Finish the Fight

Zoom in on flagship.

"It's just three of us now," Verox growled from his throne. He looked at his son, and then at the mechanical warrior Argus. He shook his head a little, "My army is gone, with the Door in their possession. Our forces aren't large enough in orbit to do the damage desired. We need either the Door, or to await reinforcements."

"Reinforcements will take too long to arrive," Vrak commented.

Argus said nothing.

"Then destroy them yourself. You wish to sit my throne, then bring me back the Door!" Verox shouted at Vrak.

Vrak bowed, "Yes Father. I will see to it at once…"

Argus and Vrak left the bridge and the two looked at each other.

"You have your mission," Vrak told him, "Fail and survive, and you'll wish you'd been destroyed. No more failure; it's time for our victory."

"Yes, Prince Vrak," Argus said. He watched as Vrak walked down the hallway and then stood there, just watching.

"The Door has been hidden in my temple," Ninjor reported as the team watched him enter into the cave again.

"And you're sure it's safe there?" Noah asked.

Ninjor nodded, "Extremely. It will be moved to a better location when this is over."

"Wait, better?" Jake questioned, "But..."

"It's still safe with me," Ninjor told him, "Don't question me!"

"Now the question is what they'll do next," Troy said, "I can't imagine they'll just go back to sending down monsters from time to time. We made a major blow to them, after all."

The monitors started to beep. The Rangers went to them and saw Argus standing in the woods, waiting.

"I'll go alone," Paul said, "This is my fight."

"We know," Troy told him.

"Be careful," Emma said.

He nodded, "I will be." He ran outside and teleported.

"There's more!" Gia said, "Guys!"

They looked again, this time seeing Vrak standing in the city, sword in hand.

"I guess he's ours then," Troy said.

The five humans, the Phantom Ranger, and Ninjor ran out the cave.

Paul walked towards Argus, unMorphed.

"I don't want to do this, Drew," Paul told him.

"That makes two of us," Argus said.

"Wait…what?" Paul questioned, taking steps towards him.

Argus lifted his sword, "Don't come closer," he said, "If you do, I'll attack."

"I don't get it," Paul told him.

"All that's left, besides a few soldiers, is myself, Vrak, and the King," Argus said, "If I don't destroy you, they'll destroy me. Things are desperate, and they're no longer the winning side I chose to join."

"You chose to join the side that was winning," Paul told him, "You didn't care about the morality of the decision. Now it looks like we're the winning side and what, you want to join us?"

"No. I just don't want to be destroyed," Argus stated.

"I won't destroy you," Paul said, "The Rangers won't either. You're my friend, and they all know that. Join us and you're safe."

"I refuse to join you. That's not what I want."

"It's all you have left!" Paul shouted at him, "Come on! You're a smart guy! You must realize that!"

"Realizing and acknowledging are two different things," Argus growled.

"Then what will you do? Stay as you are and wander the Earth or something?" Paul questioned.

"If I could be human again, maybe," Argus said, "But as I am, I'll find another planet and join them."

"Won't they know you as an Empire member?"

"I'd hope not," he said.

Argus and Paul looked around. There were a few Metins around the trees.

"Sorry," Argus growled, running towards Paul, sword going up. He shouted and swung for Paul.

The Rangers stopped and faced Vrak directly.

"Good, you actually came," Vrak said, "That saves me the trouble of tracking you down."

"We've already done so much damage," Jake said, pointing at Vrak,"We'll be taking you out next!"

"I don't care how powerful you are, we've proven ourselves!" Gia told him.

Emma nodded, "You've plagued our beloved planet long enough!"

Vrak laughed as he lifted his sword at them, "Please. Even with seven of you, you can't stop me. I'm just too powerful!"

"Mega Morph!" the five of them called at once, transforming and standing beside their two allies. Everyone drew up their personal weapon as they faced down Vrak.

"I guess I'll start!" Vrak shouted, running towards them.

Noah and Emma moved forward and started to shoot, but Vrak slashed the blasts away as he ran. He slid and slashed, but Jake and Gia caught his sword on their weapons and pushed back.

Ninjor leapt at one side, the Phantom at theother. Both slashed for Vrak's sides, but a boulder came up on each side and stopped the blades.

"That power is from my cards!" Ninjor shouted in shock.

