A/N: Final chapter! I hope you enjoy, sorry for the delay c:
DEADLOX'S P.O.V
It was around my thirty-fourth day of living in the mansion when I decided that I needed my space. Not that I hadn't thought I needed it before but recently the others had been on my case almost constantly. I had just about enough of it! I knew they meant well but they didn't have to treat me like a kid, never mind the fact that I was indeed the youngest in the mansion. I never grew attached to the mansion like I had to Sky's abode in the forest.
It felt weird to think about it now, how I had called that place home even though I had only been living there for a countable amount of days. I continued to quietly pack my things into my bag, or well tattered knapsack was what it actually was. I hadn't exactly told anyone about my leaving but I had decided to just wing it. Hopefully it would all work out and they'd let me go home.
It was kind of a burden actually, to be taken care of. Though usually most believe that it is the other way around but the burden is of an equal amount to both sides. I have to watch my actions, I have to watch my words and I have to make sure not to slip up and cause my friends any more worry than necessary. It's irritating I admit and it seems to toss me into a fouler mood than normal.
I hurriedly shoved my knapsack under the bed as I heard someone climbing up the stairs. "Ty?" I identified the voice as Mitch and replied with a small 'yes'. He opened the door and walked in, sitting on the edge of my bed. "Uhm…" He started and I could tell he didn't know how to address what he was talking about. "Look. I. I know that you're planning on leaving…" His voice quiet, almost as if he didn't want me to hear him. I shook my head in disbelief, my brown bangs tickling my face as they shifted to and fro. How did he know? When did he find out?
Mitch continued to stare at the wall ahead of him, "It was just. Everyone was so preoccupied with what they thought would be best for you that nobody thought for a moment about what you would like. I heard you muttering things well into the night about a forest and a house that you missed and places you'd rather be and I'm not sure if you realised but you voice your thoughts more often than you think." He glanced at the floor and stayed silent for a moment before continuing.
"You spoke about wanting to leave this place because 'everyone was becoming too stifling' for you to handle and such and such. Nobody else really noticed though, so I guess your secret is safe and I know which house you were talking about it. I have no objections, if anything it's probably more relaxing and safer there. I'll try and convince the others when the time comes."
I just stood there, not really knowing how to react. My brain forced me to sputter out a thank you and I took a seat on the bed, not really trusting my legs to hold me upright at the moment. "I-I'm sorry. And thank you, really. It means a lot and I'm really glad to have met you." He stood up and gave me a grin, which I returned, and waved but just before he headed out the door he spoke up, "I didn't tell anyone if you're wondering and I've already forgiven you a hundred times over. I understand that you were in shock and quite upset, it's all in the past." And with that, he was gone.

Two hours had passed since my encounter with Mitch and by that time I had packed everything that I thought necessary into my knapsack. I placed it under the bed once again and headed downstairs for lunch. A relieved smile broke out onto Seto's face as he saw me coming down the stairs and I held back a slight grimace. I knew why he was relieved. I hadn't been eating lunch for the past few days because I had just not felt up to it but the thought of Seto worrying himself sick over me not eating was enough to force myself to go and have lunch with the rest of them no matter how much I didn't want to.
Jerome greeted me as I sat down at the table and before I could even ask, he solemnly shook his head and I already knew what he meant. No news about Sky's whereabouts or whether he was even alive or not.
Brice made his way out of the kitchen and set the table before taking a seat. Seto came in soon after and placed the food, which consisted of mushroom soup, steak and bread, down onto the table. Midway through eating Jerome spoke up, "I figure that we give it another week before we declare Sky as K.I.A." A heavy silence fell upon the room and I felt as if my respiratory system had ceased working. Sure I had thought about the possibility of Sky being dead but voicing it? Voicing it was like confirming it and I never ever wanted to confirm it. I quickly excused myself and briskly walked upstairs. Staying here was not an option, especially if I valued my mental health.
SKY'S P.O.V
I had been walking for days now and the only form of 'life' I had come across was an old swamp house. And that was where witches usually resided so I avoided that area all together. I continued onwards, determined to find my way back home. Back to Ty. A day had been wasted as I had mined coal and several ores just in case though now I regretted it somewhat. Surely I didn't need all those materials. My legs were aching but I forced myself to trek on. Now wasn't the time for resting.
A large grin appeared on my face as I spotted what seemed to be a sand village. I praised Notch over and over again and hurried towards the little village in hopes of finding out where I was. By the time I had reached the village, the moon was beginning to rise and I feared for a second that they wouldn't let me into their homes because of the fact that I might attract more zombies.
