*peeks around the corner* Please don't hurt me, I know I've been gone for a long time. Sadly life just got in the way of writing but I can say that I already have the next chapter outlined and ready to be typed up. I'm hoping to have it up sometime in the next couple of weeks. Please enjoy my latest chapter and I hope it lives up to your expectations.
"One does not refuse the Goddess' summons." Fi pushed trying to get Ghirahim to realize the importance of going.
"The hell is your problem? Can't you see she's still struggling?" Groose spat in annoyance at the sword spirit, still unsure of what to make of her. "Just give them some time alone!"
"The Goddess was already kind enough to give them a whole day together. And he has been spending the past two days with her after disobeying the Goddess' direct order to return to his mission." Fi reasoned with a very upset Groose.
"Can't you see that she still needs me?" Ghirahim asked Fi as calmly as he could muster hoping to get his point across to the unfeeling sword spirit.
"My master shows a 100% chance of surviving her wounds and injuries. I fail to see in what way you are still required that this other cannot take your place." Fi droned on still not understanding what was wrong with them and why they couldn't follow a simple order.
"Fi, the only way you are getting me out of here right now is if the Goddess suddenly decides that Link can come with. I'm not leaving her alone ever again." Ghirahim seethed as he held Link carefully.
Link clung to him tightly before leaning into his ear. "We really shouldn't upset the Goddess." Link whispered quietly. Ghirahim sighed before standing with Link in his arms; Link struggled a little in his arms. "Ghirahim, I can stand on my own. Just let me lean on you." She said softly. Ghirahim frowned before setting her on her feet; she wobbled a little but stood strong. Link smiled at Ghirahim shyly.
"I don't think the Goddess will be pleased." Fi said critically as she watched them.
Link smoothed out her dress as she tried to look somewhat presentable. She grabbed the master sword and waited for Fi to return to the holy blade. Fi reluctantly returned to the master sword. Link turned to Ghirahim and waited for him to join her. They walked slowly to the Goddess statue and when they arrived Link plunged the master sword into the ground in front of them. "Your Highness? You wished to speak to me?" Ghirahim said harshly as he bowed to the master sword mockingly. Link held closely to Ghirahim.
"You disobeyed me." The Goddess said shortly as she spoke directly through Fi who had started her usual dance. "I told you to return to your quest once she woke. And when I summoned you, you refused and on top of that you brought Link with you." She said angrily which caused Fi to spin furiously and move more violently.
Link suddenly gasped out loudly in shock as she grabbed her head and doubled over in pain. "Link? Link! Are you okay? Speak to me!" Ghirahim begged her desperately, fear written all over his face.
Fi abruptly stopped and moved closer to Link looking directly at her. "She has received a vision. You must go back to the surface. This task will require both of you. Go quickly and once you are done return here immediately." She demanded sternly.
Ghirahim looked at her in confusion and annoyance. "What in the name of the Goddess is going on?" He asked as Link suddenly grabbed the master sword and started dragging him over to the nearest dock.
"No time, you'll see when we get there, but we have to go now." Link said as she wrapped her arms around Ghirahim and threw them off of the platform and into the sky. Ghirahim was honestly concerned about the fact that they were free falling until Link whistled sharply for her loft wing which quickly swooped in and caught them with little complaint. Link quickly took the reins and urged her bird to the green light that shone brightly in front of them. As they neared Link rolled her bird and jumped off. In his shock Ghirahim wrapped his arms around her waist and hoped for the best. She pulled out her sail cloth and managed to land them safely on the surface in the Sealed Grounds. As they looked around the ground began to shake as the Imprisoned broke free of the seal and roared angrily into the air.
"So that's what he looks like now." Ghirahim said in wonder as Link suddenly without warning lunged forward and started jumping down level to level until she was only a few feet away from the towering beast. Ghirahim quickly teleported next to her and looked up at the deformed form of his old master. He summoned his black blade and after a quick glance at each other they both plunged into battle together. The Imprisoned took notice of Ghirahim joining in on attacking him. It focused its attacks on him, throwing him against the walls and stomping on him whenever it could. Ghirahim cried out in pain as he was flung against the wall hard. He slumped to the ground with a whimper.
Link screamed helplessly as she watched him crash into the wall. Her eyes flashed dangerously as she threw herself at the Imprisoned and beat it back until it collapsed to the ground weakly and she sealed it once more. She panted heavily before rushing to Ghirahim's side. "Ghirahim? Goddess, hang in there, please." She begged him as she pulled him carefully onto her lap. As she looked down at him she caught sight of her heart container. "Ghirahim, please stay with me, I'm going to try something."
Ghirahim coughed and gasped as he weakly look up at her. "…Li…nk…"
Link tried to remember what Ghirahim did when he saved her. She put a shaking hand over her heart and focused on her feelings for the man on her lap. Her hand started to glow a gentle red color as it pulsed quickly along with her frightened heart. Ghirahim watched her tiredly as she pulled her glowing hand away from her chest and placed it against Ghirahim's chest. "I love you, Ghirahim." She said softly as she watched the magic flow through his weakened body.