"Didn't know I could do that?" Vrak questioned Ninjor. "Here!" He thrust his hand onto Ninjor's chest, placing his palm on the "N" emblem. "Compress Thunder!" Ninjor was blasted back, landing a distance away, smoke rising from his chest.

Troy leapt from above, shouting. Vrak swung his sword up and parried with no difficulty. He pushed back and kicked Troy in the chest, taking him a few steps back. He walked forward and slashed Troy twice quickly in the chest before he could counter.

As the others converged on Vrak, he span around, a storm of feathers coming from his armor. The feathers cut the team back and dropped them all to the ground.

"That wasn't hard," Vrak said. He crouched over Troy and grabbed him by his suit, hefting him up, "Come. I have other plans for you."

Before the others could get up, Vrak and Troy were gone.

"Troy!" they all shouted, running to the spot the two had just been, but there was nothing.

Paul slashed a Metin down and then drew his weapon up to stop the sword as Argus swung it. He kicked Argus back and kicked another Metin back, but took a slash down the back from his former friend.

Paul shouted and fell to a knee. He switched to firearm mode and turned, blasting Argus in the chest. He turned and shot a few of the Metins back before getting back up and switching modes again.

"It's just us again," Argus said.

Paul looked around, then lowered his weapon. He lifted his helmet off, "Let's hope we're not interrupted again," Paul said. Argus said nothing. "Drew, what if I helped you become human again?"

"You can't," he said.

"There are ways! It's been done before!"

"And how will you gain the means for one of those ways?" Argus questioned.

"I will find a way!" Paul told him, "I refuse to let you stay like this!"

"I made my choice," he told Paul, "I did this to myself. If I'm stuck like this, then I'm stuck like this."

"I refuse to believe that," Paul told him.

"If you want to hear it or not, it's the truth."

"Did you ever have second thoughts about abandoning humanity?" Paul questioned.

"No."

"I won't give up on you," Paul told him.

"You should. As soon as this ends – however it ends – I won't be here ever again. Give up on me. Move on with your life!"

"You're my friend. You're part of my life!" Paul told him.

"Not anymore I'm not," he stated.

"Paul?" He looked down, seeing his Morpher on his belt. He pulled it up as they kept calling his name.

"What?" he asked.

"Sorry about your fight, but something bad's happened," Noah said.

"How bad?" Paul asked.

"Vrak got Troy."

Paul looked at Argus, "Can you get us onto the flagship?"

Argus said nothing.

Vrak threw Troy forward. He landed on the cold ground in front of the throne where Verox sat.

"This is their leader?" Verox growled as he rose. Troy turned his head up to look at the King, but said nothing.

"We had him as a prisoner for a while," Vrak said, "Professor Cog had him in the arena. He didn't fight well without his gear. I thought you might like the chance to test him, Father."

Verox laughed and picked up a sword from beside the throne, "So, this is a gift?"

"Yes," Vrak said.

Troy turned back to look at Vrak, then at the King. Verox swung once, forcing Troy to back away quickly.

"Here," Vrak said, holding out his hand. His blue sword from his first fights was clenched in his hand, offered to the Red Ranger. Troy looked at it, then at Vrak, then he took the weapon. "It's close enough to yours that I figure you might be able to fight well enough with it."

Verox slashed down, but Troy parried. The power of the blow forced him to his knees, struggling to hold the blade back. He shouted and pushed back, but was backhanded by Verox and hit a control panel.

Verox walked towards him. Troy picked himself up and plunged, but Verox slashed the sword down and kneed Troy to the ground.

"You're not very good," Verox growled.

"To be fair, you've had a lot more experience than he has," Vrak told his father.

Verox nodded once and lifted his blade, "I guess I should end it now."

"Your fun is over already?" Vrak asked.

Verox nodded and lifted the weapon. Before he could plunge it down, there was a crash. Both of them and Troy looked to the source of the sound and saw Argus and Paul, the Silver Ranger wearing his Battlizer.

"What is the meaning of this?" the King growled.

"Humanity!" Argus told him.

Paul ran forward and shouted, slashing Vrak aside a single step. Before Vrak could retaliate, Argus swung his sword at Vrak and kept him at bay.

"You've made your last mistake," Vrak growled.

"I made that mistake long ago," Argus told him.

Paul leapt forward and shouted, slashing for the Emperor. He swung his sword up and the two weapons met and locked.

"Troy, go!" Paul shouted.

