tips I can spend more but I think one gran is fine to start out with. Don't worry about the money, you just start buying. These are some cool boots I would of have never thought of buying them for myself."
"Of course there nice boots I know how to pick, and are sure you want to spend that much?" she asked again she didn't want him to spend so much money, he had college he needed to think about. "Yes, I'm sure now let's go buy these." While they were waiting in line to pay Freddie's phone rang, he took it out of his pocket and his eyes widened when he saw who it was.
"Who is it?"
"My mom." He said still looking at the ringing phone in his hand.
"Well answer it, here give me the shoes I'll pay for them while you talk to her." She took the box of boots from his hand and pushed him towards the door. Freddie smiled, gave her his credit card and walked out.
When it was her turn to pay for the shoes the saleslady asked her "Did you find everything ok?"
"Yes I did, thank you."
"McGary brown boots very good choice. Your boyfriend looked really good in them."
"He's not-"
"You better hurry up and not leave him all alone out there that long, all the girls are looking like they want to walk up to him. Better go out there and claim what's yours. Your total is $170."
Jade handed her the credit and looked outside and saw that she was right a lot of the girls were checking him out and some were starting to come his way. She felt a spark of possessiveness towards him and didn't know why, it wasn't like he was hers. They were just friends and nothing else the saleslady gave her, her purchase and credit card before she shooed her away.
Freddie had just gotten off the phone when he spotted her, he smiled brightly walking over to her throwing his arm around her shoulders "where to next?"
Jade looked at the girls that were previously gawking at him to see them glaring at her. She looked up at him while he walked them away she couldn't help but smile. He was showing everyone there that he came with her, that he wasn't interested. Beck never did that with her he would purposefully goad her to get her all riled up then later would blame her for them not having a pleasant evening. In that moment she felt wanted not like she was an unnecessary load. She smirked at the girls and put her arm around his waist and pulled him in to another store.

"Are we done shopping I'm getting hungry." He complained, they had been in stores since the morning, she had gotten him so many clothes he didn't know if they were going to fit in his suitcase he had brought from home. "Yes we are done, now stop whining so much we just need to do one more stop before we go to eat."
"Oh thank God, I was worried I thought we were only half way done." He picked up the last bags and started to walk towards the car.
Jade took hold of his arm and pulled him towards another direction. "Where are we going now, I thought you said we were done shopping," she rolled her eyes "you are such a big baby, we are done this is our last stop." She pointed towards the shop next to the kid's playground.
"A hair salon, why would we go there your hair looks fine."
"Oh, I know my hair is fine, it's not for me you need a different cut." She pushed him inside and waved somebody over. A young lady in her early twenties with short black spiked up hair and big brown eyes came towards them.
"Hi, Jade what brings you by didn't I just cut your hair recently."
"Hi Ash, yes you did, but I was wondering if you can cut my friends hair, you know give him a new modern look." She took off Freddie's hat and ruffled his hair around "what do you think?"
"Yeah I can, go ahead and sit down while I get my scissors." She told them while pointing to the chair and walking away. "Jade? Are you sure about this, I know I let my hair grow a little too long I think my hair looks fine maybe it just needs a trim, but not a whole different hairstyle."
"C'mon Freddie you promised that you would trust me don't worry it's not like I'm going to tell her to leave you bald or have her shave one side but not the other." She clasped her hands together and gave him her puppy dog eyes. Freddie smiled "Fine, I'll go sit down since I don't have an option."
He turned around and started to take off his hoodie when Jade couldn't take her eyes off him she was mesmerized by the way his muscles where moving. She also saw a pretty good amount of skin when the shirt was starting to come off with the sweatshirt she could see a peak of his six pack and a trail of fine hairs that disappeared into his jeans. She suddenly wanted to run her hands down his chest and feel the smooth skin beneath her fingertips. Jade quickly snapped out of her daze before Freddie noticed that she was ogling him. She turned to see Ash walking back to them with scissors and hair clippers in hand.
"So, do you have any specific type of cut in mind?" She handed Jade a book of men's hairstyles, Freddie was looking nervously at Jade trying to see if her face was giving anything of her choice away, but she was too busy flipping through the book to notice.
"Not really, um I was thinking along the lines of somethi- oh wait how bout this one." She showed Ash the one she thought would look perfect on him. Ash nodded and started to get the robe to put on him. "Um, Jade can you hold these for me," Freddie handed her his hat and hoodie, she walked up to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek "don't be nervous you'll look great," she whispered she put on his hat and took his sweatshirt, "I'm going to put all the bags in the car I'll be right back."