"Hello?" I spoke up as I knocked on a wooden door. "Yes?" I heard a small mumble from the other side of the door. "I just need a place to rest for the night and by morning I'll be gone. Please let me in! I've been travelling for days and I just need to get back to Spawn City." My voice pleading as I stared at the door. A small amount of shuffling and an open door later, I was greeted by an old woman. "Well, come on in then! The zombies will be roaming around soon and we don't want to be attacked. You're lucky I'm letting you in! Nobody else lives in this village even though there are around four houses."
I smiled gratefully and uttered a 'thanks' as I entered the small building. "So dear, what is your name?" She asked as she walked towards her furnace. "Sky or well Adam." I said and she nodded thoughtfully before pulling something out of a cupboard. "Well Adam you said you needed to get back to Spawn City? That's the city where Delilah's Diamond Armoury is located isn't it?" The old woman questioned as I grinned to myself. She knew!
"Yes! That's the one. Do you happen to know how far it is and the directions to get to it?" I asked, the rush of questions leaving my mouth without my consent. "Dear slow down, an old woman like me can't keep up with energetic youngsters like yourself!" She continued on though, "It's only another two thousand blocks away. You just need to head north and when you reach the edge of a jungle biome, head west and you should end up in Spawn City! After the jungle biome you'll only have about four hundred blocks before you reach the city. Also would you like anything to eat?"
I nodded and spoke words of gratitude to which she simply chuckled. "Be a dear and tell Samuel I said hello while you're there. He never sends me letters anymore, I always have to travel long distances just to get into contact with him. What a little rascal he is!" She exclaimed as she began baking what seemed to be pumpkin pie. I felt my eyebrows furrow as what she had just said sunk in.
"Samuel? The one who works for the Mob Disposal council?" I asked, burying the small bubble of hatred I harboured towards him deep down. "Yes! He's my grandson and I'm the only family he has left! It's tragic what happened to his parents that is." She said as she plated and then placed the pumpkin pie onto the small wooden table. I took a seat only after she did, feeling like it was the polite thing to do.
"His father left them on Samuel's third birthday. Shortly after when he was around three and a half years old, his mother simply couldn't cope with the stress anymore and took her own life. It was quite tragic. I walked into their house one afternoon, all ready to speak to my daughter about coming to live with me but she was just there, lifeless, lying across the couch with a bottle of poison clutched in her hand. And I ran as fast as my legs could carry me the moment I heard the cries of her son. By the time I had grabbed Samuel and returned to the couch, she was gone, despawned I believe…" She finished quietly a grave look replacing her once happy one. She continued prodding at her pumpkin pie before breaking the small silence that had settled, "Dear you can have mine. You look hungry and my appetite seems to have left me."

I woke up the next morning, somewhat groggy yet fully relaxed. I'd be getting home within a maximum of two days! I bid the woman a farewell and promised to give her regards to Samuel. No matter how much I disliked him, I'd have to do it for the kind old lady that was his grandmother. I set off north, my pace quick as I hoped to be in Spawn City within two days. With any luck it would all work out.
I continued walking north until, like the old woman had stated, I reached the edge of a jungle. I made a sharp turn west and made my way to the city. I was so close. Only another four hundred blocks, I thought as I began sprinting, wishing that I had made or brought a potion of swiftness with me.
DEADLOX'S P.O.V
I grabbed my knapsack and slung it over my shoulder before heading downstairs. The conversation, or rather the one line Jerome had said, was still replaying in my mind. My stomach churned at the fact that he had been able to voice those words with such a straight face. I shook my head, trying to clear my mind of those terrible thoughts and images and for once it actually seemed to work.
I walked into the living room where Brice, Seto, Jerome and Mitch were all seated watching television. They were watching a documentary on mobs it seemed. I coughed slightly in order to direct their attention towards me. Seto's face morphed into one of sad acceptance as he saw the knapsack hanging off my shoulder and I almost felt guilty enough to stay but I had already made my decision.
"I'm going back to Sky's old house…" I started, Jerome watching me incredulously. "I don't want to burden you guys any longer and I feel like I'll be better off recovering on my own…I…Thank you for everything guys. I'll visit soon, I promise." I stared at the floor, hoping that they wouldn't put up much of an argument. I felt arms wrap around me firmly before they pulled away, I looked up to see Seto standing and smiling at me. "Well, if that's what you want…" He said and I smiled back, "It is."