Troy ran to a control panel and grabbed his Morpher while the two combatants were kept at bay. He turned, "Paul! Come with me!"

"I plan to!" he shouted, "Drew!"

Argus nodded.

Troy hit his Morpher and teleported. Paul leapt back and grabbed his friend by the arm and the two teleported in a blur of silver. But before it was gone, a black smoky chain of power from the King's hand ensnared the teleport and he vanished too.

The three of them landed on the ground in the city, and then Verox landed beside them. "I won't allow you to escape," he growled. He lifted his blade towards Argus, "Traitors will perish!"

The three stood together as Troy loaded his card, "Mega Morph!" He flashed red and lifted his sword.

Verox ran at them and slashed. Troy swung his sword up to hold it while Argus and Paul swung at his sides, clipping the King with their weapons.

Verox kicked Troy back and span around, slashing Argus in the chest. He kicked Paul back and then slashed him, returning him to his normal Silver Ranger form.

Troy leapt forward and kicked Verox in the chest, but nothing happened. He dropped down as blasts flew overhead, slamming into the King, but they did nothing.

"Troy, Paul!" the others were calling as they ran. Noah and Emma had their weapons up and fired another round, but it did nothing to Verox.

The Phantom Ranger lifted his, "Knight Rapid!" he called as a rapid burst of power slammed into Verox, but did little but force him to take a step back.

Paul threw his Morpher, "Troy!"

Troy caught it and slammed the golden key into the bottom, "Battlizer!"

As the others stood around him, the Battlizer armor appeared on Troy. He lifted the blade and swung it for Verox, but the King parried with his sword.

"Shining Morph Card!" the others called, summoning their golden armor to compliment Troy's. The Shining Blades swung at Verox, each one taking him in the chest, but nothing happened.

"How is he so strong?" Jake shouted.

"I've survived many attacks," Verox growled, "I've learned how to become the ultimate defense!" He pushed each weapon back and slashed each one of them back in turn; taking them down and knocking them out of their modes, even Troy.

Vrak stood and watched on a monitor. He lowered his head.

"Well Father, I'm doubting your ability to win. Clearly the Rangers have you beat right now…" He chuckled at he hit a button.

The cannons fired from the flagship.

Verox began to glow, "What?" he shouted.

The Rangers and Argus backed away.

[Low camera angle to show "growth"]

Verox let out a roar as he grew.

"I think this is where our luck turns around!" Jake said.

"We have enough Megazords that we can hold him back," Noah said, "Star Guard!"

"Skyship!" Troy called.

"Q-Rex!" Orion called.

The Phantom Ranger silently input his commands.

In short order, King Verox faced off with the Star Guard, the Pirate Megazord, the Lion Knight Megazord and the Q-Rex Drill Megazord.

"I'll crush you all!" Verox shouted, slashing the Star Guard back. He turned and caught the Q-Rex's drill before punching it back. He span and slashed the Lion Knight, then kicked the Pirate Megazord back.

He hammered the Q-Rex with a few more slashes and then there was a bright glow, and Paul fell to the ground, where Argus rushed to his side.

"What happened?" Paul muttered. He looked at his Morpher, "Did it go back to the future?" he muttered.

"Phantom!" Troy shouted from the Pirate Megazord cockpit, being the only one inside, "Retreat! Please!"

The Lion Knight backed away and vanished. The Phantom Ranger landed and looked up.

"What are you doing?" Noah's voice came to Troy's cockpit.

"We're going to blow them up," he said, "We can't let the Phantom Ranger blow himself up, so it has to just be the two of these Megazords!"

The Pirate Megazord walked through Verox's slash and grabbed his arms. The Star Guard moved from behind and grabbed him as well, holding him between the two Megazords.

The five Rangers leapt to the ground and looked up as the two Megazords exploded with Veox between them. He shouted as the explosion went off.

There was a long moment of silence, and then the five Zord heads flew down and landed in the hands of the Rangers.

"They evacuated," Noah said.

"That's good," Emma said, "We don't want them destroyed too."

"I don't see Verox," Gia said.

Sure enough, he wasn't there.

"We got him!" Jake shouted.

Argus and Paul stood together and looked at each other.

"Just Vrak," Argus said.

Vrak was typing on his console, "And now I'm King," he said to himself. "But let's cause some trouble in paradise as a replacement for my crowning ceremony." He hit a button.

