A Deal's A Deal
It was supposed to be a joke promise. Lauren would only kiss Jake if he won a gold medal at the Olympics. Neither of them were supposed to remember that when the actual time came. And yet here they were, approaching each other after the initial celebration had died down. Lauren gripped onto her medal wrapped around her neck, hiding a smirk as Jake did the same.
The wrestler licked his lips. "Kiss up, Barbie." He tapped his medal and then put his arms behind his back.
She let out a laugh. "Sooo romantic. Weren't there supposed to be a line of girls around here waiting for this very moment?" She looked around at the madness and then back at him, smirking fully now. "I don't see anyone but you."
"That's not true. You're here." He replied cooly. "A deal's a deal, right?" He closed his eyes and puckered his lips out at her.
She smiled, staring at him for a couple moments, before breaking out into a run down the gymnasium. It didn't take long before she heard him following behind her. She kept going until reaching the wall on the far end, where she turned around to face him.
He slowed to a stop inches in front of her. "Not cool." He said, although his smile expressed otherwise.
She rolled her eyes. "Oh just kiss me already. Jeez." She grabbed him by his medal and pulled him in, their lips crashing against one anothers.
It was supposed to be a joke, but Lauren had been waiting to do that since she found out she made it onto the Olympics team.
….
It only took forever and a day, but Lauren Tanner finally had a boyfriend. An actual boyfriend who wasn't afraid to show PDA or say he loved her without her having to provide sex first (and not even then. Stupid Carter.). For the first time in her life, she got a guy without having to try at all and it felt pretty freaking amazing.
Jake walked into the living room with a bowl of popcorn. Lauren smiled up at him from the couch and then held up the blanket so he could slide in. He placed the bowl in between them and took out a handful. "So, what are we watching?"
"Pretty in Pink." Lauren said smugly, throwing some popcorn into her mouth. She didn't even need to look at Jake to know he was making an actual gasp face.
"Didn't we watch this already?" He finally replied, sitting back on the couch.
She laughed. "You wish, but nope."
"Yeah we did. Isn't this that Molly Ringwald girl? I remember seeing that name before."
"No, we watched Sixteen Candles and The Breakfast Club. She was in both of those."
"Are you serious? How many of these movies is she in?"
"This is the last one for her, but not for us!" She said, the last part all cheerfully. She sat back on the couch with him and he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "This marathon is just getting started, baby. Just sit back and enjoy it."
"But after, we're still doing The Avengers movie marathon, right?"
Lauren patted his chest a couple times. "Sure, whatever you say. Now shush, it's starting."
He let out a sigh, but by the end of the movie he had officially declared Duckie "the man" so she figured it was an accomplishment.
Yep, she could get used to this whole "normal couple" thing.
A/N: I was so set on Damon/Kaylie being my last-fic-ever subjects, but then I finally sat down and watched the last two episodes of MIOBI and these two stole my heart. I wasn't expecting them to be so cute and that last little bit of them where Lauren's like "you took Otis!" and chases him is my favorite right now.
Super random I know, but I just had to get it out of my system.