When she came back she saw them talking and laughing that was the second time today she felt a spark of ownership towards him, she just sat down and kept watch but not before catching his eye through the mirror and him giving her a wink. She smiled at him and continued her watch on the hairstylist she noticed that whenever Ash could she would run her hands along his neck or would playfully hit him, she also saw she would give him the famous shy smile and compliment him, she even offered that if he ever needed help styling his hair he was more than welcomed to call her. She wasn't loving any bit of this flirt show she was currently witnessing to his credit Freddie wasn't flirting back he was only being polite answering questions but she just wanted her to be done cutting his hair so they can leave and be the only one to have his attention. She inwardly gasped because she knew that she was falling under his spell and it had only been three days since she had seen him.
Freddie wasn't oblivious to the hairstylist flirting but he was more interested in Jade's reaction to her. He would see how Jade had lost that relaxed and easy going expression she had been sporting for most of the day. She was now wearing a guarded look directed towards the hair cutter, he saw how her leg kept bouncing up and down impatiently and he definitely didn't miss the way her hands balled into fist when Ash suggested he give her a call. He didn't want to get his hopes up but he couldn't help but notice that the way she was acting was more of a jealous girlfriend more than a friend. He knew that it was still too early to be boyfriend-girlfriend since they were establishing a friendship but maybe later on they can take that step but if he wanted that to happen he had to show her he was interested but in a subtle way.
"There you go, you look great." Ash was checking him out and wasn't being discreet, Jade came his way, he turned to her "what do you think do I look like a model?" he made a pose that made her laugh. "Oh yeah, just like a model." They smiled at each other until Ash touched his arm and gave him a seductive smile "I have to agree with Jade, you look like a hot model indeed."
Freddie pulled jade into a hug kissed the top of her head, "is that so, do you think I can beat the Hollister guys." Jade smiled at the fuming girl, she won his attention, "of course you can beat them any day." As they were walking out he turned to her "you look cute that hat it works for you." She just blushed and continued walking to the car telling him where she wanted to eat.

The waiter had just left with their order when 'Click' was all Jade heard before she turned to see Freddie laughing at the picture he took of her, "you took a picture without me knowing, is it that bad you had to laugh, let me see it." She tried to take away the phone but he wouldn't let her, "no it's not bad here let me show it to you, you look adorable I just had to snap a picture." He showed her the phone and she looked happy she had a small smile and he was right she looked cute in the hat. "You're lucky I look good or else I would of have made you delete it."
"So what do you work in? It must be a good job if you can spend that much money in one day." She asked while sipping her drink.
"I work in a gym, I'm the boxing and a weight instructor. If someone wants me to spot them they have to pay and I get some percentage of what they paid. The more kids that enroll in box the more pay I get, plus tips which is where I get most of the money. "
"You know how to box that means you must be good if you're the instructor and get tips?"
He chuckled "I don't want to brag but I am quite good at boxing but that's not why I get tipped most guys that specifically ask for me to spot them, tip me so I can get a pretty girl to come over get them talking and leave so that they can spot each other. Certain girls also do that which is fine by me cuz the more they want me to leave the more money I get. Some parents give me money to give their kid's special help, but a selected amount of girls tip me to see me without a shirt."
Jade was surprised to hear that, which caused her to choke on her drink, the waiter had just set down their food asked her if she was ok. She nodded and looked to Freddie that was almost dying of laughter, "do girls really ask you that?"
"Yeah they do, one time this girl gave me 100 just to feel my shirt."
"Wow, that's desperate."
"I know, but what can you do."
"Not much I guess, what do you want to do tomorrow? Do you want to keep touring the city or you just want to hang out and have a break of all the walking we have done." She asked him before taking a bite out of her food, she patiently waited for him to finish chewing to answer her.
"I would love to just hang out but I don't know what time I'm going to get done tomorrow. I'm meeting with the dean to get a look around the school and talk classes and scholarships."
"Well when you get done you can come over and we'll just watch movies and have a relaxing day while you tell me all about what you settled." He nodded and heard the ping of a new text message he took it out to see a message from Sam and Carly, he scoffed after he read them.
"What?"
"I got a text from Carly and Sam, Carly's says Freddie your still part of the team and need to help, text or e-mail us some suggestion for next week segment. Sam's says just because I'm not there doesn't mean I can just leave them all the work and that if I don't help there will be hell to pay when I get back."