As the Rangers gathered together, and Paul left Argus to join them, Argus tightened his grip on his sword. He shouted and slashed, causing Paul to turn and take a slash down the front of his suit. He fell to his knees and cried out, returning to normal.

"Paul!" everyone shouted, running to him.

"No!" Paul shouted, "Something's wrong! Stay back!"

Argus lifted his sword again as Paul came to his feet and lifted his Morpher. He pressed a button, summoning his trident. The two swung and their weapons met, locked.

"Just go! Please!" Paul told them.

The team looked at each other and then ran off, leaving the two friends.

The team walked down the beach, "So, do we just leave him?" Emma asked.

"Something's happened to Argus," Noah said, "They were allies today, and to just suddenly attack like that? Something's wrong. But he's Paul's friend, so it's his fight."

"But it's not right!"

"It's not," Troy agreed, "But we can't do much else. This is a fight for Paul's friend, and it's Paul's fight, that means."

"Very good of you to say that," a voice said.

They turned around to see Vrak walking down the beach.

"He has to stop doing that," Jake said.

The Rangers drew up their Morphers, and the Phantom drew his blaster up.

"This will be our fight," Vrak said, "I'm the King now. If you can stop me, you can stop the Empire. But of course, you haven't been able to stop me before…"

"We've changed a lot since those past fights," Troy told him, "Mega Morph!"

The others echoed him and Morphed, going straight to Legacy Mode. They lifted their weapons and ran forward as the Phantom shot from a distance.

Vrak lifted his sword and walked towards them. He blocked and pushed them past him so the team surrounded him. He slashed at Emma, but Troy parried. She went under Troy and swung up, but Vrak leap back, landing behind Noah and Gia. He swung, but Jake parried.

Noah span and slashed one way, while Gia went the other way. Vrak leapt back to avoid them and threw his hand out, throwing an energy burst into the group to blast them away.

The Phantom Ranger shouted and ran at him. Their blades crossed and Vrak held with little effort.

"I miss having you around," Vrak said.

"You miss having a powerless enemy in chains?" he hissed.

"I miss the companionship of a silent man who was once my enemy," Vrak said. He pushed the other warrior back and slashed him across the chest.

He turned and caught Troy's blade on his. He kicked Troy back and shook his head.

Vrak was thrown back and shouted. The other four Rangers stood there where he had just been, gold energy flowing around them.

"Those Shining Morph Cards," Vrak hissed.

Troy ran to join them and lifted his Dragon Dagger, "Glad I figured out that combination for the burst," he told them.

"It's a good shot," Noah said, "Surprising for an enemy."

"If only I could have had that power," Vrak said, "I might just take it from you upon you destruction, though."

The Rangers lifted their Morphers, "Shining Morph Card!" they shouted, going to Shining Mode. They crossed their weapons immediately and fired a burst of power from their domes for Vrak.

Vrak caught the golden burst on his sword and slashed it aside. He ran forward as they ran for him.

Paul swung both ends of his trident out, blocking the swings of his friend's blade. He pushed back and took steps back to make some distance.

"Drew!" he shouted.

Argus continued to wildly strike, forcing Paul to make quick blocks that were coming too close.

"Please! You can beat this!" Paul shouted.

Argus swung again, straight down. Paul shouted and swung the center of his weapon straight up, catching the sword. He pushed, forcing the weapon against the other warrior's torso. He pushed back, gained some footing, and threw his trident, knocking the sword out of Argus' hand.

Paul ran forward and tackled him before he could get a weapon. The two rolled and Paul came up on top of him, hands on his chest, "Drew! Please!" he shouted, "You're stronger than this! You can beat this!"

Paul reached into his pocket and pulled out the key that allowed him to Morph. He thrust it into Argus' chest. The key began to glow silver, becoming blindingly bright. Paul shouted from the sheer brightness, and then it faded and the key was gone.

Argus remained on the ground, and then the mechanical body shattered, revealing the body of a young man.

"Drew!" Paul called, "Drew! Wake up! Drew!"

The man slowly stirred, "Paul?" he asked weakly.

Paul nodded, "It's me! I…I brought you back!"

Drew lifted his hand, "I…I don't understand…," he looked at Paul, "But thank you."

He closed his eyes and passed out.

"Drew," Paul said, smiling, "You're back."

The Shining Blades clashed with Vrak's sword as he walked through the Rangers. He span around and kept countering on every side.