Jerome grinned at me and clapped me on the back, I winced a little. Notch he was strong. "Okay then buddy! Don't get into any trouble now then." He moved away as Mitch came forward, "Stay safe…" He mumbled before engulfing me in a hug and pulling away about a minute later. "Sky's alive, don't you worry." He said softly, I nodded. I looked towards Seto once more and saw him poking Brice with his foot. The blonde stepped forward and put out his hand and I shook it in return, chuckling a little. "Thank you guys, really. I guess I'll be going now."
Seto made a dash for the door, "We'll see you out then!" He exclaimed as he held the door open for me. I grinned in reply and walked out. I turned around when I was halfway down the path and saw Seto still standing at the door, "Be sure to visit!" He shouted. I smiled back and yelled, "Will do potion boy!" And as I headed away from the city I thought to myself, I think I'll miss this place.

I made my way through the forest and into the wooden house. It looked a bit dusty but other than that, it seemed as if nobody had ever been missing from it. I pressed the button beside the door and glared as the door closed before I could enter. A sense of déjà vu lingering restlessly in the back of my head. I successfully got into the house on my second try and fished around in the chests for a rag so I could wipe down all the dust.
Eventually I located it and wiped the whole place down before finally flopping onto the couch and curling up, the scent of Sky surrounding me. It was a nice smell. Without realising, I had fallen asleep.
My neck ached when I woke up the next morning and my arm felt a bit funny too, I guess I slept on it or something like that. Being in Sky's house was already helping me relax and recover more than I thought it would. I still felt saddened knowing that he wasn't here with me but the fact that he had decided to share his house with me was a comforting thought. He liked me enough to allow me to live with him. I forced down any depressing thoughts about the topic as I began making breakfast. Slightly upset when I realised I had made breakfast for two and had placed it on Sky's seat at the table.
SKY'S P.O.V
I let out a grin as I saw the stone pathway leading to the city and quickened my pace. I had run straight for around a half a day and my legs were aching and I was just about ready to collapse but no. I had to get to Ty first. Well, I had to talk to Samuel first actually. What a pain that would be. However I made an oath to that woman and I'm not someone who just abandons their promises.
I rushed up to the main building and nearly crashed into a young girl who was standing in front of the door, she managed to step to the side at the last moment though. I hurried towards the stairs and manoeuvred up them two at a time before finally ending up in front of the MD council's door. I let out a few harsh breaths before regaining as much of my composure as I could. I looked out of the window to my left and realised that the sun had begun to set and there was a possibility that the Mob Disposal council didn't even stay this late but I had to try.
I knocked on the door, praying to Notch that they would still be here. The door was flung open by an annoyed looking Samuel. He blinked a few times before he dragged me inside the room. "Sky is alive!" He announced as he shoved me in front of the old men. Their mouths were agape and their eyes were wide, it looked quite comical to be frank but I dared not laugh just in case. "We will have to remove him from the M.I.A list then…" The other two old men nodded at the man's comment.
"Be sure to file a report within two weeks." They all stated in unison before going back to their paperwork. Samuel pulled me to the side shortly after. "Do you know how worried your lover-boy was? He fell into depression! You need to go visit him." I gulped, Ty had fallen into depression? "I-I am…Your grandmother asked me to give you her regards by the way…" I said somewhat awkwardly. He nodded and mumbled something under his breath before waving me off. I took that as my cue to leave and headed out of the building and towards Seto and Brice's mansion.

I reached the mansion fairly quickly and knocked impatiently on the door. I was anxious to see Ty and I wanted to hear about what happened to everyone in the time that I was gone. I heard footfalls on the other side of the door and a small grumble of 'It better not be that prick again'. I raised my eyebrow in bewilderment at the comment. The door opened and Seto was revealed, his eyes wide and voice shaky as he turned around and yelled, "SKY IS ALIVE! HE'S BACK!" I smiled lightly as he ushered me inside.
Jerome and Mitch bounded down the stairs and grinned as they realised that it was actually me. "Hi guys!" I exclaimed as they all hugged me. It took me a moment to realise that Ty wasn't there with them and suddenly my mind was filled with daunting thoughts. "W-Where's Ty?" I couldn't help the slight stutter of my words as I desperately looked around for him, hoping that he would pop out from behind the couch and greet me.