"Tell them where they can shove it up, you're on vacation let them see all the work you do." She blew out an irritated breath and started to look through the desert menu.
"How about I don't answer back, so are you sure you don't mind spending time with me tomorrow, I mean I kept you from your friends for a couple of days now."
"You getting tired of me already." She joked, but in reality she hoped he wasn't because she enjoyed spending time with him, when they were together their time would always fly, when their day ended she couldn't wait for tomorrow because that meant she got to see him again.
"No, I was kinda hoping to spend the whole week I was here with you. If that's ok with you, of course." He said motioning to her with his hand. She nodded "I'll allow it, but only because I already have the week planned out." She inwardly did a happy dance that he wanted to spend as much time with her as she wanted with him.
"Well good, but I still feel like I'm taking your time away from them-" she was about to start complaining when he held a hand up for her to let him finish. "Why don't you hang out with your friends for the beginning of the day, while I'm busy and later when I'm done we can hang out."
"I guess I can spend some time with Cat she's texted me if I wanted to hang out with the rest of them these past days but I declined."
"See there we go now I feel better. That's nice of her though to invite you, is that who you were texting all day today?"
"Yeah, she has been worried about me since she hasn't seen me. She thinks I have been cooped up in my house these past days having a relapse and moping about Beck, but the fact is that is far from the truth, I haven't been home and I'm completely over Beck."
"Well that's good to hear, you are completely over the guy that broke your heart. Cat sounds like a really good friend and from what you told me about Tori she seems like one too. I find it a bit envious on my part that you know who your true friends are, you have friends that you know will have your back no matter what. "
"I know Cat will always be by my side she is my best friend after all, but Tori I don't think so."
"Why not Tori, I mean she helped you get back together with Beck, and she helped you put up the play you envisioned for your dad to see. If she wasn't your friend she wouldn't of have helped you and sometimes friends fight over things it's not always roses. We have to be nice to have people be nice to us."
Jade nodded finally seeing that she did have friends that cared it was just her meanness that was keeping them at arm's length. She had what Freddie always wanted what he deserved to have, friends something she took for granted. She made a mental note to be nicer to her friends for her and Freddie's sake.

They had stopped by Jet Brew to get some coffee and desert to finish their meal. Jade had asked him if he wanted to meet Cat she promised that Cat could keep a secret that he didn't need to worry about her.
"So do you want to meet her, I don't know how she does it but she can make even the grumpiest of people smile, I should know she makes me smile. So what do you say? " she gave him her puppy dog eyes and stuck out her bottom lip for extra effect.
"Ok, I want to meet the person that must be so special she holds the dignified place to be called your best friend." He finally relented with a small smile if Jade said that Cat could keep a secret then he believed her.

"Well miss West I believe this is where our journey ends, I will see you tomorrow have fun with Cat and try not to miss me too much." Freddie teased her as he parked the car in her driveway.
"You don't need to worry about me, but you on the other hand how much will you miss me."
"Ah, you got me there I'll try not to miss you too much, but even I know that I will have to count down the hours until I see your beautiful face again. Come on let me walk you to the door."
"You don't have to-"
"Yes I do, or else the gentleman in me won't let me sleep at night."
He went around to open her door and started to walk her to her door where the porch light was on. He gave her a tight hug and whispered "thank you". Jade closed her eyes enjoying the feeling of being in his arms. He kissed her cheek and right before he went to pull away their faces were so close together he could count the freckles on her nose. They both leaned in at the same time but in that moment Mrs. West chose to open the front door.
"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't mean to interrupt I just got a little worried since you were taken a bit too long. Well I'm going to go back inside go ahead and finished were you left off." She wished she just would of have waited inside.
Freddie and Jade had jumped apart when they heard the door open and were now standing nervously looking everywhere but each other. "No, its ok I was just leaving thank you both for everything, well goodnight."
Jade cursed her mother's bad timing, she saw Freddie looking very uncomfortable she quickly asked him "you are coming to tomorrow right?" she didn't want to sound desperate but she knew she did she didn't want this almost kiss to ruin their friendship or bubbling romance.
"Yeah, of course wouldn't miss it, I'll be here. Goodnight Jade, have a lovely evening Mrs. West. " he gave Jade a smile a small wave and left.
Mrs. West tried to apologize to her daughter, but Jade just gave her an exasperated look and left her standing on the porch by herself. She heard her door slam shut and cursed herself for her bad timing.
So... tell me what you think in the box below.