"My skill and power is too far beyond yours!" he told them. He thrust his sword high, "Compress Thunder!"

A blast flew from the sky, slamming into the five Rangers, throwing them into the sand. Their helmets rolled off and their Shining Mode faded.

"Just give up!" Vrak laughed, "I beat your two strongest modes! Now what?"

Troy picked himself up, panting. He picked up his sword from the sand, "We give it everything we've got!" he told Vrak.

"You've heard us say it enough," Noah said, "But it needs saying again."

"We won't fail this planet," Emma said, "We'll protect it from you and the Empire!"

"We've done a pretty good job so far," Jake said.

"We've overcome every challenge you've thrown our way," Gia told him.

The Phantom Ranger walked to join them, lifting his sword, "I put together this team because I had faith in each and every one of them. Now it's time to show you just what I saw in them!"

The Rangers lifted their personal weapons and ran for Vrak.

Vrak walked forward to meet them. Jake swung from a low position upwards, so Vrak swung down to stop him. At the same moment, Noah thrust his bowgun forward and locked the sword between their weapons. And then Noah fired at almost pointblank range into Vrak's chest, stumbling him back.

He lost his grip on his sword.

Gia and Emma ran forward. Emma fired, blasting at the sand, sending it up, then it rained down. Gia leapt through the sand at an angle Vrak hadn't expected, slashing low and taking out his right leg. He shouted and fell, then Emma dashed through the other side, shooting it as she passed, bringing him down to his knees.

The Phantom Ranger and Troy ran straight forward, both of them slashing him through the chest. Vrak cried out as they cut him and passed.

The team came together as Vrak struggled to his feet. He turned towards them, "That…won't…work!" he screamed.

"Will this?" Troy questioned, holding the Blazer with his team. The Phantom Ranger held his blaster out.

"Knight Rapid!"

"Mega Dynamic!"

The two blasts flew forward and slammed into Vrak's chest, blasting him back. He landed in the sand a distance away and didn't move.

The team ran over, wielding their individual weaponry again. They looked down at him. He clenched his fist, grabbing a handful of sand, then relaxed his grip.

"I…can't believe…I lost to scum like you…," he hissed. "The reign of King Vrak…ends so swiftly…"

The Rangers backed away and then Vrak exploded, sending sand into the air. It rained down around them.

"It's over," Noah said.

"Finally over," Gia commented.

Troy span his sword around and plunged it into the sand, "You were a good opponent. I respect your ability, but your evil was the reason you fell, Vrak."

The team stood there in silence.

"Earth is safe again," Emma said.

"I can't believe the fighting's over," Jake said.

"It never ends," the Phantom Ranger said, "Someday you'll have to fight again. But until that day, enjoy your lives. All of you."

Paul and Drew were sitting together in the park. People were out again, laughing, having fun.

"Everything I did…I regret it so much," Drew said.

"Nobody else knows," Paul said, "It's ok."

"It's not," Drew said, "And you sacrificed your powers for me. I'll make things up to you."

"You being back, being here. That's what makes it up to me," Paul said, "Guys!"

The five others were walking through the park together. They headed over to the bench where Paul and Drew sat.

"Hello again," Drew said.

"Always good to see you," Gia told him.

Troy nodded, "Still feeling weird after changing back?"

"It's not as strange anymore," he told Troy.

Noah directed to him, "You still have to help me with a project yet."

"That's right," Drew said, "The three of us will get on that soon."

"So, let me ask something," Jake said, "Do you want to be a Ranger now? I'm just curious."

"I'd do it if I had to," Drew said, "I still can fight, after all."

"Ah, cool," Jake said.

There was a beeping sound, and the six of them reached for their Morphers, but it was just a woman walking by with her phone in hand. She answered it.

"I guess we're still stuck on that," Troy said.

"It's only been two months," Emma said, "It's going to take time."

"It's been our duty for over a year. It's going to be hard to get over it," Gia said.

Troy nodded, "But we're Rangers. We aren't former Rangers, we ARE Rangers. Now and forever."

Everyone looked at each other and gave a nod.

"We'll never give up on the Earth," Emma said.

"We'll fight for our city and for the people," Gia said.

"We'll never surrender," Jake said.

"We'll save everyone," Noah said.

"Powers or not, we'll fight," Paul said.

Troy nodded, "Because we're heroes. We're Rangers."