Ghirahim was in shock as the magic coursed through him. "Link, are you sure?" He asked softly as he looked at the newly formed heart container that now hung around his neck.
Link smiled through her tears. "Yes, I've never been so sure of anything." She said quietly. Ghirahim smiled and brushed away her tears before kissing her lovingly. After a few moments of quietly holding onto each other and calming down they dusted themselves off and teleported back to the Goddess statue.
When they arrive at the Goddess statue Link plunged the master sword back into the ground and called out to the Goddess. Fi flipped out of the master sword and twirled happily in front of them. "I see that you were successful in resealing the Imprisoned, I also see that you have made your decision, Link. Well done, I am most pleased with both of you but I'm afraid that you must part ways for now and finish your respective missions." Fi said joyfully as she danced around in front of them.
"What! Are you serious? I'm not letting Link out of my sight again!" Ghirahim roared in rage. Link quickly put her hand on his chest and shook her head.
"No, I think this is for the best. I'm so close to finding Zelda and when you are done with your mission you can join me." Link explained hurriedly to Ghirahim who looked displeased but sighed in defeat.
"Fine, but I don't like it." He said softly as he hugged her gently.
"I would like to request a favor though." Link asked hesitantly.
Fi paused in her dancing and nodded. "And what would that be, hero?"
Link took a deep breath. "I think Groose would be of great help on the surface, he's smart and could at least keep the Imprisoned from escaping the sealed grounds until I can get there." She said quickly hoping that the Goddess would agree.
To Link's surprise the Goddess laughed at the suggestion. "It was only a matter of time until his destiny called him to the surface. Yes, of course, take Groose with you to the surface it is time for him to begin his journey." Fi danced excitedly as the Goddess spoke. "Go now, find Groose and tell him to prepare himself. Rest for tonight, for tomorrow you must leave." Fi took a bow before flipping back into her blade. Link pulled the master sword from the ground before turning to face Ghirahim who looked dejected.
Link sighed. "I'm sorry Ghirahim but it won't be for very long and I'll be safe." She promised softly as she gazed up at him.
Ghirahim exhaled softly before looking down at her and smiling. "As long as this is what you want I'll go along with it." He pulled her close and kissed her forehead.
"We should go tell Groose what's going on." Link said as she reluctantly pulled away from Ghirahim. He nodded and teleported them to her room. As Link was about to leave her room she walked past her mirror and noticed that her white dress was covered in dirt and blood as well as ripped in a few places. "Ghirahim? Would you mind looking away so I can change into something not soaked in blood?" She asked shyly.
Ghirahim took a good look at the two of them in the mirror and noted that his clothing hadn't faired too well in the battle either. "Of course, sky child. I'll also have to change." He said despondently as he plucked at his top before turning away to give her some privacy.
Link rolled her eyes at the nickname, she had come to like it but would never admit it to Ghirahim or she'd never hear the end of it. She stripped the ruined dress off and forlornly dropped it to the ground where it made a distasteful wet sound. "Ew." She grabbed her spare knight's uniform and quickly changed into it. A loud snap could be heard behind her causing her to whirl around in alarm only to see Ghirahim with his back still to her and his arm raised in the air, clearly the origin of the sound. It was then that Link noticed that Ghirahim's clothes were once more perfect and devoid of dirt or blood. "Lucky." Link muttered under her breath.
Ghirahim looked over his shoulder with a smirk. "I know." He said smugly as he turned around properly to face her.
Link huffed as she feigned annoyance. "Let's go find Groose." She said with a smile. Ghirahim smiled as they walked out of her room and walked over to Groose's door and knocked on it. "Groose? Are you in there? We need to talk."
Groose opened his door and looked surprised to see Link back in her knight's uniform but shook it off. "Hey Link. What's up?" He asked as he let them into his room.
"We were just at the Goddess statue speaking to the Goddess and she wants you to help us on the surface." Link said tentatively as she watched her much larger classmate hoping he wouldn't become angry.
Much to her surprise he looked excited and almost giddy at the idea. "You mean it get to help out? Oh man, Zelda will no doubt hear how helpful I was and fall in love with me!" Groose said ecstatically to himself momentarily forgetting that Link and Ghirahim were in the room until he heard an adorably feminine giggle only to realize it was Link.
Ghirahim and Groose both stood looking at Link in shock, neither of them had ever heard her giggle before. She blushed when she noticed them staring at her in shock. "Sorry. But in all seriousness you don't have to try that hard to get her to notice you. The only thing you ever really did that she hated was when you would beat me up, but I don't think that's going to be a problem anymore." She said with a sly grin causing Groose to blush brightly.
"So I take it that you are in?" Ghirahim asked with a smirk.
Groose nodded excitedly. "Yes, I'm in."
"Perfect, tomorrow morning we'll meet you in front of the Goddess statue. Make sure you have everything you need, you may be down there for awhile." Link said with a smile. "Tomorrow we're going to the surface."
Please let me know what you think, just remember no flaming. Thank you for your time!