"He…He just left. I'm sorry." How was I supposed to interpret that? Left? Left where? Where did he go? "Where is he?" I asked again, hoping to attain a clearer answer. This time, Brice answered for me. "Don't worry. He's back in your old forest home. Stop wasting time and go get him." He muttered seemingly angry but I realised he wasn't as he gave me a slight grin before shoving me out of the mansion. What was it with people and shoving me today? With happier thoughts on my mind, I began the trek to my house which was located in the forest biome.

When I finally arrived in front of my door, it was well into the night and mobs were spawning everywhere. I pressed the button and entered swiftly, immediately noticing the omelette that was left forgotten on my spot at the table. Was somebody else living with Ty now? Had he moved on? I shook my head, surely not…
I walked down the stairs and into the area where the beds were situated. I smiled softly and bit my lip to stop myself from exclaiming that I was home. His small figure curled up underneath the mass of blankets that were haphazardly placed on top of him and my smile suddenly faltered as I realised what he clutching in his hand. My amulet…He was gripping it so tightly that his knuckles had turned white. I carded a hand through my hair before deciding that I should wake him up now and not wait till morning because Notch knows he'd probably faint or be in shock if I decided to grace him with my presence first thing in the morning.
DEADLOX'S P.O.V
Panic seized me as I realised I was being shook. By who? I had no idea and that's what scared me the most. I was alone in Sky's house which was located in the forest with no-one else around for hundreds of blocks so I shut my eyes tight, fear gripping me.
"Ty? Wake up…" I snapped my eyes open at the voice. My vision hazy as I desperately tried to become accustomed to the light. I bolted upright and tumbled to the side of my bed, strong arms holding me up right so as to not allow me to fall. "I'm home…" He said quietly and all coherent thought left me as I began to sob. "You…Sky…I…" A mess of mumbles, hiccups and silent curses passed my lips as my brain fully registered the situation.
After a while, I managed to calm myself down and he moved to sit down on the bed next to me. "What happened? Why-Why were you gone for so long?" I asked, wiping at my eyes with my hands. "I was captured by Solaire's son, Chevalier, and kept hostage until I finally escaped and killed him. I'm sorry for worrying you…." He said and I scoffed slightly, "I was more than worried! People kept telling me that you were probably dead!" He didn't say anything after that, instead he pulled me close and laid down.
I realised that his silence meant that we would talk in the morning. Just as I was on the brink of falling asleep he spoke up, "I'm alive now and I'm here with you and that's all that matters. Well to me at least." I felt my heart swell as I heard his words, smiling to myself as I snuggled into him, glad to have him back home and glad to have him close to me….
-o-
I woke up first and stared at Sky for a while as I waited for him to wake up as well. I had missed him so much, more than he'll ever know. And just days ago I was on the verge of believing that he had been killed. Seeing him sleeping next to me as if he had never been missing in the first place just wanted to make me break down in tears all over again. I was so, so happy.
I decided that he could explain everything whenever he wanted to and that I didn't really mind in fact, I was just glad that he was home, he was safe and he was here with me. I wriggled out of his grasp and headed upstairs, a grin on my face as I began making breakfast and without realising I had started singing a song that he had sang to me months ago.
"Well I know this little cavern, next to this mineshaft, we can mine~"
"I didn't know you liked that song that much." The sound of his voice startled me and I ended up dropping the piece of bread I had been holding. I picked it up off the floor and tossed it in the bin before facing Sky, "Of course I do! You sang it for me…" I mumbled as I felt my cheeks reddening. Sky grinned at me before wrapping his arms around me, "I'm glad you liked it. I'm really glad." He mumbled softly before extracting his arms from me.
Without warning he leaned in and pressed his lips to mine, the kiss going from gentle and slow to slightly frantic as if he was trying to pour all his emotions into this one kiss. I think it worked, it sure felt like it. And as we made our way back downstairs and towards the bed and as he began to trail kisses down my neck, I felt that it didn't really matter if I ever came to find out what fully had happened to him or if I ever found out wholly about his past.
It came to me in that moment of utter euphoria that it didn't matter about his past or my past, rather it mattered about our future and how we'd shape it because really, that's all we needed to focus on. And when he buried his face into my neck after our heated moment of passion, his voice was so clear as he said, "I love you." I said it right back because it was the truth and nothing but the truth and part of me thought back to all the bad times in my life and how I never thought I'd ever be happy but it seemed fate had a funny way of playing its cards. I'm glad I got this hand in life because in the end it was all worth it, Sky was worth it. Still thinking, I curled into his embrace.
'This is good. I hope I never have to find a way out of this.' I thought, inwardly smiling as my sleep-addled brain registered Sky kissing my head lightly as my consciousness faded away…
